Well, I am really liking Season 4 so far. I had rented Seasons 1-2...and then finally subscribed to HBO to watch the reruns of Season 3....so I look forward to Sundays all week long! I kinda liked Bill in the punk rock 80's! Looking forward to the Eric/Sookie hook-up this season too!! I am definitely onTeam Eric!

The only thing that bothers me...is the fact that there are so many discrepancies between the books and the series. When I read Dead Reckoning it just felt all wrong....as I basically had to forget about True Blood and just remember the Sookie Stackhouse book series...it's almost like they are two entirely different things. I say wrap up the books...and keep going with True Blood!

I like that Sookie is not so whiny this season. She seems to have more backbone so far.

Oh me too! She was really starting to get on my nerves. I was kind of hoping Eric would toughen her up a little bit this season but either way, as long as the whining stops!

I re-watched the second episode and enjoyed it again. I know that True Blood is suppose to be based off of the Sookie Stackhouse books but they really are two different things now and I like it. If the show was a complete copy of the books it would be a little boring because everyone would know exactly what's suppose to happen. I like it this way because it keeps me guessing. Just my honest thoughts.

OK i am MUCH happier after watching ep 2..because i thought Ep.1 was like a bad low budget sci fi movie.
I was happy to see the witches.. and the story behind why they did what they did to Eric, Marnie was scary..lol
Still not diggin the whole King Bill thing and that he killed Sophie Ann..there was just sooo much story left with her. I understand they are trying to keep him as a main character, but i think they could have one another route..but what do i know..lol
Looking forward to next week....

My way of thinking with the books and the show is that i REALLY enjoyed the books and think Charlain Harris did/does a great job with her world of vamps/shifter/fairies etc....i know that whenever a show or movie is made from a book it is somewhat different, but normally they still follow the general storyline. Allan Ball just basically used her characters and 1/2 a storyline here and there. I love some of the things they have done (keeping Lafayette for example), hate what they have done with some things(Faery, king bill, maenad). I just think that he could have kept Charlain's story, but made it better or more in detail, with more backround on some characters or stories. oh well, i will still watch..especially cause i know (or hope i know) what will be coming with Eric soon lol

I agree with the same changes you liked and disliked. And if he doesn't stick with what many fans hope is coming with Eric, True Blood may lose a lot of fans. You can change a lot of things, but that one thing is a must.

I hate Hotshot as well. But they really aren't spending that much time on the Arlene storyline so it doesn't bother me that much.

I like the Arlene story, what there is of it, it seems funny. And Terry is just so nice.

Another great episode last night!!

- Loved the nod to Charlaine Harris...Sookie was reading her book at the end of the episode when she was sitting at the table!

- Eric is adorable...his whole face, his actions, the way he talks...

- HotShot...yeah, not what I expected..but I can deal with that over the Sam and his brother crap.

- I still love Jessica, and Pam...

- ALCIDE!!! and Debbie Pelt....UGH...FAIL!

- Marnie is creepy...but I would have preferred the real witch plot line, not this weird possession crap they giving us...we shall see...

I too dislike the Hot Shot story line (didn't like it in the book either).

But amnesiac Eric is so endearing! I love he punched Pam in Sookie's defense and that his feet are ticklish.

I thought Bill telling Jessica to always be truthful to the ones you love was priceless. Talk about not living what you preach!

The Arlene/baby story just cracks me up. The baby is so cute! I don't want to give it a lot of air time though.

Still love Lafayette, but I don't like his boyfriend and wish he and Tara would go away.
