nucpharm - Thanks for the heads up on the recall! We have that thing. I'll be calling tomorrow for my replacement part! :thumbsup2

robin - What a great opportunity! How exciting for you!!!

sl - Out of Target for only $16, I'm impressed!

ff - I love that beanbag thing. Yes, PBK is super expensive. Adorable stuff though! Have you been to www.landofnod.com (dumb question for the queen of web shopping) They have some fun stuff too.

fabumouse - LOL, good luck with the sleep!

ginamarie - Oh my goodness, court sounds like a nightmare. I can't react to anything either, I freeze up and then kick myself once I calm down for not speaking up.

diskim - Awww, how sweet that your kids were so sad for Aiden! He is a big boy :)

diz - Hmm.. Yummy brownie idea!!!

glt - I do freelance graphic design work.

I think the biting is a phase too, I don't think it's an issue. I guess I was really just bothered by how worked up my aunt was. I'm not making light of it, but I really don't know what she expected me to do about it. It's not like he's 5 and would understand punishment. I was only teasing about the timeout. DH said when he picked him up he could tell she was kinda fired up about it, he told her "I'll have a long talk with him when we get home" :rotfl:

Tyler also dumped her dogs water dish over that day too. I really wanted to say "what the he(* do you expect when you leave a water dish out with a one year old around?"

Gotta run! Have a good night everyone!!

Tamie

Hi Everyone,

Floridafam - smoking in the car around your children is unacceptable - that woman should be ashamed of herself and what she's doing to her kids. A few years ago a man my girlfriend was dating went off on a woman doing that with her kids in the car - he was so upset he was almost in tears and ripped into this woman smoking in the car with her kids. I don't know if she stopped doing it after that huge scene, but at least in his mind he tried to do something about it. That makes me sad.

Kevin had a great first day of school. Liam has been a little sick so i'm going to keep this brief. Below are some pics of today - hope the sizes are ok- I don't have a good photo editor so I do it on photobucket and wing it. Talk with you ladies more over the weekend!

Alice- Great news about the preschool teaching position!

Fabumouse- It’s funny because I’ve been in front of a lot of local judges, but this was the meanest encounter I’d ever had, especially when I had no idea why he would accuse me of lying about something so silly.

Hillbeans- Glad the first day of school went well.

Ahh Target does make things better! I got out with only about a $30 bill, but they had a couple of shelves on clearance that I’m going to put in my dining room. Who can beat $6 for pretty shelves? I also got a couple of things for the exchange, so hopefully what I bought will work for whoever I get. There’s so much cute Halloween stuff I can’t wait to find out who I got!

OK, DH and I are going to watch BB now. Tomorrow Olivia is getting her first taste of rice cereal :)

Alice28 - Super opportunity with the Pre-K sub position! Perfect! I loved doing that and really miss it.

Fabumouse - If our DD's are alike, you are IN TROUBLE  Hopefully yours doesn't get obnoxiously snotty and spend half of her life in trouble because of her mouth. Kailey looks too cute for that. I also am not a huge fan of these early days with babies - personally I'm more of a play-dough and fingerpaint kind of mom and I'm ready for Carson to at least sit up and DO something!!! I do tend to hover and the "is he breathing?" gets old but you've gotta check, right?

Ladies - those low Target check-outs are amazing. Congratulations.

Tykes - don't worry about the biting thing. I'm sure that "long talk" with Daddy will make it all better! ;) Seriously, usually a short phase.

GLT- You are crazy for doing a garage sale last minute but I hope you make some $$ and use it for something fun!

Ok, drama for today. Hannah and her two neighborhood buddies come in this afternoon from school and want to go to Walgreens to get fake nails. They talk DH into doing the driving and take their own money and get these FRIGHTENING nails. Well, they get them all glued on and they are so proud. Then another neighbor girl comes in and wants them - well her mom is super strict so I said she'd better call and ask first. Surprise, mom says yes. Anyway, as I predicted, Hannah HATES the things but they won't come off without pain. She's crying and telling me she made a mistake and wishes she hadn't done it. So I cut them down and filed them..."but mom, you cut the glitter off!" was the thanks I got. Turns out the strict mom is not too happy, but she gave permission so I'm not feeling guilty. I think they're very tacky and awful, but I know DD will never do it again so it's a good lesson learned and hopefully noone will think I let her do it because I LIKE it!

Good night!

I am so sick to my stomach tonight, and many of you can probably guess why!

nucpharm- Thanks for the recall notice. Jenna got that activity center for her birthday. I have always wondered about the safety of the plastic ball tube, for Jenna is always sticking her hand down it. Happy b-day to your DH.

Jill- Thanks for asking about me. Since DH is coaching/working 7 days/week, I have very little computer time now. I wish I had a laptop so I could DIS from anywhere in the house. Glad to hear that school is going well for you. Good luck with your exam. Please send me an e-mail or PM if you ever need any help with science. I do miss teaching it at times.

Hillbeans- Great first day of school photo. You have a very nice looking family.

Alice- Congrats on the sub position.

Ginamarie- Sorry the judge was so rude to you. I have a friend who was a probation officer, and one judge told my friend that she didn't ever want my friend back in her courtroom because she couldn't stand the smell of my friend's perfume.

dizagain- I don't think I've posted since you've joined us, so welcome! I agree that 3 weeks is way too early for cereal.

Gems- So sorry to hear that you are still being ignored at work. Did you ever sign up with Usborne Books? There is a very cheap starter kit being offered this month. I don't know if it would be the same for you there, though.

SL- Glad you were able to get a replacement part for Luca's slide. I think we will get one for Jenna for Christmas.

GLT- Glad school is going well for the kiddos. Sorry to hear that you are having to find a new dentist. There is now a notice at our peds office that says something like people who frequently cancel appointments without notice or at the last minute may be asked to find another dr. The office has been having problems with being booked up at the beginning of the day and having to deny people appointments and then by the end of the day having numerous cancellations/no shows that could have been filled had they received advance notice of the cancellation. Even though the patient/insurance company pays them the money, if they don't have someone to fill that appointment, then they see it as money lost. My Mom's dr. still charges a co-pay for patients who don't show up. I think you gave them more than enough notice, though.

floridafam- I'm looking forward to receiving my exchange name.

Valerie- I'm glad things are getting better for you at work.

fabumouse and justhat- We want to see updated pics of the babies. They grow and change so fast.

Tasha- Sounds like you are doing great in school.

BnBM- Glad to hear that Luke is gaining weight and doing great.

Tamie- Isn't the Disney Shopping shipping rate ridiculous? I usually only order from them if I have a code that will cover most or all of the shipping.

DisKim- Glad you had a good first day of school yesterday.

lissawynn- Glad to hear that you are feeling better.

Hi to all the other moms that I missed. My DH just walked in the door, so I need to see him when I can.

TTFN, and TG it is almost Friday!

Um, Jennifer, what exactly are you trying to tell us?????? :bitelip:

Robin - arent' you observant to have noticed what J&D could be referring to, I totally missed it! Yeah for the sub position! How often do you think you'll try to do it? That is great. I was excited because our local school district hired me back this school year to freelance for them (probably why I'm on the computer more already). I was quite pleased.

J&D - soo?? What are you telling us? Interesting about the peds office. I didn't have any warning at all. Whatever, it gives me an excuse not to go. My kids' dentist makes us call back and confirm the appt. Kind of a pain, but it makes people accountable I guess.

dizagain - I must be crazy, I took three kids to WDW by myself :rotfl: Actually, things are coming together ok for the sale. I do have some labeling to do, but that's ok. I can do most of it in the a.m. I have signs ready to go and everything.

Hillbeans - great pics, Kevin is adorable. Is that the family in the first one? You guys look wonderful!

BB - SOOO disappointed that Janelle lost the competition, that bums!

ff - the chair is adorable.

tamie - in my house, if it's not a kid spilling the dog's water it's the dog drinking and then dripping all over the floor. I think your aunt needs to chill out, maybe she was just having a stressful day? I hope the situation gets better!

ginamarie - glad Target was a success, and not spending much $ there is amazing.

fabumouse, - yeah, that late at night,my DH would miss out. I need me quiet time at night or I go ballistic

First off, I can't believe how many of us made (attempted to in my case) brownies the same day. Second, how many of our kids had dr appts. the same week and third how everyone goes shopping at the same stores the same days. Plus frequently illnesses and such are all hitting at the same time. It amazes me. It's like we are all connected on a cosmic frequency.

I did make some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies tonight and they came out great! I stuck some in DD's lunch for tomorrow.

Diskim, nucpharm, Bnb, gems, bellacam, SL, zalansky, disneyphd and all the other DIS mommies, HI!! Have a great day. I doubt I'll get on much tomorrow since I'll be garage saling and all (and taking DS to the dr.) YES, I am crazy

J&D - Are you going to leave us hanging like that?? You know what I'm thinking :rolleyes1

Tamie - Aidan has been biting too. He only bites us but I firmly tell him "no" and it is getting better. I think he was doing it when he wanted to give us a kiss but add a little something special :) .

GLT - I just want you to know that your baking is making me crave goodies. I was searching the house for something good last night but I was too tired to actually make anything. I settled for some ice cream but it wasn't the same.

dizagain - OK, at least my DD isn't the only dramatic one. I had to laugh at that story and your description of "strict mom".

Hillbeans - Awwww, Kevin looks like such a big boy. I'm glad his first day of school went well.

OK, off to get some more coffee and get to work. I'm so happy it's Friday already!

J&D - I hope you're thinking what I think the rest of us are thinking...

hillbeans - Great pictures! Glad Kevin had a good day at school. I hope Liam is feeling better.

Alice28 - That's great news about the preschool sub position.

floridafam - I'm surprised they even allow smoking on school grounds. Whoever monitors the pick up line should have told her to put it out.

fabumouse - Like you, I don't miss the cuddly infant days either but it's not for the same reason. I'm just not a baby person.

tkyes - Lucas gets into my SIL's dog's things when we're at her house. He once broke her ceramic food dish.

ginamarie - Glad Target made you feel better!

dizagain - I remember the days of Lee Press On Nails. :lmao: I think your DD is just like I was at that age. Don't let her go overboard with the blue eyeshadow like I did!

glt - Good luck with the garage sale.

DisKim - I can't believe that 7th Heaven is still on the air. I only watched the first couple of seasons before I had to quit.

Anyone have any exciting weekend plans? Sunday is my birthday (and it's also my friend's birthday) so tonight we're going to Oyama which is a Japanese restaurant like Benihana with a bunch of friends. SIL is going to watch Lucas. On Saturday, DH is taking Lucas to his grandmother's so I'll have some time to myself and later that evening DH and I might go to dinner or a movie or something. On Sunday, my mom is making a birthday dinner for me.

J&D - So ?????????????????????????? If it is so, this thread of momma's is one fertile thread! I'd better stay off it then - ha ha.

SL - HAPPY BIRTHDAY :rainbow: :bday: - I also think it's Loretta's and Cameryn's birthday Monday.

Alice - Great news about the School sub position. Keep us posted!

Tamie - I remember once when Kevin was 14 months he bit a child at preschool on the foot - not hard but he did bite them. I remember I did talk with him and tell him not to do it anymore - more as a goof than not - and he didn't do it again! I think it's just a phase and a way to push boundries!

Diskim - I hear ya - TGIF!

Talk more later!

alice - I forgot to tell you, Cars comes out Nov. 7th. Did you see the cute scrapbooking/cardmaking stuff in the dollar section at Target? Pretty cute stuff.

j&d - You can't leave us hanging like that!!!!

sl - Happy Early Birthday!!! :cake: Sounds like fun!

hillary - Adorable pictures! Glad the first day went well.

glt - Good luck with the garage sale! I hope you make lots of money!

I think Tyler is getting a bit of a cold. He's sneezing quite a bit. He got up extra early this morning and I think I'm going to have a tough time keeping him up until lunch. I guess he might be getting a morning nap today.

I need to plan something today. I'm feeling kinda bored and cooped up in the house. Dh has been working a lot the past couple of days and I feel like a single parent. Luckily things will be back to normal next week.

Gotta run!

Tamie

I've been reading the past couple of days, but my mom stayed in DC with us since I'm driving back to NJ today for that wedding this Sunday so she figured she'd save on the train cost. Of course, that has come at the expense of my sanity (and hers too for that matter) so I think the train back on Wednesday might have been the better choice. I hate to say it, but I'm so looking forward to Monday when I drive back to DC alone with my kids and can go on with life in the way I would like to. It's so frustrating to constantly have someone watching and criticizing everything I do. :furious:

Anyway, I have to pack up cause we have to leave to get Madison in 45 minutes and then head out to NJ. My mom wanted to stop for breakfast on the way back from her school despite the fact that we have to leave here at 9:45. Whatever.

Happy birthday to SL, Cameryn, and Zalansky and happy belated birthday to Leif since I was out of town on his birthday. I'll try to get back on the boards this weekend, but most likely it won't be till Monday. And my camera battery died in my digital camera so not sure I can't take photos of my all snug in my dress, but I'll try just to make the rest of you feel better about how you look! ;) Have a good weekend!

Oh yeah, someone mentioned Henry getting big-the kid is enormous. He's 22.5 inches and 11 lbs. 12 oz. This was how big Madison was at almost 3 months (well, she was a little bit taller, 24 in.) so it's a shock to me. Of corse it shouldn't be given his size at birth/gestation, but he doesn't even look newborn to me anymore. And did I mention that he's been able to roll over since birth? In his isolette in the hospital (he was in one of those fish tank/cage types cause of the bili lights) he flipped himself from tummy to back 3 times and his nurse kept thinking it was the other nurse when she finally sat and watched him and saw he did it himself. I thought it was a fluke till I brought him home and did tummy time and he flipped over and now he'll do it immediately when I put him on his stomach. A challenge for getting his neck muscles stronger. I swear he's not human. Kinda makes me think I'll want #3 faster than I thought cause he's flying through the baby phase. Still no time soon though! ;)

J&D---come on-don't leave us hanging!!!!!! I thought maybe I had missed a previous post where you had given other clues, but I guess from other posts nobody knows yet! Congrats if it's what we all are thinking! :cool1: But I have to agree with Hillbeans--this is a very fertile board, and I need to stay away! LOL! :rotfl:

GLT--good luck with the garage sale. Our big consignment event starts here today. My dsis and I put about 75 items in, so we'll see how we do. It's pretty cool, the mom who started this event started the sale in her living room and now it's grown to over 400 consignors and thousands of items. So I'm crossing my fingers that we make some good $$$$--b/c this will be sis and my spending money on our girls weekend in a few weeks.

Oh, I don't know if I told ya'll but my sis and I are going on a weekend triip w/no kids and no husbands!!! I am so excited! :cool1: We used some of my DVC points to exchange into the conceirge collection to stay in this NICE spa hotel right outside of Branson, MO--so we're going to indulge and shop all weekend!

SL--no big plans here. I'm volunteering at the big consignment sale from 12-5 on Saturday (got me a pass to the pre-sale!) But besides that, after our busy weekend last week, we're just going to lay low. I also need to clean up this pig sty of a house! How exciting!

Alice--I died laughing at Auntie Robin making some broccoli for Emma last night! :lmao: I "snuck" some fresh tomatoes on our homemade pizzas last night and she wasn't any the wiser! She's my picky child who can't have anything on her pizza but cheese--Ha! she had 2 slices with tomatoes on it!!!

Happy Birthday SL, zalansky, and cameryn!!!!!! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Justhat--sorry to hear that your time with your mom is so stressful! I'm lucky that my mom keeps her mouth shut when we're together! Henry sounds like he's growing fast! I thought the same thing when Matthew was small that he was growing too fast and that I would want another one---but now that he's grown into being a boy, he's killing me!!! I never could've imagined how different boys are from girls--now I realize how easy I had it with my sweet little girl who could just sit and look at books for hours by herself--now I'm spending my days chasing after mister trouble, keeping him out of just about everything!

tykes--I don't know why I ever bought any toys for Matthew b/c as soon as he sees them he's after the dog toys--good thing our dog doesn't chew on the toys too!

Hillbeans--Great pics! Your family is so gorgeous!!!! Hope little Liam is feeling a little better! How is he sleeping for you??? Matthew has been actually sleeping through the night for the past 2 weeks and I feel like a new woman!

HI to everyone else! Matthew is throwing things at me so I better go! Have a great Friday all!

Hi, J&D...nice to meet you (or is it both of you?)...interesting post!

Justhat...wow, you really get around! I am in awe of your traveling skills. I can't even get to Target with Carson without a check-list  . We went to lunch yesterday at a restaurant at the mall and found the stroller wasn't in the car because it was still in the garage. Can't believe how big Henry is...looking forward to the weigh-in with Carson in a week and a half or so. I know you're happy about coming home next week on your own with the kids - it's stressful having family around sometimes, I know!

Well, someone is very cranky all of a sudden. Check in later. Happy Friday!

Um, Jennifer, what exactly are you trying to tell us??????
Booger is probably going to win Big Brother! :sad2:

I am definitely not pregnant. Sorry to disappoint all of you. :p

SL, Loretta, and Cameryn- Happy early birthday! :cake:

Jenna finally woke up, so I need to run. We are taking her to her first college football game tomorrow night. Should be fun and an easy win for the Aggies.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hi ladies. I should be grading my spelling tests, but I had to get caught up with you all first. I was feeling really lousy yesterday and went home to crash. The builder dropped off samples of singles and siding for us to look at. DH took Jimmy to my sister's to visit with BIL. I actually managed to get a bath and shave my legs.
I have to go to a meeting on Monday for my new agressive, defiant, angry student. I'm really hoping they take him out of my class.

J&D - Please let us know what' going on!

SL - I hope you have a great birthday! Enjoy your weekend!

Hillbeans - Great pic of the first day of school.

Alice & DisKim - I saw lots of those signs on my WDW trip. Maybe it's because I was in every bathroom in the World.

nucpharm - Enjoy your spa weekend. That sounds so heavenly right now.

I'm sorry to have missed so many of you! My next class is arriving in just a few minutes!

TTYL!

Hi Everyone! :sunny:

I've only got a minute but I wanted to say hi! :wave2: John just had his check up with his surgeon and John looks like he never had a cleft palate! :thumbsup2 We now will visit with the surgeon and the cranio facial team once a year until John is 16 years old. :woohoo: I swear John has been a new baby since they repaired the cleft. I'm wishing I had brought my camera to the appointment so I could take a picture of John and the doctor together. Oh well...maybe next year.

I have to tell you what happened when I left the doctor's office (it was funny.) As I was leaving some man walked by and told me that I was almost as beautiful as my baby. I was cracking up b/c I never heard that before. Have any of you? Was that a compliment or an insult? ;) :rotfl2: I couldn't tell, but it cracked me up.

I haven't had a chance to read through all of the posts, but I promise to catch up on Sunday!

SL - Happy Birthday! Have a great time this weekend!

Justhat - Have a safe trip up to NJ for the wedding! Sorry to hear that your mom is making you a bit crazy.

J&D - Oh my goodness, you had us all thinking you were pregnant! :teeth: Thanks for the offer of help with science! Do you have any good ideas on class demonstrations? I've got to do 4 science demos for K-6. I also have a scope and sequence due in a week, but I've got my topic picked out.

Robin - Congrats on the sub position!

Hillbeans - I love the picture of you all on Kevin's first day! Kevin and his dad look so much alike!

GLT - Your brownies are making me hungry! I've cooked many a brownie that didn't quite finish cooking, but I ate them anyway. Good luck with the garage sale!

Tamie - My nephews were biters, but it was only b/c they couldn't talk and they were frustrated. It quickly passed though. Good luck with Tyler.

Lissawynn - Good luck with your student on Monday!

Nucpharm - Have fun with your girls weekend!

dizagain - Oh the fake nail thing is something my daughters would love to do, but I won't let them. You dd's sound like mine!

Ginamarie - Sorry to hear about the mean judge!

DisKim - That is terrible that the hospital wouldn't do a MRI on your brother's girlfriend. I hope that she is doing better. How are you doing? Any more news on the dog?

I apologize for missing a lot of you. I hope that everyone is doing well! :grouphug:

Hi to BNBmom, Val, Gems, Floridafam, Ryan, Fabumouse, Tasha, Bellacam, DisneyPhD, Joats, Gretchen, Zalansky, Cabmom and everyone! :wave2:

I feel really bad for my dh b/c I've started to stress a bit about my lack of study time. :guilty: John hasn't been napping so well and when he does, someone always comes to the door and wakes him up. I'm left trying to study at night after taking care of kids, cleaning and cooking all day. Dave didn't get home until 8:30 last night and I was too exhausted to comprehend much. I wasn't too happy about it and sadly, I took it out on him. I really need to look into part time daycare if I want to make it through these next few month without going crazy. Anyways, enough venting....I need to get back to work if I want to pass my test tomorrow. :surfweb:

My weekend plans or rather boring. I've got an reading assessment exam tomorrow and I need to work on a project on Sunday. Woo Hoo! :woohoo: I live quite the exciting life here! :lmao:

Hillbeans- you look so great in that picture? How in the world did someone think you were pregnant a few weeks ago? They were CRAZY! What a big boy Kevin is!

J&D- you had us fooled. I guess you just meant you were relating to the preggo moms cause you didn't feel well?

Jill- I'm sorry you are not getting the study time you need- that has to be frustrating! Maybe a parttime sitter is a good idea. :grouphug: to you!

justhat- wow, Henry is a strong guy! Sam rolled over at 3 weeks- but my other two did it at 3-4 months, like normal. I can't believe how big he's getting so soon! I hope you make it through the next couple of days with your mom... :wizard:

dizagain- LOL about the nails! That just makes me laugh... :rotfl:

SL- Happy Birthday this weekend! party: sounds like you have some fun things planned! Good for you! Enjoy your teppan dinner! Yum!

Tamie- I hope Tyler doesn't get too sick. Molly got up early this AM, after being a bear to get to bed last night. I guess maybe the DTP shot didn't agree with her. :confused3 Anyway, I will have to go back to Target soon and check out the dollar spot a bit better- I didn't see the card making stuff you mentioned. I did get TEN pages done in my book the other day! Sea World is now done, and I think I got 4 pages of our DL trip done so far. :cheer2: DH will be gone all day tomorrow, so I may go down to my parents in the later morning/afternoon and have another scrap session. My mom has a 'craft room' with her sewing machines and two big tables with all her craft stuff. Plus, my dad can kind of distract the boys and I power scrap while Molly naps. She has 300+ pictures she printed of the UK, so she has some work to do too!

OK, parents of older children- I'm nervous. I'm signing BOTH boys up for indoor soccer this fall and I think I'm going to regret it, but it needs to be done. I am going to feel like a taxi driver, aren't I....I didn't sign Sam up for sports the 18 months DH was gone cause I just didn't feel like I could deal with all my kids and all the practices and games. But the boys need the experience. Ugh. I'm SO not a sports mom, but I need to do what's good for my kids, as usual. :teeth: Tell me it won't be THAT bad!

OK, I am off to tidy up the kitchen and then jump in the shower. I get to go to Gymbo this morning! :cheer2: My coupon came in the mail yesterday! And I am HOPING my mom will go, because I know she wanted to go to this killer scrapbook store near the mall. Oh, DH bought this $450 watch that he didn't tell me about beforehand- me thinks that's why he was all, "Sure honey, you spend what you want, I trust you." :stir: I'm not too mad about it, but his timing was bad on the spending. He should have waited another month. :sad2:

Hi Mommies,

Halloween costumes just arrived in the mail. Kona is going to be a bee. It's so CUTE and I think the octopus would be too hot.

I'm going to get the butterfly from Pottery Barn if they go on sale after Halloween (for next year.)

I also ordered the cutest thing-it's a Mr. Potato Head decorating kit for a pumpkin. I ordered the witch one and it looks like it's going to be very cute on a pumpkin.

DD8 is going to be Padme Amidala from Star Wars and I bet she'll be excited to see her costume when she gets home. She said all she wants to do is come home and lay on her new chair. DH put Scotch Guard on it last night. :thumbsup2

Kona and I went to the consignment shop this morning and they only gave me $5 for my Barbie Train. UGH! I could have sold it on ebay for way more than that but I didn't want to deal with the hassle right now.

Robin,

Have fun at Gymbo. I decided not to buy anything this time. I was going to get one more cherry skirt for Kona but she doesn't really need it.

Strawberry Lemonade,

Happy Birthday. :cheer2:  :cool1:

Have fun this weekend.

justhat,

Sorry your mom has been getting on your nerves. Have fun at the wedding.

Ginamarie,

Sorry you had a bad day. :grouphug:

I've got to get caught up on a few things. I'll be back to post about the exchange later.

There is a .05 click at Sunshine!

Jill- Here are some easy demos that I've done.

dancing raisins or dancing spaghetti (used to demo many concepts such as observation, states of matter, and chemical reactions)
liquid volcanos
osmosis of an egg or potato
use yeast to blow up a balloon to demo fermentation/respiration
Easter egg genetics (love this one)
Punnett squares
classification keys
liquid bottle rockets to demo Newton's Laws (kids love this one, and you can demo it several ways)
energy disks (poppers) to demo Newton's Laws (I can send you one)
use household objects as simple machines (hammer=lever, knife=wedge, etc)
virtual cell tour
use a real earthworm to show how they will respond to stimuli such as light, touch, vineger (turn away)

I can send you the forms that go with those demos. If you tell me what your topic is for your scope and sequence, then I can see what I have to fit that topic. Those are the ones that quickly came to mind.

Alice- I just thought that most of the other BB fans here would also be feeling "sick to their stomach" that Booger might win. ;) I didn't want to give it away for those like you that may not have watched the show yet.
