Gary, I love your car plate! I got one just like it! I bought it at the Poly last year when we visited that place. I even bought those coconut drink cups!

Do you think if I wear those flowers for the head (leis), do you think I will be going over board with my sarong?? I got those lei from Maui, the one for your head. Love them! And I thought this would be a nice oportunity to wear it!

Nice remodeling! Seems like a very slim chance we will get into one of the newer rooms since we are going in July but there is always next year!

Does anyone know the order of the remodel? We will be there December 1-11 and as of right now Im requesting Tahiti. I would love to have a "new" room!
I *think* that Tahiti should be done by then. They are starting with Aoretora and it will be complete August/September. Tahiti and Tokelau are next in line and the renovations seem to take about 3 months per longhouse. However, the order of the renovation is changing all the time :)

Good Morning Telly,

I love anything and everything about the South Pacific.

Telly I think you'd look great with flowers on your head
When in Disney it's perfectly normal and acceptable to celebrate the moment.
In 2001 my then 20 y.o. son wore his PotC hat/ hair combo around for a few days and then he picked up a racoon hat from Frontierland and wore that the remainder of our trip. CM's loved it as well as other quests. The only ones that thought other wise where the Safety Patrol on the Lake. He was in one of those little motor boats with the pirate hat on and the water patrol hot footed it over to him and asked what was up. In the Dis photo section there is a picture of him at the moment the patrol was coming to him. The album is under my name.

I'm bummed...first visit to Poly this July...was hoping for a renovated room in Tahiti or Tokelau...oh well, I guess I won't be disappointed. Looking so forward to it.

We just stayed at the Poly and we were in the Figi building. Very clean and had a great view. We loved it. This was our second time staying there. We love the atmosphere. Our boys love the volcano pool and slide. We also enjoyed sitting at the pool/beach area and watching the fireworks and the castle changing colors:love:

We had awesome weather too!! we were there May 11th through May 15th and then boarded the Disney Wonder.

We loved eating at Ohana too!

I've never stayed in a renovated room and have never been disappointed. I am really not looking forward to the newly decorated rooms. I've come to love the wild green leafy mirroe and the bamboo canopies! Both of which are not going to be there after the renovation. Go there with an open mind and you will not be sorry!

Don't worry, his site will be back up soon (by the 2nd week in June)!!!

Enjoy your 1st stay. We went there on our last trip for what was supposed to be a "once-in-a-lifetime stay at a deluxe resort" because of the extra cost....well, as you can see by my trip-ticker below, that didn't quite work out. After that one stay, we were instantly hooked!

Have fun and let us know how your trip went!!

Aloha,
G'n'G

Due to all the hits during his "retirement", the site exceded its bandwidth. It was mentioned that it shud be back on June 4th.

Just wanted to drop in and say that I will be leaving for the Poly tomorrow for our first stay there, so I will definitely check back in to let everyone know how it was!

Say Hi to Mickey for us! Hope you'll have a camera handy so you can take lots of pictures.

Thanks so much for starting this thread. We will be staying at the Polynesian from June 25th to July 1st. (I can't believe that it's only a month away.)

Mom2cinderella, your pictures were great.
