"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

I had a lot of hope for this season -- and I think the episodes have a lot to do with who the author is. One of the authors, I think, is a Wu? And his episodes are always better than the others.

IMO, Eric is like a 10-year old boy and he really needs to man up. It was endearing at first, but now I sure don't see how a woman could take him to bed.

Is it bad I am more intrigued by the Lafayette plot line than the whole mess of vamps and witches? There is just something totally eerie and off setting about it.

Also, last night my heart simply broke for Jessica. Who in their right mind would have expected that of Hoyt? OMG!

I too am over the doe-eyed Eric. When they showed him last season in the flash back to when he was human he still had a bad boy edge about him, moreso than this incarnation. I think the chemistry between Sookie and Eric really won't work without friction (not that kind of FRICTION!), but conflict, etc. Sometimes the more someone infuriates you the hotter they seem. This whole running in a forrest of snow crap is hokey. I know it's to symbolize their love as some how "pure", but give me a break. I think the scenes with Moyer were hella-hot. But, since she ended up marrying Vampire Bill off screen that may have something to do with it all.

I just wish they would resolve this coven problem and quit dragging it out.

I like the Lafayette plot too. It finally got interesting.

I felt bad for Jess. She was uninvited from TWO houses. Hoyt was MEAN!!!

How is Jason going to deal with the fact that she's a virgin?

Maybe that's why Sookie is having a problem having chemistry with him? Bill was always a man.

Or maybe Anna flipped out when Alex touched one of her girls while filming an episode and now, he has to overly pretend to be this doe-eyed boy, because he can't really touch her in the way Stephen Moyer was obviously allowed during filming. :confused3

It's HBO for pete's sake. I noticed last night Alex hesitantly circled by her br**** and ended up more by her underarm. That's NOT an Eric move.

I don't understand the Bill Love. He manipulated Sookie every step of the way from getting her almost killed by the Rats at the beginning thus 'forcing' her to have his blood to lying to her about the reasons why he was there in Bon Temps to almost killing her multiple times. He isn't a good person in his nature and only truly looks out for himself and I think he gets off on terror. There was no reason to glamour Portia to scream everytime she sees him to making sure Sookie knew he was having sex with other girls this season.

I don't like what Ball has done with AE as Book 4 was great. AE is on the childish side but eh.

Is he on your "list" of free passes, if you get a chance to runaway with someone for a bit? :teeth:

I don't know about HER "freebie list" but he sure as heck is on MINE!:cool1:

Dh doesn't watch TB, but I made him watch long enough to see "Eric" so he'd know who he was when he shows up uninvited at my door and wants me! (the "rules" for our freebie list, lol)

:lmao::rotfl2:

Btw, for all you Alexander Skarsgard fans, twice now I've seen previews for the remake of Straw Dogs, although how they can improve upon the Dustin Hoffman/Susan George version is beyond me. Skarsgard plays the lead bad guy. I was in college when that came out and I still have dreams of Susan George in a sweater.

:lmao: I can say the same thing. I don't get all this Eric Love? :confused3 Even Eric doesn't want to remember who he was and return BACK to evil ERIC. Both Charlaine Harris & Alan Ball felt it was necessary to give him amnesia so he could be SOMEONE ELSE for Sookie to love. Hello! Clue there? :scratchin (I'm being snarky to no one in particular - well maybe the Eric Lovers. :duck: And using caps for emphasis, not for shouting. Too lazy to push all the formatting buttons.)

Eric, too, tricked Sookie into drinking his blood by telling her she had to remove all the silver schrapnel from his chest and suck out the blood. He bought her house and kept it a secret more so he could come & go in her home without needing an invitation. He, too is an evil, cunning and cutthroat, well bite-throat guy. :scared1:

His only saving grace is that he is so gorgeous & sexy, and he loves Pam and will do anything to protect her. And he loved Godric with his whole heart & soul.

Bill was ordered by Queen Sophie Ann to infiltrate Sookie's life. (Never could understand all that love for her either. She was a petulant, spoiled, immature brat with power,)

Bill actually loves Sookie. For all his darkness and evil past that his Maker made him do, he left his maker & that lifestyle because he didn't want to continue to senselessly kill humans. Sookie was the only thing in centuries that has brought back to a sense of humanity. He SPARED Eric when he could have given him the true death, because he loves Sookie and wanted her happiness. He also saved Tara's life and gave orders for Pam to NEVER harm her, for the same reason. Tara is Sookie's best friend.

He also cried when he thought that Jessica had died. (I don't get why he couldn't still feel her? :confused3 )

In the end, we're comparing VAMPIRES here. Not exactly saints. :littleangel: It would be like comparing one vulture to another. :upsidedow

You don't get the Eric love? You said it yourself "His only saving grace is that he is so gorgeous & sexy" LOL I'm pretty sure none of us would like any of them in real life :rotfl:

You've made some valid points--still Team Eric all the way here;). Bill sucks! Alan Ball has made Bill more likeable than he is in the books.

Gorgeous and sexy goes a long way in my book...:rotfl::rotfl:

I agree with a lot of you...

I like ASkars butt just as much as the next girl, but I feel like his talent for acting is being completely ignored just so they can use him as eye candy for 10 minutes out of the episode. I LOVED book 4 because Eric and Sookie had an actual "relationship," they talked, they joked, they admitted that they cared for each other...it wasn't just one long sex scene like the show has made it out to be.

As far as the shower scene.....I feel like that was the perfect opportunity for them to take a beautiful scene right from the book and they totally dropped the ball. Someone on Twitter actually posted that she feels like at the end of every season, Alan Ball asks people what they WANT in the next season and then goes with the exact opposite! :rotfl2: I feel like, for what we got, they should have just skipped it and not gotten all of our hopes up. Yes, I get that Sookie was high off of Eric's blood but we saw that whole trippy sex-in-the-outdoors bit in Season 1 with Jason and Amy.

In addition (since I'm on a roll here), I still feel that one of the problems this show has is that it's not told from Sookie's POV like the books. By writing the show this way, they have to find things to do for the characters that rarely appear in the books, such as Tara, Arlene, and Hoyt. That being said, WHY THE HECK is he CREATING characters such as Tommy, The Mickens, and Jesus? (I'll exclude Jess because I ADORE her!) You have too much on your plate as it is and the storylines that you are having to "create" are just plain GARBAGE. I LOVE Lafayette and that is one character I'm glad he kept around...but he was perfectly fine as the cook at Merlotte's throwing in his hilarious 2 cents every once in a while. They've ruined the characted by trying to give him this ridiculous story line. Nelsan Ellis does a great job pulling it off, but the storyline itself sucks.

Up until this past Sunday, with the exception of Episode 1, I really liked Season 4 so far....I was not THRILLED with this last episode but I didn't find it TERRIBLE either. I loved the stuff with Jason and Jessica, I love Bill's character (finally!), and I love the stuff with the witches. Eric and Sookie are starting to get on my nerves, like that couple that just can't stop with the PDA and no one wants to be around them anymore. I also like Andy's storyline with the V addiction.

OK I'm stepping away from the soap box now....

Well, okay, I misspoke.

What about this is NOT to love:

I just meant there is stuff to love about Bill too. (He originally glamoured me into watching the show, so there will probably always be some residual effect on me.) Unfortunately, now we know that his scenes with Sookie were a lot hotter due to their real life than acting.

::yes:: I agree. I feel like yelling, "Not every chatacter that walks on screen needs to have EQUAL time!" :headache: :headache: :headache: I get afraid when they show scenes in Merlotte's. We may meet another customer and they will have to have their own full story line. :headache:

Do the producers not know there are other kinds of contracts for actors, too? Like bit parts, one episode roles. :confused3

LOL. I don't usually quote a post with pictures but I stepped away from that rule tonight for obvious reason. While you did miss speak, by you posting that picture all is definitely forgiven

I like Eric because he owns his evil. Bill is in denial.

Me too...Like I said before...I am So TIRED of PAINED, emotionally tormented vampires. Eric is sexy because, like you said, he OWNS being one. He may not exactly LIKE it, he obviously does have SOME negative feelings about it, but he doesn't whine about it.

I know! And they are cutting back on the on-screen time for the important characters (ie ERIC!!!) to make room for Tommy, Jesus, that ghost lady, and Arlene!

So does ANYONE still doubt that Bill loves Sookie?

He didn't save her for her blood.

We saw a Straw Dogs preview when we went to see The Help. Alexander really seemed like a different character there, looking forward to seeing him in it.

Naked Alcide was not too shabby tonight either. DH commented that he just realized why I like this show so much!

Did anyone catch how in the episode before last Marnie called Sookie a "Demoness"? Was that an homage to Mr. Cataliades?
