Alice - I hope you parents came to help you. Get some rest and feel better soon!

Ginamarie - If things don't go smoothly with this addition, I may be seeking some legal advice. I just hope he sticks to his original plan and it gets done in the next 5 weeks.

DisKim - I hope Emmy is feeling better soon. Btw, did you steam the paper before you scraped it off? I use a bug sprayer filled with HOT water and white vinegar. It really helps the paper come off quickly.

dizagain - I remember the days of Jimmy peeing all over the place. Usually it landed on my grandmother's bedroom set, which we put in his room. The furniture was in excellent shape and the thought of water marks on it made me want to hurt someone.

 Hi Betsy and welcome!

floridafam - I hope you and your DH are feeling better soon!

zalansky - Your Crocs look great! They put my navy ones to shame.

gems - I can relate to being kicked a lot. Annabel kicks me ALL the time. I swear, from the time I wake up until I go to sleep, she's kicking me.

Val - I hope you made it through your day and left with all of your fingers. Nothing is worse than finding body parts in your lunch meat.

I have to go home and change before I pick up Jimmy. I hate wearing work clothes and would love to live in my sweats until the baby arrives!

Hugs to all you sick mommies and kids out there (and dh in floridafams case). I hope everyone feels better soon!!!

alice - Gosh you are wonderwoman. I can't believe you wrangled up the cats and kids to get to the vet. I would have rescheduled. Your DH sounds like a great guy, but he did deserve that guilt trip on this one. I hope the puking is done with soon for your household.

zalansky - That Minnie is so cute! I hope you feel better soon. 3 weeks is insane.

ff - Sorry you have no voice and DH is home sick!

lissawynn - Great pics of the house! I love construction pictures!

diskim - Sorry Emmy is sick. Removing wallpaper is the worst!!!

diz - Oh my, I guess Carson did get ya good! I still have to get that diaper on quickly for fear that Tyler might run off naked and pee on the carpet.

ginamarie - that's impressive that the issue didn't go to litigation, bummer for you though!

fab - Sorry to hear your computer went screwy! Nice to see you.

betsy - WDW trips are super addicting aren't they? Have fun planning your next one!

Tyler is being such a monster today. He's napping now and I really hope for both of our sakes that he wakes up much nicer than he was this morning. I did get some cough syrup in him twice today with no puking, so that was good.

DH gets home today. Even better than him coming home is that he's shaving his fall-hunting-manly beard off today!! I can't stand that thing and I'm so happy it's going bye-bye today!

Feel better everyone and no one else get sick ok?

tamie

Tamie,
I'm glad you got the cough syrup in Tyler. It's so hard when they barf up their medicine. Yay for the beard going bye-bye. I'm not a big fan of facial hair either.

Lissa,
Holy crap on your house! I would have cried to see my house with no roof. Although it looks like things are really moving along well :thumbsup2 . I asked my dh if he thinks we could ever add up to our house like you did and he said he doesn't think the beams would support it :guilty: . I think it will be so nice for you when you are done.

GM,
Too funny about you never getting to court. I'm sure you get a lot of refferal business since you are such an efficient lawyer :) .

Diskim,
There was some hideous wallpaper in our house but I got rid of it quickly. The pattern in the bathroom was so awful I made dh rip it down before we actually moved in  . I hope Emmy feels better soon.

dizagain,
I think we have all been there with the messy baby deal. And boys sure are good pee-ers aren't they. Your secret is safe with us about using the bed for changing :thumbsup2 .

Robin,
You poor thing! Dh better kiss some major butt when he gets home. I hope you all feel better quickly.

Loretta,
I love the minnies. Unfortunately all my croc - like shoes are either the Airwalk brand or the Nothinz brand and they have diamond shaped holes :( . I hope you feel better very soon.

FF,
I hope you and your dh feel better soon. It's so hard when both parents are out of commision.

Fab,
I hope you get your tech issues solved quickly. I can't stand when my computer breaks down :sad2: .

Gems,
I'm sure you will do just fine with the big balloon order :thumbsup2 . Good luck at the doctor's.

Well, my boss actually just showed me how to use the slicer today so I never even had to touch it :) . Tomorrow we will see how I do. I am so itching to finish my Christmas shopping but I really should wait for the big November sales. I do have a favor to ask of you ladies. I am looking for a jewelry box for Katrina. I'd really like it to be musical and around $20. I'm having such a tough time finding one that I love. If anyone sees one online, please let me know if you could. Thanks :) .

I'm off to spend some time with the kiddos. Talk to you later :wave2: .

Hi Ladies,

I am so glad DH is home today from Pittsburgh! He was gone for 2 nights and it was rough with the kids! I was also trying to clean the house before my dad came over, so it was kind of a two steps forward, one step backwards process. At least I got a lllooonnngggg day out of the house yesterday to see Mary Poppins!

Mary Poppins was WONDERFUL!!!!!! :thumbsup2 Honestly, I was never a huge fan of the movie, but the play was one of the best Broadway shows i've ever seen. The sets were very elaborate, lots of nice costumes, singing, dancing, and audience participation. They couldn't have cast a better " Mary Poppins", she is excellent. If anyone is looking for a family friendly play to see while in NYC, this is it. Disney just goes all out for Broadway shows.

And Robin - yes, I do live close to a lot of things - that's one of the benefits of living in the New Jersey (minus the mosquitos and the mob ;) ). I live only an hour away from NYC and the beach - and that's probably one of the reasons we stay in NJ. How has the weather been out by you? I heard the Pacific NW had been getting bad weather over the weekend.
Oh, and I had my kitten fixed and had to keep that awful cone on her head for 14 days! After day 11 I was so sick of how she kept scratching it I took it off and she's not touched her stitches once. I got back wed. to get them out.

Ginamarie - LOL - you are a good attorney! Just think, that woman will have to recommend you to all of her friends and family!

Lissawynn - Wow, those are some pictures! Your house will look great when it's all done! Is the neighbor having her house done at the same time also?

Tamie - Have a wonderful Trip to WDW! Take lots of pics of the Beach Club!Kevin used to projectile vomit cough medicine, so I just stopped giving it to him. I'd try to slip it in his juice but then he'd say it tasted funny. If I had to give him medicine now, i'd probably do it in his sleep - no kidding. Liam is not nearly as bad.

Val - Good luck with the slicer - you go girl! :woohoo:

Loretta - I haven't gotten into the "Crocs" phenomenon, but yours are cute with the Minnie on them. Maybe they should give you a new antibiotic?

Jill - I keep telling DH that i'd love to go buy a girly halloween costume or just once get to go girls clothes shopping. I do shop for my friend's kids and usually buy them clothes just to go and pick out cute pink frilly shirts. I think the girls bathing suits are by far the cutest thing to shop for - and the matching terry zip-up.

Gems - Congrats on your Balloon order! Sorry the baby is kicking you a lot - OUCH!!!!! :hyper:

Fabumouse - So glad you're back - and definitely go wireless!!! :surfweb:

WELCOME to Betsy and Eliza!!! princess: princess:

Dizagain - OMG - you poor thing!!!!!! Poor Carson! Nothing is worse then when they wee-wee themselves in the face!!

Joats - LOL at the pictures from the party, and the cake. I just love the wig on Jace!

Nucpharm- Great pics of the family. Your hair looks so cute! I thought the pic of Emma looking at Matthew in his high chair was really sweet!

Bellacam - Hope Aidan feels better and Happy Belated Anniversary!! :goodvibes

Floridafam - sorry to hear everyone is so sick. Feel better soon!!! :wizard:

Jill - that desk set is beautiful. How generous of your parents to buy it for you AND to come over and paint. Think your parents would adopt me??? :teeth:

Diskim - What I don't understand is how people "paint" over wallpaper. Doesn't it peel up over time? We have some wallpaper in our house, our downstairs bathroom has a "fly fishing" wallpaper - LOL. Sorry to hear Emily has been so sick.

Gotta run ladies! Talk to you all soon.

I am very cautiously saying I think the throwing up for me is over. For the first time all day my stomach doesn't hurt and is tolerating some liquid. That was awful.

The weather here is WACKY. It's pouring rain, has been all weekend, but it's 67 degrees or so outside!?! Am I in Hawaii, or Oregon? Crazy. There is some flooding starting to happen, landslides, etc. Our neighborhood is fine so far. We live up on a hill, so we're not in a flood zone, although the river is only a half mile away or so.

Hillary- sounds like the musical was so great! I always want to go see the plays and musicals when they tour thru Portland or Seattle, but it rarely works out. Although Portland has a ton to offer, and I wouldn't move for the world, sometimes I miss living in San Jose- the beach so close, San Fran less than an hour away, DL only 5.5 hours away. Oh well, like we could afford more than a garage to live in, in San Jose!

Val- glad you came home with all digits in tact. ;) What kind of music box? Really girly? Wooden? Plastic? I will keep my eye out.

Tamie- sorry Tyler is being a monster for you. And happy early birthday to you! I noticed it when I looked up your email address in our mom's 'directory.' At least I think I looked at that right- and buh-bye to DH's beard!

Kim- peeling wallpaper is such a pain. I can't do it in my house, as the walls are all slightly uneven- I tried it and spent a fortune on gorgeous paper and it all bubbled and peeled off. :furious: My mom has had her share of peeling wallpaper and she hates it too. Good luck with slowly getting it off!

Diz- have you seen those 'pee-pee tee-pees?' I've seen them at specialty shops and they are a crack up. Both Josh and Sam got themselves several times as babies, and once or twice got me as well. I won't tell about you using your bed either....I do that too sometimes.

GM- I'm sorry you will have to give back that retainer, but hopefully that lady will steer other customers your way in the future!

Well, my back is aching after all that...don't you hate that? I feel like a truck ran over me. I had to go meet Josh as the bus, since Sam wasn't there with him today. But today was one of the days where all the neighborhood kids rode the bus, so he wasn't alone like I feared he might be. And I called the vet- the kitties did well getting fixed and I will go get them around 4. Don't want to, but hopefully they can just swipe my credit card and give me the cats. And I'm hoping they don't have the cone- they are boy kitties, so I know the surgery wasn't as invasive as when our girl cat got spade.

Yes, I do plan on giving my DH a mega-guilt trip when he gets home. I did call him at work and whine a bit, and his boss was right there and I could tell his boss felt guilty for me too. I mean, I know DH is really behind at work, and there is a big shake up happening this month that he's kind of in charge of, but man....I told him, "Yeah, I let the cats in the house and just picked them up and put them in the box. No big deal." He sheepishly was like, "Oh....didn't think of that."

I just bought tickets to see the Christmas Spectacular this Thursday night :Pinkbounc . I'm so darn excited. It's opening night. I'm taking Emmy, Alex and my mom. We have off from school so we will go into the City early and hit Toy R Us in Times Square and all that other crap the kids like to do when it's wall to wall people. We'll go to their favorite restaurant which I hate - Mars 2112. It's like you are on Mars and people dressed up like creepy maritans come to your table. It's like a nightmare version of a character meal. I got them for this week because they were only $49 per ticket and we are in the first row :Pinkbounc . This all happened because Alex saw the commercial and told me he wants to see "the Nutcrackers" (toy soldiers). I feel bad that DH can't go but he has to work. His mom is coming to watch Aidan. Oh how I love NJ Teacher's Convention. I never go but I love the fun time off with the kids!

lissawynn - I use DIF spray and it comes right off. I will try the vinegar next time. It must be cheaper.

Hillbeans - I forgot about Mary Poppins. I bet the kids would love that too! Where is it playing in the city? I certainly can't afford to go to that too. Maybe next year.

Aidan is crying. Gotta go!

Tamie- I just read on Allearsnet.com that the Finding Nemo musical will be having soft openings until the 19th or so....the times will not be in the guide, but you can ask at the tip board or nearby castmembers. And it gets RAVE reviews so far! I hope you can catch a show! :thumbsup2

Thank goodness for Elmo and the dvd player! Jimmy has been so miserable the last two days. He was constipated yesterday, but a suppository did the trick on that one. Today he doesn't want to eat anything and is just throwing tantrums left and right.
He also bonked his head off the crib, which is now in our living room. He has a nice gooner over his left eye.

Alice - Glad to hear you're feeling a little better. When the last cat we rescued got fixed and declawed, he chewed out the stitches in his paws. The vet never saw anything like it before. She had to restitch his feet and keep him for an extra night. She didn't even charge me for it.

DisKim - Congrats on getting those tickets! I have wanted to go to the Christmas show the last few years but being 7-8 months pregnant and walking the streets of NY is not my husband's idea of what I should be doing. Maybe we can make it next year.

Val - I wanted to tell you that we are putting a support beam in what will be our family room. It's going to help support the weight of the addition. I don't think the upstairs would be an option if we didn't put in the beam. Good luck with the slicer!

Hillbeans - Glad you had a good time at the show. I haven't been to see anything in ages and miss going. My grandmother took us to see stuff on Broadway all the time. The last play I saw was Beauty and the Beast and that was a million years ago.

Tamie - I hope Tyler took a nice long nap and was a happy boy when he woke up.

nucpharm - I forgot to say what cute party pics you have! Matthew's face all covered in cake is priceless.

DH is in the garage trying to figure out exactly where he's going to put the radiation in our family room and the bedrooms. Jimmy is content for the time being with Elmo. I have wash to do, but it'll wait until DH is done.

OK, I am about 2 seconds away from making Alex quit boy scouts. He has meetings on Monday nights from 7-8 pm. DH stays at the meetings with him so I have no help. It is now 8 freaking 40 and my son is still not home. Are these people nuts??? He is 6 years old and has school tomorrow. I think this den mother must be on drugs to think that this is okay! :furious: I called DH and told him this is unacceptable and my son needs to leave that meeting immediately.

lissa- those pictures are impressive! They seem to be moving quickly.

Kim- I hear ya. I'm REALLY getting tired of soccer 2-3 nights a week from 6-7, especially for Joshua. Who is 5. DH is rarely, if ever home at 6 to take him, and nights like tonight, well, I just cannot leave my sofa. And Josh really wants to go- he has his whole outfit on and everything, but I had to tell him 'sorry! We will make it to your game on Saturday though."

I've kept my Gatorade and Pepsi down, but still very shaky. I had the boys haul the 4-5 loads of clean laundry off the bathroom floor, bring it to me on the couch, I folded and then they ran all around the house putting everything either away, or at least on the correct beds. Thank god for my little helpers, or NOTHING would have been accomplished today.

The kitties are quite rambunctious- I see no side effects of the anesthesia. One had to get a test for ring worm though- sigh. I so did NOT want these to be high costing pets, and we have spend hundreds of dollars on them in the last 2 months. And I asked about that irritation on his nose and ear TWICE in the last two visits and those doctors seemed to think nothing of it. Very irritating.

OK, well time to lay down again.

Hi ladies. So sorry I have been MIA for a while. Life has been throwing some punches, but thank goodness, so far I'm still standing and walking, as I am now officially car-less.

I've been thinking of you ladies and sure have missed you the last few days.

Today I got to go to DD's school to meet her for lunch today. I was soooo excited to do that and she seemed happy to have me there. It was nice to see how things work.

The boys are doing fine. Leif is as adorable as ever

I hope to back soon to catch up a bit.

Robin - I hope you are feeling better soon.

Happy Birthday Matthew!!!!

Bellacam - Happy anniversary

Lissawynn - Looks like you will have lots more space when all's said and done, good luck!

DisKim - opening night sounds like fun! Enjoy! I agree, that is way too late for a school night.

Jill & Tasha - I hope school is going well for you ladies.

Tamie - enjoy beardless dh!

Hillbeans - I'm a huge Mary Poppins fan, I'm so jealous. It sounds like a whole lot of fun.

gems - I'm sure you passed the test :wizard:

Val, cabmom, bnb, ginamarie, lissawynn, zalansky, dizagain, fabumouse and all other DIS moms.

glt - Good to hear from you!!

hillary - I'm so glad you had a good time. I love shows like that, dh on the other hand is not a fan. Glad your hubby is home!

diskim - OMG, that is so late! I would be pretty fired up too. Is it always this late?

lissawynn - Cartoons have saved me the past couple of days with Tyler being a crab too. I know it's awful, but some days I'm so happy to have a tv! lol!

alice - Crossing my fingers your puking is done! I saw that the Nemo show is having soft openings. I REALLY want to see it!! Thanks for the early bday wishes, you are good! My bday is Wed. DH is taking me out tomorrow night though and we are going out with my parents on Wed.

val - I'll keep my eye out for a jewelry box.

Pictures didn't go so well tonight. We scheduled a reshoot for when we get back from WDW. We couldn't get a single smile out of our normally smiley little boy. What a bummer!

I completely forgot that tomorrow is election day. DH and I are getting flu shots too, fun stuff!

talk to you all later.

tamie

Woohoo  I passed my test with 90%! I am very pleased as I even passed the maths part - maths and I don't get on at all! :cheer2:

I have two more online tests to study for and take now - then I have to do a practical exam at a test site, and showcase my "balloon skills" :rotfl: sounds like fun though. It's actually much more demanding and detailed than you would ever think!

The hospital was a complete shambles yesterday, they have lost my notes and so I still have no idea whether I am allowed my c section for certain or not. I can't see it being a problem but I just want it confimed ya know!?!
I also had to have a blood test and they have massacred (sp?) both arms, the left one is bruised red? and cut where she slipped with the needle and my vein apparently popped it out? WTH never heard of that one before and then my right one had the needle in it for about 30 seconds before it actually gave any blood into the vial. I was pissed when I came out of there having been there for 4 hours! Then I got home to find that Shelby's cold has made her nose stream and she is like a BEAR! DH took her to bed and she slept for 2 hours before we went grocery shopping. luckily her mood improved and she seems better but not herself today.

Good morning! I came in the office this morning to open it but I have to leave shortly for Lucas's dr. appointment. I'll pop back in later to let you all know how it goes. It's just a well visit but bad mommy that I am, I can't remember if he gets shots today or not.

lissawynn - Wow, your house sure is coming along. I hope they stick to the five-week plan!

DisKim - I'd be :furious: about that boy scout meeting.

tkyes - Sorry your pictures didn't come out. You've reminded me that I need to schedule Lucas' Christmas pictures.

val - Glad you kept all your digits! Maybe you'll get more slicer time today.

glt - Glad you could check in! Sorry you still have no car.

Alice28 - I hope you're feeling better. At least the pukeys are over.

ginamarie - You'll have to stop being so efficient so you can get to court more often! :rotfl:

hillbeans - I'm glad you enjoyed Mary Poppins. Did you get to do anything else in NYC?

Gem - Congrats on your test score! :cheer2:

zalansky - Cute Crocs! I still don't think I'll be getting any, even with the Disney decorations on them.

fabumouse - Hope your computer gets fixed soon.

floridafam - Are you feeling better? Hope your voice is back, at least.

Betsy - Have fun planning your trip with Eliza.

dizagain - Hope your DH didn't find out you were using the bed as a changing table!

Bye for now! :wave2:

Good Morning all! :sunny: I have to say that I am glad election day is finally here. I am soooooo tired of all the political ads here--we have a pretty heated governor's race, and it seems like the only thing the candidates are "for" is dragging the other's name through the mud. Oh well!

Gems--Congrats on your Test!! :cool1: Sounds like your trip to the hospital was a pain! Hope Shelby isn't too much of a bear today!

lissawyn--WOW, there is a lot of work being done on your house. I hope they finish on time!

GLT--No car at all???? What happened??? You poor thing!

SL--good luck with lucas's visit--Matthew's is tomorrow afternoon (his 1 year) and I know shots are involved with this one; I'm dreading it!

FF--I hope you and your DH are feeling a little better. I was thinking of you yesterday; a good friend of mine's husband has registered for the Ironman in Florida for next year. I told my friend that we would come with them to keep her company during the race. Is your DH going to try again next year??

z--cute crocs! I'm with SL, though, I don't think, even with the disney things, that I could wear them. But I do have lots of friends that can't talk about them enough and how comfortable they are. Hope you are feeling better as well.

alice--you poor thing!!!! I hope today is a little better, and your DH is waiting on you hand and foot!!!!!

val--those slicer machines always give me the creepies!!! I used to work in a deli of sorts, but the manager always sliced the meat for me! I'm sure I would've lost a finger!

Well, today is Matthew's actual bday and what do we have planned--Nothing! I'm still exhausted after Sat., so we're laying low today. I'll workout and then that's it! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!, Oh, I'm sure all of us got the email, but if anyone needs the gymboree circle of friends email let me know and I'll forward it on. Chat later!

nucpharm,

I think he is going to do the Great Floridian next year instead. It really breaks his heart but the GF is closer (it's near Orlando.) Then, when he gets back into the swing of things, he is going to do Florida again. Something always goes wrong about 3 weeks before the Ironman Florida every time and it keeps him from doing it again.

The race is really something and really fun to watch. Give your friend our good luck wishes.

Mommies,

Does anyone know what would cause excessive bruising? DS's legs are COVERED in bruises and he said he hasn't hit anything besides the normal stuff at recess. I wonder if it could be his asthma medication or something. It just looks so abnormal. :confused3 :confused3

I'll be back to catch up after I drop the kids off. DH and I still aren't feeling well but life goes on.

Just have a second...

glt - good to hear from you! No car must be very difficult :grouphug:

floridafam - Sorry you're still under the weather. On the bruising thing, Hannah has always bruised if she barely gets bumped. I mean, a brown or purple bruise shows up immediately. The doctors check her for anemia on occcasion, but nothing appears wrong. :confused3

sl - hope the doctor's appt. goes well!

gem - way to go!!! Hope the hospital can straighten things out for you c-section....I'd want to know what to expect too!!!

tykes - sorry the pictures didn't work out - maybe you'll get some awesome ones next try after your FUN trip! I need to get Carson in this month but I keep putting it off.

diskim - so cool about the tickets to the show!!! We love going to the theatre so much. I agree that the boy scout meeting was way late - how annoying.

robin - glad the kitties are doing ok. Especially glad you seem to be on the mend. Take it easy!

nucpharm - hope Matthew's birthdayis nice and relaxing! I hear you about the crazy excessive campaign smears.

val - be careful with that slicer!!! :)

tykes - enjoy seeing DH's face!!!

hillbeans- glad you loved the show!!!

screaming baby - gotta go!

This is what the house looked like when I left this morning.

IMG_0061.jpg

IMG_0060.jpg

As you can probably see, we don't have a covered roof. Also, the front and the back of the house are open. This is not good. We are supposed to get steady rain from 3:00 this afternoon through tomorrow. The part that's open is over our living room. DH is worried that we will have a leaky ceiling and our furniture and everything else in the room will get wet (including us).

Please keep us in your thoughts that the rain is minimal, if anything. Our contractor went out last night and bought a bunch of tarps. I hope that is a temporary band-aid for the night.

DH is VERY frustrated b/c they are content to put in a 7 1/2 -8 hour work day and leave. The motivation to get us under cover isn't really there like we think it should be.

I'm going home during my break to check on things and vote. I hope you all have a good day and all the sickies are feeling better.

Hey girls! The appointment went well. Lucas is 23 lbs, 2 oz and 33 1/5 in which puts him in the 30-35% and 95% for weight and height. He also had shots, poor guy, but didn't make a peep. He's surprisingly good with shots. He didn't cry at his 12 month shots or when he had blood drawn (which, by the way, was NOT the prick on the finger I was led to believe it was going to be  ). We were told to start weaning off the pacifier and that his pickiness with food isn't that big a problem but we got a sample six pack of Pediasure to give him if we're worried.

lissawynn - I hope you don't get a lot of rain until your roof is on.

nucpharm - Happy actual Birthday to Matthew! :yay:

floridafam - Sorry you're still not feeling well. I hope you get to the bottom of DS's bruising.

dizagain - Hope Carson gives you a few minutes to yourself today!

DH voted this morning and said it was pretty easy. Our town is one of a few testing out these new voting machines for the state. We blacken in the circles next to the candidates' names and feed it into a machine -- like the SATs. At least I now know what to look forward to since I'll be going out after I pick up Lucas this afternoon.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATTHEW!!!!!! :bday: :cake: :bday: :cake: :bday:

Robin and Floridafam - How you are guys feeling today? I hope that you feel better!

Lissawynn - Good luck with the house. :wizard: I'll say some prayers that you don't get rain!

Sorry for the quick post from me. :guilty: I do hope to catch up with all of you lovely ladies very soon. Know that I am thinking of you!!! :wave2:
