I never thought of that, but it's an interesting idea...

But Daphne is a deer. Can she be both?

Sam's a shapeshifter and, if I remember correctly, he can turn into any animal--not just a dog.

Good catch on that, belle&sebastiansmom! I hadn't thought of Daphne turning into a pig. The pig was at the party and then disappeared and then Daphne showed up, didn't she?

Right, in the books Sam can change into whatever animal he wants. He's a lion during the witch war (I think). He prefers the dog, friendlier to humans. In fact, Charlaine Harris describes shapeshifters as the ones that can change into anything, and "weres" as only one specific animal, werewolf, werepanther, etc. So if Daphne is a shapeshifter, she could turn into any animal.

AND, remember that Marianne was able to change Sam into his dog form against his will, and she told him she could do that at anytime. Could be the same for Daphne.

Can't believe I'm putting this much thought into it!!

 Hi there!

Hola!:goodvibes

I love this show, and I love the books even more, but Sookie in the show is driving me crazy!! She sounds so whiny to me and her accent is horrible. She is just grating my nerves....too bad she is the star of the show.

I don't mind Anna as the actress for Sookie, but I do feel like her accent is overly exaggerated this season which makes her sound a little more annoying. I've been to southern Louisiana and I don't recall people talking with such a thick accent. But then again I'm a Yankee too.:rolleyes1

I can't wait either! I will love it when Sookie and Eric get together. I am reading Dead to the World and it was pretty hot reading about their first "encounter" !:lovestruc

So this is actually going to happen?! It happened in the books?! I'm soooo excited now!

Good thought on that!!! That may explain the little house the pig was in when Andy saw it.

Can't believe I'm putting this much thought into it!!

I love it! It's all of our thoughts that keep things interesting, not to mention we come up with some great possibilities!:thumbsup2

I'm a military brat the basically grew up in the south, calling south Louisiana (now Coastal Mississippi) home for many years. Trust me, we don't sound like the residents on TB!! My friends and I are always talking about how the accents on that show make us sound stupid, not to mention the cutesy sayings.

I imdb'd the actors on TB to see where they were from, and was surprised that Lafayette grew up in Alabama, and even he has an exaggerated accent.

Oh, and I saw you haven't read the books and were excited about Eric and Sookie!! Just you wait!! Eric plays a larger (and steamier) role in Sookie's life than Bill ever does!

I agree that Anna's accent is HORRIBLE this season. It does seem even more exaggerated than last season.

and yes Tammy...Eric and Sookie! I really hope they delve deep into this one, cause there are some REALLY steamy scenes with them in the books :lovestruc:rolleyes1

I am sorry if this question was asked before. It's about Maryann's pig and shape shifting.

Is the pig actually "someone"???:rolleyes1

DH and I are betting it's Karl, Maryanne's servant. I don't think it's Daphne, but she is probably involved with Maryanne in some way or another.

I was thinking that too!

The pig is usually with Maryann and so is her servant- so..............;)

I started book 3 yesterday morning and finished it last night. I couldn't put it down. DH brought home books 4 & 5 today. Woo Hoo!

It's good to know that it's not just me!

Oh my, now that is something to really look forward to!! He's definitely got to lock down that chica and show her who's boss!

That has got to be it, I thought that myself earlier on. On a previous episode he interrupted Eggs & Tara by the pool. When he got in the house Maryann smacked him for doing that. It just made me take note of it for future episodes.

With all of the talk about the books it's making want to go out and get them so I know what everyone else is reading/talking about.

I only got through the first 4 chapters of book 4 last night (durn kids, LOL). But, I can see what's coming.... ;)

I feel like I read the books too quickly, lol. Everything is jumbled in my head and the series isn't helping. I didn't read them til last winter (during a huge ice storm when we had no electricity) so I had already seen the first season. I like Anna Paquin as Sookie, and I don't mind the accent. I'm from Arkansas and not Lousiana but you get all kinds of accents here some sounds very southern others not much at all. I actually really appreciated the accent after I heard her on Jimmy Fallon's show the other night. It was super strange not to hear her talk like Sookie and her natural accent is all over the place (I guess she was born Canadian, raised in New Zealand, etc).

I think this Fall I will take the time to re-read the books at a more leisurely pace. I do like that the series mixes things up a bit to keep it interesting, although I have to agree that the Maryann thing is dragging along too much. I think it is a good guess that the servant is also the big (and what a pretty pig it is). I really want to know what is up with Daphne...I want her to be good for Sam, but those hellacious claw marks can't be a good thing.

Although this seasons seems to be moving more slowly I have found it to be very entertaining, I have laughed out loud way more than I did last season. It just goes by too quickly!!

I love book 4

they better not mess up some of those scenes
i want to see what i read

I just rewatched Sunday's ep and misssed something: when Tara comes home and Maryanne is in Gran's clothing, she's reading HEARTSICK by Chelsea Cain (if anyone on the thread has mentioned this, I missed it, so I'm sorry). I read this book last summer and it scared the crappage out of me... it's about a serial killer who kidnaps an FBI agent and tortures him (it's extremely graphic). I had a hard time getting through it, but it was pretty good in a Silence-of-the-Lambs-but-not-as-poignant kind of way. Just thought that was interesting...
