lissawynn- if you do go to Gymbo, and they have a swimsuit in 3T that's a cute one, could you grab it for Molly? Oh man oh man....or one of those flamingo tops in a 2T or 3T? Or any hair curlies/barrettes in the Fiesta del Sol line (this was the line with the reds, golds, oranges, and ladybug accents).

I could die....I wish my Gymbos would do that for me! The one where I know the ladies at is at the scary crazy mall. I have several outfits pieced together for Molly for WDW, but I was unable to find any accessories to go with.

Yes, it is ENTIRELY too easy to get carried away with Gymboree for little girls.

Robin,

What flamingo top are you looking for? The one that I had you pick up for me a few months ago? :rotfl:

Today has been CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be back later!

DH gave me a new avatar.

zalansky,

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it. Don't feel bad about posting anything. I mean, we don't mind. I have had a few of those moments in my family with my brother's ex. UGH!

I hope you're okay. How is your DH doing? Is he okay with all this or does it really get to him?

We just found out today that my MIL is coming next week. We are so excited. She called and said "I'm coming, can you find me a train ticket and book a room at the Disney resort?" Both are already done.

We've gotta get going to the Christmas parade. :wave2:

Hi guys,
Well, I survived our first Saturday working. It was actually kind of fun because we weren't very busy. Tomorrow I need to clean this pit of a house and that is it for weekend plans.

GLT,
I'll be thinking of you this weekend. What you plan to say to the kids sounds perfect. I'm sorry you are going through this :grouphug: . BTW, I had something shipped to you. Please let me know if you get it. It should have been there by now.

Robin,
Cute pic of Molly and Sam :) . Have fun decorating your tree. When we were at Disney in Sept. they didn't differentiate the TS credits between child and adult.

Fab,
Congrats to your dh on the promotion  !

Loretta,
Sorry your MIL is being a PITA. I hope your FIL is okay. And don't feel bad about airing the dirty laundry. My family would fit right in on Jerry too :rolleyes1 .

Hi to Justhat, BnB, Icebrat, GM, Hillbeans, Nucpharm, FF (did you get my "letter" yet?), Tamie, Alisa, SL, and everyone :wave2: .

I need to go and feed the kiddos. Dh is going out tonight to play poker so I'm sure I'll be back later to chat as I'll be bored with no good tv on Saturday ;) .

I don't even know what I'm wanting, LOL! I just think flamingos and Disney GO. I did get one lissawynn had in her Gymbo shopping spree pic- the one where I think it's just a pink top with the green ribbon as straps and there's flamingos the ribbon. I do like that top that you chose though. I now can't even remember what shorts I have to go with....Molly is sleeping, so I can't look thru my stash.

In the wise words of Kim, my house has now thrown up Christmas. And I'm at the point where I am fed up decorating, yet there is crap strewn all about. It looks bad. I just about killed the boys while decorating the tree- they get SO AMPED up and excited, and then 50 ornaments end up on the same branch, arguing over who gets to hang up certain ones, pawing through the box even though I say 28 times, "Stop it, those will break!" They are now in time out on their beds because they started to fight outside (after I sent them outside cause they were fighting inside).

DH should be home any minute and he is going to help me cart crap back down to the basement and deal with any more boy naughtiness.

I will upload a pic or two of my tree in a few minutes.

FF- yay for your MIL coming! Are you just going to Vero by you saying, "book a room at Disney"? Have fun at the parade! Funny new avatar!

Val- Thank you again for the pumpkin butter- I bought a loaf of pumpkin bread at the store the other day, and proceeded to eat it, with the spread in about, oh 3 days. :rolleyes1 I now want more bread....

Hey Ladies!

Well, we got our tree. We just gave Jace a bath and put him to bed. DH & I are going to set up the tree tonight. We can't wait to see Jace's face in the morning when he sees the tree all lit up. We had a quick visit to the tree farm as it was COLD!! We did go to the mall before hand and finished up some items. Of course, I had to buy Jace a Mickey Mouse from the Disney Store. I made DH take him out of the store so he wouldn't see it. He'd never part with it if he did.

Robin: Our house has just thrown up bins upon bins of Christmas junk. It's gonna be a wreck around here tonight and tomorrow too. Can't wait to see a picture of your tree! Yup, CVS is just like a Walgreens - a drug store.

Hey Val: Glad you survived your first Saturday of work. Hope you have a relaxing evening.

FF: How was the Christmas Parade? What is it all about? Nice avatar!! I just bought DH a talking Stewie pen at CVS.

Lissawyn: I'd be in trouble if I ever had a girl. I'm really bad with buying tons of clothes for Jace. I have so much in 12/18 I don't know how he will wear it all before he grows out of it. I'd be broke if I had a girl!!!! When is your actual due date?

Z: Please don't fret about talking about family stuff. We all have some drama or skeletons in the family closet. No worries!! It just sucks that you, DH and FIL have to deal with her. Hope your FIL is doing ok.

Gems: Congrats on the offer acceptance!! You must be so psyched about only a bit more work to go. :woohoo:

Hi Justhat, SL, Ryan, Tamie, Tasha, GLT, Jill, Gretchen, HillBeans, GM, Fabumouse, DisKim, etc, etc.

Off to deco the TREE!!! I am so excited. Time to bring out the corny Christmas soundtracks that drive DH nuts!!

TTFN!

Since I didn't do a pic of Josh the other day, here is Wonder Decorator Boy

christmas06001.jpg

Here is my favorite ornament, of course the flash didn't help things....

christmas06004.jpg

Our little tree- it's operation overload on the ornaments, as we usually get a tree that is 1-2 feet taller- had to squeeze them all in there, and there is still probably 20 in the box.

Robin,

Did you hear about that family from San Fransisco that is missing after a Thanksgiving trip to Portland? How weird.
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/12/01/BAGJ6MNGK81.DTL

Love the pictures!!!! That ornament is beautiful.

Yes, MIL will be staying at Vero. We are working on the bathrooms here and she will be nice and comfortable here. I'd love to have her here as she's a total sweetheart.

Of course, all of our plans have just changed. We won't be going to Lakeland and Sand Key on my Birthday weekend but I don't care. We'll have fun here. I just have to figure out how to get DH to the bike store. I'm debating if I should just tell him.

I love that entire Flamingo line from Gymbo. It is one of my all time favorites. It's so "Florida"

val,

I don't think I have received your letter yet. :)

GEM,

What exciting news on the shop. I can't believe it is time for your maternity leave already. :cheer2:

Alice-love the tree! And super decorating boy!!! I hope the boys started behaving for you!

lissawyn--how nice that the Gymbo lady would pull stuff for you!

joats--please post a pic of your tree when finished!

z--don't really know what to say about the recent family drama! Guess it's a little comforting to know that they aren't blood relatives!

ff--love the new avatar!

gems--congrats on getting the place for your business! Hopefully the legal stuff will go smoothly! How exciting being so close to your maternity leave!

dizagain--Tunica, now? Well, sure why not! Just let me know and I'm there! :goodvibes

Well, our party went well. DH wanted to know if I preferred the party at CEC, or would it have been nicer at home. I really liked not having to worry about anything but my kids and paying the bill. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, except one of emma's friends who was terrified of the characters (note to that mom: Don't do disney quite yet!) Now, we're back home, the kids are in bed, and DH is at work-so here I am about to really BORE you with my photos! So here goes! These are from last night and the race this morning

Alice--meant to post this earlier since you said you were in need of more pumpkin bread--this is yummy and really easy!

INGREDIENTS:
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups white sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
1/2 cup water

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and pumpkin pie spice. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat together sugar, oil, eggs, and pumpkin. Stir in flour mixture alternately with water. Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. For best flavor, store wrapped in plastic wrap at room temperature for a full day before serving.

Nucpharm,
Looks like a great party! Thanks for sharing the photos :) .

FF,
I'm going to send you a pm.

Robin,
Great photos of your tree! I am looking forward to putting ours up but I have no idea when we will be doing it.

Joats,
Hope you are having fun decorating. Jace will be thrilled when he wakes up :). I torture my dh with the Christmas cds while decorating too ;) .

I am so bored right now. I'm trying to wait up for dh to get home from poker but I'm fading fast. I hope he gets in soon.

I have a shopping dilemma and thought maybe some of you ladies could help. My mom wants a collared sweatshirt for Christmas and I have no idea where to find one. I tried Target, JC Penney, Sears, and Macy's and even Googled "collared sweatshirt" and got nothing. Does anyone know where I can buy one? I still have to try Walmart and Kmart but I'm not even sure if they make them anymore. It doesn't have to be a holiday sweatshirt. FYI: the collar is like you're wearing a polo shirt under the sweatshirt, but it's just the collar attached. If that makes any sense.

alice28 - Your tree looks great and your Super Decorator looks like he's having a lot of fun.

nucpharm - I love your pictures. I'm glad Emma's party was a success.

val - Glad you survived your first Saturday at work.

zalansky - Wow...I hope your FIL gets the help he needs. It's kind of scary how quickly these things escalate out of control.

joats - Have fun decorating the tree! We did very minimal decorations this year. Besides the outside lights, the tree and mantle was all I did.

lissawynn - DH's family is the same way about invitations. It's always a third-hand phone call the day before. Sorry, we have plans. They didn't throw the party together in 24 hours (I know this) so be a little more considerate with the invitation.

The bday party today was pretty fun. Lucas had a blast playing with all his friend's toys, even though he has half of them himself. Different setting, I guess. The bday boy got a TMX Elmo and was pretty indifferent towards it. Plus, one of my nephews was afraid of the thing. I offered to buy it off one of them, but no dice.

Wanted to pop on to say goodnight and GREAT pics of Emma's party, nucpharm I love your reindeer headband! Too cute.

And yes, I am very, very comforted that these freaks are not my blood relatives. ;) When i tell my friends about these antics they can't believe it. Honestly when I re-read my posts here I can't either.

The party we went to tonight was great! It was a great way to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season.

Oh, and I am going back and deleting what I posted earlier about my IL's. DH got mad that I posted it because anyone can search my name and read it.

Goodnight ladies! :bitelip:

Well, even though this a.m. was horrible and awkward, I am glad it's over and I really feel as if I have passed several hurdles. I have to thank you moms for all those prayers and well wishes and positive thoughts, as I truly believe that has help immensely -- so much so I can't even tell you.

We did tell the kids. There were some tears, most from ds. At 3 he really does get it. DD was very helpful to DS which was nice. Of course, Leif has no idea what's going on, so it hopefully won't affect him much.

I actually feel like I can go to bed tonight without stressing too much about who's gonna walk in the door. It's a nice feeling. Of course, once he's officially moved in to his new place I will feel even better.

Nucpharm - Emma and Mathew are so big! I can't believe how quickly they have grown! Love the pics you shared, those antlers are too cute! Love all of the b'day gifts too. Glad the balloons did arrive!

Val - hope you found a way to entertain yourself until dh got home

fabumouse - speaking of, did you celebrate the promotion tonight?

joats - way to go on the CVS coupon!! Glad Jace took such a great nap. Your parents had their arms around each other in bed? That would be confusing! We were sitting on opposite couches. And have already had conversation number two. I think with some time, because they are so young, they will adjust and be ok.

Gem - CONGRATS on your offer being accepted :cheer2: that's great. When do you hope to open by?

lissawynn - have fun gymbo shopping!

z - good luck with MIL and FIL. What a mess. They sure give you a run for your money. I hope FIL feels better soon.

Robin - Oh, I wish I never clicked on the gymbo link for outfits. I LOVE those, the tractors would be a huge hit and the flower wear for DD, too adorable!! And the firetruck pj's, oh the boys to have matching ones....too much! A gal can dream though!! That pic of Josh is too cute. Love the tree!

FF - :goodvibes cute avatar, I don't even know how to change that... That story is very strange. Maybe they decided to vacation somewhere remote at the last minute? I hope they are ok!

Val - hmmm, nothing arrived yet. But with the snowstorm yesterday some things could have gotten delayed. I'll keep you posted!! Thank you so much for keeping us in your thoughts, I truly believe it has helped. Thank you for caring!!

SL - thanks for the good wishes! Hope you had a nice day.

Wow, all of you with your Christmas decor already out and ready!! I haven't given it an ounce of thought -- of course there have been some distractions  Maybe next week I'll break out some decor.

OK, DS is asleep on the couch next to me so I've gotta get him to bed. Have a great night!

Just a quick post from me since I need to get to bed. My eyes are drooping!

Gems- Congrats on the store!

Alice- I love the tree. It’s filled with Disney spirit!

Nucpharm- Great pictures!

GLT- I’m glad you got all that stuff over with. One step at a time, you know?

DH and I stopped at Target and finished our Christmas shopping. DSis(8) is getting an adorable Cabbage Patch Kid, and DBIL(7) is getting a video game to go with the NintendoDS my MIL is getting him. DBro(3) is getting a bunch of “Disney Pixar Cars” stuff (books, bath toys and a mini mater that drives backwards). I’m tired though. Target was crowded even though it was 9:30 pm. I haven’t even thought about wrapping anything.

I’m working on my last motion tomorrow. It’s good because I won’t have any of them hanging over my head, but bad because I don’t know what work I’m going to find to pay my bills next year. At least I had some good luck with my clients this week.

Olivia didn’t nap all day. She fell asleep in the car and slept all the way through our shopping trip. OK, I seriously have to go to bed. Chat more tomorrow.

SL- my mom is queen of collared sweatshirt tops, and I know she bought 2-3 of them at Macy's this last month or so. Maybe we just have different buyers or something? Glad Lucas had fun at the party.

GLT- what a day you have had! I'm glad you feel some relief about the whole thing, and are ready to move on to the next stage. Hey, when those jammies go on super discount in January, I will try and remember to look for some for Laine and Leif, OK? Just remind me of their sizes then.

GM- glad you got some shopping done. I went to Target on Friday around 11ish and it was MOBBED. I couldn't believe it. I think it was a combination of being Friday and the 1st of Dec...I bet it was payday for a lot of people. Usually when I go to Target on weekday mornings, I have the place practically to myself. I guess holiday shopping season has officially begun!

Z- I've gone back and deleted things of the thread too- usually when I say something in anger about DH.

Nuc- super great pictures of Emma and her party! I think Chuck E Cheese does a really good job at their parties, even though it's loud and crazy. Except for being tired and pregnant, the party we had their for Sam was sooo easy- just sign the credit card statement and wala- done! No shopping, no cleaning, no cooking, no game playing. The kids were all entertained and taken care of. :thumbsup2 You & your sister look great! Thanks for the pumpkin bread recipe- I think I even have a can of pumpkin in the cupboard- I should try it tomorrow!

Gems- congratulations on the offer being accepted, and you being able to quit that office job! I remember the people being so ugly to you a few months back. It sounds like you have some exciting job prospects on the horizon with the store!

Hi Val! Did your DH come home at a decent hour?

I was just looking at the tree and LOLing at the bare bottom of it- I kept telling the kids to not put breakable ornaments down there where Molly could reach- well, it looks like hardly any got put down there! Oh well. It sure smells nice in my house today!

I am tired. The phone kept ringing in the middle of the night last night, as DH is on call. And somehow I kept being the one to answer the phone! I was ready to throttle him. today has been a very quiet and peaceful day. Tomorrow we just plan on going to Costco in the AM to get a few essentials, and then puttering around the rest of the day.

Good morning ladies -

Just a quick post this morning to say Hi to my DIS Mom friends!! :goodvibes - it's about 5:30 am and I've got to get out the door to drive the hour to my friends house to get my hair done for her wedding. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend and i'll try to catch up with everyone sometime on Tuesday.

Great Pictures Nucpharm!! Emma looks to be having quite a great time at her party!!!! princess:

Have a great day Everyone! :wizard:

Good morning all. I've been up since 4 a.m. and can't seem to calm myself down enough to go back to sleep. My mind keeps racing all over the place.

My newest dilema, which all things considered isn't too bad, is how to get dd to school on Monday. There's snow and ice on the ground so I'm guessing she won't be able to ride her bike (the boys and I would have to walk). I got a lead on a double stroller I can borrow and will need to call today to see if I can get it. If I use that DS can walk, DD can ride and on the way home DS can ride and DD can walk. That should be ok. And for me, I'll get lots of exercise and maybe continue to lose a few pounds!!

There is a car I got a lead on this past week but the dealer guy didn't call yesterday. I am hoping to hear today but have no idea if he is working. Otherwise maybe Monday? I am REALLY hoping the car will come through at the numbers we originally talked about because I think my dad will get it then, and then I'll have transportation!! That'd be great.

Hillbeans - glad you can check in. I hope the wedding went well!

Robin - Thanks for your support and friendship through my whole relationship fiasco, I truly appreciate it. I am sure there will be more to come, but hopefully the rest will be slightly easier to handle. :wizard:

FF - Thank you for your support! I am guessing those are the sweatshirts!

SL - I'm glad the party went well. Funny how toys are more appealing at other people's houses! Too bad about TMX elmo.

GM - glad you got Target stuff out of the way. Good luck doing work stuff today. I have fallen behind and really need to start focusing so I can get caught up. Hope some big projects come your way soon! :wizard:

zalansky - thinking of you!

Val - did you stay awake til dh got home?

icebrat, fabumouse, dizagain, lissawyn, J&D, cabmom, ryan, disneyphd & all the mom's I'm missing HI. HOpe you have a great Sunday.

The kids have Sunday school this a.m., then we'll see if Leif will sit through church. I thought maybe after lunch I'd wrap everyone in snow suits and have them play outside for a bit, then come in and watch Curious George (I dvr'd it -- the new one came in :thumbsup2 ). So all that should keep up pretty busy and distracted....though dh said he would be by today,......
