Anyone have a lagoon view from Aotearoa?
We have a lagoon view for April and we are trying to decide which building. And it ooks like Aotearoa is closest to the GCH. I will be 6 months pregnant and we have a 3 year old, so after a long day at the parks, I though this building would be the most convenient, not just to transportation by to the GCH itself.

Thanks -

We were to the left of the elevators as you face them walking in the main entrance (technically closer to the GCH, but I consider Tahiti's proximity to the TTC priceless - it gave us options when we took the monorail back from the MK, we could take the resorts monorail or the express back to the TTC, whichever one was there). No big deal. I smelled no smoke whatsoever.

Sounds good, that was the section that I thought. Thanks for the info. I was also wondering if Hawaii Conc. has a MK view or just a LV? Just wondering in case a magical upgrade is offered or if my family wants to upgrade.

That I do not know, sorry:rolleyes2

Yes, the Hawaii concierge lagoon views do include rooms with Magic Kingdom views. In fact, probably most of them are Magic Kingdom view with the exception of any blocked by palm trees or foliage.

Hope that helps!:wave2: If you get that magical upgrade, take it!

Just returned from a week at the Poly and had a great time. We are a family of five and had plenty of room. No complaints whatsoever about the room or housekeeping. I had requested Tokelau but we were placed on 1st floor of Fiji. It turned out to be a much better location. It was about a 45 second walk to Captain Cook's and we had a great view of the Marina, the Contemporary, Space Mountain and the Electric Light Parade at night. We did not have to walk to far to view the fireworks at night outside our room by the Marina or on the beach. By the way, even if you do not attend Pirates and Princess party (we did not), try to catch the fireworks circa 10-1030 pm-they were really very good-seemed bigger than Wishes. We ate at Kona Cafe one evening which was good but not fabulous. The kitchen was backed up and it just took too long to complete the meal. We did not even bother to order dessert.:sad1: Food at Captain Cooks was pretty good-great pork sandwich and turkey club but did not care for the flatbread pizza. I had not stayed at the Poly since vacationing as a child with my parents in 1981 and I think it will always be my favorite. :thumbsup2

Is there somewhere at the Poly you buy a quick, on the go, breakfast, muffins etc? DH is against bringing poptarts, cereal bars etc to eat in our room, no clue why:confused3 . I know we want a quick breakfast so we can get to the parks early!

There a little coffee stand attached to Kona near the monorail stop at the GCH. You can get quick to go items there. Cap'n Cooks should also have quick (and not so quick) breakfast items.

Captain Cooks has muffins, danish, granola bars and yes, Pop Tarts for quick grab and go. I remember the Pop Tarts because as soon as I saw them I remembered I'd brought some along. There are also juices and water in the refrigerated cases.

My preference is for the Kona Coffee stand purely because of the coffee. :thumbsup2 They have nice muffins and danish as well.

Go for it with the granola bars and such.

We found them GREAT for two things-- on our early park days (when we had them on the way and then grabbed snack credit items mid-am in the parks) and on the days we had later ADRs for character b-fasts. (like 1045am)

We really made use of that Kona coffee stand-- I had a coffee from there everyday on the way to wherever we were going. Not a latte, etc ($$$ and calories, too) But the regular coffee is really good there-- no need to flavor it up with syrup, etc.

We are going to be staying at WDW from May 13 to 18th, first at the VWL, then transferring to the Poly for the rest of our stay. I understand about the transfer of our luggage, but how do we get to the Poly? The transportation system for resort to resort is a little confusing to me. I would like to know as much before hand, so as not to wander around looking dumb? and wasting our time. Does anyone know this? and could anyone tell me about the park tickets, I dont really understand the system there either? I was to understand that our room ticket was also our park ticket? then how do we do that if we switch resorts? We've been to WDW a few times and each time the park ticket system changes on me. HELP!!:confused3

Yes, I'm new to this, and I was corrected once already, I dont have all the abrev. right yet. I mean the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge.

Take the ferry from VWL to MK. Then take either the monorail or ferry from MK to the Polynesian. Have a great time. We just came back from a super time at the Poly!

Thanks for the info. I'm glad you had a good trip. I was reading several recent posts, and some families had a really awful time at the poly. This is a first trip to WDW for my fiance, and its been several years for a vacation of any kind for my two boys 16, and 10, and we are sooo looking to have a good time. I am now very aprehensive about spending all that money, if its not a good resort? We've stayed at the POR before and had a wonderful time, I just wanted something special on this trip. What to do???
