DH and I went there today and oh my god was it awesome. We waited on line for 1 1/2 hours for it to open at 4PM (they were having a opening party for executives during the day). Thank god we waited on line when we did because at 3PM the line was around the restaurant and packed. We also got Opening Day pins from the manager of the restaurant which was unexpected.

We loved the layouts of the 4 dining rooms they had - Coral Reef room, The Forest room, The Sephoria Room (I think that is what it was called) and The Ice Cave. We were in the forest room and the details were amazing. We were sitting next to the Triceratops dino and he was so sool to look at. All the Dinosaurs were to the T and we loved the look of the ice cave room it is like dining in a real cave. There is a meteor shower every 20 mins which was cool and everything changed colors. The food was great no complaints. We had the Appetizer Sampler and I had the Teriyaki Salad and DH had the Steak and Cheese sandwhich. We ended up getting full and took some home it was that good. We didn't check out the whole place because of how busy it was but there is Build a Dino there too sort of like Build A Bear but you make Dinos. I am trying that when it calms down. Also a great shop to buy shirts and glasses.

I highly recommend going there when you are on vacation. It is a must see.

I have been to the one in Kansas City at Legends and we enjoyed it so much we are looking forward to checking the Disney one out next week...we plan on getting there early since they're not taking any ADRs yet. I agree with you, the ice Cave is so cool...the food we had was good too so I am really looking forward to trying this new one at Disney..I think it will make a great addition to DTD!

cool...did you get any photos?
If so can you post them?

Thanks for the report! I'm glad you had a good time.
It is so nice to finally hear from someone who has dined there. There has been a lot of buzz about this restaraunt and I'm glad it's finally open!

We got there about 4:30 today and the line was halfway around the building! I was mainly there to take video for my website so we walked in and someone stopped us and said if we wanted to eat we could sit at the bar and order food and there was no wait! So basically we walked right in and sat down to eat. The bar was very neat too because the counter looked like ice and was lit up similar to the Ice Room. I took some video which I'm going to put on my website later tonight but one of the employees told me no video cameras! I will still upload what I have though. Check ParkSleuth.com later tonight or tomorrow. In the meantime here are a couple pics...

The pictures ere great..... BUT HOW WAS THE FOOD?????? ;)

Ah yes, the food. I can only speak for what we had which was the lasagna and my wife had quesadillas. I can't remember the exact names they had but it had something to do with dinosaurs like t-rexadillas or something. It was good but I wouldn't say it was better than Rainforest Cafe for instance. About the same. If you like Rainforest then you'll like this. Even if you don't eat there, go in and check out the Ice room... it's really neat!

That's funny... yeah it is a small world after all! So how did you like the food?

thanks for the pics...place looks adorable..
as with RC I wouldn't expect much in food area. get a burger and be done with it

Just enjoy the atmosphere....My kids are grown and they still would love it

I found it ok - the margarita was very good, the flatbread I had was ok -- nothing to rave about.

Daughter had the tortellini and I tasted it - it was extremely garlicly.

Her roommates had chicken salad - they each ate half and took the rest home -- they didn't comment on the food.

Husband had burger due to gluten restrictions and found it ok.

We had the Extinction and I thought it was just a RFC Volcano dressed differently.

Service was a little chaotic - they tried to serve us different food several times...and service was spotty.

I wouldn't judge a place on its first night - especially this type of place so I am sure we will return - especially with the younger kids in our life.

I attended the grand opening of T-Rex today and I was thoroughly surprised at how nice it is throughout. The food samples (all menu items) were very good (the bruschetta was FANTASTIC) and the decor is wonderful. I'd go to T-Rex over Rainforest any day.

Here is a video and some photos from inside the restaurant:

Wow it looks really neat inside! I can see a lot of little boys loving it there.

There were quite a few little boys there - only one I saw dressed in a dino top and dino shorts -- I told Mark he dressed for the opening hehehe.
