I have to get in bed very soon but since everyone is sleeping (yes, again, the whole family but me

) might as well enjoy the silence. Dinner was okay. Henry decided to be fussy right as my meal came so I ate a few bites then wrapped him up in a blanket and walked around a bit and he fell asleep. Unfortunately my meal was a salad so can't really take that home, but it was already boxed by the time I got back. I guess when I told my husband to save it he thought I meant for home.

I told him to order my dessert and he looked at me like I was crazy since I was wasn't even sitting at the table, but I said "Look, we only come here for one reason and that is the dessert so I don't care if I have to eat it standing up, we're getting it." And we did.

Those of you with a Champps near you try the Cookie Espress. Henry was asleep before it came out anyway so all was well. We got home and Joey gave Madison a bath and then she had a minor meltdown over not getting to wear the Minnie costume to bed (curse me for ever showing her) but my husband decided to be helpful and actually stood up and rocked her in his arms till she calmed down and then they both laid down together and fell asleep. I admit to some feelings of contempt watching him sleep while I was up folding clothes, but then I remembered last night and calmed down.
Lissawynn, that exact problem you state with your neighbor's kid is what my husband complains about literally everyday. All, well almost all, of his patients do not have insurance, but they demand every medical procedure, test, medication, etc. that they can think of. And he has to do them all, all the while going insane at the thought that we're paying for it. To top it off, many of them are terminal due to things they do to themselves and he'll tell them this, they know they have X amount of time left because of their own doing, have no intentions of changing their lifestyles, but they demand everything possible. One even demanded a new lunch yesterday cause one of hte drs touched his tray and he said he would not eat it now. But when I had Henry and he had to stay an extra night for the jaundice, and my insurance approved me to stay another night too, the hospital was trying to kick me out! A case manager literally came into my bathroom while I was showering to tell me to go home. We were paying and they wanted to get rid of me, but my husband's free patients stay forever! One stayed cause he couldn't get a taxi to go home and the hospital let him stay another night, no medical reason at all. Ridiculous!
And fwiw, I think you should eat the ice cream! I ate an entire pint for lunch once this summer.

Oh, and my husband's reply when I told him you were having a girl was "Good for her. I like having girls. Henry doesn't do anything." As though that's related to him being a boy and not the fact that he's a month old.

I love your bedding choice too. With Madison I had a blue set that probably wasn't all that girly, but I liked it. It was a moon and stars theme. Henry has sheep. I'm not one for pink and frilly either so I can understand that. I think the ladybugs has a very classic look.
Alice28, I hope at least the headache is gone for you. I would be annoyed with neighbors constantly acting like that too. I think our neighborhood is pretty similar, but I only know one neighbor so I don't get involved in much. Good luck with that-maybe it would be nice to move just for the change of pace.
Dizagain, I have another one to add to your list when you call CPS. My friend's kid (the ones I was watching when I took the metro last week) rolled out of her bathtub on the kitchen table onto the tile floor, hitting a chair on the way down. She's just under 4 months old. And no, she wasn't getting a bath, she just likes to sit in her bathtub for some reason. And her son (21 months) rolled off the couch and broke his collarbone this summer. She's an inmate waiting to be found! I hope your husband is in better spirits tonight. I definitely think it's something in the air. Mine would have picked up the older kid and left me with the baby too-he never wants to stay alone with Henry.
Jill, sorry you've got so much going on. If you weren't so busy I'd suggest we meet at Champps in Pentagon Row cause Wednesday is Ladies Night and you can get $5 margaritas and $5 manicures. Of course I spent my time there holding Henry so the manicure was out, but the idea would be nice. Right now though it would be more of a chore for you than a relaxation. I hope you can get some rest this weekend. I just read your post about New Nick. We have 3 Nicks actually, Old Nick (pictured below), New Nick (from a Gymbo line around February), and Nick Three, or Nick Fee in Madisonspeak. Nick Fee was made a month ago in Myrtle Beach. New Nick was the one who got peed on today and spent his night in the washing machine. Apparently what happened was that she decided to move him (he went to the potty with her) while she was on the toilet, so she got off but I guess "leaked" on him. Hard to understand, but something like that. ANd so sorry to hear about Meagan. Did she need stitches or anything like that? I hope she's feeling better.
Hillbeans, I meant to say earlier that Liam looked so cute at his party. I loved the cake, as did Madison who was looking at the pictures with me. Congrats to Liam for walking too!

He timed that right-the excitment of his birthday passed so he had to rekindle the flame!
Tkyes, your Cozumel trip sounds like fun. You've inspired me cause we never really had a "honeymoon" and recently I have been longing for a trip without my kids. We did go on a honeymoon trip to WDW and a
Disney cruise, but we had 3 month old Madison with us so not quite the same. Very exciting for you that baby #2 might be on its way soon after your trip! Enjoy Mexico cause the opportunity for a trip like that doesn't present itself as readily once you've got 2 young ones. Well in my case it didn't with just one either, we only took one trip without her and it was to Nashville and I was pregnant and sick.
My husband's got that man-disease of holding the remote, even when he's sleeping and I am not kidding when I say this but every night he drops it on the floor when he's sleeping. Since we moved here in May. You'd think by now he'd learn and put the stupid thing on the bed or his nighttable, but nope, it just crashed to the floor again!

Well, I've been on here much longer than I planned, but I think I've finally caught up. As much as possible anyway cause I think I'll be perpetually behind for a couple of months! Night all!
ETA: I was in bed and realized we forgot to set the alarm so I went downstairs and stepped on that purple ghost toy that Madison got in the exchange and almost had a heart attack! I thought it was an animal or something. Not sure how to describe it, but those plastic tube things filled with some kind of gel/liquid, and you hold it and it slips through your hand. Very funny to me now that I know what it was, but gosh, Robin, you really had me freaked out for a minute!
