**** The Official October 2014 - Disneyland Resort Thread ****

We are attending our first MHP on Monday 10/20. We have been AP holders for 20+ years and always go in Nov/Dec. I am excited to see everything and for my kids to experience it. We have to skip Disneyland next year because we are going to Aulani for my sister's wedding! We will be staying at the Best Western Meridian Inn and Suites 10/18-24! Traveling with a family of 14!

We will probably park hop most days but our touring plan is to start at DLR on the 22nd, 26th and 27th. We will be at rope drop in DCA on the 23rd and 25th. On the 24th we will not go to DL until 3 hours prior to the party we are attending that night. We have 7:30 dinner reservations at Goofy's on the 21st and breakfast at Surf's up on the 24th. I am planning to attach a lime green Mickey to the stroller. Should we cross paths, I would love to say 'hi' to any Dis'ers.

Love to meet up. We are from Germany ans stay at the Fairfield Inn 10/24-10/28. Never been to DLC or CA before..so excited

i too think a meetup would be really cool. hopefully if enough people are interested we can set some up

Regarding i.d. If you should decide to use an image of the Cheshire kitty, do keep in mind, that from time to time people might not be able to see it because the Cheshire breed of cats are infamous for disappearing at will, so it would be a good idea to have a backup form of i.d.

you and Swtonscrappn are doing goofy's on same day, would be cool if your paths crossed and you and i are rope dropping together on the 23rdiwillwatch for you so be sure to watch for me!!

How do you plan a meet up? I know that sounds stupid...I guess Im asking..."what does one do at a meet-up?" I would be happy to help organize something for the morning of Tues, Oct 21st or the morning of Weds, Oct 22nd (we are leaving that afternoon). Should I start another thread for it?

Swtonscrappn are doing goofy's on same day, would be cool if your paths crossed

Unfortunately, Im doing Goofy's about 12 hours before she is LOL. So a meetup will have to be planned. I can get a dis green mickey head on my gear to help be recognizable.

The check-in thread (which is this thread) should be the thread for meet-ups. No need for a separate thread. Just find out who else is going on your date by looking at the list that Dena has compiled, and see who wants to meet up!

I saved a post at beginning of thread to post all proposed meetups and whatnot. Whenever someone wants to plan a meetup they can just post it in a normal thread and i can add it to meetup post for all to see, including who is planning to attend.

Been a few days since anyone has posted here so I just thought I would say....."I'm so excited" only 25 more sleeps until we leave and 26 until we are in disneyland! I can hardly wait to hear some initial reports on the MHP.

Also we are now staying at DoubleTree Suites instead of Worldmark.

I'm also really looking forward to everyone who has early trips to report back. We still have over 30 days and it's getting harder to keep the secret the closer we get to travel day lol.

20 sleeps for us!!! It's been an extended exciting countdown for us as I planned a trip for my brother's friend and his son and they are there right now. They return on Wednesday, and then our best friends leave that day to take their family down for a week. Woohoo! By the time our trip arrives in 3 weeks I'll have officially been able to join in the excitement of 3 different families' disney countdowns .

Okay, I'll play! Here are my dates. (I switched to the HoJo because I changed my plans slightly and PPH or DLH no longer worked).

Dates:
Wed, October 22: DLP (all day)
Thur, October 23: DCA (all day)
Friday, October 24: DLP and MHP
Saturday, October 25: Hopping and shopping!

ADRs:
Wed: Dinner at Cafe Orleans
Thur: No ADRs, planning on Al Fresco Tasting Terrace or CC Lounge for drinks and apps
Fri: Lunch at Blue Bayou; Pre-Party dinner at Carnation Cafe
Saturday: 10:30 "brunch" at Carnation; dinner at Carthay

(As part of the gamification in which I live my life, I'm challenging myself to eat all meals in park to try as many places as I can!)

Additional things: I'll be doing a juju hunt, having a pumpkin treat crawl with friends (no dates for those yet) and doing Mad T Party Saturday night.

Finally going next week. Six years ago, my dear wife passed away. The next week a couple of young friends gave birth to a baby boy. They called me to the hospital and officially adopted me as Grandpa since I was alone. Holding Henry in the hospital that day I told him that Grandma wanted to wait for him but God needed her in Heaven. BUT, she told me to tell him that when he was six years old we were to go to Disneyland, one of her favorite places in the whole world; it's where we had our first date. Henry is now six and we're finally going.
Staying at the GCH for three nights 9/29-10/2 for me, two little boys (Henry and his 3 year old bro, Will) and their Mommy and Daddy. Two rooms, park view. Character breakfast at Storytellers. Staying at the Staybridge Suites the night before (we're flying in from Tucson) for logistical reasons. These boards have been a Godsend, thank you all.

I think I've got most of my plans out there, but here's a consolidated version:

Vacation dates: 10/22-10/26
Hotel: Disneyland Hotel

Parks:
10/22: Arrive late afternoon, DTD only
10/23: DLP
10/24: DCA in the morning, DLP for MHP in evening
10/25: Park hopping
10/26: DCA in Morning, park hopping until late afternoon

ADRs:

10/22: RB Jazz Kitchen, 7pm
10/23: Blue Bayou, 11:30pm
10/25: PCH for Surf's Up character breakfast, 9:30am

We're driving from the Bay Area, so arrival and departure times are loose.

Costumes for MHP:

Me: none, just disneywear
My mom: same as me, plus insane hat, knowing her, lol
DD: Sally-lite (no wig, light makeup, dress patterns not exact)
DS: Fix-It Felix

So that is probably too much information, but that's all of our trip info. Can't wait for October 22!
