My kids (6 and almost 5) LOVED the Neverland Club and are begging to go back!

I am loving these pictures!!!!!!I went in the Neverland Club to check it out for my DGD in 2 years. I thought it was the best place for kids. Glad you got some different pictures, this is fun seeing the Poly through everyones pictures. WOW!

Gorgeous pictures...Thanks for posting them Mom2cinderella

Can I ask what camera you used for the shots and film speed?

Glad you liked them! :)

I use a Sony Cybershot 4.1 (digital) and then if I need to, I tweak the pics with Microsoft Picture It! Express.

Thanks for the info....do you keep the Sony set to auto mode or do you use one of the other settings like portrait or landscape, etc..?

Great pictures everyone! I will try to put some info into the first post about the Poly tomorrow like I have seen on all the other FAQ threads.

I have a question about requesting specific buildings, and what that does for chances of upgrades. A few days ago I came across Steve Tikiman's site, but didn't study it enough, figured I'd go back to it later, now I hear its unavailable so I'm hoping folks here can give me some guidance.
We're staying 4 nites in Early Sep. first time at Poly, very psyched. We have Garden view room booked. I think the following are my priorities, in order, before I worry about the view:
1. Larger room, we are 5, Me, DH, DD12, Twin DD's10. So space is key, also, do all rooms have just the day bed? Some descriptions talk about "pull out" sofa, I'm afraid the day bed might be small for my DD12.
2. Nonsmoking, may not be as big an issue from what others have posted but I tend to be sensitive even to smoke smell in the hall ways.
3. Convenient location, just not sure what this means for us, probably more interested in being on the TTC side, but again, maybe this isn't as important.
4. View, I guess. Again, this may not be critical because I think we'll be out of the room so much.
5. floor?? Maybe the 2nd would be a good compromise, and a balcony would be nice.

Or should I not even bother with specific building requests? We hope to arrive by 10am, I don't expect the room to be ready then, just want my tickets and we'll be on our way, but I'd like to increase my chances for a room to be ready by early afternoon.
Thanks for any advice.

That "Poly" is actually a short slang word that is offensive to some. I've read on the Echo board that CM's prefer "Polynesian".

Also, Captain Cooks shud not be called Captain Hooks pirate: also offensive to some.

Heres some words that I've been learning:

Aloha- I think we all know what that means
Mahalo- thanks
Mahalo nui loa- thanks very much
Mea I wae 'ia Mahalo- special thanks
Ho' o maika' I Mahalo- thanks + gratitude

I've been walking around the house practicing all the above for a couple of weeks now and I think the DW and kids believe I've gone

As to #1, IIRC from reading Tikimans site: Tokelau, Tahiti and one other (Rapa Nui?) have slightly larger rooms (~450 sq. ft vs. 400 sq. ft. in the others).

Also, IMHO, Tokelau may be the building you are looking for. It is close to the TTC, quiet pool, laundry area, Neverland club and the beaches where you can watch the fireworks. Also, all the rooms in Tokelau (and Tahiti and the other longhouse I can't remember) have a fully balcony (or patio on the first floor). I'm pretty sure Tokelau is all non-smoking, I'm sure someone else here could verify that for you. Like you, we were not too concerned with the view, but on our previous trip to the Polynesian we stayed garden view but did have a partial view of the lagoon.

Tokelau worked great for us, but I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay at the Polynesian no matter which longhouse you stay in (I know we will :)

Aloha

mom2cinderalla,
I could not see your pix, darn! I am interested in staying on the side with the boat landing, which is the fiji side, correct? We are going on June 9 and have a lagoon view booked. Which building should we pick? I would love to have a balcony. Must be non-smoking.

Help - anyone! We did not like being near the TTC, it felt so isolated and it was a HIKE to the volcano pool with young children. Thanks.

Well how about Samoa or Niue, Fiji or Tonga. I think they all have a lagoon view.
I think we shud have a map of the Polynesian Resort posted in here. I havent been able to figure it out yet tho.

Nuie and Samoa are gardenviews though you can get a nice lagoon view for free in the right Samoa room. Tonga has all suites in it I believe.

Thank you for the heads up!!! I feel bad because I always say Poly because I have been too lazy to type the whole word. But I will not make that mistake anymore. Sorry if I offended anyone!

Mom2cinderella: I loved those pictures. I have never seen the inside of The Neverland Club. It looks like alot of fun. About how far in advance do you need to reserve a place for your child?

Gary - I *think* my camera is on original factory settings. Aside from turning the flash off and on, I try not to mess with it - Ansel Adams I ain't!

stonecreekboys - I moved my Poly photos into a separate album. Hopefully you can see them here: Poly Album. Hopefully you don't have to sign in to see them - I hate that!

Minnie Bowser, I think I called for reservations at the 90 day mark, but I'm not 100% certain about that. It is an adorable little club, the kids loved it, and I felt really good about leaving them there.

 If we do make it to WDW this December, I think we are staying at WL. (DH and DS love it) Everytime I open this thread I get sadder and sadder.

:) Michele

oops - I'll try to say "Polynesian" too!
