"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

Desiree - have you read any of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood books? I'm on number 5 now. More Vampires! Each book centers on a different Brother, their fight for their race, and of course lots of, umm, intimate moments as they each find their 'mate'. Makes the Eric and Sookie shower scene look like a soap commercial! Great, fun stories.

I read the first one and I liked it! I just need to get back to the bookstore and get the next. My bookstores don't seem to keep them in stock (either that or people buy them really fast!)

They get so much better! Rhage's book is second, then Zsadist (which was so well done), then Butch and now I'm on Vischous. They were always gone from our bookstore too! That's why I love my Kindle!! I can have it at home in a couple of minutes. I'm not a gadget girl, heck, I don't even text message, but the Kindle has been the best investment!

I've been thinking of getting one for my husband actually! Now I may end up needing one too. I'll have to look into it! And I will get back to reading those books too. I liked Rhage's story.

I know this is not True Blood related- but it IS about Vampires!

This is surprising- the guy who wrote this movie is Jax from Sons of Anarchy!! Anyone watch that?

Brad Pitt To Produce Dracula Movie ‘Vlad’

Fresh on the heels of the hugely successful Twilight franchise, Summit Entertainment is working on a movie about the most famous vampire of all time, Dracula, aka Vlad the Impaler.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is called Vlad, written by 29-year-old British actor Charlie Hunnam.

Brad Pitt will produce alongside Dede Gardner via the duo’s Plan B Entertainment production company. Brad has a bit of experience with vampires himself, having starred in 1994’s Interview With the Vampire.

Set to direct the film is music video master Anthony Mandler, who has worked with Rihanna on a dozen of her videos including her latest “Russian Roulette.”

Have you tried True Blood, the drink? FYE had it on sale over Thanksgiving. I bought one (around $2). It was nasty. Like a highly carbonated orange fruit punch. Like Fanta with a kick. If I didn't know better, I would have said it tasted alcoholic, it was that strong. Must be a lot of caffeine in it because the labeling says not for consumption of children and pregnant women. At least the bottle is a pretty color.

I haven't seen Sons of Anarchy (it's on my Netflix list!) but Charlie Hunnam is gorgeous. He was also in the short-lived show "Undeclared." I hope "Vlad" is good!

I've been wanting to get some, but it's hard for me to cough up $20+ for soda when I don't even like soda. I haven't been able to find them in stores either so I could just buy one. I really just want the bottle for photo ops

HBO introduces new blood on 'True Blood' for season 3

"A sexy new supernatural is joining the cast of HBO’s “True Blood” for the much-anticipated third season.

“One Tree Hill” regular Joe Manganiello has been cast as Alcide Herveaux, the new werewolf in town who will cozy up to telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse, played by Golden Globe nominee Anna Paquin.

Manganiello joins cast newcomers Alfre Woodard, who will be playing cook Lafayette’s mom on the series, and James Frain of Showtime’s “The Tudors,” who will play Tara’s new love interest, vampire Franklin Mott.

In the last episode of season two, Stephen Moyer’s vampire Bill was violently kidnapped. If show creator Alan Ball follows the storyline laid out in the Charlaine Harris books on which the series is based, Paquin’s Sookie will join forces with the werewolf on a trek through Mississippi to track down her vampire lover.

Fans will be able to satisfy their vampire fix when the show returns to HBO in June."

He is hot! I can't wait for True Blood to come back on.

I had Christian Kane in mind for Alcide. I just don't see it with this guy! Maybe he will be alright though!

I didn't have a preconceived notion of Alcide's onscreen character, but I think Manganiello will do just fine.

I just read the True Blood books this year, but apparently every mid-December Charlaine Harris puts up the first chapter of the upcoming book out online.

If you want a sneak of the upcoming True Blood book, "Dead in the Family," here's the link:

Read it already! I'm a little confused by some of it, some things seem like they moved ahead pretty quick from the last book. Like a certain relationship status.

Seems to follow where the last book left off for me. Do you care to elaborate?

I didn't think Sookie was in an established relationship with a certain vampire. I thought it was still a little on the fence. (Don't want to ruin anything for others, so I'm trying to be generic.)

We should start a Sookie Stackhouse series thread, so we can talk about the books.

I bought myself a Christmas present - True Blood season 1 on DVD at Best Buy for $27. :cool1:

DH also found at Hot Topic the 4-pack of the True Blood soft drink. He paid TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS! I could have killed him. But, he loves the series (and I love the books). Actually, the drink isn't half bad. I just recoil lifting the bottle to my lips because it looks EXACTLY like the bottles used in the series.

Ha! I did that too! Even wrapped it for myself! lol

I was in Hot Topic the other day too and did notice they had some Merlotte's tshirts! I'm thinking about going to get me one (after Christmas)!

Ok, I have to share (speaking of the Merlotte's T-Shirts!).

A few months ago, I was at a convention where the guys from Ghost Adventures were doing a signing (if you've ever seen the show, you probably know them as the "dude" guys - as in, "Dude! Did you hear that??!" or "Dude! Did you see that??!"). My DH had just bought me a "Hi, My Name is Sookie" name tag with "Merlotte's Bar and Grill" on it. I thought it was funny so I clipped it on my blouse.

Well, when my friend and I got to the desk to get our autographs, Zack said, "Sookie, that's an unusual name" and started to sign my picture "To Sookie." I stopped him because I was actually getting the signature for someone else and said, "No, actually, Sookie is not my name." Then the other guy, Aaron, said, "Dude. It's, like, Sookie. It's from a TV show. Dude, don't you know that?"
