The Official LOST Season Five *No Spoilers* Thread

Maybe Olivia dies and Amy is there (maybe after also losing Paul) to comfort him?
Don't forget that Olivia is alive to teach Ben and Annie on the island. And since it doesn't appear that Ben has arrived on the island before Amy and Horace's baby is born. Chances are that Olivia is alive and well.

My confusion comes over the hair. It looks to me like Ben's birth is in the early 60s, and Horace has short hair. When Ben arrives at the island, Horace's hair is above the shoulders, and remains that way until he dies. I'm assuming the hair growth is progressive and he's not getting cuts at the island barbershop.

Now I can't remember, but how long is Horace's hair when Locke encounters him as a ghost building the cabin?

I have a hard time believing the writers are forgetting something. They've been fairly good about sticking to the story and I can't imagine that they're cheating here.

It's just the hair that's tripping me up!

Oh, his hair is the same shoulder length when he's building the cabin in the woods as a ghost (been watching some Youtube this morning  ).

So, again, the writers kept his hair the same length from season 3, when we first met Horace, to season 4 when we saw him as a ghost.

This is killing me! I wanna know and I wanna know now!

OK, I came back to catch up and noticed talk of spoilers that were leaked and repaired. I just want to be sure it is safe for me now to go back and read that last few pages or so that I've missed with out reading a spoiler? I'm one that hates them so I don't want to accidentally run one over. Just let me know if it's safe or what to avoid if anything. Thanks!

There is a quasi-spoiler two pages back. But it is hidden (written in white letters) so you have to highlight it in order to read it. I personally wouldn't consider it a spoiler though that is why i called it quasi.

Ben's birth - Short hair
1974-1977 - He's grown it out and is keeping it extra long.
Ben arrives - He's cut a couple inches off.

Makes since to me. :)

Yeah, it does, the timing still doesn't work. Ben was supposedly born in the early 60s (makes sense -- look at the clothing styles, the type of car Horace was driving, and Lostpedia says that as the time period).

He seemed to have arrived at the island as an adolescent -- 12/13 somewhere around that age. That would make it the mid-70s when he arrived.

IMO, he *should* already be there on the island as a child. But Sawyer and company would know it. I guess it's possible they do, and they're going to spring it on us later.

I hope there's a good explanation for this.

I agree. Ben should be on the island or at the very least should arrive soon. Also, Widmore is there with the 'natives' and is their leader. Should be interested to see what conflict there was between Ben and Widmore. :rolleyes1

I just checked and the title of tonight's show is "NAMASTE". I predict it is going to be about that Asian guy who does all of the orientation films and his son...Miles!

NAMASTE is welcome in some language. It's the banner they have hanging over the dock for the submarine when the new recruits arrive. It's what everyone says to all the newbies when they show up. It was there when Ben and his Father first came to the island. I think tonight is about how they are going to try and intigrate Hurley, Jack, and Kate into Dharma so they can "hide out" in the open the way Sawyer, Jin, Julliette, Miles, and maybe Faraday have been hiding out for the years from 1974 till 1977.

Namaste is also what mr candle said at the end of the orientation films. :thumbsup2

Namaste is an Indian greeting literally meaning " I bow to you". My yoga teacher says it at the end of every session! While rewatching season 2 the first film that Locke finds says that the Dharma Initiative was started in the 60's with I think people communally living on the island starting in 1970. So it would make sense in the whole hippie way of things for this to be their greeting.

Claire's boyfriend (and Aaron's dad) -Thomas was an artist. One of his paintings was in Widmore's office when Desmond visited him.

Below left is a picture of Thomas with his painting from season 1. And right is when we recently saw Des in Widmore's office.

Nice catch!

If Charles Widmore knows Eloise Hawking, why doesn't he ask her the way to find the Island?

What ever happened to Emma and Zach? The two kids from the tail section of flight 815 that were abducted by the others?

Why doesn't Richard age?

What eyeliner does Richard use? It never leaves marks under his eyes?

Richard gave the compass to Locke during one of the flashes. THen Locke gives it to Richard in 1954. Where did the compass come from?

What did the others do with Paul's body?

So many questions. Not enough answers. That is why I love this show!!
