Good morning!

GEMS - WAY TO GO! 90% - awesome! :thumbsup2

Hi Jill! I am thinking of you too! :goodvibes

FF - sorry you are still feeling badly. I am starting to feel better after 3 weeks so maybe it will just take its sweet time to heal like mine?

SL - glad to hear Lucas' appt went well. As for the Crocs, I never, EVER, thought I would get a pair because they are just so ugly. But so many people wear them at WDW and I found a good deal on them so I tried them. They are as comfy as everyone says they are!

nucpharm - I am in the same boat as you, thrilled it is finally election day! If I see one more political bashing ad on TV I will lose it. HAPPY OFFICIAL BIRTHDAY MATTHEW!

GLT - that is rough to not have a car. I am sorry you have to deal with that. :grouphug:

Robin - I certainly hope and pray you are feeling better!!! Especially with COF starting in just two days!!! I had sworn off Gymboree but with some of the markdowns and COF I am going to go in and see what I can get for a good deal. Maybe some coats for the kids, though we use them so infrequently here.

hillbeans - glad you had a good time at the show....is Liam sleeping better these days?

diskim - what time did Alex get in from boy scouts last night? I think that is crazy to have a 6 year old at a meeting at 8:30pm with school the following day! Have fun at the Xmas spectacular!

And hello to the moms I missed! :wave2: Have a great day!

Not sure if you ladies saw the clip on the CB with Faith Hill losing an award last night to Carrie Underwood at the CMA's, but it's pretty funny. I guess Faith's true colors came out yesterday..... ;)

Floridafam - As long as the brusing is only on the legs I wouldn't worry too much about it. If the bruising is on the torso, back or stomach, that could indicate a blood disorder. I know this only because DH had one when he was 4 and was hospitalized and his mom told me what to look for. Once Kevin had a ton of bruises on his legs and shins, (just being clumsy) and I got worried - but it was nothing. I would just keep an eye on it and see if you can find out what he's doing.

Diskim - Hope your DH and son got home after you called. Isn't there any way they could move the meetings to start at 6:30 instead of 7? Oh, and Mary Poppins is right in the center of Times Square at the New Amsterdam theatre. They have seats in the back for as low as $20, so it can be affordable for the whole family.

Lissawynn - Fingers crossed for you. I heard we were to get rain later this evening. They will hopefully come through for you today.

Zalansky - No, Liam still wakes up once or twice a night :guilty: . I just gave up on trying and hope one day he'll outgrow it. He has only slept through the night 3 times since Birth. He is the lightest sleeper i've ever seen. He wakes up to my alarm from across the hall even...

Gotta run - more later!

:grouphug: HUGS to Gottalovethem :grouphug:

GLT- I'm so sorry you are still carless. That has to be hard. Is there at least a few stores nearby so if you need milk or something you can get it? Can a neighbor help you get your DD to and from school instead of you having to drag the kids out in that cold?

Tamie- Sorry the picture session was a bust. Hopefully the next one will be great. I can't believe you get to go to Disney in just a few more days! Is this the trip where you are staying at the Beach Club?

Gems- WTG on the test! I'm sorry your arms are all messed up now- I had that happen a couple times. I now just tell them to get it out of my hand; the veins in my arms suck.

SL- Glad Lucas's shots went well- have fun voting! Oregon is a strictly vote by mail state now, so we mailed our ballots some time ago. Keeping my fingers crossed for certain outcomes.

lissa- PRAYING for no rain and that those contractors work their booties off today! Come on- they can't leave holes in your house in the middle of autumn! Hopefully it will all work out.

Hi Diz!

FF- My sons often have lots of bruises on their shins- I attribute it to just being rambunctious boys. Your DS doesn't bruise easily all over, does he? Then I might be worried about something more serious. But if it's just the shins, I think that's normal....it's kind of funny with Molly- when my boys were this age, they were so rough and tumble, and a little klutzy, that they would almost always have a big bruise on their forehead from tripping or falling. I don't think Molly has had one yet. I guess she's just a bit more coordinated and more careful.

Nucpharm- Happy Official Birthday to Matthew! Glad you are going to just take it easy today. I am excited about the Gymbo sale, although I truly should only spend about $20. I'm thinking of dragging my mom there on Thursday and see if she will grab the kids some stuff for Christmas.

Hi Jill! Are you getting close to the 4 week mark now? You were chanting 5 weeks several days ago, right!?

Hi to all the other mommies- Tasha, you must be really busy with school. Check in when you can! Ryan- everything OK in your neck of the woods? And I am assuming J&D's computer is still down...

Ugh, I think Molly is up. She decided to have another party last night between 2-3 or some ungodly hour. I finally just put her back in her crib (after 30-40 minutes of kicking us, talking, climbing on us) and she cried for about 20-30 minutes and FINALLY fell asleep. I was not happy, as I had already been up to the restroom once or twice. I was just so tired and grumpy last night, it wasn't pleasant. I am hungry this morning, but my lower GI tract is still not right, so I don't want to eat much. I sucked on a Tootsie Roll and had some dry toast. What a thrill.

Hillary - I didn't see the clip....what happened?

Happy Birthday Matthew!!! :cake:

Hillbeans - OMG! What was she thinking? I would love to hear a response from her about it.

gotta run - I'll hop back on at nap time.

here's from faithhill.com

"The idea that I would act disrespectful towards a fellow musician is unimaginable to me. For this to become a focus of attention given the talent gathered is utterly ridiculous. Carrie is a talented and deserving female vocalist of the year."

Still doesn't say what the heck the face and yell was for.

ohmigosh - hillbeans...I'm not a big country fan, but I checked out the clip. What was that??? And she's always all over the magazines for being such a "Mrs. Wonderful"...

lissawynn - crossing my fingers for light or no rain for you guys! It's amazing to see the changes each day! Hope you can stay warm and dry!

sl - glad your big boy is doing so great!!

robin and hillbeans - Hannah has always bruised easily everywhere - mostly arms and legs, but if she falls, her back can get bruised as well. The doctors have never really done or said anything when I mention it...should I force them to look into it?

Well, I need to run errands as I just fed Carson. DH left his bag of volleyballs from the Park District at the game on Saturday...he just figured this out. I called the school and they haven't seen them...hoping a team mom picked them up. I now have to go buy one or two balls for practice tonight. Just what I want to do, ya know? Check in later!

Lissawynn- I hate having to wear work clothes too. On days when I have to wear my suit, I change as soon as I get home! I’m sorry Jimmy has been such a pill. I hope your roof goes up quickly.

Val- I’ll keep my eyes open for a music box.

Hillbeans- Glad you really enjoyed Mary Poppins. I love being close to NYC too. That clip from the CMA awards was hysterical

DisKim- How exciting that you’re going to Radio City. I’ve only seen the Christmas sow once, when I was about 10. $49 seats for the first row sounds fantastic! I love the big Toys R Us too :)
Sorry about the boy scouts meeting! I can’t believe anyone would keep six year olds out so late on a school night like that.

GLT- I hope you get your car back soon!

Tykes- Sorry the pictures turned out poorly.

Gems- congratulations on the test scores!

SL- Glad to hear Lucas’ checkup went well. Poor little guy with the shots! Olivia goes for her seven month check-up tomorrow, and I think she’s getting another two shots.

Alice- Sorry you’re having such a tough time with your health lately! Hopefully it will all clear up so you’ll be really healthy through all the holidays.

The carpets are being cleaned at the office today, so I’m attempting to work from home. Olivia is really interested in playing though and NOT so interested in letting me get anything done. I did get her to roll across the floor on her own though. She’s finally getting the idea that she can move herself around on her own.

DH is working crazy hours tonight because of the elections. OK back to work for me. I’m hoping to finish this motion so I can go out and get some shopping done for my Christmas exchange.

I'm indifferent towards most musicians these days, but my ONLY guess if she was joking, that she was making a play on the fit Kanye West threw at that awards show in Europe. You would think Faith Hill has been through enough awards ceremonies to have the 'loser smile for the camera' down pat. :confused3

DH won't be home tonight. He is going downtown with his political friends to watch the returns at a fancy hotel. The funny thing is, all his friends he will be hanging with are affiliated with the other political party than DH is; it will be funny to hear them cheering and whooping when a D wins, and DH whooping and hollering when a R wins. :joker: My *only* political thing I will say here, is that if the Ds take over the house or the senate, they better not revoke my child tax credits put in place by Bush a few years ago. That has meant some nice money for us at tax time! Esp with 3 kids now. Certainly enough for us to pay off some bills each year, or this year let us take this nice vacation to WDW.

That's all I have to say about that.

I went and took Joshua to school today because both he and Sam have lost sweaters/jackets the last week and have gotten, "Mom, I can't find them ANYWHERE." Yeah, one was front and center on the lost and found table, and the other was tucked a bit and not so obvious on the lost and found wall, but wasn't THAT hard to spot....esp cause it's orange and blue- that orange is pretty obvious. Oh well, I'm just glad I found them, as Sam's jacket retailed for 80-something dollars (I only paid $18 for it last May), and Joshie's was a nice Gymbo pullover fleece. A hand-me-down, but still.

I called my mom and we are going to the mall on Thursday. I cannot wait. I need some Clinique soap and mascara (since I had to throw mine out with the pink eye)....the best part is, I realized I made a
double payment on my stupid Macy's card, so I have a $25 credit. Basically I can get my stuff without a new charge on the card. Then I will check out Gymbo for hopefully some GREAT deals- I will look on the website to see what I want costs (going to TRY and stay away from the new stuff, but dang some of that Peruvian doll stuff is TDF) and make my budget from there. I think we are going to the mall with the Cheesecake Factory, so maybe we can grab lunch there. The boys don't have school on Thursday and Friday, so they can hang out with Grandpa while we girls shop.

I went thru the McD's drive thru and got a large Coke and a regular, plain hamburger and ate about 1/2 of it...so far it is sitting well. At least I have probably lost a pound or two. :teeth:

Oh, one small gripe. Last night I was talking with my MIL, and then handed the phone to DH. He was grumpy last night and was kind of being a jerk to his mom, but she usually starts it by saying something jerky herself. Often when they have a conversation that isn't 100% pleasant, she calls me the next day, fishing to find out what is wrong. It bugs me! Sometimes I think she just can't handle that she rubs him the wrong way and nothing else is wrong. She wants me to say, "Oh, he was tired, or he was mad about something, or he is stressed with work." But the truth is, she can be such a dingbat and he gets easily irritated with her attitude. OK, thanks for letting me gripe a bit

Alice- I finished my motion, so I'm just waiting for Olivia to get up before going shopping. Of course I hadn't seen the Peruvian Doll line until you just mentioned it in your post and I LOVE it. OMG, too cute! I could blow all the money I just earned on this motion!

Hi mommies. Quick ?...What do you recommend for diaper rash? Aidan is horribly raw on his bum from the diarreah he's had since Sunday. Balmex and Calumete powder are not helping and I even tried Lansinoh in desperation. Any other thought/suggestions?

I know, it's killing me. I have only spent about $35 on Gymbo since early Sept. I want the denim overalls, a top to go underneath then, the a-line top with the dollies, the skirt, and the stripey-design tights to go with the skirt. And a sweater (like Molly doesn't have enough sweaters!). And the dolly socks. Not to mention a few clearance items, plus a couple shirts for the boys. Did I tell you gals the Gymbo boards I used to frequent got closed down? The owner got in a snit with some of the mods, so she shut the whole boards down! There is another Gymbo boards I rarely frequent- it's probably a good thing. I like having advance notice of the sales and lines, but that's it.

Like I said, I am *hoping* my mom will want to buy Molly an outfit or two, and maybe a shirt for the boys. We have a small charge card balance I want to pay off with the next two paychecks, and to do that, I can't go spending $100 or so at Gymbo. :guilty: It's just so tempting with the 30% off!

I will say though, that Gymbo almost always does a 30% off your purchase the day after Thanksgiving, for those of us who can't spend too much this weekend. Sometimes it's only til noon of Black Friday, but last year I ordered online at 9PM Thanskgiving night and it was great. OH, and the "Jingle Deal" is supposed to change this Thursday to all full prices Jammies being marked down to about $10 after the Circle of Friends discount! And all 3 of my kids need a pair of jammies, so this is a great deal!

OK, I need to put Molly down for a nap, and I need to attempt to vacuum and clean up the boy's room. Amazing how the house can go to semi-clean to a pit when Mom is out of commission for 12 hours.

I would put him in lukewarm water in the tub with a bunch of baking soda in the water. Then let him really dry out (even use a hair dryer) before you put the diaper back on him. Sometimes when my kids' rash was super bad, I would put some antibiotic ointment on it. If it doesn't get better, you pediatrician can probably prescribe some heavy duty ointment, but try the antibiotic ointment first. I hope he feels better soon!

How are you doing?

AHHHH!!! I just looked at the Peruvian Doll collection! Too cute!

I had sworn off Gymbo because I bought soooo much and every time Cami wears it I am nervous she will stain it all up. Which is ridiculous to worry about a baby staining clothes! But, I do. So I started buying Carters and some cheaper things but I have to say I love the look of Gymboree and it is made much better, quality wise. So I am hoping to hit some markdowns and then get the 30% off and I can usually do well. I may run over today, our Gymboree's here let us put stuff on hold until Thursday.

I can't believe Faith Hill....she is such a sweet person usually. :confused3

Robin - We tried to give Aidan a bath last night but it just seemed to painful. Do you think the baking soda will help with that? He usually loves tubbie time but he was screaming such bloody murder we gave up. Honestly, I think I am being tested. Between this bug, his "male part" drama and my own medical issues I really think someone is trying to find out just what I'm made of. Thankfully dh was home yesterday and came home early today to lend a hand. He's home Thursday and Friday too, so I should survive! ;)

bellacam - You poor thing!! We love A&D, the clear kind not the creamy. Our dermatologist swears by it. She said it's nice and gentle. :hugs:

alice - Yes, our upcoming trip is the Beach Club one. I can't wait to stay there. Just 4 more days!!! I have a bunch of stuff laid out, but not put in a suitcase yet. I need to go over my list again. I might run my itinerary by you ladies since my DH and Mom are sick of hearing about it!

Shoot, sorry for the short post. DH is home and we are going to vote and go grab dinner. Bye!!

Vaseline and powder may do the trick, and use wet paper towels to clean him up rather than wipes. Within a day it should improve.

And I had to comment about being tested. Because I was just thinking that this a.m. when I was reviewing what the kids did at Sunday school and it said something about having to believe that what you need will be there when the time is right, as that I exactly where I am right now. I am just hoping that what I need will be there when I need it the most :wizard: :wizard: Good luck to you. :grouphug:

Last thing on the car front and then I won't harp on it anymore. Long story short I have no car and will not any time soon. It's about 1 mile to dd's school (and 1 mile back). DH drops her off in the a.m. and the boys and I head out there in the afternoon to pick her up. We have tried the double stroller, bikes, scooters and today, the Barbie Jeep --- it actually made it there and back :cheer2: I had my doubts. The problem with our double stroller is that it's a side by side and Leif's new game is to lean forward as far as he can go, I'm afraid of him falling out, so that's a no go.

No, the nearest store is even further than the school. I do have some friends that I probably can call on in an emergency. I don't know anyone in dd's class and it seems none live too close -- well one does, but she's an alcoholic I was told, so not going there.. . .DH gets home around 7 or 8 so I can always have him pick something up on his way home if I need it.

I have friends taking DS to preschool 2x a week, as that is too far to walk. I do have to see if a bus goes near his school, for dd's school it would take longer/walk nearly as far, to take the bus.

Anywho, I'm sure I'll have interesting stories for you ladies as the days go on. Maybe it'll toughen up my kids who still say daily, MOOOOOOM I don't want to walk......

Gotta go figure out dinner plans. Hope to catch up later.

bellacam - The Bordeaux Butt Paste is supposed to work really well on diaper rash. I also like the clear Balmex. I use that on my hands when they're all chapped and dry. I agree that a good soak in some warm water is in order. I have used the hair dryer to dry off Jimmy's parts a few times. That way I know he's dry.

Alice - I hope you got some good shopping trip. I'll have to check out the new line at Gymbo. I'm not buying any girl stuff unless it's really marked down. I got some great deals there on Black Friday last year and got my Gymbucks, too.

Ginamarie - I just got the three pairs of maternity pants from the Gap. The
first pair I bought is so comfy and I'm hoping these will be, too.

dizagain - The house is much warmer now that the sheeting is on the roof. Maybe the tarp is helping, too.

Hillbeans - I have to watch the clip again now that I'm home. I couldn't really see what was going on while I was at school.

I hope you all have a good night. I'm praying for light rain and no wind. My house all tarped over.

Bellacam- I saw your post on the CB about the rash, and I agree with some of those posters- it may be something yeasty. Sam had that once- a BAD diaper rash turned into a sort of yeast infection and he had to get prescription cream. If it's not any better tomorrow, I would call. I also like the one poster's idea of letting him nap without the diaper as long as enough towels are put down. I found that 'naked time' helped a lot.

I know all about feeling tested. I often thought of the saying, "Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." So true, so true. That being said, Bellacam and GLT, I am thinking of you both and know that you will get through these tough times.

GLT- :grouphug: :grouphug: I would think if you live over a mile from your kids' school there should be bus service. At least that's the rule of thumb here in Oregon- for public schools anyway.I just think of those bitter Wisconsin winters I hear of, and I feel so badly that you are without a car trying to get those kiddoes from school! I don't suppose that your DH can take mass transportation or carpool with someone even 1-2 days a week, so you have a car at least those days?

Tamie- I would LOVE to hear your itinerary! I dig that part of planning, and as you all know, I love to share my plans, and in turn, I love to hear everyone else's plans! So, share! Tell us your ADRs, which park on what days, favorite attractions you hope to hit, snacks you hope to nibble on, etc., etc. :cool1: My ticker seems to be moving really, REALLY slowly lately!

Who else cannot believe Thanksgiving is two weeks from Thursday? Not me!
Anyone going out of town for it? We are staying here, just going to mom and dad's for dinner. I saw that one of the grocery stores has Butterballs for only .59 a pound if I spend $25 on groceries. I think I will tell mom I will get the turkey, for that price! That's a great deal. I have to grocery shopping tomorrow anyway. I must say I am excited for DH to be HOME! He wasn't here the last two Thanksgivings and that and July 4th are his favorite holidays. And remember, last Thanksgiving I slipped in the darn mud and hurt my knee? Won't be doing that this year! I hope! So, here's to a fantastic Thanksgiving for all of us! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes
