Hey everyone - looks like y'all had a good weekend!

Justhat - funny that you have to insist that Madison get *into* the stroller, I can barely get Kailey out of ours! I'm so sorry about your Metro experience - you must have terrified. Sorry also about the mean mom - I don't get how people can forget how long it takes little kids to understand how the world works. :guilty:

Robin - YAYYYY for you on the car sale! :cheer2:

GLT - I totally understand your exhaustion. Kailey was so hard when she was a baby - once she woke up, it took an hour to get her to settle down and go back to sleep and I was usually so wound up by them that I couldn't sleep again until - she woke up again.

SL - congratulations on the haircut! Kailey and I went to the salon yesterday and she got her her done for upcoming school photos.

It really made me appreciate her age. Sometimes I forget how easy she is compared to a baby because she still has her moments - but we really had a nice time hanging out at the salon together and then going to starbucks afterward. :goodvibes

Jill - I hope that John has been sleeping! I tell you, that whole "sleeping like a baby" is so misleading! Then of course, they're fussy the next day because DUH, they're tired!

Tasha & Scott - yay on the daycare working out! My IL's watch Deal or No Deal too, and since I don't, I rarely get why they are yelling NO DEAL! at various situations.

Gemma - I am so sorry!!! I am so glad that your poor tummy and Shelby's poor tummy are better now. :guilty:

Dizagain - Oh good lord, NO, I'm not going to clean my bathroom. I didn't even shower today because - remember, my hair was done yesterday - so it looked just fine this morning. A little stringy now, but DH left for Texas and the kids don't notice or care. And if I'm not going to wash myself, I'm not cleaning the stinkin' house. :lmao:

Anyhow, the thread caught my eye because I rarely (meaning never) get excited about household cleaning products. No matter how icky my shower is. ;)

Joats - I tried my best not to go to Disney pregnant, but that didn't work out - and it's not so bad - really. I saw some things I wouldn't have seen otherwise. :)

And on the flip side gals, I took advantage of DH being very very tired last night and said - well then why the heck won't you get a vasectomy?? Do you really want to take a chance? :teeth: Oh, and I called him a weenie again for good measure - childbirth vs. a little groin pain - c'mon!. Anyhow, he traded me: one good night of sleep for a vasectomy. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Hi Everyone -

Liam's party was a huge success....it was a little on the rainy side about an hour before the party, but then it got nicer outside and the kids played all day long in the yard. The first of the guests came at 12 and the last of the guests left at 8:00!!!!!

It was funny - it almost seemed like we had two separate parties because the real party was to start at 12, and we had tons of BBQ food and then cut the cake around 3, but when some of the earlier guests left at around 4pm, we had a group of about 10 neighbors and 4 other guests come over at around 4:30 and they stayed until it got dark outside. In hindsight I should have had dinner planned because of all the guests that came later. They seemed happy having cake and leftovers, but maybe next time i'll actually have a whole separate meal ready for the late crowd!

I hate to even admit this but I don't even have a picture of Liam eating his cake. I didn't let him mush the cake because I had 30 guests who wanted to eat it. I do have some other pictures of the day which i'll post tomorrow - we've had such a whirlwind weekend that this is the first time i've sat down since Friday night!

I'm going to try and get a few minutes tomorrow to catch up with everyone - I feel like I'm way behind!

Jill - sorry some girls caused a commotion at your daughter's sleepover! It's a shame a few bad apples had to ruin the night and upset your daughter on her birthday.

Talk with everyone tomorrow -Have a good night.

Hillbeans - thrilled that Liam's party was a success! You always know people are having fun when you have to finally boot them out at the end of the night. :thumbsup2

Hello, Hello all! :sunny:

Dsis and I had a WONDERFUL time this weekend! Big Cedar Lodge was so nice--it's nice to go to another resort outside of Disney that's as well-themed as a disney resort. However, you have to be okay with a lot of dead stuffed animals around--it's supposed to be like someone's hunting lodge. But it was awesome. We had a corner room with 2 private patios--a huge jacuzzi tub and separate tiled shower. The room was at least as big as a DVC studio and, I hate to say it, the bed's were much more comfortable than a DVC room--gotta love those down comforters and feather beds! :thumbsup2

We dealt with some scary weather Friday night. Tornado warnings all over the place and we were driving back to the resort during the worst of it. Good thing I had 4 new tires on our van!

Branson, itself, was just okay. I told Dsis that if Vegas "had Jesus" it would be just like Branson (hope that wasn't offensive) :rotfl: But we spent most of our time shopping. With 2 outlet malls and a new higher end mall, we spent all our $$$. I got Matthew some of the fake Robeez at Disney outlet for $4.50--so excited! And then I got Emma a fun Ariel outfit for a xmas present as well. We went on a winery tour and got lots of free samples!!! Then we spent last night out on the patio of a restaurant and watched what we dubbed as "Hillbilly Karaoke"! :lmao: It's amazing the people that got up to sing!

It sounds like everyone had a nice weekend! Now it's back to the grind for me--Hope your weeks start out with a great night's sleep tonight! Until tomorrow.......

Hillbeans, glad to hear Liam's party was a lot of fun! Can't wait to see some of his photos.

Fabumouse, the only time Madison really wanted to go in her stroller was the first few weeks after Henry was born and only cause we put him in the stroller. So I carried him in the Bjorn and let her have her stroller for awhile and now she's over that and likes to help push him or if she really gets tired of walking then she'll hang on the handlebar on the back and stand on the basket. We were going to buy the Peg Perego Pliko P3 and I still do want it, but we went to BRU Saturday and she sorta had a hard time standing on the back cause the shade kept getting in her way. And when the seat was reclined partway she had trouble too. We tried the Joovy Caboose but it was so heavy to lift. I really want the Fisher Price Active Gear version but I can't find it anywhere. They had them on display at BRU in July but not anymore and I can't find them for sale anywhere.

My mom is on the phone so I can't go to bed (she has a talking disease!). She asked me to look up her conference in DL next November to check on when she can register. I did and then decided to check the DL website for hotel availibility and guess what, both the GC and DLH are booked for that time. November 3-8 2007! It's over a year away! How insane is that. So we're really hoping that she can get the GC through her conference, but unfortunately the onsite registrations take priority and she's not going to this year's conference. I really want to stay there cause it's free so I hope it works out! Well as soon as she hangs up I'm off to bed. Tomorrow is my postpartum checkup and I convinced my husband to come so that Madison gets to ride the metro train again. She loves that thing and I don't want to take them myself again!

Hey Justhat - we cannot push a regular stroller on our sidewalks because they're all slate bricks. It's a big thing with our local historical society - which is nice, except when the town fixes sidewalks, it's all a nice flat cement. And I'm here, voting for flat cement for everyone!! I love old houses, but old sidewalks stink. Anyhow, I'm just waiting for Madeleine to be big enough for the jogging stroller. :teeth:

And glad I live near (and go to) WDW instead of DL. :thumbsup2

justhat -hope your appt. goes well. I can't blame you for not wanting to take the kids on the Metro yourself. my kids would love the metro too. After living 1/2 my life in NY it's hard to believe that my kids have never had to take public transportation, cabs or have even seen the ocean. Such a different life they have from what DH and I had. Not bad, just different.

Robin - your trip sounds wonderful! Keep us posted on all your planning details. Maybe I can live vicariously through you!

nucpharm - you may appreciate this, I just realized today that I think we are in Wis. too long . . . Dd said "bubbler" for water fountain and DS said he wanted to watch the Packers game :joker: DH and I are avid NY fans so to have a kid want to see Packers just seems insane to us. . . glad your trip went well. I swear, some of you DIS moms get the best shopping deals. I think I need to give each of you some $$ to do some shopping for me!

joats - I make one meal and serve it (unless it is a casual meal and then I may give other choices). They eat whatever they want, they don't eat, they have to wait until the next time we eat -- though I do give in on some healthy snacks depending on the time of day. But I've had plenty of times the kids have gone to bed with hardly eating anything for dinner. I just tell them "this is not a restaurant"

fabumouse - dh has been promising a vasectomy for a year. No move on his part to do it though, and I'm not convinced I never want kids again (though since old age is hitting  ) so anywho, we'll see if he ever decides to get it taken care of. Hope your DH is braver!

Hillbeans - glad the party went well, can't wait to see pics!

Anyone see the Brothers & Sisters show? I think I have enough drama in my life that seeing more just stresses me out  I did enjoy Desperate Housewives though! I just LOVE that show. It cracks me up!

Hope all is well with DIS mommies. Have a great night and happy Monday.

WOO HOO I CAUGHT UP!! :woohoo:

FF - I will be sorting out the Christmas Exchange in 3 weeks or so, so if there is anyone else who wants to join in, I am not sure if Dizagain or Fabmouse were on this thread when we talked about it then please PM me and I will send you the list of info that I need to know. I can't wait either exchanges are so much fun!! I might even start to get a few generic goodies together for my pal now I love Christmas!! I am like a Who from Whoville!

Jill - Sorry that your sleepover went bad, I can't believe how they behaved, I think I would have called their parents! Did you warn them that you would?

SL- Can't you buy Lucas hs ravioli when you get to WDW? I am so lucky that Shelby will eat anything! And I mean anything!

Kim - Men just don't think do they!!?? You are obviously a great Mommy if he thinks that you could do it all again with another baby!

Robin - You are making me more jealous with all this talk of hawaii! I am 26 in December by the way, but some days I feel like 106!!

Hillbeans - So glad that the party went well! Please post some pictures when you get a chance.

Lissawynn - Good luck for the US! I can't wait to hear what you are having!

Nuchpharm - Cedar Lodge sounds wonderful, scary aboout the tornados though, I wouldn't like that at all! I am kind of glad that the weather in the UK is tame compared to the USA!

Justhat - Glad you got rid of the flies! I bet it was YUK! I hope that your Mom can get DL for November, I can't believe that it's booked for 07 already!

Fabmouse - I keep telling DH that he can get a vas when this baby arrives as I am so done with pregnancy and babies after this one! I don't think I can go through it all again!! He says that he will do it but I still keep threatening him with a vice and two bricks!! :lmao:

Well all is well in the Rich Household today! Shelby has gone off to Nannies for the day while DH and I are at work, she is mega clingy to me though, she disn't even want to give DH his morning kiss today which I think hurt his feelings but it's just cos she has been ill.

I have the hospital this afternoon for a check up on my UTI, which I know won't have gone as I had to stop taking my antiboitics while I was sick, then I have the midwife after that, so this afternoon is going to be taken up! DH won't be home until 8pm tonight either and had the gall to say "Make sure dinners done for 8!" as I left the house this morning!! WTH - like I want to be cooking at 8pm!! ha I don't think so! :teeth: I think I will do jacket potatoes and chilli for him then that can just be warmed up.

woo that was a long post!!

Lucas had a sniffly, runny nose all day yesterday. I hope it's just allergies and not the start of a cold. We have ONE WEEK LEFT!! :dumbo: :goofy: :mickeyjum :donald:

DisKim - :grouphug: Still praying for your aunt. FWIW, I agree with you about telling the daughter. I hope she has a successful surgery.

glt - I hope you're feeling better. I've had some pretty bad allergies this season...maybe it's that?

joats - I hope you manage to make it to WDW not pregnant. :teeth: The last time DH and I were there, I was 5 months pregnant and I'm really looking forward to the rides this time around. Let me tell you, Lucas is the EXACT same way as Jace is with food. Some days I wonder how he even has the energy he does since he eats hardly anything. And when he does eat, it's the same things over and over. We offer him our food, but 9 times out of 10 he'll refuse it so we'll offer one second choice and he usually eats that.

justhat - Glad you got the flies all cleaned up.

Alice28 - I've never been to Hawaii. My parents did all their exotic traveling once me and my sister were out of college and I bet that's what DH and I will end up doing. We're talking about California and DL with kids someday, but that's about it.

fabumouse - I hope you got that one good night of sleep! :lmao:

hillbeans - Glad Liam's party was a success!

nucpharm - Welcome back! Glad you had a good time this weekend.

Gem - We could make a trip to the store when we're in WDW, but we're onsite with no car until about a week into the trip. We're renting a car for one day to go to Tampa and will probably stop at Target on the way. Sorry Shelby is being to clingy. I hope she's feeling better!

Hi to all the other moms...BnB, ginamarie, tkyes, val (hope she's having a great trip), dizagain, llij, zalansky, Tasha, floridafam, J&D, ryan840...Hope you all had a great weekend!

Good morning everyone. I've been so busy that I haven't even checked in, let alone had the time to post. We've started to do the work on the house, and I'm trying to pack and get things organized before we head out to my mom's house in about 2 weeks.
DH went this morning to close on the loan, so I hope the builder will order the materials today or tomorrow. We've also had the electrician in to do work and our kitchen is now rewired and will finally have 3-prong outlets.
Our dishwasher exploded on Saturday morning and we had water all over our kitchen floor and running down our basement walls. I'm still trying to get the basement back together. My grandmother's china got a little wet, so I'm going to repack some boxes and move all the plastic storage bins. If they get wet, I'm not so worried about the stuff inside getting damaged.

DH is going away for work until Thursday. We're going to try to have dinner after my US this afternoon. He won't be home until Thursday. It's going to be lots of fun trying to get some more stuff packed away while watching Jimmy.

I hope you are all doing well. I promise to let you all know the results of the US when I get home tonight. I am very excited to find out if I'll be shopping for pink clothes or using all of the blue stuff I already have.

Hope you're all having a great Monday!

lissawynn - We can't wait to hear your news!! Sorry to hear about the dishwasher, what a mess! That's great that they are getting started on the house!

sl - I hope Lucas doesn't end up with a cold. I can't believe you only have a week left! How exciting!! As far as Lucas eating in WDW, I'm sure most restaurants will be more than happy to give you a bowl of shredded cheese or a slice of cheese. Maybe he'll surpise you and try a bunch of new stuff on vacation! lol!

diskim - Prayers for your Aunt. I'm so sorry you and your family are going through this.

jill - Oh My! That sounds like quite the sleepover! That's too bad that three girls ruined it for everyone else. I hope you catch up on your sleep.

Robin - Congrats on officially selling the car! That's awesome! Your trip to Hawaii sounds great!

gem - That's too funny that you forgot part of your exchange. That's very sweet of you to send the rest! Glad to hear you and Shelby are feeling better. I can't imagine watching a baby go through food poisoning!

glt - Your day outside sounds great! LOL about calling it a bubbler, you are from Wisconsin now! LOL!

nucpharm - Sounds like you had a fun weekend! I bet it felt great to get away and recharge!

joats - Tyler isn't a very picky eater, but some days he definitely eats better than others. He gets a wide variety of stuff on his tray so he can pick and chose what he wants. I do put veggies on his tray first because if he sees the main course first, I usually have no prayer of getting him to eat the veggies.

hillary - Sounds like you guys had a fun party! We had a party like that once where people stayed really late. I actually ran out of food and we ordered pizza!

kim - Boy your husband is pushing his luck isn't he? ;) I think I would tell him that when (and if) you're ready for another one, you'll let him know. :)

justthat - EWWW on the flies! I'm glad they are all gone!

floridafam - I hope you hear from the septic guys soon! Congrats on your trip, it sounds amazing!

We had a nice quiet weekend. The wedding we went to was pretty fun. I wish we could have danced, but they didn't start the dance until 8 and after the bride/groom, father/daughter, etc. the broke right into the dollar dance. Do you all have dollar dances? I don't mind them, if I don't want to participate then I won't. I was just bummed that they did it first. We ended up heading home so Tyler could get to bed.

I bit the bullet and bought Tyler's winter coat. Gosh winter stuff is expensive!

Yesterday we stayed home and made homemade split pea soup, yum! It was so good.

hi to ginamarie, bnb, fabumouse, tasha, zalansky, and everyone else I'm forgetting!

tamie

Hi moms, I haven't had time to read any posts since my last one because I've been so busy. I don't know when I'll have time to catch up, but I'm headed to the library in a little while and I need some recommendations. I need a really good parentbook for pre-schoolers. I'm totally lost when it comes to daling with Alex nowadays, it seems like all the stuff you read in magazines or see on TV doesn't work with him. He could care less about time outs or taking toys away, and we always praise him for good behavior but it doesn't seem to help much. I need a reward system but I don't have any good ideas on how to get it going, like what the reward should be (we're pretty tight on money these days which probably sounds funny since we just bought all that furniture, but that is interest free until 2008 and we will pay for it with our 2007 tax refund) and how often he should get one, that sort of thing. Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated! Oh, another big problem we need help with- the boy won't eat anything. I know it's mostly a power struggle so we try to give him as many choices as we can, and he still won't eat, even his favorte foods. He is having a lot of trouble going to the bathroom because he gets virtually no fiber, and whenever I try to sneak something into his food he figures it out. He even picked every single blueberry out of his pancakes the other morning- and he likes blueberry stuff! HELP!

nucpharm- Glad you had a good time at the lodge. It sounds really nice.

Lissawynn- Good luck with the house remodeling!

Tykes- What is the dollar dance? There were some people talking about it on another thread and I was too embarassed to ask them what it was since everyone else seemed to know.

ryan- sorry you're having a tough time with Alex.

Hey, does anyone else have problems with their baby being clingy. Olivia is almost 6 months now and she's getting worse and worse. As long as she sees me, she seems ok, but if I leave the room to start the dishwasher or carry things around the house she screams like I'm never coming back. She does better when there are other people around, but most of the time it's just the two of us and there's a lot of screaming and crying going on lately.

Going to DBro's house inspection in a little bit and then we're headed to the office.

Oh, almost forgot.. DH posted our pictures, finally. So I have a couple of Olivia from the Christening and whatnot:

2 quick reality tv questions -

can you all fill me in on the "i love you" thing on survivor? DH wanted to watch The Office, so I missed that part on survivor.

also - who was kicked off AR? I had to catch the beginning of Desperate Housewives, so I missed the end of AR.

thanks!

Tamie

ginamarie - Great pictures! Olivia is so darn cute!!

ryan - good luck with the eating! I wish I had so good advice for you.

the dollar dance - it's when the ladies stand in line to dance with the groom and the guys dance with the bride and you pay them a dollar (or more if you want) to dance. it's just another way to give the bride and groom more money ;) but like i said, you aren't obligated to do it.

some people think it's super tacky (which i understand) i'm so used to it though that it doesn't even phase me.

I gotta be quick as in 10 minutes we have to go to J's dentist appt:

Gina- GREAT pics! Olivia is darling! You and your DH make a handsome couple!

Tamie- the cheerleaders got the boot on AR. Single moms next to last. Sarah and Peter won the leg. The I love you thing was SO LAME. At the challenge, when the hispanic team lost, the caucasian team girls say to them (looking at Billy), "Oh we're sorry- we love you (guys)." Billy gets this WEIRD look on his face and says, "I love you too!" And then at tribal, he says to Jeff that he feels like he already won the game because he found the love of his life- Candace from the caucasian tribe! Jeff's jaw practically hits the ground and his eyes bug out of his head- he literally looked like a cartoon character! :rotfl2:

Alisa- patiently awaiting for this evening to hear your results!

TTYL!

I just wanted to say hi. I don't have much time to post.

lissawynn - I'm so excited to hear what you are having! Good luck with the home renovations. It sounds like a lot of work but I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run.

GM - Great pictures :thumbsup2 . Olivia is just adorable!

SL - You must be so excited for your upcoming trip. I went in October once and the weather was just perfect. Are you going to MNSSHP?

I'm so glad the single moms are still on AR. I felt bad when the cheerleaders were crying but I'm sure the moms need the money more.

I'm in a foul mood today. That seems to be my mood every Monday. I had a hard time getting out the door this morning (gee - I wonder why it's hard to get out with a 1 year old at 6:30 am). Aidan was clingy and screaming when I left today. That just seems to bother me for the rest of the day. I wonder what he is thinking when I have to leave him like that. Anyway, I hope everyone else is well. I better do some work now!

Just a quick note.

I forgot to put my return address on my exchange package. Now, I can't fine the delivery confirmation sheet. My buddy should get the package today.

I think I'm losing my mind.

ginamarie,

Olivia is so cute!!! What a doll. You look fantastic! :thumbsup2

DisKim,

I hope your day improves. :grouphug:

lissawynn,

It's great to hear from you. Good luck today. Keep us posted.

Just wanted to play a little mid-day catch up so it won't be so difficult later on. :thumbsup2

lissawynn - Good luck today! I can't wait to find out the results of your ultrasound!

tkyes - Glad you had a good time at the wedding. I've heard of a dollar dance, but I've never been to a wedding where it was done.

ginamarie - Olivia is adorable! Your sisters look just like you...you all look great. :sunny:

Alice28 - Good luck to Josh at the dentist today.

DisKim - We're going to MNSSHP on Oct 6th. Lucas will wear his Mickey Mouse costume and DH and I will wear Halloween t-shirts. That's the best I can do since suitcase space is at a premium.

floridafam - Any news about your septic problem yet? I'm going to the post office after work to send out my package. I'll send you a PM tonight when it's officially done.

Have a great afternoon!
