Yes, the GF Cafe - really wanted to do this, but it is going to be hosting the PF's character dinner while PF is being refurbished (during our dates) :guilty:
Still searching - I know there are a lot of options, but I like to keep our dining close to "home" - makes it a LOT easier with our little ones. I so wish GF Cafe was going to be using it's normal menu while we're there...

Thanks for the response PolyAddict!

Are you avoiding the Poly TS locations: 'Ohana or Kona? I've not done 'Ohana for dinner, but I understand that there will likely be some kid friendly entertainment occurring during the meal. You could also consider Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL.

No prob, I know what it's like to want to keep it close and my kids aren't little, just lazy. I guess my next choice would be Concourse or Wispering Canyon

Oh - DEFINITELY not! We'll do at least 2 meals at Kona (love it!) and 1 at Ohana. Just trying to come up with one more that is nearby and easy to get to and from - on the monorail would be great. Then again, maybe we'll just hit Kona for a 3rd time! ;)

They restocked the H2O products daily last week! Of course I put them in my bag every morning to make sure they'd replace them ;)

Now if we could just get rid of that scratchy, cheap toilet paper and replace it with something a little more delicate--ditto the facial tissue. I know GF has some nice products. . .I guess when you stay there, you deserve to have softer products. :confused3

I was just wonder for those who have stayed at the Polynesian...what kind of goodies have you came back with from the resort other than the shampoo/soaps?

Me and my mom are BIG on souvenirs.

Leis, "Happy Anniversary" buttons, great H2O toiletries, Mickey coasters, and a personalized autographed pic of Mickey & Minnie inside a card from the Polynesian wishing us a happy anniversary. And tons and tons of pictures!!

Along with the normal bathroom stuff, we also came back with some very cool Mickey head coasters. They just fell into the bag? The welcome folder they give you is prime scrap book material also.

And don't forget the greeting Lei's. And the Poly. specific pressed pennies. And the refill mug at Capt. Cooks. We also paid 10.00 for a tiki head goblet. Very cool. Oh, yeah, you get a back scratcher when you get a Back Scratcher drink at the Tambu Lounge. It did come in very handy.

This thread is the best! And the tikiman site~ all been so helpful planning our trip. We have 3 kids- DS 5, DS 2-1/2 and DD 18mos ~ should we request a room with a patio or balcony? Balcony is always fun to look off but maybe a patio is easier entrance exit with the kids? Any thoughts? Thanks.

That is exactly what I am trying to decide...balcony or patio. After another recommendation now I am thinking of second floor even though there is no balcony because the convenience to the lounge. My biggest issue with leaving out the balcony is that I would feel uncomfortable leaving and not being able to lock the balcony door.

I have a question about the slide in the volcano pool. My DH wants to take our 3-year-old DD down it. From the pictures I have seen, it doesn't look like a slide for a young child. Is there another slide for children?

Thanks to anyone who can help me!!:wizard:

With kids, I'd recommend a patio. At first I wanted a balcony but the nice CM at the front desk politely insisted that a first floor room would be better. Boy am I glad I took her advice! My daughter could relax and play on the patio (we often had some duck visitors :) ) and I didn't have to worry about her climbing over the balcony.

Just my biased opinion. :thumbsup2

There is only one slide and someone asked the lifeguard when we were there and was told that the parent couldn't go down with a small child. YC/BC does have a slide for small children only if that makes a difference.

I will be staying at the Polynesian for 7 days mid September. It will be me, my DH and DS (18 months). My husband likes to snack, so I was thinking we need a longhouse near the GCH. I do not know how far of a walk it is if you stay on the outer ones. I am also thinking we would like a first floor to have a patio, so we can sit out there while DS is sleeping. It will be our anniversary, so I would also like our view. to be somewhat romantic. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you!

We stayed at the Poly 1st floor with our three young children. It worked out great. The ducks are one of our best memories. I requested another first floor room for out stay in May.princess: princess: princess:

We just returned from the Poly and found that the slide was not for our DGD> It is a lot of fun for the children who are not intimidated by a long dark tunnel, but our little one was afraid. I did not realize that it was totally enclosed or how big it was. The pool was nice and there were a lot of kids playing there, but she enjoyed the quiet pool much more, so we hung out there.

The patios were nice for us as well. We had originally requested a balcony, but as Stinkerbelle says, the patio is a nice place for the children, The "visitors" were welcome at our door too, with the littlle bolting out of bed in the morning to see them.

I liked Tokelau. We were facing the quiet pool so our view was of the foliage. Not as romantic as a lagoon or MK view, but very nice. We thought that the walk was not long at all.

Just a note about the patio rooms. The one we were in had bushes in front of it -- now I will tell you it was the honeymoon room so maybe that is why. It was wonderful to sit out on it, but there was no way to get to the sidewalk from there. Just wanted others who had patios to tell if they could get to the walkways or if they had the privacy and blockage of bushes.

I swear there could not be a bad room in the Poly. And the walk to the GCH is not bad from wherever you are. :thumbsup2

Our patio room was not blocked by foliage and we had a clear passage to the sidewalk. I noticed that there were some rooms that had planting beds in front of them though.
