~~**The Official January 2014 Group**~~

You can only make 3 FP+ reservations a day, so I'm thinking it won't be a big issue. Just spread them out so you guys can all do everything together (and you wait while they go in to do the big stuff).

That's true. So, we only get 3 per family or 3 per person? Because if it's 3 per person, can I use one of mine to get us a character FP (for example)? It just gets confusing if your whole group is not doing the same thing.

Guess it really doesn't matter that much. I'm way more grumpy at home, which is why this is probably bothering me more than it should. Once I'm in the world, I'll be loving life and not caring as much!! :) 83 Days!!!!!

No it's three INDIVIDUAL fast passes per person per day.

So if you chose to take a fastpass of yours to go to a character meet and greet then your other 2 people took it for Soarin. You'd be going alone in the FP line for the meet and then you'd be waiting at the exit for the 2 to get off Soarin.

So in January does everyone at every Disney resort get MB? Or only some? We are staying at the cabins at FW in like 85 days and have no options for choosing MB colors. I know most say under 70 and they were allowed? I also heard they won't mail them to canadians so do we pick them up at at our resort?

My plan is to still continue to hit rope drops and hit some of the bigger headliners then. Whether I park hop or not, I will use my FP+ for the afternoons when wait times are longer and will probably be able to use some for Fantasmic, Wishes and possibly Lion King (based on availability) to avoid having to get there early for a seat or to stake out a spot.

K, kinda new here. What is rope drops? When using for Fantasmic, is that just for a place to sit that is closer, and Lion King? Thanks!

Rope Drop is park opening. I have found you'll do more 8-12 than 12-8. There are so many less people. Only downside, setting an alarm on vacation ;-)

We are 64 days away from our trip (yay!), hoping we can start making our FP+ at 60 days. We'll see.

As far as FP+ planning goes, we will be arriving on 1/1, but not hitting the parks until 1/2. We are early WDW risers and will always arrive by rope drop and we will do AM EMH.

So, we should be making our FP+ "reservations" for around midday, with the hopes of hitting the same rides we will FP+ (i.e. space mountain, RnR, Soarin' etc.) when are arrive first thing in the morning with shorter lines, right?

I figure, if the lines end up being long first thing in the AM for the popular rides, we'll just hit some of the secondary or tertiary rides that don't have wait times that are as long.

The FP+ threads are so long, I figured this thread was a safe place to ask this question. I don't mind this FP+ concept at all (yet), I am an insane planner. Thanks!

That's EXACTLY my plan :) So I think it's a good one. lol :rotfl2: January is typically less crowded and if you're willing to get up early and be there for rope drop you'll be able to hit those big rides in the am and then stop for a nice lunch and use your FP+ in the afternoon!

Not exactly sure. So far it seems like no one past January 5th has been able to customize. So for now it's a 'wait and see' kind of deal. :surfweb: Ya know, obsessively checking the website for the "customize" information!

Once it's available you'll see the colours. And yes as of last month (last thread I read) Canadians are still able to customize but will get their MBs at the front desk when checking in. Not sure if that will change after 'testing' is done or not. I hope so. One of the benefits is using the MB to check in for the Magical Express bus at the airport. Which we of course can't do if we don't have them yet.

We arrive on 1/2 so make sure you come & tell us if you are able to make FP+ selections at 60 days! I can then spend 24hrs getting insanely excited before I do mine! We have a similar plan to you - we plan on rope drops and early EMH - we then sometimes park hop so will use our FP+ for our 2nd park of the day. I'm in two minds about FP+ - whilst it's going to be great to have our favourites "in the bag" - we have multi-FP the same rides in the past and now won't be able to do that. We'll see - very excited about our trip though! We are staying at a resort we've never been to, and we have free dining and have not done the DP before so lots of new things for us to try this time!

I want to join the facebook group but trip is a surprise and my kids will see if i join on facebook:(

or is there a way where they will not see?

I believe it's a "closed" group so no one should see, but hopefully someone with greater expertise will chime in :)

we are staying at the swan and dolphin - DH has a conference there and that is where they put him up. I am wondering how we will utilized FP+ some say S&D isn't eligible, but most say it is, they just dont know when? anyone have valid disny info? Wondering if I should call Disney, according to the website you can book swan and dolphin through the regular reservation number, so hopefully they would know.

Thank you!!! also, for anyone who reads this S&D will use FP+ in the future but not during testing - I should have asked how long testing is going on for? Disney wants the conference crowds, but they don't get the same perks - kinda yucky!! maybe next yr his Co should look elsewhere - a friend just came back that didnt get their fp+'s, said she didnt know, but I told her! lol - and by the time they arrived at the parks most were all gone for the things they wanted them for. :(

Hi everyone,

10 weeks tomorrow until my trip! :cool1:

The focus of this trip for me will be the half marathon - so I hadn't thought too much about Magic Bands or Fast Pass + ... however, today I had an email from WDW Travel International (I bought our tickets through the UK website) - so that I am now able to link our tickets with our reservation. I'm hoping this means we'll be eligible for the new system too! :wizard:

Emma princess: x

Good question! I really need to give this some thought.

Anyone have a plan for how to handle your family wanting different rides?? I can't ride the bigger rides, but DS and DH will want to ride them. I don't want to ride alone on the other rides. Just looking for some advice. It's supposed to be all about family time, right?! (I swear I'm trying to stay positive... I LOVE wdw... This is the part that gets me a little sad about FP+.)

This is exactly what I have read too. That you get individual FP choices for everyone in your group. So if three of you want to ride Soarin and two want to do character spot instead, you can schedule FP+ individually.

I just wonder how FP+ and rider swap work?
