Came back on Jan 5th at 9pm, then I had be at work early the next morning so I am now recovered enough to post.
Anyone have any questions?
We decided at the last minute (3 days before hand while driving to Florida) to stay onsite after staying offsite at Universal for two days so we found a decent rate at Port Orleans. Port Orleans was our best option that was available with 5 people in a room. We all had gray magic bands but not a big deal, we just bought the slider on characters so we knew which was our bands. Don't get the cloth bands to decorate your bands they don't work well. My husband and I were the only ones with a pay option added on to our bands.
One of my teenagers did lose his band but it was because he wore it over his sweatshirt as he was tired,I guess of having to pull up his shirt to scan his band. It wasn't a big deal we just used the room key after that for his fast pass plus reservations. You can scan on the left or right side as the rides all have scanners on both sides.
I did like the option of changing fastpass times on your phone. We decided to stay late on both our MK nights till 1am as the lines were long during the day so we slept in the next morning. It was very nice to cancel some of our early times and move them back so we could all sleep in the next day.
Staying past the fireworks was definitely a good plan for us, we were able to walk on to most rides except Space Mountain still had a 30 min wait at midnight. Rope drop is probably a good plan as well but since we were all tired from doing Universal and we are all night owls, staying late was a better option for us.
The weather took us by surprise it was quite wet which we expected we had ponchos ready. But it was also very cold on one of our days, we all had jeans and a hoodie but we needed more layers and heavier coats. My teens were able to wear their Harry Potter scarfs, glad that we had bought them for them.
Loved the new fantasyland rides, those were our favorites! We had a nice late dinner (9:15) at BOG. It was expensive but quite good for the most part. I loved the steak and macaroni/cheese. My husband and son liked the seafood pastry. Our service was very good. We ate in the ballroom.
