Well so much for seeing DH, he went to take the trash to the curb and said the garage is infested with piles of maggots everywhere :scared1: :crazy2: :faint: I have no idea how it happened so quickly, but it's just nasty! We were in there yesterday and didn't see anything out of the ordinary :confused3 He has an obsession with eradicating bugs so God knows I won't be seeing him tonight until LOST comes on  I just hope they didn't make it into any of our stuff!

ETA- He's back already, I guess I'm not a maggot widow after all :rotfl2:

ETAAgain- My son just got into the halloween stuff and put on a tiarra, then called out "look at me mom, I'm a princess!" He still has it on too... Should I be worried :teeth:

Well, I finally have a second to get on here and Katrina is hollering  .

Real Quick:

Diskim,
I'm sending prayers for your aunt. I hope she is doing better.

GLT,
Happy Birthday for tomorrow :bday: . Mine is on Monday. Seems like there are a lot of us Libras on the thread :) .

LglBlond,
Welcome! I'm so happy to hear your little guy is doing so well.

Okay, I know I missed lots of people but Katrina is going into hysterics. Guess it will be an early bedtime tonight for her.

I'll try to sneak back on later.

GLT- Happy Birthday to You! Hope it is a wonderful year!

:bday: :rainbow:

Evening all. DH is at his parents' house and I'm alone with my cold and congestion. I am sorry for being such a whiner these last few days, but I am at the end of my rope. I have NEVER had a cold like this before. Trust me, I get sick with an URI almost every year due to the germs swirling around the school. Maybe it's the pregnancy that's prolonging all of my symptoms b/c I can't take the killer meds I'd usually use to get this gone. I have to check my contract to see if I can take 5 days off in a row without a drs. excuse. I guess I can always call the urgent care place and see if they'd fax a note to school for me. I really don't know if I can do it tomorrow. Like I posted earlier, I seem to be getting worse, not better.

Alice - I hope your DH can relax about the money. What you're spending really isn't that much. If you can cancel and rebook at the overflow rate, you'll be in good shape.

gems - I'm glad Flumpy is doing well. I hope your DH is feeling better soon. My DH has been sick like that a handful of times during our marriage, and it wasn't pretty. Once was right after I'd had Jimmy and I was sick, too. I had to take care of Jim, the baby, and myself. It wasn't fun.

ryan - I'm glad the maggots are gone. How icky.

Hi val!

I'm going to try to go to sleep for a little while. Goodness only knows how long DH and Jimmy will be gone.

Robin - Face it, the bills always pile up. Dont sweat it. You'll be fine. You're going to have a great trip! I'll be living vicariously through you since I'm not going this year. Maybe we'll go next November for a short trip during Teacher's Convention, a.k.a "Jersey Week".

Gems - I'm glad to hear Flumpy is doing well. I'm sure he looked adorable. I'm sorry that your DH is still sick.

lissawynn - I'm sure your OB will give you a note for work. Don't push yourself or you will get worse. I used to get really sick for days on end like that when I was pregnant with Alex.

I'm so sick of everyone being sick in my house. Alex's voice is hoarse and he is tired and grumpy but he refuses to believe he is coming down with something too. It looks like we won't be going to NC this weekend. I feel bad. My dad and stepmother were all excited for us to come. I'm going to let them know tomorrow. I really don't feel well enough to go.

I'll tell you ladies a secret. We were going to look at a house I'm very interested in. I'm not telling anybody about it because I don't want to cause a frenzy like I did the last time we went to shop for homes in NC. I also don't want to talk about it and get my own hopes up. It always boils down to the fact that DH would need to find a job down there first. This house I saw in Apex is just perfect for us and my mom. It has an in-law suite and it is 4500 square feet! It has every feature we want and it's affordable. I know we won't be able to buy it but I really feel a need to see it. My mom travels all week long and is only home for 1-2 days a week. She can't take care of her house anymore and this home would be the perfect solution. Also, she would help us with the mortgage and bills so I could stay home ... finallly. Anyway, like I said, I'm not getting my hopes up because we are just not risk takers and I can't imagine us making such a big move. DH and I don't even gamble when we go to Atlantic City because we don't want to risk losing money. I can't imagine us taking as big a risk as moving. BTW, if he gets offered the job he interviewed for at the college here, my plans are dead in the water anyway.

Well, Alex just came home in a bad mood from soccer. I guess I have to talk to him  .

I wanted to say that I am loving all of the wonderful new pictures of the kiddos on the thread :goodvibes .

Gems,
I hope you dh recovers soon from his man-flu. I'm sorry but your post just totally cracked me up :rotfl2: .

Robin,
I somehow missed how your trip to Hawaii turned in to a trip to WDW. How did you manage that one ;) ?

Hillbeans,
I really liked POFQ. My dh took a turn on the serpent slide too :teeth: . I'm sure we will be back. Have fun at the concert!! We want to see pics :teeth: .

Alisa,
Congrats on the baby girl princess: ! I hope you are feeling better soon.

BnB,
What a sweetheart your dh is to give you a break next week  . I'm glad the field trip was fun.

Dizagain,
Those storms sound scary. I'm sure it didn't help with your daughter's fear any when the tornado siren went off  . I'm glad you are all safe.

Fabumouse,
I hope Madeline finally got some sleep. I don't know how but I lucked out and both of my kids sleep like rocks.

Ryan,
Too funny about the ghost costume!

Tasha,
I hope you get some rest soon! I'm sure Kylie will be fine at her new center. Her pictures are beautiful.

Justhat,
Love the pictures of the kids! I know this was a while back but I just read it so I wanted to post on the fly thing. Did you ever find out where they were coming from? We had something similar happen when we lived in our apartment only it sounds like ours was worse and the flys were definately coming from somewhere in the apartment. It was so disgusting.

Loretta,
I thought of you when we were at the Boardwalk having lunch on our trip. When are you going back?

Hi to FF, Tamie, J&D, Bellacam, Gretchen, Jill, and everyone I'm sure I'm forgetting. My mind is kind of fried lately. I haven't even had time to look at my pictures from my trip yet. We got some sad news yesterday that my grandfather (the one who was in the hospital a couple of weeks back) has liver cancer :( . My dh is taking him on Friday to see the oncolagist to get all the details. If you could, please say a prayer for him. He has aged so much these last few weeks.

On a happier note, this weekend is my and my best friend's annual shopping excursion so it should be great! We leave early in the morning and get home late at night. It's always a lot of fun. Dh is going to the Patriot's football game on Sunday. Then my birthday is on Monday but I have to work. I just hope dh remembers  .

Diskim,
I'm sending pd :wizard: that things with the house work out.

GLT: Happy Birthday Tomorrow! :bday: :cake: I hope you have a wonderful day.

Welcome Lglblonde! Wow, what a trooper Jake is (and a cutie)!! So glad to hear the good news.

Robin: I can't believe you are going to WDW again!! So envious!! Sorry DH flipped on you.

Ryan: "Alex is watching "Corpse Fried" (originally "Corks Fried") aka The Corpse Bride" :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: Too cute! ICK about the maggots...so gross! I can't wait for LOST either! Thanks for the link.

Gems: glad to hear positive news about the U/S. Your boots sound so cute! Post a pic!!

Lissawyn: :wizard: This is my attempt at hoping you will feel better soon. You sound so awful :(

DisKim: Continued positive vibes :goodvibes for your aunt. It is great she has such a good sense of humor. She sure has been thru a lot.

Hillbeans: I can't believe you are going to see Nick! He's a cutie-patootie!!
I hope you have a blast!

Congratulations Auntie Bellacam! Hope the baby is doing ok.

GMarie: Butternut Squash and also Beechnut makes a corn and sweet potato mix.

BNB: The field trip sounds like it was so much fun. I hope you get that day off soon!!

FF: Phew, glad to hear the news about your test. You must be so relieved.

I'm sorry I'm missing some of you...Jill, Zalansky, Dizagain, cabmom, Val, nucpharm, Tasha, fabumouse, J&D, Justhat, SL (in WDW), etc.
Wow, there are sure a lot of us on this thread.

DH went to "Happy Hour" after work with co-workers for a drink. He hasn't done that since Jace was born. So, Jace and I decided to take ourselves out for dinner to Ruby Tuesdays. I'm not crazy about that place, but Jace and I had a good time. He was really good and of course tried to get everyone else in the restaurant to notice him. He's such a little narcissist. :lmao: He had his "usual" - grilled cheese. Then we shared some ice cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. He never gets stuff like that - he was so full of beans it was hard to get him to come down off his sugar high to go to bed. He was dancing around the kitchen :rotfl: .

Last night I picked up my copy of the Little Mermaid at the Disney store. And of course I had to pick up a cute Pooh onesie for Jace as well as more fake robeez Mickey's as they were on sale. Oh and I bought the cutest mickey and pooh dishes for him for when he gets a bit older and stops throwing everything of his highchair tray. Robin, I think you and I could do some severe damage if we ever got together for some shopping!!! My shopping continued online when I got home. I had been looking for a bathrobe for Jace for a month or so. I haven't had any luck searching the web, llbean, landsend, etc. Eureka!! Last night I rechecked baby gap and they had the cutest blue hooded robe with a bear on it and I got bear slippers to match. I am so excited!! DH & I call Jace "bear" so it's perfect.

Speaking of "Bear", do any of you call your kids by nicknames? Jace has so many he must get so confused. We call him Bear or Bear-Bear, P or Peanutty-Buddy, Pumpkin, punky, or punky brewster and T-Rex when he is having a tantrum. People think DH and I are nuts, but we have nicknames for everyone in my family. We don't call anyone by their real names. :)
We call my mother "Momma-Fresh" and DH's mother "Jo-Momma" (as her name is Joann). We're freaks right?

Ok, I'm totally rambling :rolleyes1 ...(sorry about that).

:hyper: :hyper: Me and DH about LOST tonight!!! We can't wait!!
Hope you all have a good night.

Evening, Ladies!

Noticed that Gymboree's new, New, styles are out today. Just in case Robin hasn't mentioned it. :teeth:

Gems - I don't think I will EVER understand that *man illness* thing!! My DH will work like a dog until he absolutely drops during the week. But give him a weekend and a tiny little cold? Mooooooaaaaannnnn. You'd think he had Malaria. I mean, we've regularly caught the same virus, while both of us had similar work schedules, and he has always said "you just don't understand how sick I am". :lmao:

And I've already bought something for my Christmas exchange pal - - I'm way ahead of myself! :teeth:

Does everyone wrap all the goodies they put in the box??

Lglblonde - thanks for sharing your son's story. :grouphug:

Dizagain - congrats on Carson's sleep!!!!! The one time Madeleine slept more than 3 hours, I woke up and started patting her in fear (and thus woke her up). :lmao:

Happy birthday tomorrow, GLT!!!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

My DH's birthday is also tomorrow, the 5th! I bought him a bunch of used X-box games off of Ebay for his birthday. Actually, a big a$$ heavy box of them. I'm hoping that will appease the video monster for a few months. Kailey bought him a cheesy card.

And truly - outside of bribery, I have been thinking of asking K's teacher if he wants a donation for classroom supplies. I don't quite know how that works - I'm guessing he gets a budget for class stuff and then either buys or begs for the rest, but is that Kosher for parents to offer to help???? We live in a good school district, but I'm sure he doesn't get paid that much .. .

BnB - Kailey is going to have her first field trip in a few weeks. *I* feel so grown up now. :thumbsup2 Anyhow, I believe it's the same maze, corn, pumpkin thing. :)

Ginamarie - WHEN might you be cruising in 2008?? :Pinkbounc Are you using a travel agent? We're looking at buying a car in a few months - but I'm hoping that won't ruin our vacation budget. :rolleyes1

Hillbeans - the only nicknames I've ever had were short-lived and terrible. :teeth:

Alissa - I hope you feel better soon! :guilty:

Robin - I'm sorry about the stress in your household - but in my house it always sort of fades away after the credit card is paid and people start packing. :thumbsup2

Val - I WISH my kids slept like rocks. But at least Madeleine is usually in a good mood. For a 2 month old, she almost never cries, and I'm relieved by that.

Now - to feed the cats, guinea pigs, and make Kailey's lunch. All in 10 minutes so I can get some sleep. :teeth:

joats--we call everyone around here nicknames too--Emma is "Teeter-beans", "Emma T", "The Teaser", etc. Matthew is "Mattie T" and "Buddy" I don't think anyone is called by their names around here--my mom is "Ja", don't ask, a long story! And my dad is Papa--then we have Nana, Papa Milt--it just goes on and on and on!!

alice--hope your DH relaxes a little on the $$$ issue--mine is pretty much the "budget nazi" around here--I had to ask him for some cashola for our trip to the pumpkin patch on Friday and I thought he was going to have a coronary over $10 (luckily a $55 rebate from Home Depot came in the mail yesterday, so now he's breathing easier! ) Your trip sounds heavenly!!!!

GLT--Happy B-day tomorrow!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

val--Glad you liked PO so much--we were scheduled to stay there when we did our Land/Sea thing a year or so ago, but DFIL upgraded us to AKL as a surprise! Happy Early Bday to you!!

fab--Happy bday to your DH! :yay: I'm really glad that my DH has never gotten into the video game thing--I bought him the original Playstation years ago and all it did was collect dust!

Diskim--Good luck with the house!!! Sounds wonderful--4500 ft!! Sounds like a mansion! :goodvibes Is it in NC or where you are now??? I must have missed that part

ryan--Magotts!!! Ick!! Hopefully they are gone for good--our scorpion friends came back to visit this week--and after a quick call, so did the exterminator--I hope they are gone for good this time!!!!

Lissawyn--I really hope you start to feel better! :grouphug: Make sure to take of yourself, especially during your pregnancy! Sending prayer and PD your way!

Gems--glad to hear that your scan went well! Can't believe your getting so close!

Bellacam--congrats on becoming an aunt!!

Hi to those I missed!

Well, I've been jogging on the treadmill pretty regularly for the past two weeks, and now I'm up to 4.5 miles a day--DH and I used to run a lot before kids came on the scene--anyway, I actually got out on the road tonight and did a little jog, and I forgot how much I loved running--It gives me such a high--So now I've convinced DH that he and I should train to do the Disney Marathon in 2008 (we've done a half-marathon before--the day we got engaged) Funny thing is, is that the marathon always falls within a couple of days of our anniversary--so I'm thinking drop the kids off at mom and dad's--spend a long weekend away with no kids and do the race--The course actually runs through all 4 parks--too cool!!! Well, DH is off the other computer so time to hop off here and spend some time with him!!! Have a great night all!

:bday: :bday: GLT, Happy Birthday!!! Enjoy your day (and year!) and celebrate well.

LglBlonde, welcome back! I love the picture of Jake. He looks great! You guys all went through a lot but after reading your website it sounds like everything that could have gone right for Jake did. He's a strong boy with quite the fighting spirit! Not to mention very cute! Oh, and sorry about the stalking!

Joats, that's too cute that Jace is a grilled cheese addict. I was too for a long time. Actually I still have a thing for them and when Henry was born my friend filled out my lunch request and ordered me one. :teeth: As far as nicknames, we used to call Madison "mee maw", as my husband spells it, but we sorta stopped cause we wanted to get her to use her own name. She came up with it herself, it meant something like mine/me/Madison combined if you can figure that out. But in an effort to get her to use all of those words we had to cut back on the mee maw. Henry is generally referred to by "the small one", though given his rate of growth that won't be appropriate much longer.

Alice28, sorry that your husband got weird on you like that. It sounds a lot like my issue with my husband and money. He's all about these big plans and buying expensive stuff he wants and then I'll buy something and he'll freak out that we have to save money. It sounds like you've got your trip budgeted pretty well though. I hope the Shades overflow rates come through for you. Oh, and we've been to Narcoosee's twice and enjoyed it both times. Once was our "honeymoon", in quotes cause my mom and Madison came with us to that meal. My mom was there to babysit so we could have a few meals alone, but my husband invited them both along and my mom seemed excited about it so they came. The other time was this past Christmas, same crew again. But I digress. It was pricey, but the food was great and the view was pretty nice too. Try to get in kinda early though cause like CG people like to linger over their meals so they have a view of the water parade and fireworks so if you have a later ADR then you end up waiting awhile.

Vald we have no idea where they flies came from, but I've very happy that they're gone! We do have a ton of flying insects in our area, evidenced by the 11 mosquito bites I got over the past 2 days just walking to the zoo and park. I just hope they don't return. And Happy Birthday to you just in case I don't have internet in Phoenix. I'll send some prayers out for your grandfather. :grouphug: It must be terrible to watch him get so sick. My father may have had liver cancer (he had a tumor, but at the point they found it the dr said it was pointless to biopsy so we never did) and I remember the pain he was in. It was hard on all of us, so lots of prayers and hugs to him and your family. :grouphug:

Kim, sorry you have to cancel the trip to NC and that everyone is sick. The house sounds perfect for you so I'll hope something works out in the way of a job down there. I know what you mean about not wanting to take the risk cause we stayed in DC for sorta that reason. We wanted to stay here, but mostly cause I wasn't thrilled with Rochester, MN and my husband wanted the familiar in GW rather than move anywhere but MN. If it helps sway you at all though, we both regret that decision in different ways now. We're happy here and we both love DC, but I think we would have been better off moving for a few years. I hope your aunt's recovery starts to get better and they take care of her drainage.

Lissawynn, I hope you feel a bit better tomorrow. If you lived closer I would definitely come pick up your exchange package! I caught many illnesses with my 2nd pregnancy too and it was terrible cause they just wouldn't leave. I think it's just the compromised immune system, but after months of morning sickness the last thing you want is cold after cold and other sicknesses.

Ryan840, I think the Pluto costume sounds adorable. Madison wanted to be Mickey for the longest time, and she wanted Henry to be Pooh. Well I wanted them to be Minnie and Mickey but she wouldn't go for it so I finally bought him Pooh. No sooner did I do that than she changed her mind and wanted Minnie. We get a lot of free pens from my husband too. I especially like the ones for viagra and the like-those always attract attention when someone wants to borrow my pen. ;)

Tasha, I had the same reaction as Alice28 when I saw those photos of Kylie! I cannot even believe that is her. She reminds me a lot of Madison, with her stuffed animal obsession and the hair that gets lighter as she gets older. Good luck with all your tests.

Gems, sorry about the man flu. Isn't that funny how men can get so deathly ill? ;) I'd like to know what would happen if we ever tried that. Doesn't he know that carrying an additional human around in your belly isn't exactly the most comfortable thing in the world? Mine is the same way, and having been in your shoes recently I sympathize.

Fabumouse, Henry is a light sleeper too and I don't like it very much. He sleeps well at night and if he's in his swing during the day, but otherwise he's very easily awakened and then turns into a grouch soon after. And with Madison around he gets very little afternoon sleep since she thinks her job in life is to keep Henry awake. Madison was the worst sleeper in the world, but once she finally fell asleep she was out. Of course, it was in my arms only ;) , but nothing was waking her. She's still like that. Henry doesn't even care if he's in my arms, the slightest sound and his eyes are open. I guess I can take that since at night he does a 7 and 4 hour stretch.

Hillbeans, add me to the list of people who would love to go to the Nick Lachey concert with you! Yeah, Madison has good taste when it comes to malls. My big disappointment was that Mrs. Fields closed down there. Aside from Au Bon Pain there is nowhere to get a snack in that mall and the restaurant lines are generally pretty long. We ate at Papa Razzi that night after every other place we went to had huge waits. PR was on the complete opposite end of the mall which was why we went there last, but luckily it was only a 20 minute wait.

Bellacam, congrats on your nephew! Share some pictures when you get a chance!

Floridafam, I'd try a new bra too since you have no idea what's causing the pain. Glad that everything came back okay, but I'm sure you'd love to have an answer for the cause. Hopefully it is something as simple as a bra.

Dizagain, happy birthday to your husband. And I like your family's way of celebrating much better than your husband's too. We always did the restaurant, but so did my husband's family so that made the decision easy for us now. Madison went to Don Pablo's for her 2nd birthday and they took a picture of her in a big sombrero.

Ginamarie, Madison was and is a sleep fighter too. It's funny how you don't believe babies like that exist till you have one yourself. Good luck with your oil tank stuff.

BnB, cider would be very nice right now. Last fall we went to a pumpkin patch that had some pretty good cider and you've inspired me to go back this month to get some more. Glad the field trip was fun.

Jill, speaking of the pumpkin patch, the one we went to last year was somewhere near you, but I don't remember the name of it. I'm sure you know though cause it's a huge place and they have pony rides, hay rides, a petting farm, slides, face painting, and other stuff. We went from the Patriot Center last year after we saw Incredibles on Ice. Let me know if you know the name of it-if not I'll look around for it and tell you in case you want to check it out.

Nucpharm, we banned food and drink outside the kitchen when we moved here in May. Madison never did sippy cups cause she couldn't figure out the mechanism so that left a lot of spill potential. I slacked on this after Henry was born just cause it was easier for me cause she buckles herself into her booster seat in the kitchen and then can't get out, but I've been breaking the habit recently.

I think I finally managed to get to everyone from the past 2 days! Madison closed her fingers in the classroom door at school today and was pretty sad about that. She was fine, hardly a mark, but I felt bad seeing her little tear stained face when I picked her up. I have to finish packing now and then get to bed. My husband's off tomorrow so he will be taking Madison to school. Not that it's a big deal cause it's maybe 10 minutes round trip, but I'll take what I can get. Maybe Henry will cooperate and I can get some extra sleep in so I can handle the flight tomorrow afternoon. I still have so much to do but I needed a nice break like this. We've gone to the zoo everyday this week and that uphill walk back is so exhausting-but I think it's paying off cause I'm 3 pounds lighter!!! Of course, maybe that's just the blood the mosquitoes sucked out of me though. Anyway, I hope to have an internet connection in Phoenix, but if not, have a great weekend! And I mailed out my package so my exchange buddy should be getting her package by Saturday.

-So now I've convinced DH that he and I should train to do the Disney Marathon in 2008 (we've done a half-marathon before--the day we got engaged)

Excellent!!! We will be doing the half marathon and almost surely staying at the Poly (yes, if you count it up, I have 3 Disney trips currently planned - over the next 2 years :teeth: ) Maybe we'll get to see you run by? :thumbsup2

FF - I still have your address from last time so I will mail out that VS coupon to you tomorrow. I can't believe how hot is is still here either! Though at least alot of the humidity is gone and the nights are much cooler and we've been going for walks again after dinner. I am sick of the hot weather!

Diskim - that house sounds AWESOME. I too, found a house in Raleigh while looking on Realtor.com.....wishing I was in NC with my sister this past weekend. Here is a link to what I want: http://realestate.aol.realtor.com/F...756114060C7C&snumxlid=1058509775&lnksrc=00001 My sister really loved it there but is having a hard time thinking she may move away from all her friends and other side of the family. She doesn't know if she can do it after all. It is a hard decision.

Robin - don't feel bad about the credit card thing. If it makes you feel any better, we have paid our cards to zero 3 times in the past year and a half. They are currently back up to $7k.....which is far more than I am comfortable with. But I have decided to not sweat it anymore. Things happened and we needed some things and we wanted some things and they'll be paid off again. We will always have debt, as long as it stays where it is, or preferably LOWER, I will be ok.

GLT - AGAIN HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW since I was a bit premature.

Hillary - Glad you shared the Nick news! I can't wait to see the pics you get!!!

Well, I am off to bed. I barely slept last night so I am off to take an ambien and hopefully sleep through the night tonight. I hate that I have to rely on these pills but last night I tried to go it with no pills and slept 3 hours. I can't make it with 2 kids all day and 3 hours sleep.

Plus, I've got a hair coloring appt tomorrow morning AND a girls night out tomorrow night and need some energy.

Goodnight moms!! :cloud9:

Z- OMG- that house is so gorgeous for only $299K! Holy cow! Some friends of DH's moved to Charlotte a few years ago and got a mini mansion! Their house in San Jose sold for over 500K (a tiny little house) and they got some 4000sq foot place on land for half that! I can't imagine!

And we have been awful with Credit cards the last several years; between DH's job changes (2 involved pay decreases; finally this Kaiser one brought him back up to what we were making when we BOTH worked), DH being overseas and having to charge a lot of safety equipment that the Army did not supply, me quitting my job, etc we had our debt jacked up to 20,000. No lie. And now it's down to $3,000 and DH was freaking over today. I didn't get it. It was like, we are better than we have been in YEARS and finally have a salary that we can live within our means upon....and he's flipping. I've been giving myself stomach aches the last 8 years over our debt and now am feeling good, as we can pretty easily pay $3K off before we go on our trip, plus we usually get 2-3K of a tax return to pay the balance of the trip.

There, that felt good to get off my chest.

Sniff, sob, sniff, I CANCELLED my Gymboree online cart since I don't have the cash to buy the stuff this week with my Gymbucks. I am so bummed. My mom still has one, and I might just have to use it to buy the boys each a pair of pants and a shirt. Surely DH won't wig over $25. He just kills me. I had to just bite my tongue to stop from pointing out all his impulse buys since he's been home. Life goes on.

We just cannot live the lifestyle we led growing up, and that's been a tough lesson for us. We both came from two income familes whose parents earned a good wage and they budgeted their money well too. It's been hard for us to downshift and realize we cannot live like our parents live.

Val- I get to go to WDW again because I promised DH 'favors'. LOL. Can anyone say, "Bikini wax?" :rotfl: The topic has come up again. :rolleyes1

Joats- I know we would be great shopping buddies (when my DH isn't being weird). Sounds like you got some fun stuff! And had a fun date with Jace! I call Molly Peanut, Nut, Miss Molly....Josh is Doodle....Sam is SammyB. :teeth:

lissa- I was terribly sick throughout my second pregnancy too. I remember being so sick the first 17-18 weeks with nausea (although not as severe as you I don't think), and then from about 18-24 weeks having strep/cold/allergies, and then being miserably huge the last 13-14 weeks. So, I truly sympathize with you! Whine here anytime- I always do.

Kim- I'm sorry your Aunt isn't doing too great. I hope she starts perking up really soon! And that house in NC sounds very promising. I will hold some good thoughts for it, just in case something works out job wise! :cloud9:

Fab- what about a Target gift card for the teacher? I know they even have ones that look like a pencil...just a thought.

Oh, and for a boring explanation of my kidney stones- there are 3 different types. I'm a lucky girl and my body chemistry makes two of them. I get uric acid ones, which usually are the result of eating too much meat (so not me, so it's purely just my body chem). But I can take a pill (allopurinol for my pharm friend Steph :teeth: ) to prevent them. Then there are the calcium oxate stones- those are the truly sucky one. It isn't that extra calcium forms them- it's the oxate in foods that form calcium stones. So foods rich in anti-oxidants, that I'm SUPPOSED to eat to ward off cancer, like berries, green leafy veggies (which I am mad about- I mean to counter the low protein I try to eat lots of salads.....but now that is hard cause I am only supposed to have a cup of dark lettuce a day and iceberg is so blah), teas, chocolate, certain nuts....my doctor actually said that drinking skim milk and eating lo-fat cheese helps the body absorb the calcium better and makes the stones more rare. There is no medicine to take to prevent, only diet. :guilty:
nucpharm- WTG on the running! The half marathon sounds like quite a goal! You can do it!

Justhat- thanks for the reviews on Narcoossees! I'm glad Madison's finger isn't hurting her too badly.

BNB- Bummer about not being about to have the cider you enjoy. Soon you will be able to! Next fall anyway, right?

Ryan- EEK about the maggots! I found some ants in our kitchen yestrerday...they always come in this time of year....Glad your DH was able to get to them and exterminate them. Yukko...

75 minutes til LOST! And DH is working swing shift tonight- he doesn't like the show, so I'm glad he's not here to sigh and roll his eyes at it. I did get him addicted to Amazing Race this time though, so score one for me!

Hillbeans- I can't say I am a Nick fan, but I will go on record as I sympathize totally with him vs. Jessica. I watched a few episodes of their show and he seemed darn down to earth and she was an idiot!

OK, time to put the last load of laundry away!

I love LOST, but the commercials pi**ed me off! What did those of you who watched it think?

zalansky- That house is gorgeous and a great price!

joats- Alex has had so many nick names I can't remember them all- they went in phases. The ones that have stuck around are Little Bear and Alexammer Hammer (when he first learned his name he said Alexammer) or Alexammer Hammerhead Shark if I'm feeling goofy. He's also been Brutus, A.D., every form of pumpkin you can imagine, peanut, John, George or Bob and several more that I can't think of right now. Jack is mostly Jack-Jack or J.C and sometimes pooty-roo or pooty-toot and in his early days he was known as Mr. Pissy Pants. I just blurt things out and they stick :teeth:

justhat- It figures that Madison would change her mind after you bought the costume doesn't it? Kids! How is her hand feeling now? Too funny about the viagra pens. I must be spacing because I know you've been mentioning going to Pheonix but I can't remember why... I'll have to scroll back and see. Have fun!

nucpharm- How fun to do the marathon in WDW! I wish I could run but it just kills me. Eek about the scorpions coming back- our centipedes still make daily appearances and sadly I'm beginning to think of them as family. Not really but they barely phase me anymore- one ran right past me when I was down on the floor with Jack the other day and I screamed, killed it and went right back to playing. A month ago I would have been jumping to safety on the furniture and sleeping with the lights on for a week.
They are nasty looking things I tell you!

DisKim- I know you don't want to get your hopes up or anything, but your plan sounds great! I hope your household is feeling better soon and that your aunt heals soon.

vald- A shopping excursion sounds fun! I'm a libra too- how many of us are there, 5?

fabumouse- You're really on top of things for the Christmas exchange!

Hi to everyone else, have a great night!

ETA- Robin, you keep posting while I do! I agree with you about Nick Lachey, he's cute but I'm not into his music or anything, but I used to love watching him on newlyweds because of the way he was so normal. Some of his reactions to her cracked me up!

I can't fall asleep. I am just feeling so crappy that sleep won't even come. Project Runway was a no-show tonight as the storms we had kept Bravo off the air.
I guess part of me is worried about work, even though all of my colleagues have told me to just stay home and get some rest. I can't help it. I've very conscienscious about my job and take pride that I do what I do. Missing a whole week has never happened before with the exception to trips to WDW and my maternity leave.

I'm going to send my lesson plans to my friend and try to go to sleep. I had a friend growing up who always came down with bronchitis. She spent many a day in an oxygen tent in the hospital. Right now that doesn't sound half bad to me. It would probably bring me the first decent sleep I've had in a week.

Night all.

Ryan - first, about the maggots, I can soooo relate. That happende to me acouple months ago, it was NASTY!!! It took quite a while to clean up the garage and get rid of them all.

Second, I have soo many pics of DS wearing tutus and the such, one day DH walked in and DS was wearing ballet shoes, a tutu and crown of sorts :rotfl2: I think it's melded in his head forever. :lmao: I think little brothers of big sisters have a natural instinct to be just like their sisters

Robin - Sorry to hear DH has given you a hard time. But it does sound like you have quite the trip planned. Thanks for the wishes for a great year, that's exactly what I prayed for last night!! Sorry you had to cancel the gymbo purchase :sad2: I think $25 is fair! Those $ stress stomach aches you just got rid of, I'm harnessing them now!!

lissawynn - not to be a nag, but if I lived there I'd drag your butt to the dr! Feel better soon!! :wizard:

diskim - good luck with the house :wizard: Sounds perfect and gorgous! I'd have to come visit :teeth: I hope everyone feels better soon. Around here there is a sore throat virus going around, DS had it, now DD and DH has had all kinds of stuff lately, throat thing a few weeks ago and today a stomach bug. ick.

Val - Don't think I mentioned it before, welcome back! We want pics!! Monday is my dad's b'day too :) Any big celebration plans this weekend? A shopping trip, I just saw. Wonderful! I hope you have fun and get everything you want!

joats - thank you so much for the b'day wishes, and for the happy day wishes! Cute about Jace dancing around the kitchen, I am sure he was adorable!
So what's your nickname?

fabumouse, how I wish there was a gymbo nearby to visit! Thanks for the b'day wishes! My DH is way into games too, but mostly the fantasy kind. Sounds like the perfect gift! Happy b'day to DH!! A supplies list wouldn't be an offhand request. I was telling DD yesterday that we should donate some items to her teachers "gift" box, he awards the kids after they have 10 stars. DD is on her second prize already!! Hope you got everything done - I had to make snack, lunch, feed the cat and load the dishwasher before I could DIS, a mom's job is never done ;)

nucpharm - thank you for the b'day wishes! Have fun at the pumpkin farm! That sounds like a wonderful way to bond with dh and exercise and go to Disney and to celebrate your anniversary! Good for you for loving to run so much, and for thinking about doing 26 miles :thumbsup2

justhat - thank you for well wishes for a great year! I could use all the well wishes I can get! :sad2: poor Madison. I know exactly how you felt when you picked her up. Great about the 3 pounds! Enjoy your trip to the Phoenix! When do you get back?

zalansky - thank you for the b'day wishes! Sounds like fun, getting your hair done and going out with the girls! I hope you get the rest you need tonight. That house is to die for ! I LOVE the porch, tons of bedrooms and all it has. What a house!

hillbeans - enjoy the concert, when is it?

Gems - glad Frumpy is growing well. Everytime I read that name I :) , love it! We have a friend who's baby was named "Prugny" and it's still in my head, she's now 20 :lmao: The slippers sound very warm and comfy!! Thanks for the b'day wishes. I would have been furstrated with dh too!

Thank you so much ladies for being my friend and for the warm b'day wishes. I really do need it! I have been in such a funk lately. DH and I aren't fighting but seem to be living two different lives and passing in the wind so i have been feeling kinda alone. We have not a thing planned for me tomorrow. I have premade a casserole for dinner, hope to workout tomorrow evening, will buy myself a VERY YUMMY muffin for breakfast after taking both kids to school - and snack to school for DS. Ohh, and I plan on buying myself a cake  I LOVE cake, it's my biggest weakness ever!! even more than chocolate. .. anywho, thank you. :cloud9:

Night ladies. When I wake I will 35 - YIKES. I think I'll stick with GM's suggestion and stay 34 forever! :teeth:

I'm going to bed. I just went downstairs to get the carseat bag and ended up cleaning and organizing the whole area. Our house is kinda weird in that when you enter the front door from outside you're in a stairwell, kinda like a basement. It's a room actually, but for no purpose other than storage and the stairs which go up to another "front door" to the "real" house, and then up another flight to another door the 2nd floor of the house. Well when we moved in my husband and mother (who can be strangely alike at times  ) decided to be so helpful to pregnant me by just throwing tons of random stuff in this basementy area. I tried this summer to organize it but we have an entry table down there opposite the stairs, leaving a narrow walkway to the back of the room, which was hard to walk through with my huge belly. So right before Henry was born I did all of the holiday decorations except Christmas, packed them in big Tupperware bins, and brought them into the house to store in a big closet under the internal stairs to the 2nd floor. But there is still a ton of stuff, and since the stuff is so arbitrarily placed back there it's impossible to find anything so for some stupid reason I decided tonight would be a good time to work on that while looking for the carseat bag. It looks much better and all that I really have to do now is buy some more bins for the outdoor/summer toys and the rest of the Christmas stuff and it'll actually look nice. That is my goal since it's the first thing you see when you enter our house. But enough rambling.

GLT, I have been in phases with my husband like you described and it stinks. I think it's especially hard cause you live together so it gets kinda awkward and the person you'd normally talk to about it is the one involved. :grouphug: And I am a cake addict too. I have stopped baking them cause I eat too much of it when I do. For Mother's Day I asked, well told, my husband to get me an ice cream cake and he did but he got a flavor he liked and it was freezer burned anyway. My MIL ended up eating most of it when she helped us pack up the freezer when we moved. Enjoy yours cause I find a good cake can always make me feel a bit happier and I think you deserve it. :goodvibes Oh, and we get back Tuesday night. I'm really looking forward to the flights alone with my kids-I should have asked you how you managed since you had 3 of them alone, but of course now I have no time to prepare anyway. I'm such a good planner. :lmao:

Ryan840, we have no real purpose in going to Phoenix. My mom has a conference there and she invited us so we're going. At first I had said no, but then I learned that Madison does not have school Friday and Monday and my husband is on call 2 days over the 4 day weekend, and working the other 2, so I realized I'd be home all day with both kids so I figured if I'm going to be alone with them anyway, might as well do it in Phoenix. Of course, I have no idea what I will be doing in the morning when my mom has meetings cause I don't think I can take both kids to the pool myself and the rental car will be in my mom's coworker's name so I can't drive it myself. At least there's a free buffet breakfast everyday.

Zalansky, nice house! That makes me want to move out of DC more than anything. I don't even want to think about how much this house cost us and how much smaller it is.

Well my real purpose in coming back to this thread tonight was that I forgot about the nickname Madison gave to Henry which she and I say a lot. She calls him Henry Octopus, like the Wiggles Character. I think it suits him well, being blob-like with limbs waving about just like an octopus. We have made special trips to the invertebrate house at the zoo everyday this week just to see the octopus.

And one more story before I really go to bed. Madison realized that I leave her at school today. As in, don't sit outside on the bench waiting for her. She's had her suspicions before, but was pretty convinced that I wait for her at school instead of going home. I found this out at camp this summer when I mentioned coming back home and she gave me a look of horror and said something like "No, you don't go home, you wait in the hallway." Well today I left Henry's pjs on him when we took Madison to school since I was giving him a bath after we dropped her off. He was wearing a one piece sleeper from the Disney Store, white and blue with Mickeys on it. After his bath I put him in a red short sleeve/leg one piece outfit with a big Mickey head (from WDW when I found out he was a boy). When Madison saw him she said "Mommy, you go to my new house?" so I told her that's where we were going now (she still calls this place her new house). She repeated herself and so did I, knowing full well what she was getting at. Then she clarified by saying "Mommy you leave me when I at school?" I asked her what made her think that and she said "Henry's wearing a Mickey shirt." I tried telling her I keep a spare outfit in the diaper bag for him but she gave me a look like she knew I was lying. My husband was surprised she noticed his clothes, but I explained that's just cause he doesn't even remember what he's wearing let alone anyone else.

Okay, definitely bedtime for me. I wish I were one of those people who could go to bed early cause I'd actually get a lot of sleep. I moved Henry's bedtime earlier cause he was too grouchy in the evening so he sleeps from 6:30-1:30, then gets up again around 5 (perfect timing since I get up at 6  ). So if I went to bed with Madison at 7ish, like my husband :lmao: , then I'd get quite a few uninterrupted hours, but I just can't make myself do it. Maybe I'll make that a new goal.

I know I said I"m going to bed... But I have to tell you all my good news. Remember how I complained about my husband working Christmas? Well he asked the chief resident about switching since he had requested Christmas off cause we have little kids and he sent out an updated schedule today and he's been switched! The bizarre part is that with his 5 days off he told me he might want to go back to WDW to do a MVMCP. Believe it or not I'm not so thrilled only cause we're spending a fortune there in November and we're trying to plan something for his February vacation too (though not WDW) so the idea of spending more money at Christmas is scary, but unfortunately it doesn't take too much to convince me about a vacation so I think he might win. I think only if we can get an AP rate at a value though cause I really don't want to spend more than that. We literally have no expendable income like we did when we got to take out loans, but it's been hard to realize that. I think it will all set in very soon when the loan people start demanding to be paid back. Anyway, the bed is calling.

Oh, how I wish I had time to catch up right now. Aidan woke up coughing and hacking at 11pm (right when I was about to fall asleep). He started throwing up all over the place. Of course, DH was out at one of his many jobs. I called him up screaming that this is ridiculous that I don't have a husband home at 11 pm to help me. I could see if he worked nights but he has a full time day job. Something has to change. My DH literally works 4 different jobs for the school district.

lissawynn- I feel so bad for you. I hope you get better today. You can't worry about work. They will be okay. You can't push yourself when you are pregnant.

GLT - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! party: :bday:

Ryan- Sorry about the maggots!

DisKim- I will secretly cross my fingers for you about the house. It sounds really nice.

Val- I’ll say a prayer for your grandpa.

Joats- Sounds like you had a nice night out with Jace. I have all sorts of nicknames for my family members. I can’t even remember where some of the names came from anymore.

Fabumouse- We’re definitely looking at cruising in the fall, probably sometime between September and November. I really wanted to do the 10 or 11 night Southern Caribbean itinerary this year, but we just couldn’t swing it. We’ve gone on two Disney cruises before, both times in mid-November. The 2008 schedule hasn’t been released yet, but I’m going to see what the itinerary options are when they come out and then make a decision. Luckily, I don’t have to worry about school schedules yet.

Nucpharm- The marathon looks like a lot of fun. I’d never make it through the full marathon, but maybe the half-marathon.

Justhat- Thank goodness the flies went back from whence they came! Great news about your DH getting his schedule switched for Christmas.

GLT- Happy Birthday! I know what you mean about feeling like two ships passing in the wind with your DH. Mine is working 12 hour days 6 days a week now, so he’s home very little. Then when he is home, he’s either falling asleep or completely busy with whatever projects he can’t get done while he’s at work.

We’re working on frankencouch again today. I’ll check in with you guys tonight!
