The Official LOST Season Five *No Spoilers* Thread

But how could Juliette be Annie? Didn't she first go to the island as a doctor? Surely she would have known if she had been there as a child? :confused3
Yeah, but when has LOST ever been logical? 'Anything goes' on this show.

I don't really put too much stock in this, but it occurred to me last night after reading some of the recent posts that perhaps Juliette was Annie. Remember when Ben called her "his"?

I miss the smoke monster.

That was my thought too (and of course with this show being so dang complex, I forgot about that until this moment!!!!!!!!!!!!)

'Lost': So what's up with Jin?
By Maria Elena Fernandez
February 6, 2009

It was the sigh of relief heard 'round the “Lost” universe: Jin is alive! He's alive!

When “Lost” viewers last saw Daniel Dae Kim’s Jin, he was standing on a freighter that exploded, as his wife, Sun, watched from a helicopter. Viewers immediately related to Sun's hysterical reaction, delivered by Yunjin Kim. Certainly, Jin would not have been the first "Lost" character to be mourned by fans. But Jin and Sun, the Korean couple who were about to become parents, seem to have touched Losties in a way that made it impossible to begin the grieving process.

The producers assured fans last season that Jin would be seen again -- in life or death. (That's just the way "Lost" rolls.) But those promises didn't go far enough because fans wanted a Jin-Sun reunion.

Nine months later -- in viewer time -- it was revealed Wednesday that Jin survived the explosion, prompting the "Lost" cult to immediately light up message boards and forums with their joy.

My computer has been in the shop since Lost started again, so am just now contributing to this thread--hope it's ok to chime in at this late date!

regarding the smoke monster: I noticed that when the plane went down above Locke a couple of episodes ago, that the smoke trailing it looked like the smoke monster. I'm wondering if the plane carrying drugs brought the smoke monster with it.... remember Eko sacrificing himself to it and his brother was in the plane. The "others" put the wall up to keep it out and I remember Ben saying he didn't know what it was (he may not have been telling the truth). So, it may not have anything to do with them. Just a thought!

I think the Others, especially Ben, have control over it. Remember when he sent it out after the mercenaries? OR does Ben just know what sets it off and knew it would be coming after them? Now I have no idea.

I can't believe I am just now finding this thread. Hello to all my new lostie friends :worship:

Thanks for the welcome Camster.

HEre are some of my theories (some have already been said and I am just agreeing with)

Juliet=Annie (Ben's childhood friend)
crazy hooded lady writing equations on the chalkboard = Eloise = Daniel's mom and yes I beleive that Whidmore is his dad

Remember when Richard said to Locke that they had a selection process for selecting their leaders and it started at a young age? Well I think that Whidmore was in training to be the leader at that time. Something happened during the Dharma initiative where there was a falling out between Whidmore and the others and so Richard approached Ben to be the new leader and we know the rest of the story.

I am still confused about Jacob? Still have no idea who (what) he is. Why he was calling for Locke to help him? And what Jacob's connection is to Jack's dad and Claire?

Miles & Charlotte had to have been on the island at some point. But perhaps too young to remember or they are lying.

just my thoughts

Aren't Jacob and Jack's dad the same? Did we ever really see Jacob clearly enough to know for sure? Because that would explain his attachment to Claire, too.

Seriously, I think the final episode of this series is literally going to blow minds. I know my mind is already blown and I don't know half there is to know!

Welcome to the discussion. I too love lost and ownall four seasons on DVD.

On the Anne=Charlotte thing, I think that was discussed earlier and I for one came out on the side that she is not Anne. Although some of my reasons can certainly be discounted, here they are.

Age, Charlotte seems a little young to be Ben's age.
Accent, while they can change Anne was 10 to 12 years old when she knew Ben as a child and while it could change to being British that was a really big change.
Memory, if they were the same person Charlotte in all probability should have a memory of her time on the island but so far it seems that her prior time on the island was when she was very young and she left before she formed much memory at all.
The EYES, as I said earlier maybe its the new LCD tv but maybe its just a twist the producers threw in to confuse us but Charlotte has the most piercing blue eyes I have ever seen. Anne had dark eyes (I went back and looked)

As far as Miles go I think he is the baby from the first episode of this season when the orientation guy wakes up and his wife tells him it's his turn.

I also think that Hawkings is Faraday's Mother by way of Widmore. Daniel's comment to the young Eloise when asked why do you keep looking at me, was I sorry you look like someone I know. That does it for her being his Mother for me, but the Widmore thing may be a stretch but then again in the time travel to 1954 they were the only two speaking with a British accent so there is that.

Are they the same? :confused3 I guess I missed that?

Whoever he is why did he moan to Locke to 'help' him? Was Ben (or something / somebody else) somehow keeping him there?

No I thought it was determined that Jack's dad wasn't Jacob. He talked to Locke in the cabin but I thought he said he was speaking for Jacob.

And I like the theory about Whidmore originally being chosen as the next leader and then Ben getting the gig. Would explain their hatred and fighting over the island.

Did anything important get discussed between Sun and her mom? Our local station had a scroll bar at the bottom during the conversation so we couldn't read what was spoken.

No - her mom just asked when she was coming home. Sun told her she was almost finished with what she was there to do in LA and would be on a flight soon. The mom said "there is someone here wants to speak to you" and put Sun's daughter on the phone.

Wow! What a great episode...I yelled when it ended! They always cut it off right when it's getting good.

So if Sun goes back to the island....is she leaving her daughter behind for good?
