Hi Ladies,

Tasha - I have to tell you, i've not laughed so hard at a story here on the DIS until you told your story about Daycare. I can't believe how funny you made it sound, and how the woman kept saying to you "No really, it was so stinky"....no kidding, it's poop in a diaper! I even told DH about your post in the car today and we were laughing a lot thinking about what we would have said if any of the kids sitters/teachers ever said that to us. You handled it well, and I don't know how you were able to not laugh when she kept going on and on about it. Good thing that the tag fairy doesn't read this thread because if she/he did, you'd have a new tag for sure!!! :wizard:

Jill - I just love the pictures of John - he's such a cutie! He looks like an angel sleeping in his bed, and the girls seem to just love him to pieces! Glad the party was a success but sorry to hear about the cake. Poor Katie! I hope the whole "tp" incident blows over next week. I can't believe your husband sent her on the bus with a huge roll of TP!! I don't know about your DH, but my DH always buys those 100 roll packs - men and their toilet paper!

Alice - So glad the shower was a success. You really spent a lot of time planning and preparing that i'm glad it worked out well.
Oh, and I'm thinking maybe i'm your exchange for Christmas? I know, it's a secret, but I think it may be me.
Oh, and good luck with the job search. I can understand how you'd like to find a job for some "you" time. I hope you find something close to home where the $ is worth your while.

Fabumouse - Our whole yard was full of puddles this morning when I woke up, and the wind was blowing like crazy. I live in Central/Northern NJ - we're probably neighbors! We have a split level, so our basement isn't really under the ground. I would imagine that anyone who has a basement had flooding today! Sorry to hear you had to deal with that all on your own.

BNB - Seems that Fabumouse and you and my DH have all gotten thrown up on (in the mouth). It sounds so gross, and it something that until it happens you just have no idea how gross it really is - ICK. My DH and oldest son kind of turned in the same direction and whamo! LOL at the nickname you gave him!
Oh, and we have a 500 gallon oil tank.

GLT - So glad your kitty came back - especially around this time of the year. My kitty is sitting on my leg as I type this - she has that big cone around her neck so she doesn't get to her stitches and it's driving her crazy. Yum with the Choc Chip pancakes!

Joats - Hope that you and Jace are all feeling better soon. Sorry to hear that you had to cancel the Halloween Party.

Staci - Sorry to hear about your DH"s hand, but at least it seems to be healing which is good. I hear you about the Swimming lesson thing and putting on a bathing suit. Kevin's last swimming instructor was about 5'9 and was 18 and was probably 110 pounds soaking wet.

Justine - Sorry to hear about the terrible night's sleep you had the other day. Hope you have a great trip to WDW!!!! :woohoo:

Ginamarie - I just love your new pictures - they are so adorable! Can you believe that the Cards won the World Series? That should have been the Mets in there. Oh well.

Nucpharm - We also decided to make December 25th a no travel day for our family. Once Kevin was born, we decided that we'd drive all over for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, etc., but Christmas Day was to be at home with just our family. It works for us, and we enjoy the day. Glad to hear that work is going so well and you're enjoying yourself.

WDW - Cute pictures, thanks for sharing!!!! princess:

Floridafam - Hope you enjoyed your facial. Last time I had one, the woman doing it was trying to sell me some $300 bottle of wrinkle cream - and quite honestly, I don't think I have a lot of lines or crows feet. Sorry to hear that DH had to drop out of the Ironman.

SL - Glad you were able to have a mini-scrapbooking get together.

Cabmom - Hope you're having fun at the Great Wolf Lodge. We went to the one in the Pocono's last year and can't wait to go again.

Tamie - Hope you had a great time at the wedding and at your Halloween Party!! Post some pics of your costumes if you can.

Hi to all the other mom's I may have missed - I had typed out an even longer response earlier and I hit the wrong key and it disappeared!

Well, Gymnastics was a huge success today. Even though Kevin was one of only 2 boys in a class of about 15 girls, he had a blast. He loved it, and I honestly think I may sign him up for it. They did 50 straight minutes of jumps and this obstacle course thing where they did the vault, balance beam, hula hoop, etc. Soccer was cancelled for the 2nd week in a row, but we took the opportunity to brave the wind and go to the pumpkin patch. At least by 3 this afternoon the weather had cleared and it was just windy and muddy. We did a corn maze, hayride, pumpkin sling-shot, etc.

Oh, and last night Liam was up 7 times (yes, seven times). It was HORRIBLE. He just kept waking up crying but his eyes would be closed. Tonight he went down at 7:45 after a lavender bath and I just pray that he's not up all night or at 5 am because of the time change. I honestly don't know anyone who has a child my age who is up 1-2 times a night let alone 7! I just seem to have a baby that doesn't need much sleep or sleeps very lightly, so that's just unfortunate for us! We have tried all and every method and i'm thisclose to using the Benadryl (kidding)

Gotta go and get some sleep!

Night all!

Hillbeans - Let me help you feel better. Leif does wake about twice a night -- so you are not alone. Sorry about 7 times, that is horrible. I hope you get sleep tonight.

This whole time change thing bites. I wish we didn't have to do it at all. It just messes everyone up, especially the kids.

Joats - I read your first post and had to skip ahead to your second post to make sure Jace was OK. I'm sorry he is so sick. I hope he is better tomorrow and keeping down the fluids.

Jill - LOVE the pics, thanks for sharing. The prince hat rocks! And John is such a cute. Sorry about the trouble with the cake.

zalansky - hello! Life works in mysterious ways :sunny:

dizagain - we head to the waterpark tomorrow :Pinkbounc I feel a cold coming on, and the kids have been complaining of one too, so I hope we are all healthy to go :wizard: Don't kids say the most crazy things? i wonder all the time where they get some of their phrases from.

SL - that was a good idea to have the ladies over to your house to scrapbook, sounds like fun.

Fab - OMG, what a royal PITA. So sorry about your basement, juggling kids and knowing DH was out having a blast. Ugh! Moments like that infuriate me sometimes. Sounds like you are taking it all in stride. :grouphug:

robin :thumbsup2 good job on the shower. Did you go next door and get a photo? how nice of you to get the baby so many fun things from gymbo!! The idea of fixing a house just to move sounds like way too much work to me. Another reason for us to stay in our cute little home.

bnb - yeah on dvc! Your mom is looking out for you. One of these days someone needs to explain how all that works, it sounds really confusing. But a trip and a good deal, i understand!! :thumbsup2 DS is my puker -- especially this past year. From the middle of Disney, to hotels, to restaurants, in beds throughout the house, it's become almost normal

I have some pics to share too. I have been trying and trying to get a pic of the three of them for a xmas card, to no avail. This first one is one of my more recent attempts.
PA250016.jpg

Then, while I was cleaning up from breakfast they kids were playing, they relocated Leif's crib and Leif and DS were miraculously placed in the crib (DD put Leif in there). Creative play anyone? :lmao: Robin, note the colors in the boys' room -- the other walls are red and blue.
PA280039.jpg

This evening we carved pumkins. Here's one of Leif giving it a try, and then one of the finished products...nothing as glamorous as GM's painting. . .but good for us.
PA280044.jpg

PA280054.jpg

If all goes well tomorrow is our overnight at the water park. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everyone is relatively healthy (I feel a heck a cold coming on though, I should be able to medicate it though) and that dh is in a good mood. I am looking foward to it! :Pinkbounc

I was talking with someone today about Disney and soooo have the Disney but, I really need a trip in my future. . . :smickey: :donald: :tigger: :simba: :tink:

2 .05 clicks on Sunshine!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7:40PM PST

Hey!

Well, I need to go to bed while I can...Carson is sound asleep and he hasn't eaten since 7:30. I never know if he'll sleep through until like 3 or so or get on up around 11 for some chow. SO, I guess I'll take my chances and get into bed where I am finally sleeping once again for at least the first half of the evening. Funny thing is, I keep getting these "back rubs" and they are DANGEROUS as I am not b'feeding and I haven't started back on the pill yet and he is acting like a teenager telling me "nothing will happen". Um, yeah, right. The longest it has ever taken me to get pg is less than two months and that was TRYING. Fab - is there any room on that glacier for my DH? I know I'd miss him terribly, but...

Anyway, I....oh no. Carson is crying and he's upstairs with DH. Hmmm wanna see how long it takes for DH to wake up? Try NEVER - we'd all still be sitting here waiting tomorrow!!! I will respond tomorrow - glad everyone seems to be doing ok today! :)

Jill- what great pics of John! I love the newborn one too- what a sweet-pea! I'm sorry Costco messed up your cake; usually they do such a good job too! I picked mine up this morning and had my second piece after dinner. To be fair, I only ate 2 bites the first time- I have a hard time eating while I am hosting. I got chocolate with the vanilla cheesecake filling- nummy!

Hillbeans- I'll never tell who my pal is... :teeth: :teeth: I guess you will just have to wait and see. ;) I'm glad Kevin loved gymnastics, but ey-yi-yi on Liam waking up so much last night! You must be so darn tired!

GLT- love the pics of the kids! I love the look on your older son's face (is it Laine? I'm having a forgetful moment on what your older two's names are- I know they are all Ls though) in the first picture! Too funny! My kids have all gotten in Molly's crib too- I was like, "Get out! You're going to break it!" I like the colorful walls of your boy's room- that must have been time consuming to get them so bright! And the pumpkins turned out great. We have to do that tomorrow.

We have a Mickey sticker on our fridge and just for fun DH said to Molly, "Who's that!?" She said quite clearly, "Muckey!" Yay Molly! :cheer2: :cheer2: She also said "Please, pizza, and Goofy" today, all for the first time. She's going to be talking our ears off in no time. She already does, but we can only understand: No, mine, momma, Yosh, Daddee, Papa, nigh-nigh and Baba. And kitty. And baby. She did say Sammy loud and clear the other day, but she won't say it again.

Diz- you and I are the same as how easily we get pregnant. That's why I'm so nervous about this HSG showing my tubes are blocked and the pregnancy test say NEGATIVE tomorrow. It took no tries with Sam (accident), 2 with Josh, 1 with Molly. Yikes.

Z- Still sending positive vibes about selling your house and you guys finding a great one!

Val- you doing OK? Haven't heard from you in a few days.

Well, I am pooped. Molly didn't nap for the shower- I put her down about 3:30, when people were trickling out. She did great though, so it wasn't a big deal in the end. We have zippo plans for tomorrow except for pumpkin carving. It will be so nice!

I can't remember who it was that asked if I was an RN. I think Hillbeans but I just can't remember right now. No, I'm not an RN. I did one semester in the RN program. I did well in it but I just didn't think I would want to make a career of it. I think it's a wonderful career but not exactly for me. I knew I did want to work in the medical field though so I like the health management and coding stuff better so far.

Jill~ What great photos! I remember that crown John is wearing. I wanted to buy Kylie one like it but a pink one and they didn't have it in pink. They had a princess cone but I didn't like it as much. Anyway, I am getting off track. It looks like he really liked his cake. He is so adorable! I'm sorry about the cake mess-ups though. That's too bad. And all right that your last day is Dec. 12 too! We will have to have a cyber party! I am counting it down too!

Hillbeans~ Hehe, glad I gave you a laugh. The woman is good with the kids. She really is but she is really weird in some ways too. I don't know what to think about her but I am stuck with her for now. I am hoping to put Kylie in Headstart (preschool) when she turns 3. She also will not have this teacher anymore in a few months (possibly less) so I am actually a little relieved about that. She will be moving up into the next age group. She is in with the younger one year olds and she will be moving up to the older group of 1s soon since she will be 18 months in a week. Hopefully her other teacher will be more normal. What really gets to me is she isn't fresh out of high school or college or anything. She's in her 40s and has been doing this a while. She actually said this is the only time she'd ever seen anything like this. I have a hard time believing she's never seen dark poop before. She is the type that will probably want to know what the nurse said when I called. Um, I didn't call so I plan to use my limited medical knowledge (thankfully I do have some even if it isn't much) and BS it for her just to get her off my back. Just a few months with her...just a few months...hey, maybe less if I'm lucky! Kylie is still so small (the younger babies are either her size or bigger) and she isn't aggressive towards the younger ones at all. If she was they would move her up sooner. I will have to work on her "pushing younger babies down" skills to get her moved quicker. Okay, maybe I won't do that.

GLT~ Love the pictures. The one of Leif helping with the pumpkin is too cute. Kylie used her hands. She isn't quite as sophisticated as Leif, lol. She can use a spoon to some extent but I didn't even think to give her one. So maybe she is sophisticated. It's me who isn't, lol! ;)

fabumouse~ I guess I will never be a serious pageant mom because the idea of spending $700 on a dress makes me want to vomit. That is absurd. *My apologies to anyone that has done that. You really are quite normal and I am the one with issues. Really. Not strange at all. (No, I'm not being sarcastic. Of course not!)*

We were gone all day today buying some clothes and other odds and ends. We found a really pretty Christmas dress at Belk. It was on sale and it is perfect for her portraits and also perfect for the pageant. Only $30 so I was happy! Then, we went a few other places and ended our trip at Wal-mart. Kylie needed new pjs since she is getting too long for her old ones. I like the feety ones since I know she will stay warm in those. I tried some on her in the dressing room. The thing is I grabbed a pair of boys pjs just to see what size she needed. I didn't think anything of it actually. They were just the first ones I saw in that size. Much to my surprise, she really liked them and refused to take them off! So, to make a long story short, we ended up having to have someone escort us to a register and pay for them. She wore her new red firetruck pjs home. She looks really cute in it though and why can't a girl wear firetrucks anyway? I think we're liberated enough to do so. Plus, who is really going to see them? I like them. I also ended up buying another pair of boys pjs with puppies on it for her before we left. She likes puppies and I like her so she has those too now. She also got a new baby doll. Ironically enough, it is a boy doll. It is wearing blue anyway so I guess it's a boy.

On another note, we decided we are not doing WDW next year. I really want to but I was told my clinicals may be a couple hours away from where I live next year depending on what clinics/hospitals are available at the time. I am hoping I will get something closer but I need to be prepared for the possibility of a long commute. I also will have to drive to campus every day except the one day I have clinicals. That is a lot more gas money. Plus, I will have to start paying for full-time daycare. We decided we had better really be responsible with our money in case we need it then for those extra expenses. Sometimes it sucks being a responsible adult. Oh, well. We will just do a more budget-friendly vacation instead. Not sure if we will do St. Augustine or something closer to home though. We will wait and see how the budget is around Feb. or March and decide then. Funny thing is I am not as disappointed as I thought I would be. I just don't want to deal with the stress of not having enough money because we went to WDW when we shouldn't have. So I am actually okay with it. I figure there will be plenty of trips once I graduate and start working so that keeps me feeling okay with it.

Well, we are going to do a little more shopping today and then we have the trunk-or-treat at the ILs church tonight so I won't be back on today more than likely. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekends though. I can't wait to finally let Kylie wear her costume. I will take pics and try to post those later this week.

So much for getting an extra hour's worth of sleep...

Sorry I've been so out of touch lately. On Friday we had our "crazy dress day" (since we don't have Halloween anymore) and it was like having five school days packed into one. I was exhaused. I have to download the costume photos, but my costume went pretty well.

Jimmy and I evacuated the house for a few hours yesterday so DH and BIL could remove the ceiling in what used to be Jimmy's room. Today we're moving our bedroom stuff to the garage and camping the the living room for the next several weeks. DH is going to take out the remaining wall and paneling from our bedroom so BIL can spackle, sand, and get ready to work.

Tonight is trick or treat night for Jimmy in my dad's community. We may stay out for an hour or so, but that depends on his willingness to play along.

I hope all of you are well. I miss checking in regularly, but things here have been super crazy.

Happy belated birthday John!

Alice - I hope the shower went well! I can't wait to hear about it!

Good morning all! Someone forgot to tell Luke about the whole "fall back" thing, so I've been up for a few hours. I just had my tea, so at least now I can see straight, but I could use a nap.

Jill--Love the pictures of John. He's so cute! The messed up cake didn't seem to slow him down for any length of time!

GLT--Your kids are just adorable. They're so photogenic. It looks like you had a great time with the pumpkins. Enjoy the water park, and tell us all about it when you return. Sorry you're not feeling your best, but the good news is, the kids will likely tire themselves out from the swimming and sleep like logs. Here's hoping...

As far as the "messages from above"--I can only tell you what has happened with me. I don't get specific words or direct messages (except once), and I rarely even dream about my parents. But what happens is, I think really hard about what I want to find for the kids, and it turns up. For example, we were in NH visiting my MIL, and I went to the LL Bean factory outlet on Black Friday. I really wanted one of their sleds for Jocelyn (I think she was 1 and I was pregnant with Bert). Well, I was thinking about how I wanted this, and went in, and they had exactly one sled, and it was just the one I wanted. You have no idea how many times this has happened to me--I have incredible luck finding nice kids clothes at the factory outlet, Therese, that I mentioned, that makes high end holdiay clothes. Even thrift stores, I'll find exactly (exactly!) what I'm looking for. But it's always stuff for the kids. Another good example is, the weekend of my mother's funeral, I hit my favorite kid's consignment store in Mystic. You would not believe the nice things I got for the kids, and everything was 20% off because it was Memorial Day weekend and they were having a sale. just for my mom, I got Luke an outfit that said, "When God made me, he was just showing off!" My mom was very religious, and I'm not, but I KNEW she wanted him to have that outfit.

Okay, sorry to ramble.

fabumouse--I don't need a glacier in Iceland, I have DH's work! But yeah, you do have to wonder sometimes about the inequity of it all! That's too bad about the basement--ours flood occasionally, but we have a sump pump. It's also not a finished basement, so we don't keep much down there.

Tasha--Don't sweat the firefighter jammies--I was a firefighter/EMT in my carefree, childless days. You know, back when I could complete a thought. DH and I both were. If nothing else, consider it a good way to help her be comfortable with fire trucks--sometimes their size and noise can be intimidating to kids (including Celeste, who panics every time she hears sirens).

Robin--So glad the shower went well. I have a serious overbuying problem when it comes to friends, especially in Gymboree. I'm good with my own kids--they don't need stuff, they'll only stain it, whatever, but for someone else, I'm like, "They have to have the socks. And the hat. And look--a matching receiving blanket!"

joats--The biggest thing with my mom (as an adult) was, she loved my kids, but I couldn't let them see her a whole lot, because I wanted them to see the "good" side of her. So by limiting visits, she would always be "up" when she was around them. So they remember her as maybe a little eccentric, but don't have any clue on what she could be like on a bad day. I don't feel like I really knew her since she never stayed on her meds, so losing her is probably not what most people think of the devastation of losing their mom, if that makes sense.

Loretta--Good luck with your renonvations.

Another vote from me on hating the time change!! Luckily, the kids slept in longer than usual this morning, which was 6:45 regular time. DH was trying to explain to emma about Daylight savings time, she was like, uh, dad the sun's up get out of bed--Oh well! Hopefully, both of them will adjust quickly!

Jill--Great pictures--and I just have to mention that we got Matthew that same toy!!! It looks like John likes it, so I'm sure Matthew will as well!

GLT--Great pumpkins! We didn't carve ours (to warm and humid here, they would rot before Halloween) But Emma did finger paint them, I should take a picture!

Hillbeans--Glad gymnastics was such a success! Emma loves it as well, and she always seems to take a good nap on the day of her class-I told the coach that I wished the class would be at least 2 times per week, so I could get more of a break

Well, I know I"m not responding to all, but I'm trying to talk DH into going and getting coffee, donuts, and a paper. We went to church last night, so we can lounge around the house all day--but for some reason I let myself run out of coffee (I know a mortal sin in this house) so I really need him to get my fix for me! Have a great Sunday all!

We're so bad. We kept Lucas up a little later last night so he'd sleep in a little today.

We had to go to 2 Old Navys yesterday to get that coat. One of the clerks said they'd been selling really fast. Today we might go to the outlets but DH wants to watch a football game (he doesn't get to see his team play much because they're not local). I guess we'll play it by ear.

llij - Love the pictures! John is getting so big! Looks like he enjoyed his cake.

fab - Sorry to hear about your basement. We had a lot of rain yesterday but thankfully, no water in the basement.

Alice28 - Glad the shower was a success!

zalansky - Good luck looking at houses.

hillbeans - Glad Kevin enjoyed gymnastics. Sorry Liam woke up so many times.

glt - Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.

Tasha - I don't see anything wrong with girls wearing boys clothes. That said, I won't be putting Lucas in girls clothes. Sorry you had to cancel your WDW plans.

lissawynn - Your DH is doing a lot of work. Is that to speed to process up a little?

BnB - That's a sweet story about your mom and the outfit.

nucpharm - I could go for some coffee and donuts. All we have is the coffee so I'll have to settle for that. I don't need a donut anyway.

Sorry I cheated a little and only responded to the posts on the reply page. I knew I wouldn't have much time...and right on cue, Lucas is having a meltdown because I won't let him pull the cat's tail. Mean Mommy!

Well I have a few minutes while Henry's napping so hopefully I can catch up a bit. Count me in for those hating the time change. Henry was up for the day at 4:40!! He usually gets up around 5:30 for his breakfast then just stays up till we take Madison to school at 7:30 (well, 7:45 lately since it's been too cold to walk with Henry). I fed him and then put him back in his bed where he squealed himself back to sleep after an hour or so, but then was up ready for the day by 6:15. Short nap. Then Madison was up by 6:30 and only cause I purposely put her to bed later than normal last night.

The birthday party was fun. Well, for me anyway. Madison, well, I don't think she cared that she was there. Each 2yo was doing their own thing, as though they didn't even see the other kids there. Now I'd expect that normally, but this woman paid for a party company to come to entertain them and make them play games and stuff. I would have asked for my money back. Funny thing about the party is that the mom sent an email save the date, then the paper invitation a few days later, then an email reminder Friday. All this in less than 2 weeks. :confused3

My husband got out of work early so he came to the party (separately since we were already there) and he walked into the house, late and alone, dressed in scrubs, and the mom saw him and panicked and started saying stuff like "Sir I think you're in the wrong place. Can I help you?" I guess she thought he was some pedophile checking out a 2yo's birthday party. She sorta told him that after he said who he was, but in a nicer way. Then he got the joy of eating a tuna cookie :crazy2: . They're Italian (only moved here 3 years ago) so he was thinking all tasty desserts, but boy was he wrong!!

BnB - Congrats on the DVC points!! And isn't it funny how things like that work out? I kinda felt that way with Madison, who came almost a year earlier than planned, a year into my grad school program, and 3 months before my wedding. It was pretty much the worst time we could have had a baby, but her due date was 3/12, which was the number my grandmother played in the lottery everyday. And in that order too, 312, never 123 which would be the more normal way to do it. ;) So I took it as a sign that she was meant to be.

Fabumouse - After a lot of thought I decided I'd rather be on the glacier. :teeth: That really stinks that you had to do all that while he's off 'playing'. Gotta love the responsibilities of being a mommy! And thanks, glad to know Henry's not too far behind. I think I made him sound better than he is though. He's seriously like a newborn blob who's just now starting to open his eyes. He sleeps well though so I don't complain much. :thumbsup2

Joats - I hope Jace is doing better today. Poor little guy. Sorry you have to skip the Halloween party too.

Well Henry is up sooner than expected so I guess I'll have to come back later to finish up.

Staci- gosh, it sounds like your DH’s hand was hurt really badly. I’m glad his recovery is going well. I LOVE the story about your DS in the Tigger costume!

Tasha- isn’t it great making your own traditions? I like keeping many of the traditions
that my family has, but it’s fun making new ones too.

Nucpharm, Dizagain, Jill- I didn’t paint DD’s room, just the pumpkin! We were lucky enough to have that mural already painted on the wall when we moved in. The people we bought the house from had a four year old princess living in that room and had it professionally done. It was one of the things we fell in love with when we first saw the house.

Justhat- I’ve heard that when babies are born early you should really measure their development more by their due date in the beginning. A friend of ours has twins that came about 6-7 weeks early, and she felt the same way as you were talking about Henry.

GLT- YAY for the cat coming back! Last year my best friend lost his cat for a day too. We were so scared, but a couple of days later she was back. She was also pregnant!
I love the pictures. I like carving pumpkins, but I’m so clutzy, that it’s better to give me an activity that doesn’t involve a knife. I inevitably wind up with paint all over my hands when I do my pumpkin, but that’s pretty harmless.

Joats- Poor Jace.

BNB- Oh it’s so exciting that you’re buying into the DVC! Sometimes things happen for a reason. I bet your parents would be really proud that you’re going to spend the money for something that brings your family together.
Yes, babies change so much over the first year. I love how Olivia is turning from an infant into a real baby now.

Fabumouse- OMG about the flood! We’ve had a couple of floods in the past, and I remember how awful a cleanup process it was.
Sure, you can laugh about the carpet cleaner thing. I laugh about it now.
LOL about the backrub comment!!!

Jill- John is soooo cute! It’s amazing how much he’s grown.

Hillbeans- I can’t believe the Cards won the WS either. Blech! The Mets break our hearts every year without fail. I hope you got some good sleep.

Dizagain- I hear you about the fertility. DH and I got pregnant within one month of trying. I’m still breastfeeding and not on the pill now. My DH is paranoid though about getting me pregnant. Every time I start feeling tired and nauseous I get nervous.

The time change got me all out of whack too. Especially because our neighbor decided to throw a late night party last night, so I’m not even sure when I fell asleep. Olivia was up around 6 am. Luckily, we snuggled and she went back to sleep, and she’s actually STILL asleep. Go figure! I’m going upstairs in a few minutes to make sure she’s ok!!!

I found out that a local radio station is throwing a kids party near us. It’s at a small amusement park and the rides and trick or treating is FREE. I have soooo much to do today, but I can’t resist free rides and candy. So my mom is bringing over the little ones and we’re going over there. It’s another excuse to get Olivia in her Kermit costume too.

It’s super-windy here today (50mph winds expected), so I have to make sure DD doesn’t blow away. OK, I have to pack up the diaper bag and check on Olivia. The rest of my post will have to wait until later.

Hi everybody :sunny: ,

I was all set to spend some serious time catching up on this thread and replying yesterday when our power went out for the day :sad2: . So, instead of Dising I napped :) . We finally got the power back around 8 after 5 hours off. It was a horrible weather day here so I'm sure that was the problem. We had sideways rain and blown down tree limbs -- the whole deal.

First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN :bday: !!!! I'm sorry I'm late. It looks like he had a wonderful day, Jill. I hope the party goes great today.

Staci,
I'm glad your dh's hand is healing nicely. Sounds like a scary incident.

GLT,
Have fun at the waterpark. I hope everyone has a great time and stays healthy. Great pics of the kids and pumpkins :) .

Joats,
Poor Jace :( . I hope he is feeling better today :grouphug: . I hope you are as well.

SL,
Hope you make it to the outlets today. Sounds like scrapping was fun. My house is always way too messy for impromptu get togethers ;) .

BNB,
Congrats on DVC! It definitely sounds like it was meant to be .

Tasha,
Too weird about the daycare lady and bm. She sounds a bit off to me :rolleyes1 . Sorry about canceling the trip but it sounds like it's the right thing to do.

WDWBetsy,
I'm sure you will love taking your little princess: to Disney. As others have pointed out it's probably a lot easier to take her at this age than as a toddler.

Robin,
Sounds like the shower was a success :) !

fabumouse,
You always crack me up :rotfl: . I hope the basement issue is fixed.

Lissawynn,
Ugh. I hope they get your house back together in record time. I'm sure it will be fantastic when it's finished :) .

Loretta,
Good luck with the house hunting :) .

GM,
Wow! That sounds like a really neat Halloween event you are going to. Have fun!

Hi to Nucpharm, Justthat, Hillbeans, Diskim, Dizagain, and everyone I'm forgetting  .

We were supposed to take the kids trick or treating on Main Street here yesterday but the sunami like weather put an end to that plan. We did make it to dh's Halloween company party which is thankfully held inside. That was really neat and the kids had fun. Unfortunately since we had no power and it was really dark outside I had no way of really primping to leave the house. When we got back home and I looked in the mirror I realized just how yucky I looked  . Oh well.

Today we were supposed to go to a birthday party but I think we are skipping it. DS had to come home sick from school on Friday because of an ear infection and I have the tail end of a migraine. Plus truthfully I just don't want to go. So I will call and give the above excuses and conveniently forget that we were all fine to go out yesterday to the work party ;) .

In other news I am completely in love the with the imaginary friends Gymbo line  . It's a good thing I didn't check this thread of Friday because I'm sure I would have been begging someone for their 25% coupon and Dh would have throttled me :rolleyes1 . I hope there will still be some stuff in Katrina's size left when it goes on sale.

Well, I suppose I should go and call the birthday party to let them know we can't make it. I hate making calls like this but the idea of staying home just sounds so appealing. Plus, this person literally invites about 150 people to her kids birthday parties so it's not like we will make that much difference if we don't show. Talk to you all later.

Quick note before we head out - I have a bunch of Similac and Good Start coupons if anyone here wants them. Just let me know and I'll mail them out before we leave on Wednesday.

Morning! DH never did wake up with Carson crying 2 feet away from him... But he did let me go back to sleep this morning for two hours which was really, really nice.

We're cleaning out the garage today - sounds like fun. We need to figure out where we can dump stuff or the cleaning will be pointless as everything will just be in a big pile but still sitting there. Hannah is mad once again because we didn't let her spend the night with a little girl we have never met. They wanted to take her to her "dad's friend's Halloween party" so the little girl would have a kid to play with. Um, we don't know the parents, don't know the parents friends, and don't really want her at an adult Halloween party without us. BUT WHY????? she continues to ask. Picture my head beating against the wall over and over and over and over...

Justhat - I'll pm you and see if I'm first to want the Similac - thanks for the offer! Glad the party was interesting - tuna cookies? :confused3

val - sorry about the power outage - it's a pain, and I've had lots of experience with it lately. I'm actually making a box of even extra, EXTRA flashlights, candles, and lighter because it happens way too often and winter is coming. I think chucking the outings today and chilling at home sounds awesome!

ginamarie - what luck with getting the ready-made princess room!! Have fun at the festival today! I broke down and got Carson the Old Navy frog costume yesterday as it's supposed to be so cold on Tuesday. SO I have a little froggy too!

Oh. Carson is awake again. Can't win, but it's definitely my turn since DH had him all morning. I'll hopefully finish up later!

Justhat,
I meant to say I hope you have a wonderful trip in case I don't get back here before you leave  .

Dizagain,
I should probably make an emergency box of supplies for power outages too. It seems like I'm always running around trying to find stuff when the power goes out  . Any news on the job transfer?

GM,
I meant to say too that I love the princess room (and the pics of your little princess too princess: ). When ds saw the room he asked me if that could be Katrina's new room :teeth: .

I actually got the answering machine at the party house so even better than having to talk to someone in person. I know I'm bad but sometimes just hanging at home is nice.

We have a lot of cleaning to get done around here. It's nice that we have the extra hour today because I don't feel like I've wasted too much of the day being lazy.

Another mom who is not happy with the time change, checking in.

Except I am not sure it had anything to do with the time change. Molly was just a BEAR last night. I'm honestly not sure exactly how many hours of sleep I got, but it wasn't many. She had me practically hanging off the side of the bed, and I must have had my neck torqued all weird, cause it's killing me this AM. Finally at about 5 I said to DH, "Please go make her a bottle and put her in her bed- I can't do this anymore!" He said, "I didn't even know she was in bed with us!"

I need to go do the pregnancy test at the hospital this morning, Target, the mall to return something, and then home. My parents are bringing over pizza for dinner.

Val~ What a pain about the power outages. Sounds like you N Easterners have had some really yucky weather! I just glanced at Gymbo's new line- I need to go look closer again. ;) I hope your migraine goes away for good soon.

lissawynn~ Wow, your life is definitely turned upside down right now- I will keep you in my thoughts and hope that the remodel can be done quickly and efficiently!

Justhat~ tuna cookies? :confused3

Diz- Sorry your girls are giving you such a hard time right now. How do they feel about moving? Do you think maybe they are acting out because of that possibility? Or is it just preteen/teen angst in general? I do not look forward to all that! I'm sure I will get my fill of it!

GM~ have fun at the Halloween party! Take a pic of Olivia in her Kermie costume!

Tasha~ I think it's fine for Kylie to have firetruck jammies! Sorry you aren't able to go to WDW next year; just think how easy it will be for you guys to go when you have a great paying job that pays big bucks!

BNB~ I love it when things happen like what you described when shopping. :goodvibes

GLT~ I forgot to wish you a happy time at the hotel tonight! I hope your family has a great time together!

SL- Glad you were able to find the coat you wanted for Lucas! We kept the kids up late last night too- the boys slept great, and Molly slept til 8:20, but as I mentioned, was up half the night. She better take an A+ nap today!

Well, it looks like it's time for me to scoot. Wish me luck taking the stupid pregnancy test while dragging all 3 kids with me- and that it's NEGATIVE. It should be- we've had two 'oopses' since the Depo wore off, but I know I haven't ovulated yet. Or I don't think I have anyway.... :rolleyes1 DH had to go into work this morning, otherwise the kids would be staying home.

Have a good Sunday!

A quick question-

Anyone take their kids to that Nick Hotel in Orlando before? We are considering surprising the boys with a night there our last night. You know, pretend we are on our way to the airport, but go there instead for one night. Mostly because Southwest really has good price differences in their flights between Friday (the day we are planning on coming home) and a Saturday- like the price it would cost for another hotel night and dinner. (usually a $50-60 per person decrease if we fly out on Sat. vs. Fri). Plus everytime they see that commercial on Nick, they want to go. Is it a good hotel? I just would have to make sure my parents would want to do it too; they might think it's a bit lame, but I plan on talking it up to them by saying, "You guys can take the van and drive up to Universal and spend the evening at City Walk and Margaritaville!" (They are mild parrotheads).

We'll see.

Just popping in to answer Robin's question about the Nick hotel in Orlando..... Good friends of ours stayed there this past May and really enjoyed it! They have two boys and a girl and the kids really got a kick out of the theming of the place. I'm sure your boys will love it. What a great surprise if you decide to go. :goodvibes

Anyway, I better go finish getting ready for John's party. Company will be here in an hour and I still need to pick up.

I'll catch up with you all later! :wave2:

Robin,

A few kids at DD and DS's school have stayed at the Nick Hotel and they all had a great time. The only complaint I heard was that it was noisy but that is to be expected at the Nick hotel. I would go ahead and do it. You'll have fun and it will be great to surprise the kids.

I have to say that the little girl on the Gymboree website that has the new Imaginary Friends outfit on reminds me of Molly.

I'm glad the shower was a success!

Good luck with the PG test today. I hope it is negative. I remember how nervous I was waiting for my first one after the Essure. DH and I weren't exactly careful. I still laugh every time I think of the look on his face when I walked out of my first HSG and told him both my tubes were still wide open. The poor guy.

Not much to report here today. I'm glad DH pulled out of the Ironman because he is sicker than a dog!!! Kona is a little bit sick, too.

I just called and was able to apply the room only code to our reservation for AKL in December and saved over $100. YIPPEE!

I was starting to question if we should go or not. I always second guess vacations. It drives DH nuts. I start thinking about buying furniture or other things that will last forever with the money instead. Does anyone else do that? DS really wants a new computer and we could buy him one with what we are going to spend at AKL.

Plus, I really want to go to the beach soon and AKL isn't exactly the beach. Samantha Brown was at the :LaPlaya resort over in Naples on Great Hotels this morning. I really want to go there!!!

I've got to share a proud mommy moment. I helped with a Halloween activity in DS's classroom the other day. He LOVES TO READ. So does DD. I just can't take books out of their hands. They have a program at school called Reading Counts. They get points for every book they read. DS just finished a great book the other day-Eragon- and took a test on it and he has read over 800,000 words since the beginning of the school year. If he gets to 1 million again then he gets to go in a limo to a special activity at the end of the year. That's why I really want to buy him a computer. He never asks for anything and does so well in school. DD is doing so well, too. I hope they can keep it up through middle and high school. The middle school here is kind of awful. It is so crowded and I don't hear many good things about it. I'm hoping that what I hear is wrong and it is okay. We could apply to the private school here but it is really expensive and they probably wouldn't let the kids in because I had my pants on inside out when we went to tour the place. :teeth: :rotfl:
