Good morning all! :sunny:
Emma decided that 5:15 was the perfect time to wake us up this morning. We convinced her to crawl in bed with us and go back to sleep. But not 15 min after she was back asleep that Matthew woke up. Oh well! Today is gymnastics and storytime at the library.

The weather here is so bizarre. Today it's in the 70s and then tomorrow part of the state is under a winter weather watch. And the high is supposed to be 55--which will happen at 6am! I'm supposed to run a 5K with my dad and sis on Sat. but it's gonna be cold--so I'm not sure what to do :confused3

Oh and we need some PD sent our way--nothing serious, but it could affect our trip in April. We''ve been settled on driving b/c the airfare has been outrageous. Now Continental has released a fare that we can afford ($220) to buy 3 tickets and then use one frequent flier ticket. Only prob is, we are 300 miles short of a FF ticket, but DH hasn't gotten credit for a flight he took a few months ago. SO, he's going to call NW today and argue with them so we can get credit for the flight-then we could book tickets to FL!!! So, we'll see! And if we fly, we get to add on another day to our trip--keeping my fingers crossed!

Well, sorry this has been all about me this time--DS is screaming for attention, so must go! Chat and catch up later!

Alice- It looks like they’re going to take the whole mass out of my head since they need to cut it open anyway. I’m not thinking about it as a major surgery though. I’m trying not to think about it much at all.

Nucpharm- Sorry you’re engagement ring is loose. I’m always afraid that my diamond will fall out, so I check it periodically when I’m wearing it. I'm sending you some pixie dust for your FF miles!

Zalansky- Your trip sounds like a lot of fun. I’m completely geared up for our vacation now. I love the picture of Cam laughing.

BNB- I haven’t tried a cup yet with Olivia. I may see if my mom has some of those cups with handles. She’d probably like it, since she likes to try holding her own bottle. Congrats on Jocelyn’s good grades. I’d be upset if she got left out too, but it would probably embarrass her to make a big deal out of it.

Alice- If you finish the basement with the remodel money, do you think you could put the washer/dryer down there? Ours is in the basement, which is a bit of a pain bringing everything up and down, but I like having it out of the way. No one has to see my laundry piles and I don’t have to hear the machines running.
I always have frozen nuggets in the house too. I don’t know any kids who won’t eat them, so they’re good to have around.

SL- I think the week is dragging too. That’s what always happens the week after Thanksgiving.

 Hi to all the moms I missed! I sent out my resume to a bunch of places yesterday (again) looking for part time work. Poor Olivia seems to be in pain with her teeth. She keeps sticking her fingers in her mouth, biting on them and then whining.

I cannot wait for this week to be over. My dad has been upstate since Sunday morning on a business trip, so I’ve been over at my mom’s house while she had to work evening shifts. We got a call on Monday that my grandfather’s brother passed away. So dad will be home this afternoon for the wake. I took the most depressing deposition yesterday (the woman’s brother was in a car accident, took some pain medication for his injuries, and the pain meds ate through his intestinal tract and killed him). Next week has to get better, right?

OK, I know I am a dork, but I am SO SAD over this news:

SYDNEY (AFP) - One of the founding members of the children's super-group The Wiggles, Australia's top-earning entertainers, is expected to quit the band due to a mystery illness, a report has said.

The group will announce Thursday that Yellow Wiggle Greg Page, 34, is quitting, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Wednesday.

The Wiggles, which have become staples for children in the United States and Britain, as well as Australia, have scheduled a "major announcement" in Perth ahead of the start of their new national tour.

The announcement relates to "members of the group", which is made up of Page, Jeff Fatt, Anthony Field and Murray Cook.

Page pulled out of the Australian group's US tour in June after suffering fainting spells and exhaustion, and has frequently been absent from performances since a double hernia operation last December.

The Wiggles were formed 15 years ago by a group of four schoolteachers with singing talent.

Last year, the Business Review Weekly named them Australia's most profitable entertainers, grossing over 45 million dollars (35 million US), more than Nicole Kidman.

:sad2: He's MY age- what in the world could be wrong? As you know, we are huge Wiggles fans in my house; I truly hope he recovers from whatever it is.

J&D - I’m sorry you had such a problem with your in-laws at dinner. Kudos for you to having your child act proper .

Joats - Sorry about the hormones. Is Jace the only one getting hurt at daycare or is it just him.

Stawberry lemonade - Is Lucas feeling better? Congrats on your raise! More money is always good. Thank you for the website link.

Dizagain - I wish I could override the doll thing, but DP is not budging. It’ll be easier for me to plan a cruise to the Caribbean and get it paid for and go in June than get the kid a doll.

Robin - Good job on getting Chili’s to comp the steak, I wouldn’t have been happy about a cold steak. Tell me about these Dole whips all you guys are all raving about. Enjoy your time off from the boys on Friday night! Happy Belated Birthday for Sam! I hear you on the budget thing, SO’s don’t like to stick to budgets at all, sometimes it makes me want to strangle someone. Don’t feel bad, I love mail too! I’m waiting for lots of stuff too, I love being MIA from work and ordering stuff online. Sorry to hear about little Miss Molly messing up her shirt. LMAO at the Shiii kunnn comment, go get the child some chicken!

Buzznbell- Congrats on Jocelyn making Academic Scholar!!! Self serve funnel cake yum, I would be there all day.

Gina Marie - Your Dining Diva’s logo is so cute! Hope the job search improves for you.

Diskim- I hope Aidan feels better soon. What kind of dog are you getting for Emily?

Lisa- Hope your iron levels come back up soon.

FF- Hope Kona is feeling better. All this poor sick children.

Tykes - Too funny about Tyler calling your DH by his first name.

Gems - Congrats on Hallmark backing you! I hope you are able to get Shelby on a schedule again soon. That ballon is super cute.

Fabulous - I don’t know if Tess is going to keep in contact with her siblings. Some of them are going to split up and the mother is only going to get 3 or 4 of her 7 kids, so I’m not sure what we are going to do. So many logistics, so little time.

Nuc- Love your decorations! Congrats on all cleaning, I need to get off of the computer and do that as well. Pixie dust for your flight!

Zalansky - Your trip sounded wonderful. Lol at the doll comment. Does Disney sell baby dolls? Love the pictures!

Justine - I was starting to worry about you, thought you may have really been pregnant again and you were in so much shock that you couldn’t bring yourself to post. So nice to see you back! I hope all of you guys feel better soon.

Ryan - Welcome back!

On a brighter note, we purchased Tess’s bed frame, we were going to order it from babyage.com here it is

Hi Ladies. Thank you for continuing to think of us. I'm sorry I haven't been on much lately, life is just overwhelming me. Nothing is going easy. I did meet with the atty. yesterday. We should have official papers by Friday. DH is understandably not happy with any of this and this whole process is just not going to be good. Please sending good vibes & prayers this way. I do believe that it helps.

Thank you Cabmom!!!Thank you for the great box of goodies we got for our exchange package. There were princess window decals that were immediately put on dd's window, lots of great Disney stickers, a Disney sticker activity book that DS has already started on, a very cute Mickey Mouse outfit for Leif, Disney playing cards and pencils and more. Thank you so much!

Nucpharm - I hope the plane thing gets taken care of and that you get an extra day at Disney :Pinkbounc Thank you SOOOOO much for the kids' gifts for x-mas, as I am not going to be able to buy them a thing this year. The kids haven't even seen it yet and I have it hidden in the basement and plan on wrapping them and surprising them x-mas morning. Thank you so much for your generousity and thoughtfulness  :lovestruc

GM - I am including you in my thoughts and prayers each day. I am sorry things are going so horribly for you. I'm sorry about your grandfather and the whole money situation and for your health issues. :grouphug: We love you and care about you and are here for you.

zalansky - love the pics you shared! You look fabulous! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Funny about all the attention, I bet the kids loved it.

SL - hope the week goes fast

Ryan - good to hear from you

Robin - that is horrible about Greg from the Wiggles. Was Josh wired after eating all that chocolate?

Val - I signed up to be in the audience, but haven't heard anything about it yet. .. I hope you are doing well.

Gem - loved that baloon, very cute. WTG on the Hallmark deal :thumbsup2 Good vibes your way that this all comes to fruition, when are you hoping to open? :wizard:

icebrat - Love all the stuff you bought!

Tasha & Jill - hi :wave2: I hope school is going well

FF, justhat, diskim, fabumouse, dizagain, lissawynn, J&D and everyone else I'm missing, HELLO. Thank you again for your friendship!

Hi all. I might actually get the time to catch up with you all today. We had a spelling bee yesterday that took me (or should I say paroled me) for three periods and I had to play catch up with my morning classes.
My afternoon is pretty empty so far.

I finally got to go into our addition last night. They cut the hole through our old closet ceiling, and I managed to drag my butt up the ladder. All I can say is that it's going to be great when it's finished. Our bedroom is HUGE; it's the biggest bedroom I've ever had. Ladies, my closet gives me the warm fuzzies inside. I know that sounds so lame, but I've always lived in older homes with tiny closets. I will never have to store my clothes in our basement or in storage containers again. The only thing that bothers me, and it's so dumb, is the linen closet in our bathroom. It's tall, but it's only about 10" deep. I'm going to have to do some clever maneuvering with our towels and stuff. The kids' rooms are great, and their closets are great, too. We decided to give Annabel the room with the bigger closet, as she will most likely be a shopper like mommy and need the room. I figure I can keep their bed linens in their closets.
The chimney man is coming tomorrow to finish that project. The drywallers are coming on Monday and will do the entire upstairs in one day. The siding guys are coming next week and will most likely need two days to get that done. Also, the borough inspector came and signed off on the house, as far as structure is concerned. The electrical inspector came yesterday and the contractor needs to redo something in the bathroon, then we're good with that. DH was going to the paint/carpet store today to order the paint for the bedrooms, bathroom, hall/stairway/living room. I have to go look at carpet samples this week, so we can order that.
We might actually be in our bedrooms in about two weeks, which means I can put up my Christmas tree!

I did eat my steak last night with a side of steamed garlic spinich. I really enjoyed the meat. I've loved spinich forever, so that's no hardship for me to eat it.

I'm going to go back and reread all of your posts. I will probably need to open a word doc to respond.

Good morning all! I have a few minutes before preschool pickup, and I don't want to get out all the wrapping stuff, then have to put it all away again.

icebrat, I wanted to answer some of your questions while I had a minute--I know you'll only come up with 1000 more, but you're trying so hard to do the right thing!

I would recommend flying--20 hours in the car sounds painful! The novelty of flying may go over well, she may nap, they usually serve a snack. My #1 travel item--bubbles! Also a few snacks, simple books, that sort of thing.

In defense of your DP on the doll--she's probably seen way too many teen pregnancies, and it colors her view. I'm not saying she's right, but I can see how that would be the last thing she wants for Tess. It's very typical for little girls to want dolls, much like boys want guns--doesn't mean they'll be serial killers.

I love the bed--any mattress should be fine. Score on the bargain!

Healthy eating--I have to agree with you on setting a place to eat, as well as limiting McDonald's. You want to lay a healthy foundation, and teach about choices. I'm far from a "nut and granola" mom, but there are many things you can offer that are healthy but fun--mac and cheese, pizza, soup, and so forth. For snacks, there's string cheese, yogurt tubes, all manner of fresh fruits, many types of small crackers (Goldfish, etc.), that all make nutritious but fun foods. And about the eating around the house--you have no idea how many wrappers and sticky "anonymous substances" I've pulled out of our couch! You don't want to be attracting insects or vermin all over the house. I won't let my 3yo eat outside the kitchen (although my older two, 11 and 9, have more leeway). Seriously, you are asking for messes everywhere--at least in the kitchen, I find them quickly!

On discipline--you'll find that different styles work with different kids. MyDD11 really only needs a warning--it's rare that she actually gets punished. DS9, OTOH, needs for the lesson to be painful before he gets it. I find that physical punishment (hitting) isn't the most effective--it's psychicly painful that gets him. For him, that means losing Play Station privileges. But, it works. With DD3, if she's throwing a temper tantrum, I leave the room. She's not allowed to come find me (in the next room) until she can act calmly. Losing privileges seems to work for all ages--length of loss and item lost varies. For DD3, losing Sesame Street for a day is huge.

I hope that helps. Parenting is a lot of "feeling your way", so don't be afraid of not knowing all the answers. I only knew them all back before I had kids!

Sigh..........I kept Sam home from school today. I think he may have strep, not sure. Last night he mentioned his throat hurt, and again this morning. This is my child who NEVER plays sick to try and stay home from school, so I believe him when he says he doesn't feel well. I looked in his throat, and his tonsils look swollen, but no fever and it's not bright red with white spots. But every time he gets it, he gets just FOUL breath, and he had that this morning. I'm doing the wait and see before I take him to the Dr., but I did send him back to bed and he fell asleep. Another sign I think he truly is ill. Poor guy. :guilty: When I called the school, the principal answered the phone and said several kids have been out with sore throats, but no strep reported yet, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. As some of you know, I *always* get it when my kids get it, so I'm hoping NO STREP!

Ice- wow, great bed! And that Dora mural is crazy cool! I hope your DP gets better. I just wouldn't make a big deal over the two mommy thing; I'm sure the daycare/preschool people will figure it out soon enough. I would do the plane- even if she is upset, I would rather deal with it for 2+ hours than 20! And I've checked many a carseat and stroller- never had one get broken or really damaged. Maybe a scuff, but nothing bad. They'll put it in a plastic bag a lot of the time too, to prevent it from getting wet from the elements or scuffy. And, no, you don't have to wrap for 'you know who.' ;)

Hi Allison! Glad you are back with us! I have a package from Santa as well, but I probably won't get it off until this weekend. I hope things get a little easier with your DH understanding what you need and want.

Alisa- Wow, I'm so glad you got to see the addition! That is very, very exciting! What fun to go pick out carpeting, paints, etc- I love that part of remodeling! I'm still very pleased with my carpet choice from the summer.

GM- I don't think we are going to plumb the basement- I mean, there's plumbing pipes down there, that run under the house, and some of them will have to be altered, as the house will have to be raised a couple inches to as much as a foot....I'm not sure- I think the contractors will dig down to give us the 8' ceilings, but Dh thinks they will raise the house up. :confused3 But if it does have to be plumbed anyway, I might consider having the W/D down there, esp as we will have a family room down there....you know, to watch TV while folding laundry, my daily routine.

It is freaking FREEZING in my kitchen, so I need to go....our windows are sooo drafty, it's not even funny. Another thing on our remodel list. We have 10' celings downstairs and the draftiest windows...and only one heater vent in the kitchen, the largest room in our house. Doesn't make sense. All to go with our $4,500 furnace we had put it- I keep telling DH, "Why did we pay so much for a furnace when the heat is escaping out the windows?" I guess because we didn't have the $$ to do both at the same time is why! :rotfl: Oh well, one more winter with crappy windows and that's all.....when we first bought the house we had them looked at, and the guy said that since they were original windows to the house we might not want to replace them. But, excuse me, with half of them painted shut, many of them leaking air in, and 1 of them the frame is broken, I don't care if they are original or not, THEY SUCK and are broken, so buh-bye! It's not like we live in some grandiose Victorian that we are trying to preserve....our house has been altered so many times that it's considered historic, but it's not on the registry. But we still can't add a room to it because it's in a historical district. DUMB.

Robin,

When we first took Kona to the Dr. last week her throat looked really red but her strep test came back negative.

Then, we went through all the sickness and ER visits and took her for her follow up yesterday. The Dr. said she had blisters on her throat that were starting to get better and that there is a virus going around that causes a high fever and blisters like that on the throat. :confused3

I hope he feels better soon!

I just can't get motivated today. I'll be back later to get caught up with everyone.

Yay- my 1st Gymbo order came! The outfit I ordered for Molly as a Christmas gift is soooooooo cute. I wasn't sure if I would like the sweater IRL, but I do! And all of DH's work clothes he ordered from overstock came too- looks nice. I hope it fits him! He got a suit and an add'l blazer for $130! :thumbsup2 Same brands that Men's Wearhouse sells but at a third what we would spend there. I can't get over it.

FF- those blisters Kona had sound miserable. I have had more than one doctor tell me that 99% of the time, babies won't get strep, even when exposed to it....but that the strep virus can present itself as something else. I wonder if that's what happened to Kona. I know when Sam had strep both when Josh and Molly were babies, I would say something to the doctor when Josh or Molly would get sick a few days later and they would say, it can't be strep- babies don't get it. But then they would get an ear infection or something else. Weird!

Sam seems a bit better after sleeping another hour. I gave him 1 tylenol tablet before he went back to bed and he says he feels a bit better. After Josh goes to school I have to run to the store for a few items and get him some throat tablets to suck on I guess. He HATES children's medicine now- he gags on it, so I just give him the smallest dose of adult tylenol or motrin. He has some more homework to do, so he can work on that as well.

Icebrat- you don't need a nose sucker for a 2 year old....she will know how to blow her nose. But you can get one of those ear thermometers- I've never had one though. I can usually just tell when they have a fever, and you can just buy a digital thermometer and put it under their armpit to get their temp. BNB had some great food suggestions- just offer her well rounded snacks and don't get caught up in the small stuff. For example, some days Molly eats great portions of produce; other days all she wants is chicken nuggets and crackers. As long as I know over the course of a few days she is eating good portions of all food groups, I don't worry too much. Toddlers are kind of natural food grazers and they know when they're hungry and they usually know when to quit eating when they are full. One of my favorite 'junk' foods to feed my kids is pizza- I did weight watchers for awhile, as well as nutrition classes, and as long as it's not loaded with tons of cheese and high fat meats, it's actually a great meal choice- the tomato sauce counts as a veggie, mozzerella cheese is great, esp if you can find pizzas with whole wheat crust! We have pizza (usually just frozen DiGiorno or Freschetta) once a week served with carrots and cucumbers on the side and we're good to go. They also like spaghetti with meatballs (and again, I've started to buy whole wheat pasta- it really doesn't taste any different, esp with sauce on it), teriyaki chicken stirfry with veggies and noodles (and my younger two are rice PIGS- they LOVE sticky rice with soy sauce- my oldest won't even touch it, so you never know!)...I have a hard time getting my boys to just eat plain meat, even if it's marinated. They just don't really like a pork chop or slices of steak. Esp my younger son. :confused3 Anyway, I think you will have to make a conscious effort to not let your eating habits rub off on Tess too much- that's HORRIBLE that your nanny would ration your food like that! :sad2: But it sounds like you really want to do right by her, and that's a huge part of it.

Anyway, I need to go find my 'master list' of things I have ordered online and cross those off. I'm getting antsy about those Star Wars guys I ordered for Josh that shipped last Monday. It said shipped USPS parcel select- I thought that was about 6-10 days? And it's only coming from S. CA to here- not exactly cross-country. So I emailed them last night and inquired how long does their parcel select usually take. Why some companies don't pay the extra .50 to offer tracking is beyond me sometimes! :furious: I mean, we did have a holiday last week, and 10 days would be tomorrow, but still. That is THE MOST important Christmas gift he is getting, and I still haven't seen them in stores, so I just have to have it in my hot little hands! :p

justhat - Wow. That Christening looked fancier than my wedding. :lmao:

nucpharm - Sending PD so you can get your plane tickets. :wizard:

ginamarie - Sending more PD to you for your job search. :wizard: I hope your lousy week gets better. Sorry about your grandfather's brother.

Alice28 - I heard about the yellow Wiggle this morning. So sad. Hope that Star Wars thing shows up. I'm waiting on 3 online orders which make up 99% of DH's gifts.

icebrat - What a gorgeous bed. As far as finding a pediatrician, you might want to ask your gyn if he/she has any recommendations. That's what we did before DS was born. Then go make an appointment to meet with potential pediatricians (they're used to that sort of thing). You'll know right away if you don't want to deal with certain personalities and philosophies.

glt - Sending prayers, pixie dust, good thoughts, and anything else that might help your way. :grouphug:

lissawynn - Your closets and huge bedroom sound so great.

I'm so pathetic. I've been trying to win a radio call-in contest for 2 days. I even raided the computer guy's cabinet for some speakers to hook up to my computer since I don't get any radio reception in my office. The prize is a $500 gift card to the mall. I think the contest goes until Christmas or thereabout. Wish me luck. :)

GLT – I’m glad you were able to drop in and let us know how things are going. I hope your husband can realize what you’re doing is the best thing for you and your children. My parents went through a messy divorce when I was about 11. It took my dad a LONG time to “get” it, but now he has a good relationship with my mom. Also, I think that when he looks back to when my sisters and I were little, he realized there were lots of things he could have/should have done differently. He is a wonderful grandfather, and I have no ill will to either of my parents for things that happened in the past.

icebrat – My son flew for the first time this summer when he was 18 months old and could have cared less about being on the plane. He was actually very good. A good investment might be a portable dvd player. My son loves Elmo and will watch him for hours. If she’s a Dora fan, you could take some Dora or Diego dvds along. Also, I’d take plenty of snacks and drinks for her.
Your Dora themed room is so cute. I would baby-proof the outlets and places where she could get into chemicals, like the kitchen and bathroom. Do you have steps? You’ll need to gate those, too.
I hope your DP gets better soon. Maybe she should see a dr if she’s not getting better.

Alice – We are not Wiggles watchers. I don’t think Jimmy knows they exist. I hope Sam is feeling better. Happy belated bday to him. Btw, I love Pizza Hut pizza. DH worked there when he was in high school and refers to it as Pizza S*ut. Nice, huh?

Z – I love your photos from WDW! Is the big tree in the lobby leaning over? Also, the kids look adorable in there Disney outfits. What size is Cam’s dress? If it would fit Annabel next year, would you want to sell it after the holidays? Btw, I think you look very stylish in your lobby pic. I need a pair of camo capris since I’m the only person in my house without a stich of camo stuff in her wardrobe.
I’m glad to hear you had a good meal at Le Cellier. I have been reading so many disappointing reviews about it lately. We had to cancel our ARD there in the summer when my sister got so sick.
I think you should use your new siggy pic as your Christmas photo. Those are the best kind to send and receive.

GM – I hope things begin to look up for you soon! I have to go back and read more about your surgery, but I’m thinking of you!

Nucpharm – I hope today is a good day, despite you being up so early this morning.

Floridafam – I completely understand a lack of motivation. I just cannot wait until our upstairs is done so we can move in and not have our pillows/blankets/crib in the living room. I’m also getting tired of keeping our clean stuff in laundry baskets and searching for clothes every morning.

BnB – I’m putting all of my gifts in gift bags this year. I bought a bunch at Target last year after Christmas. Now I just have to remember where I put them and I’ll be in good shape.

Justthat – For some reason I can never view your photos at school. I’ll have to take a look at them when I get home.

SL – I don’t think I congratulated you on your raise. Congratulations! I agree that these “short” work weeks tend to be the longest. I just got an e-mail that we’re having a holiday concert next Wednesday. We’ll miss two classes in the afternoon. I am so very sad about this.

Ryan840 – I’m glad you liked the stuff in your exchange package and that it provided some distraction for the kids. I hope the car isn’t too obnoxious. I didn’t really make it work b/c I didn’t want Jimmy thinking it was his to keep.

Val – I did enjoy my steak and will be having another one this evening. I love the chain place, Texas Roadhouse. Now I have an excuse to go there on the weekends. I need more read meat!

Dizagain – I can’t wait to see what else you’ve picked out for Jimmy. The truck you got is so nice because it’s a QUIET toy. A friend gave him one last year for Christmas similar to the one you sent. The difference is that when you push the driver down, it makes this terrible honking noise, similar to what a real truck horn sounds like.

Joats – Jimmy has had so many black and blue marks on his head that I’ve lost count. Not only was he constantly falling when he was learning to get around on his own, but his temper tantrums (banging his head off of things) contributed to many marks. The only one that was serious enough for concern was when DH was watching him and he ran head first into a speaker. That was quite a bump. I guess the fact that my dad watches him makes me a little more at ease when he gets bumped up. I know my dad is watching him and it’s Jimmy and his cousin that caused the injuries.
Glad yesterday’s BB reference gave you a smile.

DisKim – Happy belated bday to Emmy! I can’t wait to hear/see her reaction to her Christmas present. I just hope she isn’t reading the boards and knows about her puppy!

I think I’m all caught up. Sorry if I missed anyone! I have pregnancy brain!

Hello, hello! Gymnastics was fun--only Emma and one other child. I think the class she's in now might dissolve in a few months. Emma and another girl are moving up to the next class and 2 others are moving to another state. Too bad, it's a areally great class. Library time was fun, Emma's fav. part is getting to pick out a DVD. She's now ingrossed in Bob the Builder, so I have a few minutes of peace and quiet!

icebrat--I second everything that has been said about toddler's and eating habits! When Emma turned 2 her eating habits changed from eating whatever was put in front of her to being extremely picky. She would eat McDonalds, chicken nuggets, or hotdogs for every meal if allowed. But I've come with a house rule, especially for dinner (lunch is usually leftovers of some sort) that mom only cooks one meal. If she doesn't like it, or won't try it, she doesn't eat. Might sound cruel, but she'll eat if she's hungry, and i"m not going to be the short order cook in the house ( my one caveat is, if I know I'm fixing something not child friendly, thai food for example, I will make her PB&J) I also try to make sure that we have a fruit or veggie with each meal. It might be as simple as a cup of applesauce, but it's there. We also only have juice once a day, and then it's either milk or water--and soda (Sprite only) on special occasions. Not to say that we don't have McD's every once and a while--it's a special treat for her, and we treat it that way.

alice--I'm anxiously awaiting some packages to arrive as well. I ordered a gift for DFIL and his GF from Sur La Table and it's still not here--for some reason it had to go from Indiana to Wisconsin before it heads here! Whatever! And I'm also waiting on an order from Crayola.com (I got an email saying that it had been shipped, but no way to track it) :confused3 Once those get here, we'll be golden! Hope your packages arrive soon. Hope Sam gets better soon!

glt--so glad your package arrived! I hope it will bring a little christmas cheer to your house. Sending lots of prayers your way! :grouphug: Where will you be for Christmas??

justhat--glad you are feeling better. Hope Henry improves soon!

lissawyn--how exciting that your addition is going well! I love our huge bedroom in this house, so I can feel your excitement! Glad you'll be able to put up your tree!

WEll, Matthew has stunk up the house--time for a diaper change, and nap. I picked up a biography of WAlt Disney at the library today, so hopefully I'll get a little reading done!

ugh! I can't catch up!!

I sit down to catch up and can only find the time to read, not do a proper post.

I need to hop on the treadmill right now while Tyler is napping.

hope everyone is doing well.

Tamie

nucpharm- Yes, we are in for some crazy weather here in the South.

icebrat- Beautiful bed. Can't believe you got it for only $30. I know we bought a crib mattress that was top rated when my DD was born. I'll get the name of it when she wakes up. Here is a great site for product reviews:

GLT- Sending more hugs and prayers your way.

lissawynn- You be careful climbing that ladder! ;) Glad the additions will be finished soon so you can put up and enjoy your tree.

Hi, Tamie! Yes, there are a lot of posts to catch up with. Don't worry about it.

TTFN!

Alice - I know!!! I'm so upset about Greg Page (yellow wiggle). We've been big Wiggles fans for years, and Kevin and DH saw them 3 years ago and had a great time. Kevin was kind of getting out of them but started back into them recently because the baby likes them. I honestly thought he was older than 34 - I know Jeff is 50 something!!! I can't imagine being sick and not knowing what's wrong - it must also be VERY HARD knowing that you are the lead singer of a Multi-Million dollar singing group and you have hundreds of employees relying on you to perform. I did hear he was sick because he missed a lot of shows recently, I hope they can find out what it is. I know this may sound weird but I do just hope he's not "quitting" the band because he doesn't like it anymore. I don't think that is the case because i've heard about this illness for awhile now - but I couldn't help but think it just because of the wacky celebrities we have here in the US (but they seem very clean cut).

Icebrat - I love the new bed you're ordering Tess - it looks so comfortable! :cloud9:

Loretta - Great photos!!! I LOL at the one of you standing with your hands crossed when the kids are acting up. I love the one of Cam trying to get the ornaments on the christmas tree. Glad you had a nice trip - and got a few days of rest and relaxation and away from the stresses of life for a few days.

Nucpharm - Glad Emma likes Gymnastics. Kevin really liked it when we took him but I thought it'd be hard to commit to it during the week - and the weekend classes were booked up. We're starting swimming this Saturday which goes through the end of February.

Glt - Thanks for stopping in and letting us know how you are doing. I think in the long run you'll see that things happened this way for a reason. You're in my thoughts.

Tamie - Have fun on your treadmill! I can't seem to keep up with this thread either!

Justine - I have the Pliko P3 also. I love it!!! It is really one of the nicest strollers i've had. Kevin completely destroyed his Graco one so we had to get a new one when the baby was born. We got the Pliko car seat and stroller as a set. It cost a fortune, but the infant seat was ranked the safest one on the market at the time. Liam got so big so fast that he only used the infant seat for 4-5 months. I loaned it to a mom friend of mine who I used to live with and i've yet to ever hear from her again. My DH can't believe I "gave" someone I barely knew our $160 car seat. Live and learn I guess. Anyway, the stroller is really nice and Kevin, although too big for the standing spot on the back, loves to stand on it and ride around. We used it a lot at the beach last summer and we'll use it in WDW for our Pre-Easter trip. It is a great stroller and I would recommend it!

Diskim - WOW with the Puppy present for your daughter for Christmas! She'll be thrilled with her present!

SL - Good luck with the radio contest. My friend won tickets to see Nick Lachey through a radio contest and the trick for her was to dial the # while the DJ is still talking about the contest. She called before the DJ finished his request and got right through. A $500 gift card would be awesome!

Alissa - Glad to hear that your house is still coming along. I'm sure you're so anxious to have it all finished soon!

Hi to Joats, J&D, Gems, Ryan840, Jill, Ginamaria, Fabumouse, Floridafam, Buzznbelle, Bellacam, Cabmom, GWCollins, and all my mommy friends!

I've gotta run, talk more hopefully soon!
