I am in Christmas hell. I just hate taking down all the decorations. I want to throw it all out! We're not doing the outside today since it's raining. On top of it all, my vacuum broke! I think I'm going to get a Dyson. I'm doing really well with my resolution to cut spending, aren't I  ? I'm just sick of every vacuum I buy breaking and I would like the Dyson Animal with the dog and cat. It is supposed to get rid of the dander.

Jill - I'm so sorry about the suicide. That is so awful. The holidays are such a depressing time for so many people. I can't imagine how his ex-girlfriend must feel.

joats - Jace looks like such a big boy with his new haircut.

Robin - I'm sorry to hear about your migraine.

Oops! I hear a baby up from his nap! Hi to all the other mommies. I hope everyone is having a nice New Year's Day!

Hi everyone,
Jill,
So sorry to hear of your mom's friend's son :( . I am sending prayers for the family.

Robin,
That stinks about the WL pool being closed during your trip. Maybe something nice will come through with the overflow rates though. I really should get started planning our trip for Sept./Oct. since now I can say we are going this year  . What are the dining changes you were talking about? I hate how Disney has to muck things up with change just when I get used to something :sad2: . Our neighbors were pretty crazy with the fireworks around here last night too. Then all the dogs in a five mile radius were howling  .

Loretta,
I'm glad you had a nice evening out. And that picture you posted of you with your sisters was great :thumbsup2 .

Tasha,
Thanks for sending me the happy new year's smilie :) . I was cracking up at the pics you posted with Kylie and the cousins. It's such a battle to get eveyone looking the right way isn't it :lmao: ?

Tamie,
Sorry you didn't make it to the ice house but it sounds like you still had a nice evening. I wish we were putting away our decorations today but we need to get some totes first so it will be a few days. I'm really sick of looking at the stuff now. I haven't done the waxing but I have used the nair bikini cream and while it does smell horrible, it does a nice job. Pain free as well.

GM,
I can't wait to get a few seconds to jump into your trip report. I love the nice long reports. Are you still playing Wasabi?

Joats,
Jace looks so handsome with his new haircut  . I remember wanting to cry the first time we had my ds's cut. He turned into a little boy instantly.

Diskim,
The boardwalk sounds like it was such fun :) . I hope Aidan is feeling better now. I'm sorry you are so sad about returning to work. Honestly, I'm looking forward to being able to go in tomorrow. I miss it. I know that I'm very lucky to only work part-time though and that the kids are with dh when they aren't with me. I really think that makes it a lot easier for me.

FF,
Yay on meeting the ebay reserve! I hope your dh loves the new bike (and I'm sure he will :) ).

NYprincess,
So sorry to hear your dh is still sick. I am sending prayers that all is figured out soon for him :grouphug: .

GLT,
Happy New Year! I wish you only wonderful things during this upcoming year :flower3: . I just loved seeing the beautiful smiles of your kids and their momma too :) . Take care and stay strong.

Hillbeans,
Sorry your plans got canceled at the last minute. I hope you guys still had a fun New Year.

Gems,
So nice to "see" you :) ! You are almost to the finish line and you will be holding Flumpy before you know it :goodvibes .

Bellacam,
What beautiful photos! Thanks so much sharing them. I'm soo happy to hear the Bailey is recovering well. You have a gorgeous family :) .

Hi to Bnb, Diz, J&D, Justthat, SL, Phd, and everyone else  ! I wish all of you a very Happy 2007 :wizard: !

Thanks to all who asked. I think I am finally feeling better (knock on wood). I'm still not 100% but I will be going to work tomorrow. We had a very low key new year's here. There was no drinking as the last thing I wanted to deal with was a hang over after feeling crappy for two weeks :rolleyes1 . We just watched the new Pirates movie and had an apple cider toast to the New Year with ds. Maybe tonight we will pull out the Disney Scene it game I got for Christmas.

I still haven't checked my camera for pictures of Christmas yet. I had to re-load the easy share software onto this new computer and it's a new updated version that I hate. The other one was so simple. So I think I have been subconsciously(sp) avoiding dealing with it.

I'm starting to get hungry so maybe it's time to start thinking about making dinner. TTYL.

I've heard from Icebrat yesterday and she wanted you all to know that she is doing ok!

Marilynn

Hey all! Just wanted to post quick to let ya'll know that we made it home in one piece! Now for the unpacking and undecorating! My parents stopped by right after we got home and were in awe of how much the kids got for xmas this year (I'll postpics later tonight)--and we still haven't had xmas with them yet! Well, hope everyone's New Year's is going great--ours is except my beloved Arkansas lost to Wisconsin today (can't get away from that state, can I?) Will check in more later!

Just a heads up to Z and FF- I won't even be at the WL when you ladies were talking of coming- my family and I will be at SOG the 24-28th. The WL pool, according to the letter, WILL BE up and running by the last week of March, so I think you ladies would be safe as far as the pool goes. But since our time is March 19-24, we may not have the WL pool available. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will at least be open the 23 & 24th when we are there. I hope Z, that you still are able to come.

Anyway, I'm just checking in really quick from my parents....I'll catch up more later.

FYI,

If you spend $99 on diapers at amazon.com and use code HUGGIE30 they will give you $30 off.

Of course, they don't have the big boxes of Kona's size 6 but they have the smaller packs.

I figured out that I spend 38 cents a diaper at Publix and this would work out to 32 cents per diaper.

Your savings may be better if you use a different kind. We use the supreme (only the best for Kona you know.):rotfl2:

We got all of our Christmas stuff put away. And we even got our coat closet organized! :thumbsup2

jill- I'm so sorry about your mom's friends son - how awful. Some people do have such a hard time with the holidays. I can't even imagine what the family is going through.

robin - sorry you got a mirgraine! I haven't had a sex on the beach in forever! That does sound yummy. Sorry the star wars toys aren't going for you.

val - I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. Can I ask how long the Nair creme worked for you? I mean how many days would you be swimsuit ready?

nucpharm - glad you made it home in one piece! Hope the unpacking goes well.

cabmom - Thanks for posting about icebrat for us!

zalansky - your night sounds like a lot of fun! I get an awful headache from too much red wine. I agree on the health benefits though, a little less guilt. I completely forgot to wish Connor a Happy Birthday!! His party looked like a lot of fun, I love the cake picture. :)

joats - oh Jace looks so cute! He does look like such a big boy now. I'm glad he sat so nicely for you!

diskim - I hope you are able to get out of your Christmas chaos! I forgot to say how fun the Boardwalk sounds!!

gm - sorry you have the sickies in your house!

diz - sounds like you got some good game time in with the kids.

nyprincess - i really hope they can figure out what's wrong with your husband.

poohangel - adorable pictures! :)

We did get some Mexico shopping done the other day. I got a coverup and a big beach bag. I just placed an order for shorts and tank tops on oldnavy.com since shorts are so hard to find right now.

DH took Tyler over to his mom's house to chuck her tree outside for her. I found Nanny McPhee on tv so I'm comfy on the couch watching that. Cute kid in that movie.

I hope everyone has a good night.

tamie

HI Ladies,

Happy New Year!

Cabmom - Thanks for the update about Icebrat - I was worried about her and figured she was just laying low. Icebrat if you're reading, I hope you're doing well.

Jill - I'm really sorry to hear about your Mom's friend's son. Suicide is such an awful thing. I can't imagine feeling that helpless with a situation where i'd want to end my own life. How heartbreaking at this time of year as well.

Tamie - Sounds like you had a nice night. It's probably for the best you didn't drive anywhere last night if it was icy.

Loretta - Glad you had a nice evening out last night. I hope this afternoon goes alright at your Dad's house. :grouphug:

Diskim - was that at Jenkinson's? That sounds like a lot of fun. We live too far away from the shore to go at night, but our friends live in Manalapan who had to cancel at the last minute so I guess that isn't too much further. We'll keep that in mind for next year if we get stuck at the last minute. I'm already getting excited about Summer 2007 in NJ.

Vald - Glad you're feeling better and toasted in the new year with a nice glass of cider - YUM!

Nucpharm - welcome home. I agree about the christmas decorations. There isn't much worse than taking down the holiday stuff and packing it away for next year. We took out our tree yesterday and since I didn't water it for a few days there were tons of pine needles everywhere. My MIL got us a "Roomba" vaccuum for Christmas so that helped get the last pesky ones out of the carpet. Just like Diskim, we break every vaccuum we get so we hope this one works for a long time!

Ginamarie - sorry to hear you started off the New Year sick! Hope that you're feeling better.

Joats - I just love Jace's hair cut - he's such a doll. It's amazing how one day you look at your child and they're not a baby anymore. :sad1:. Just try and think of all the fun things you've got ahead of you though! Jace is at such a great age.

Gems - Sorry to hear that you don't feel good. Those last 4 weeks of pregnancy are killer, especially when you have another little one at home. I hope you get some help from your friends and family and take care of yourself and stay off your feet.

Lissawynn - Yes, my ankles (I called them Cankles because my calves were the same size as my ankle at the end of the day) got very swollen near the end of my pregnancy. The only thing that helped was staying off my feet and drinking a lot of water. Hope you're doing alright and you had a nice NYE!

Gottalovethem - Glad to hear you're doing well and thanks again for the card. I apologize that i've not sent your card yet but it's on the way. Hope the kids are feeling better today.

NY Princess - Take care of yourself!!

Poohangel - Faith is adorable!!! What a cute picture! Welcome to the Mom's board!!! :cloud9:

Alice - Sorry to hear about the migraine. Hope that you and the family have a great 2007! Sounds like you had a nice night last night with your neighbors.

Floridafam - Thanks for that code. If you have a CVS by you they also have Pampers cruisers for $8.99 and you can also use a mfg coupon. They also have Pantene on sale for $1.99 and I used a $1.50 coupon from the sunday paper so my conditioner cost $49 cents!

FLoridafam - My sister in law went to college (Rutgers) with Laurie Berkner. They were in the same "grade". We're all fans of her also. I bet she does a great live show.

Hi to all the other mommies also!

Today I finally listed a bunch of things on Ebay and put away more christmas decorations. We had a terrible rainstorm last night so I can't take down the outside things yet. Liam took a great nap today (2.5 hours) so I got a lot of things done. I love when they get to the age where they take one super nap!

I'm dreading going back to work tomorrow - UGH. Well, i've got to run, talk with you all tomorrow or Wednesday!

Just another quick post from me--but I'm so excited we just booked flights for our trip in April--no driving!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: And that means our trip is going to be extended 2 more days--now I get to plan one more ADR!!! I'm thinking Ohana's or Boma--but DH gets to choose this one!

hillbeans--good luck with the items on Ebay. Sorry to hear about the rain--we drove through it yesterday--it was awful!

tamie--congrats on getting all your stuff put away! Did you ever decide about the wax???;)

alice--I hope your DH can understand your feelings about him going back to Iraq. Hope you're not too stressed out!

glt--so glad you had a nice xmas! I'm going to send you a pm about something a little later!

Well, DH was just reviewing my post--guess he wants to make sure I''m accurate!:rotfl2: So glad to get back ya'l!:yay:

Hillary- good luck with your ebay items! :wizard:

Hillary, Joats, Kim, and others- here's a hug  of support for facing work tomorrow. I know that's a bummer. I hope it's a smooth transition back into that.

Tamie- glad you found some summertime clothes online. :thumbsup2

FF- thanks for the diaper code. I might do it on payday later this week. DH isn't thrilled with the Target brand diapers- cause you know, the TONS of times he changes Molly's diapers, he accidentally pulls too hard and rips the tabs off. He said to me, "You always buy the brand diapers- what's up with this?" I said, $4 cheaper per bag, that's what's up!

Val- about the dining plan. To be honest, I was planning on 'fudging' the plan this trip. I saw how it worked the last two trips, and that child and adult credits were not separated. From what I am reading on the budget board, Disney is fixing their computers so people can't do this anymore, which is fine. It's obviously their plan- they can do what they want and I can't complain about not being able to cheat anyway! (And I'm SO NOT a cheater- but when they make the loopholes so huge and when we took the kids a year ago, CMs all but encouraged me to order off the adult menus at Counter Service for Sam when he didn't like the kid offerings). I was going to do this:

20 credits for the family to start with (5 nights x 4 people)
Whispering Canyon- 4 credits used
Nine Dragons- 4 credits used
Narcoossee's (just Dh and I)- 4 credits used as it's a 2 credit restaurant
Crystal Palace- 4 credits used
This leaves 4 credits leftover; I was going to use them for California Grill for DH and I, but from what I am reading, these will now be clarified that these are CHILD credits leftover, not just 'credits' like it has been before.

So if they are enforcing this, we will obviously pay OOP for CA Grill (as it's cheaper than Narcoossee's), but then the kids have 2 table service credits each that they aren't using! So, if that's the case, one night I am taking the kids to MGM (just the boys- Molly is staying behind with DH) and I figure we can go to Sci Fi or 50's Prime Time, they can get their food, and I will just order something small for myself. The other two table credits I may ask guest services if I can change to a counter service.

But again, I don't know for sure if they are implementing this or what. The gal on the restaurant boards didn't totally know for sure (she's a CM). What will be enforced for sure is counter service- since our ticket will say 2 Adult, 2 Children, I cannot go up and try to order 3 adult cheeseburgers and 1 child's meal. I will have to order 2 kid's meals, 2 adult meals. Which is totally fine. I will just pay OOP for Sam's hamburger should he want one, and Molly can have his kid's meal. Joshie isn't as picky as Sam, so he almost always likes the offerings on the kid's menus. It's just amusing to me because twice when I took the boys, Sam didn't like the kid's choice, so the CM heard me say, "OK, I'll just pay for a chicken sandwich for you" and the CM said, "Oh, he can have the chicken sandwich, it's totally fine." I never felt like I was trying to pull a fast one, you know?

Happy New Year!!!!

I tried replying early this morning but for some reason my post would not go through so now here I am at almost 7pm with a bunch of new posts to respond to!

Jill - I'm so sorry for your mom's friend. :grouphug: I can't imagine what she's going through. Lots of prayers will be going out to her in this rough time.

Vald - Sorry you're still not back to normal. You really got quite the bug! And I'm so jealous of your Disney Scene It. I told my husband I want that game but I'll think I'll have to wait for my birthday, which is now just 5 months from today!

Cabmom - Thanks for the update on Icebrat. I've been really worried about her and her family since all the drama on this thread scared her away and I couldn't PM her.

Gems - I cannot believe that you're only 2.5 weeks away from meeting your baby boy!! You must be so ready for the pregnancy to be over, as I know chasing a toddler while that pregnant was not fun. I hope you get through the rest of it without any more sickness or leg trouble. :grouphug: Oh, and my mom was in London this past week and loved it and said we should make a trip out there when the kids are older. So maybe we'll get to see you one day!

NYprincess - Sorry to hear your husband is still sick. I hope things turn around for him soon, especially with you being pregnant and having a 1yo to take care of.

Joats - Jace looks so cute in his haircut photos. I got a little sad at Madison's 1st haircut too cause she didn't look like a baby anymore either. And tonight I trimmed her bangs and that really made me sad cause I did such a bad job!:lmao:

Tamie - Sorry the rain ruined your plans, but great that you still had a nice night anyway.

Alice28 - The migraine was not a fun way to start off your new year. Hope you're feeling better now though! And btw, peach schnapps is my all time favorite drink so better come to the 2008 meet so I have a drinking buddy! Ha, I'm sure after what is already 3.5 years of no alcohol due to pregnancy/nursing 1 drink will be more than enough for me!:lmao:

Floridafam - Congrats on your ebay item!! We just sold an ipod nano we got free and I know the extra cash will come in handy right after Christmas. Of course, the reason we got it free was cause we spent $2000 on my husband's new credit and it was a promo they had, so the $140 we sold it for won't really make a dent in what we 'spent' for it.

Ginamarie - I read and loved your trip report so far! That picture of your siblings as junior chefs is so cute! And I had to laugh about your comment about no 2007 baby from you. I had told someone last year that after 1 surprise baby I would not let that happen again and then just a couple of weeks later guess who was pregnant with surprise #2!?!:rolleyes1

GLT - Sorry about the rough night last night!:grouphug: I hope everyone in your family is feeling better today.

Kim - Sorry about having to return to work and Aidan being sick. I hope it's a quick bug and he's feeling better by tomorrow cause I'm sure leaving him is hard enough without being sick. Oh, and Madison has never really been an easy kid so to speak. She's honestly not bad in terms of listening, following directions, etc., but she's way emotional. The slightest thing can make her cry, like me cutting her bangs today for example. Just all worked up that she didn't want her hair cut, but in an "I feel badly for my hair" kinda way if you can imagine that. I'm hoping Henry has a bit lighter personality.

Zalansky - Yeah for your kid-free night!! I'm eagerly awaiting our DCL trip in February for our first kid free night in forever--last time was when we went on one of Joey's interviews last January, and I was very morning sick at the time so not much fun.

Diz - I'm laughing at Carson waking up for the New Year cause Henry had me up then too. He went to bed his usual 6:30, but then woke up around 11:45. I decided to put him in his crib last night (he had been sleeping in his cosleeper at night still) so I ended up standing next to it for about an hour getting him back to sleep without nursing him. He finally fell asleep, woke up again 2 hours later but went back to sleep after I Nuk-ed him till 6:30.

My mom just called from her cell phone on the plane. What a flight hazard. :sad2: She got cut off but said something about 2 of her friends missing the flight and getting stuck in London. Can't wait to hear more about that. I have to get Madison in bed now cause school starts again tomorrow () so Hi :wave2: to all the other moms!

Oh, and our New Year's was pretty lame-we went to Target for the diapers as planned, which was good cause they were on sale too, so I got them for $6 a pack with my coupons and the sale! Then we ate at Champps where I got a free dessert cause it took them about 30 minutes to prepare it (a cookie sundae, but they ran out of cookies and had to bake more), then home where we stayed up till around 10ish and then went to bed. Tonight will be an early night for me too since everyone was up way too early today.

Jill- I’m so sorry about your family friend. That’s so sad.

Alice- Oh no.. so many of us have been sick for New Years!

Joats- Awwww, I’m always so sad when little guys get haircuts. It’s like they grow up in one instant.

Val- I’m still playing WPASADI. The next project is due tomorrow night, and then we’ll see if we make it into Round 4. With four teams getting eliminated each round though, the chances get higher and higher that you might get the boot!

Hillbeans- I don’t want to go back to work either!

nucparm- congrats on booking your airfare!

DH was great today. He organized our Tupperware cabinet, put away the dishes, threw out the garbage, and put out my new Muppets canisters. The kitchen looks so good. Of course now he feels sick :(

OK, I’m going to work on my trip report some more. Tomorrow Livvie and I have to drag ourselves to work.

Hillbeans, I was reading your part about Laurie out loud to DH and guess who heard me and had to put the DVD in. So now they are dinosaurs marching, 3 min before bed time. I love how her curls bounce (both Laurie and Lily. :) )

Just packing and getting ready. Wow, we sure bring a lot of stuff.

Cabmom, nice to hear about Icebrat, thank you.

Jill, so sorry to hear about your mom's friends son. So sad.

FF, did your son like the movie?

Nucpharm, welcome home. Glad you had a safe trip.

Ginamarie, looking forward to the trip report.

We had a nice relaxing night with friends. We ended up watching the movie Prairie home companion again (with Garrison Kiler.) It is pretty cute if you enjoy the radio program. It had this whole attempt at a plot, I just didn't need it. The acting was great.

Off to pack (and put these kido's to bed.) I am pretty excited about the trip, as many times as we have been before, it is always so great. You guys understand.

Robin - we got a letter from DVC about a week or two ago, letting us know that the pool would be closed for refurbishment while we were there, but to remind us pool hopping is allowed at which resorts....etc. So maybe the pool will be re-opened, one can hope, right? I have not yet cancelled the plans....and still hope we go.

My sister and BIL just came to see us and left and they have decided to stay in Florida at least one or two more weeks! :dance3: I am thrilled. This sister had quit her job to come help my Dad but then felt like she needed a break. So her DH drove down for Xmas for 2 weeks and they were scheduled to leave tomorrow. He can work from home quite a bit and she was freaking about leaving so they are staying for now. What a relief.

FF - I am going to check out the diaper deal right now. :thumbsup2

See you all in a bit!

Ok, Holly, I just went and looked at that deal and its a good one, I think - for me. We use regular Huggies...DH is arguing with me that if I buy 4 boxes of diapers (at 144 diapers per box) that Cameryn will grow out of them because she is still in size 3's. So I am trying to figure out if I should get all size 3's....do you know how long the deal is good for?

Robin and Loretta,

I will e-mail you gals. I've got to go over the dates for March. So, Robin, are you staying put at WL?

I really hope we can all meet up. Dh and I were just going over his on call schedule for the entire year and going over all the days he needs to take off, etc. so I feel that I know a little better about where we stand.

Loretta,

I also think the diaper deal is a good one. Can you 2 boxes of sizee 3 and 2 boxes of size 4? Kona went from a 3 to a 4 pretty quick. If in doubt, I would go with the size bigger.

I also think it is a good deal (especially for the regular diapers.)

Be back in a bit.

Zalansky- Olivia is almost done with her second box of size 3s (140 diaper count boxes) and I know she'll need at least another 140 size 3s before she moves onto the next size.

Poo....Amazon is out of size 5s. Guess that is the answer I get on whether or not I should order.

FF - Thanks for the heads up on the diapers but I don't know how much longer Aidan will even fit into the size 6 so I guess I won't do it. He's going to need pull-ups soon.

zalansky - That's great news about your sister staying longer!

DisPhd - I certainly can understand your excitement. Have a great trip :goodvibes .

GM - Good luck with WPASADI

Well, the Christmas stuff is boxed. DH just has to finish putting it away. I sent him to Linen's and Things to buy a vacuum and they gave him one with the wand missing  . Of course since that vacuum went on sale today, they had to search through the back for one and only found one with a damaged box. Apparently, the piece must have gone missing. I have pine needles everywhere! Oh well, that should be my worst problem in life!

I just found out one of my best friend's FIL died. She tried to call me when I was on the boardwalk yesterday and I didn't answer her call because it was not a good time to talk. I was on line with the kids waiting to get a charicature done. Now, I feel so bad that I didn't answer. This was her DH's only living parent and she was also very close to him. She doesn't know how she is going to tell her 5-year-old son about it :guilty: . I feel so guilty for not answering the phone.

Well, I have to go figure out what I'm doing in my classes tomorrow and try to get to sleep at a normal hour. It's been nice being able to chat so much this week. I'm miss you gals! Have a great day tomorrow!!

Jill & Diskim - I'm so sorry for your losses. Both cases are so sad.

diskim - I know there is no way to make you not feel guilty, but there was just no way for you to know what the call was about. Your friend knows you are a great person and that you care. Hang in there. Good luck with school tomorrow. Glad you got Christmas stuff put away, sorry abou the pine needles!

Joats - love the pic of Jace!!

Gems - good to hear from you. I can't wait to meet Flumpy. Hang in there!

DS hasn't thrown up anymore, so maybe a temporary thing? Instead soon to be ex got in a car accident today, head on collission and called me to pick him up (we took him back to his house). He's really sore but didn't have to go to the hospital. The girl he hit did, but the cop thought that she would be okay, was just shaken up. Pretty frightening, but glad all's okay (maybe it'll soften him up a bit?:rolleyes1 ).

OK, can't catch up now, but HELLO FF, Justhat, GM, Disneyphd, lissawynn (how are you doing? I hope feeling well), Cabmom, Ryan840, Tamie, Icebrat, NY Princess, Hillbeans, Nucpharm, Zalansky, SL, Tasha, dizagain, fabumouse (hope all is well), J&D and everyone that I'm missing!! Have a great night.
