Anybody see that they updated the park hours for January? I saw it on easywdw.com

This will sound strange, but I'm bummed that they extended the hours on Jan 3rd at MK. It is now 8-1am. I booked us a breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table for pre-park opening at 8 am but now the park will be open. I tried to switch the reservation to our other MK day and of course, no dice. I was wanting it to be a special introduction to the parks, etc. get some nice pictures on main-street and have a leisurely breakfast before park opening. Now, I know my kids will want to be out exploring instead of sitting down at a $300 breakfast! So much for planning your ADRs 180 days in advance. Grrr!

I hear you! I am so frustrated as well. I have spent more time planning this disney trip then any trip I have ever taken to make it perfect for my daughter's birthday. Since you have to book things like CRT in advance its not like we want to change which day we go to which park now. We were planning on MK on the 6th for my daughters birthday day, dinner at CRT to be followed by the electrical parade for a perfect birthday evening, Guess not. Also frustrated because we are doing the tomorrowland terrace fireworks dessert party and would have done it on her actual birthday the 6th but didnt schedule because I heard you couldnt see the electrical parade well, so we booked that for the 8th instead, and now no electrical parade on the 6th her birthday anyway so we could have done the fireworks dessert party on her bday afterall. All I know is that I thought all my hours and I mean lots of hours planning were going to pay off since I was on the phone on time on my 180 day etc., but with park schedule changes, it kind of ruins some of our plans, but now if we were to chenge parks we would lose out on our other reservations and experiences. Guess there is just no such thing as planning the perfect disney trip anymore!

Just made my fastpass selections. I'm neutral with the process, except I fall under the category of maybe getting one fastpass per day with the old system. I was able to pick choices but in Epcot I was forced to pick passes for rides that I have always just walked on to, so it just doesn't make sense... And in Animal Kingdom since I'm forced to pick 3 and I only really go on 2 rides I picked something I know I won't end up doing, which one is a waste of a fastpass for me and two takes a reservation from someone who might have actually wanted to ride it. Other than that I suppose I don't have any real complaints about the system.

I am super bummed about the cancellation of the Electric Parade on Jan 6th (my birthday!). We won't get to see it at all on our trip. Oh well, I guess we'll have more time for rides!

This is completely off topic, but my birthday is Jan 6, too! We don't arrive until the 7th though, so this particular issue doesn't effect me. And I already decided that the whole week is going to be my birthday.

I'm definatly going in Jan, just haven't made the reservations yet. Need to vfy I have the time off with the boss first...and I'm waiting for a quote from a TA.

I did test availability and I can get a standard room at Art of Animation anytime I'm planning to go. I'm just concerned about dining reservations this close in.
This is a solo trip for me, and I've not been there since 2000.

6 nights and 5 full days. I do plan on hitting Islands of Adventure. Not sure yet how I'll be getting there. No idea if there is transportation or if I'll need a taxi.

Tomorrow may be the day I know for sure.

Im going Jan 12-17th. I cant wait! I have had it booked since august and my bf and I are excited to celebrate our anniversary there. Its been about 10 years since I went last and he hasnt gone since he was a little boy, we already did the SPD package and got our magicbands and everything else in order. Any tips for me as this is the first time im going as an adult and not a younger teenager?

OK, it is now official, Jan 26 through the 31st 2014 at the Art of Animation Little Mermaid wing.

I'm going solo. Got the Dining Plan Plus and the Park Hopper Pass.
I be sittin pretty with all the cool January people. We January types have always been way cooler that the rest of the year people.

We got out mickey flash drive last night, too, and I had to hide it from the kids, as this trip is a surprise for them.

We're doing a quick Jan. 29-Feb. 2 trip, staying at Port Orleans Riverside. And apparently part of my thanksgiving weekend will be staying up to play with FASTPASS+ reservations as soon as the clock strike midnight saturday morning. But we've got dining reservations all set, which is a relief.

Now I just need to hope there are no storms in the mid-atlantic that would affect our flights!
