But if you do that then you won't be able to reserve FP+ ressies in advance of your trip. You can only do that if you have tickets bought ahead of time.
I can't imagine pre-planning our fast passes! :-). That just puts too much work into the concept of "vacation" for me. We do visit often, so I can understand the planning need for families that are on a "once in a lifetime" trip. But I can't pre plan that much. Aside from a very few "must do" like "Be Our Guest", "Wishes Desserts Party", afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian, and Behind the Magic tour, the rest of our January trip is "as the mood hits us". January is not so crazy that we can't do most of what we want. :-) "SingingMom" ....Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Not trying to convince you, but with very little effort, you are the type of person who would benefit the most from something like FP+.

Currently, you don't depend on alot of FPs, BUT you do know certain days you will be in certain parks because you have to make ADRs for Be Our Guest dinner, behind the MKagic Tour and the Dessert Party.

By knowing which day you will be in MK and logging into MDE and selecting a FP+ time, you could essentially do anything you want before or after one of your ADRs or tours. If your mood changes and you don't show, you don't lose anything.

Not trying to convince you, but wanted to point out, it would take no more planning and do nothing but potentially reduce your wait time for a headlining attraction or give you a great viewing location for one of the parades with no need to stake out a spot before hand.

And I'm now 74 days out with no ability to customize.

LSUFan, Did you click on Manage Magic Band? When I first did that, it only gave me an option of a gray band.. Finally about a week ago, it gave me the option of choosing colors for each guest. My page looked just like yours. It never said anything on that page about the magic band. I clicked on "manage magic band" or whatever it is off to the right side.
We are 68 days out, so not that far away from your time frame.

I click that EVERY DAY :surfweb: and I still get nothing.

haha.. love that Obama GIF.

So... our trip begins January 11 and I don't see anything under "MagicBands & Cards" except for a Link a MagicBand or Card button.

If I click that, it brings me to a page that I can link a Resort Reservation. If I input my reservation information, it says its Already Linked.

Am I just being impatient and eventually it'll all just show up? We made all our reservations through Disney.

You make very good points! I would probably look into FP+ after reading this, except last year we didn't wait for any attractions. After previous visits in the heat and crowds of summer, we really fell in love with the ease of January! Of course, we did luck out with 80 degrees all week!!

I'll keep my watching to see if the swan & dolphin are included before January.

Just made Backstage Magic reservations! Looking forward to the tour!! January, come soon! :-)

I am at 70 days and I still can't customize anything. I clicked on "manage MagicBands" and it just tells me to link a band or card. Oh well, I'll just keep checking back. :surfweb:

It is official, we are booked. 1/1/14-1/7/14!! We will be staying at Coronado Springs Resort. Got the flights we wanted, for the prices I found last week still. I customized our magic bands. I made our ADRs for our 10th anniversary on 1/3, late breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, dinner at Narcoossee's. We are doing a 6-day base ticket, not going to the parks on 1/1. We'll resort hop for decorations and maybe a little DTD and our first ever stop at Earl of Sandwich for dinner. I'll do some FP+ planning tomorrow once I finish our ADR plans. Right now, we have the DDP planned, but we may reconsider and pay OOP instead. We'll see. Yay!

With all the talk over Magic Bands....
What is everyone's plans for scheduling FP+ times and rides/options?

My plan is to still continue to hit rope drops and hit some of the bigger headliners then. Whether I park hop or not, I will use my FP+ for the afternoons when wait times are longer and will probably be able to use some for Fantasmic, Wishes and possibly Lion King (based on availability) to avoid having to get there early for a seat or to stake out a spot.

Do you have any idea what times are considered afternoon and what times are considered evening?

Also has anyone heard how FP+ will work with Rider Swap?

Still trying to plan our days and FP+ for January....

Last night I tried to log into MDE to check for an update and I was able to log in due to maintenance on their end. I was hoping it was because my information was being updated at that exact same time.

This morning, I checked to see if I was able to customize and......I wasn't.

Good question! I really need to give this some thought.

Anyone have a plan for how to handle your family wanting different rides?? I can't ride the bigger rides, but DS and DH will want to ride them. I don't want to ride alone on the other rides. Just looking for some advice. It's supposed to be all about family time, right?! (I swear I'm trying to stay positive... I LOVE wdw... This is the part that gets me a little sad about FP+.)

You can only make 3 FP+ reservations a day, so I'm thinking it won't be a big issue. Just spread them out so you guys can all do everything together (and you wait while they go in to do the big stuff).

I am at 70 days today. No MB or customization. Sniff. I don't have a plan for FP+. I know what parks we will be in which day though. I think on the 60th day if we are able to do it, I will play it by ear in choosing and then hope to switch it around later once I see how it all works.
