The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

Duckburg.Ducktales has a very good point - and twice now I've had waitlists that filled very close chronologically to new declarations in new DVC resorts. So there's hope still! Just keep watching the member booking site, not the cash site, and if you see your 2BR appear, grab it! We don't know exactly how the waitlist works, other than that the computer puts a hold on it and then a CM has to manually finish assigning to you. Many owners have success booking on their own and then canceling the waitlist.
Totally! I booked a room for WDW for Xmas just after expo so we could say goodbye to stuff that’s probably going away or changing. I was waiting for my husband to ok the dates. There was a 1 bed at BWV. The next day it was gone, so I booked at SSR. I put in a waitlist for BWV. Did this while waiting for and riding Mater🤣 A few minutes after I put in the waitlist, the BWV room showed up, so I modified the SSR reservation. It was so weird.

They're the sofas in the upstairs bedrooms, you can see the faded light gray box over each.

Anybody know what is going on July 15-17, 2025 at VDH / Disneyland in general? Availability is non-existent for basically all room types. We aren't going at that time, but I noticed when looking at our dates.

Curious about VDH: what is the availability of 1 bedrooms and larger like? It looks like the resort is predominantly studios. Are 1 bedrooms super hard to book at 11 months? Thanks!

Not really super hard, although time of year does matter. First week of May (low point period and when i booked a 2BR) went pretty quickly - a day or two at most. At other times, my experience is that there's availability for a week or more, and after that, it starts getting spotty.

Well mind you there’s only a few that are declared into inventory. I know it’s proportional to points purchased but yes they can disappear quickly. That said we’ve not had an issue at 11 months thus far.

We just added on at VDH and planning our first trip in feb. 2025. Booked a 1 bedroom. Pretty excited. We stayed at the Disney Hotel several times in the early 90's. Once we became DVC we would trade points for a stay at the Grand Californian or DH. So this will be a pretty nostalgic stay. We have not been back to DLR since 2010. I know things are much different. So a couple of questions.

Is there a separate entrance to Downtown Disney from the hotel, or do you have to wait with everyone going into DTD?

Any tips on Rope Dropping either park from VDH?

How are the Quick Service restaurants?

Any tips in General?

Not presently. They are working on this. There is a new security entrance to DTD and they are working on converting the old entrance to a hotel guest entrance only.

When we were there in June we ended up going to VGC and using their entrance for early entry because it was shaded. We also walked over once in the afternoon when the entrance near VDH was ridiculously long.

ETA: From what I have read they've started allowing hotel guests into the DTD entrance near VDH at 6:45 for early entry and holding others until 7:00.

Thanks that helps a bunch!

One more tidbit, Pixar Place does have their own entrance into DCA (it's across the street from Pixar Place and runs behind VGC), but we were told by the person who checked us in at VDH that they only allow Pixar Place guests to use it for early entry so we did not try in the morning. We had no issue using it in the evening.
