The *OFFICIAL JUNE 2011 THREAD* "Some Like it Hot" & Some Like it Even Hotter! Part 2

Happy Father's Day to all dads on the June thread!

It's getting closer. :woohoo: This is such a busy week in our house so I'm hoping the time flies by. Packing is all finished and the luggage is lined up ready to go.

All of the good clothes are packed so we'll be wearing whatever is left over. The outfits this week should be "interesting." We are also trying to finish up whatever is in the refrigerator so our meals will need to become more creative as the week goes on. In fact our Disney Dinner this year is going to be pancakes and scrambled eggs.

Everyone leaving this week...have a great, safe trip. This banana's for you!!

Maybe we will see you around. I think we share a ADR time somewhere along the way. Have a wonderful trip if you don't check in again! :cool1: :wizard:

Hi Junies!!

We got back from a wonderful vacation on Wed, but due to computer issues I'm just now getting back to the boards.

Our vacation was so wonderful! It was crazy busy and crazy hot, but still one of the best vacations in the 10 years we have been going!

Our resort, CSR, was beautiful and the CM's there are wonderful. Our room at CSR was exactly where I requested and we were literally about 6 steps from the quiet pool-about 10 steps total and we were IN the pool! It was wonderful for when we wanted to swim, not so good at 11:30 PM when kids were playing Marco Polo and we wanted to sleep :rotfl: Still, we were usually tired enough that the noise wasn't an issue. And I think there must have been a magical bus fairy with us the entire trip because only 1 time in 10 days did we ever wait more than 15 minutes for a bus. Most of the time it was just pulling in as we were walking up at both the parks and the resort. Twice I saw all four park busses at our stop-I've never witnessed that before.

We got to do a tour at AK and were very up close and personal with White Rhinos-so cool! Also did the Segway tour at Epcot-I just cannot say enough that if you ever get the chance to do the Segway tour-DO IT!! I really wasn't sure I'd even be able to stand up on it, much less ride it, but there I was zipping around World Showcase like I was born on it! It was just so much fun.

And boy did we eat :faint: I will be posting more details and pictures on my dining review after I get my pictures uploaded.

One of my favorite things was getting to meet toomanycars and his very beautiful family- to toomanycars- They were all very nice :flower3:

I think I covered all of the Photo Safari also-can't wait to get over there and post my pics.

There was a bounceback offer in the room and we couldn't resist calling to see if it was a good deal. DH and I decided that we would love to see the Christmas lights and booked for November. So yep, we are booked for November 27-Dec 3. I'm not sure that we will be sticking to that, we looked into a Disney cruise and found that we could get a 7 night cruise for just a little bit more than the bounceback. Right now, we are leaning towards the cruise since we've never done that before.

We were all very tired and worn out when we got home and after 10 days we were happy to see home and our fur babies.

Welcome home to everyone who is getting home!

And Bon Voyage to those who are leaving soon!

2 more sleeps!!! I'm kinda sad the time is almost here! I know it is going to fly by. But I need to focus on the now and having a great time!!! Tomorrow is massive packing day. I have the kids' stuff all baggied up. I am rewashing all of scott's and my shirts. We have a front loader washer and they are known for sometimes creating stinky clothes. My MIL hasn't been leaving the washer open, and few loads have been left in too long. All the shirts smell sour. So, I ran several bleach cleans and am hoping for the best. It's really not fun to feel stinky at WDW! We will be packing the car tomorrow night and then will be leaving on Tuesday afternoon! Yay!

For my PTR readers, I'm posting this update on there too. Too tired to think of anything original!!! :thumbsup2

Hope to run into you and your family in the World. We are gearing up too. Every time we get ready to get in the car, my kids ask if we are going to Disney now? It's been a long wait for two little kids.

HOORAY!!!! One more day!! We leave first thing in the morning for our first stay at Wilderness Lodge. I have so much to do today, I have no business being on the Boards right now - but I am too excited to clean right now. I just need a little Disney Fix, then back to cleaning and packing. Taking DD and her BFF for pedicures later, then off to the gym. Last ditch effort to look good at the pool - any chance I could loose five more pounds by tomorrow?:lmao: :rotfl2: Well there is really no more food in the house - couple of yogurts and two apples in the fridge, lol. Ordering pizza for the kids tonight.

I hope everyone here has a wonderful vacation - happy and safe trips to all of you - thanks to all of you - especially Anjalee and TooManyCars for making the anticipation sooooo much fun!!

Woo Hoo! Only one more day! At this time tomorrow we'll be at the airport!:)

We're doing the Segway tour on Thursday...can't wait!

3 more days until we arrive at OKW for the first time...so excited :yay: I am going to attempt a dining review since this trip we seem to have more ADR's than normal...our ADR's include the following:

Tusker House for lunch at AK

Olivia's for breakfast at OKW

Ohana's for breakfast at Poly

Portabello for dinner at DTD

The Plaza for lunch in MK

50's Prime Time for lunch in DHS

Earl of Sandwich for lunch in DTD - No ADR needed but have not been here in two trips...looking forward to going back

Of course whatever other Counter Service we eat at I will try and review. Off to finish packing :thumbsup2

We just went to the mall to buy Disney gift cards for the kids to use on vacation and GASP.....the Disney Store is closing and they have no more gift cards. The closest one now is going to be in VA. We only live 25 minutes from the VA state line, but geez, I am not driving all the way down there from now on. Guess I will have to buy things on line from now on. That really stinks.

We did some last minute errands today. We still need to go to the bank and things like that, but we are basically done. I just have to finish packing and then Thursday we are out of here!

I still have a few more things to get too. I'm taking care of that as soon as "Letters to Juliet" is over and I get my shower.

BTW, I know a few of you Junies are going into July. In case you didn't know, MK is now opening at 8 AM on July 4th and starting July 2nd DHS will have two shows every night of Fantasmic!

We just got back on Saturday from a great trip! Only a few hiccups here and there. I'll try to write more later when I have more time. Our biggest issues were w/food: 1)At Crystal Palace we found steel wool in our french toast and at Sci-Fi I had paper in my desert, 2) At Captain Cooks, the cashier entered DH's pager number wrong so it took over an hour to get his food. She entered 56 when his pager # was 65. We weren't the only ones. She did this for 4 other ppl.
On both accounts, I am writing Disney about it b/c I feel like our concerns were just kind of dismissed both at the restaurant and at Guest Relations. Here are a few things I have learned:
1) always bring people that will tour as hard as you will or be willing to say I'm going to go back to the room to relax
2) it's ok to not go to a park everyday
3) grand mariner slushie + turkey leg + heat = spending an evening in the bathroom at Epcot.

Hope everyone else that is there or on their way has a great trip!!

Having gotten sick from turkey before, I always assume the worst. I hope you are feeling better. Sorry you had some dining issues but glad that most everything else worked out okay.

I am glad that overall you had a good trip. Sorry that you had some food issues. Did they at least compensate you in some way?

Note to self...stay away from Turkey legs this trip! :thumbsup2

Crystal Palace gave us a priorty fast pass, Captain Cooks offered to credit our dining plan back but DH said not to worry about it and Sci Fi only offered me another dessert that I did not want. When I complained at Guest Services, they gave me a coupon for a free popcorn and 2 sodas. I really think they should have comped those 2 meals. Had I dined somewhere else, I don't think I would have paid for those meals. I was too tired and hot to fight at that point and I'm not really a complainer. Sci Fi put me over the edge, the waiter just didn't really care and this was now the second time I found something in my food. The rest of the week I was disecting everything I ate.

Yeah, I think the fact that it happened more than once would have set e over the edge too. I'm sorry about that.

Time to get on it! Lol I didn't start packing until yesterday so I am not that far ahead of you.

I'm starting to pack, but I'm finding stains on the kids good clothes!!!!:scared1: I HATE stains! They make me feel like a bad mother. If I could bleach everything I would.

I want to be finished with laundry and packing tomorrow. The kids could wear their ratty clothes for the rest of the week.
