"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

OK i'll say it..i am so dissapointed. I know the show is different from the books, but i think he has completely butchered Charlain Harris work. Bill as king? Faery was so stupid, Tara..stupid, Tommy and Mrs Fortenberry?? ugh i was soo excited for this season...now im upset..lol

I HATE the way they are doing the fairy storyline on the show. It makes it so corny, when I really liked it in the books

It was almost like a really bad low budget sci-fi movie...
I do agree about having too many storylines, but its always been that way...these are just, ummm... bad????
Im sorry and don't want to seem like im whining, i really really love TB(i mean i love the book so much more ), but just don't like where he has been taking the storylines for the last few seasons...

The one thing I'm not liking about this new season is the fact that there are just too many storylines. They really should just cut Arlene and Tara.

Arlene's character not my fav but I think they should have kept Tara as she was in the beginning the first couple seasons. I do like her character but hate what they have been doing with it starting with her kidnapping and making her "weak". I don't where the heck they are going with her this season. They should bring her back as the tough but smart side kick.

Actually, Jason's Hotshot storyline is one of the few last night that came from the book. Of course, the witches are in the book too, but not as characters you actually hear about.

I loved the King reveal, gives the character something interesting and substantial to do.

So looking forward to all the Sookie and Eric stuff. Hope they stick to that storyline!

We should be able to get HBO Go but have not tried yet.

I just finished watching the second episode and wow! It was much much better then the first one.

I really want to see the second episode, but then I would have to wait 2 weeks for a new one, instead of the usual 1 week. I think I'll wait. Build up the suspense a bit.

Watch it now and then on Sunday!! ;)

Agree. The second epi is better. I am finding I'm less interested in some of the storylines.

I could care less about Jason, Tara, or Sam. I think the demon baby storyline is just silly. I love Lafayette, but his boyfriend is very annoying. I hope this season improves. More vampires and werewolves and less shifters, witches, etc.

Potential spoilers (well potential mini spoilers)

So this is an excerpt from an article with producer Alan Ball.

"'If you know the books and you like the fourth book in the series, you won't be disappointed,' executive producer Alan Ball says. '[In that book], they have a pretty hot hookup that goes on for a while, but all I'm saying is fans of Team Eric will be very happy this year.'"

My BF was totally upset with the first episode. I was not feeling the whole thing with Faery...they just totally changed that whole storyline... I know it's supposed to be different but...it was just a mess. And they really dropped the ball with Claude...they could have done MUCH better....not mention that I'm still disappointed with Claudine.

The thing with Jason is actually right from the book just done a little different. I'm OK with that...

I'm OK with the Andy on V thing...

And I'm OK with Bill as the new King ONLY because in the books he DOES end up getting some job in the vampire hierarchy. He's not ABOVE Eric and not even EQUAL to Eric...but it's SOMETHING.

And yes, I guessed about the new owner of Sookie's house too! I was so proud of myself lol

We haven't watched Episode 2 yet...I'll take all of yours word for it that it's better than ep. 1! I'm just glad we weren't the only two who were disappointed...I thought we were just being picky!

Oh! I forgot to say that the thing is that with the books...the whole story is told from Sookie's POV...so with the show, they have to make up all of these bizarre storylines to keep the "supporting characters" in the show. In the books, Sookie hardly ever see's Tara so the writers can basically do whatever they want with her...same thing with Andy. Although I will say the actress whop plays Portia is really pretty! Much prettier than I think the character is supposed to be!

ok just watched the 2nd episode... AWESOME!! They've redeemed themselves! I'm so excited for the rest of the season now!!!

Everyone was right. Episode 2 just redeemed themselves. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

That witch Marnie was enough to make me crap my pants! :scared1:

I like that Sookie is not so whiny this season. She seems to have more backbone so far.

So far, I'm not that impressed with either new episode. IMO, Season 3 had made up for the whole stupid maenad storyline in Season 2. But they've gone totally off base again with Season 4 and seem to be keeping the only storyline from the book that I really dislike--Jason & Hotshot.

Really--Bill is King of Louisiana? It's obviously a ploy to keep Stephen Moyer more involved and to keep the triangle going.

I AM pleased that Sookie's house is finally cleaned up. It's so out of character for house proud Sookie to tolerate having a house that was just in shambles.

Umm... they are also keeping the amnesiac Eric storyline. And really there are only like two storylines in the book so they do have to make up a lot.

I'm ready for some more half naked Eric next week  :lovestruc

I was actually thinking more of future storylines that are now altered due to the course the series has taken. No Queen of Louisiana at the summit, changes to Claudine/Claude, the fairy line is now shown as coming through her grandfather instead of Gran, Eric's maker is Godric not Appius. All those storylines from future books have now changed.

But, hey, I'm glad they didn't kill off Lafayette. But come on, Arlene now has a possessed baby? :confused3
