What is this FP tier???? You can't just pick any 3 rides you want for that day??

As of right now, it seems they are doing another FP+ test at EPCOT. The testing goes through 12/29, but if you are making FP+ selections for EPCOT now, even for early January, you can only select 1 headliner (Soarin' or Test Track or Maelstrom, and there may be 1 other headliner on the list). And you can pick 2 non-headliner (Seas with Nemo, Living with the Land, etc.)

The Maelstrom as a headliner is cracking me up! :rotfl:

A fast pass for nemo??? or anything else that's not a headliner are rides that I have always just walked right onto. Then again I always go during the "dead" times. Seems dumb to do it that way, it's a waste of a fast pass.

Edit: I am one of those people who probably took advantage of only one fast pass per day, so at the end of the day the only way this will benefit me, is I won't feel the need to make the mad dash to get a pass for something I really want to ride. So I guess I'm indifferent... But fast pass for nemo??? LMAO

I can't agree more. Hopefully they'll realize that it makes no sense and by January the tiers at EPCOT will go away.

I sat down this morning with the touring plans I have and tried to book times based off of that. So, I ended up changing almost all of my FP+. After staying up late last night and struggling with MDE. :rolleyes2 Of course, now that I've mucked them up even more, I've got multiple FP+ showing up in my itinerary that aren't "really" there. I hope that tomorrow when I log in again, things look better. Wishful thinking??

Anyone want to take a look at my touring plans? I wasn't going to make FP+ for the morning because I didn't want to "waste" them but since this is our first trip as a family, I don't know what our touring "style" will be but we are definitely early risers. I think we'll be afternoon break people. I made most of my FP+ for a few rides in the morning and then one "headliner" in the afternoon or evening that we can hit again if we want to ride again without the wait. This list below is basically easywdw recommended touring plan with a few tweaks.

This is for me, DH, DD6, DS4, my mom and my dad

Magic Kingdom Day One
Friday Jan 3rd
Buzz Space Ranger Spin
Space Mtn (? if DH wants to ride)
Astro Orbiter
Winnie the Pooh FP+ 10-11 am
Barnstormer
Dumbo
Tea Cups
Haunted Mansion FP+ 11a-12pm
IISW
Carrousel
Philharmagic
Buzz FP+ 1-2pm (In case we want to ride again?)

Magic Kingdom Day Two
Mon. Jan 6
Peter Pan
Little Mermaid
BTMRR FP + 10:20-11:20
Magic Carpets
Pirates FP+ 11:20-12:20
lunch
ETWB FP+ 7pm-8pm

I don't have many rides planned out for day 2. I imagine there will be things we'll want to do again, etc. We have an early dinner at BOG at 4:45 and then I was thinking we could do ETWB after that but before the fireworks? Too much?

Any advice is appreciated!

Just curious... Did it give you options for the fireworks or parade? I'm fairly new here so I'm not sure what ETWB or BTMRR stands for.

Nope, no parade or fireworks. I was interested in the fireworks and tried to get it to appear as an option but they seem to have removed that choice. I would also note that Ariels grotto was greyed out as an option, like it would be down for refurb.

This trip in January is going to be a birthday surprise for my grand daughter, its a good thing she doesn't know. You can imagine how crazy she would drive us if she knew. I only wish I didn't know, as the rest of the family is already tired of hearing how excited I am. This is the price they pay for having me book the trip :rotfl2:

Same thing for me!! Surprise for my daughter and son - 15 and 2 and I can hardly stand it!!! We tell them Christmas morning and leave 1/1. My sweet husband should get a reward for how much he has to hear!!

Oh Boo! I really am hoping to try and watch wishes in the fastpass area. Last trip I had fastpasses for Fantasmic and it was excellent seating!

Just planned a last minute trip to Disney on Jan 2 and Jan 3. We are going to Universal on Dec. 31, Jan 1 maybe even Dec.30 that afteroon since I think we are getting a third day free depending how we feel when we get in, we are driving this time from out of state. My husband got a great bonus that we are going to use for this trip. Anything I need to take care of first?

I was going to see what dining reservations are still available. I thought we might do Magic Kingdom on Thurs Jan. 2 and then Animal Kingdom Jan. 3 Fri morning and Hollywood Studios Fri afternoon. We are skipping Epcot because we are mainly hitting the roller coasters my youngest couldn't ride last time and we have been to Epcot before and it's not our kids favorite. This trip is mainly about Universal as we are staying offsite near Universal.

DH and I are going to be at SSR 1/4 - 1/11/14. We just got back from Food & Wine Festival and can't wait to be back.

If anyone is up for a Dismeet, I am totally interested. Love to meet other Dis'ers.

Just booked our trip at AKL 1/29 - 2/6, We are so excited!!! It seems a lot has changed since our last trip! I'm trying to figure out the magic bands and the fast pass +. Looks like there is a lot to learn! I love this thread. Thanks for all of the great advice!

I was thinking the same thing! So much as changed. I am having to do some research to see what I need to book now. I booked our dining reservations so much is already booked up because my DH is King of Last minute trips! Ha! But, I always enjoying planning our vacation for Disney. First time we are not staying on site though for my family. I used to live in Florida so that's old hat to me. I will miss that but we are trying to do both Universal and Disney on a budget so we are driving instead of flying and staying off site instead of on site.

So Dining plan is only for on site guests is that right? We are only going to be at Disney 2 days this time vs our usually 4-7 but we will have 2 teenagers that count as adults now so we are trying to figure out most economically way to feed them.

Okay, I don't understand yet the whole magic band, FP changes? Is there a thread someone can refer me to so I can read about it?

We will be staying offsite sounds like a lot of the perks aren't available to us?

Oh, these last minute trips vex me and I don't have as much time to plan since we just booked it and my job is crazy busy. But, who cares we will be going to Universal and Disney. My nine year old is going to freak! We are going to surprise him and teenagers on Xmas morning.
