**The Official January 2012 WDW Thread**

I love everyone's pixie dust moments. And PrincessSuzanne & Kazooie01, I'm so glad pixie dust was sprinkled on you when you need it. Not only is it wonderful to think Disney does such nice things, it's wonderful to hear that there are still nice and caring people in the world.

Although we've never had a true "pixie dust" moment where we've received anything or gotten an upgrade, we've had many pixie dusts moments just being a family. My favorite moment was when just my DS and myself were in Animal Kingdom alone (DH was in town for business and was working and my parents flight was arriving later that day) This was our first trip to Disney World and my son was so excited for this vacation; he was 4 at the time. Just having alone time with him and seeing the pure excitement in his face was pixie dust alone. But then we took a break, grabbed mickey ice cream bars and sat on a bench looking at the monkeys. My son was watching them swing back and forth while chomping at his ice cream with his face painted like an animal, and he looked up at me, smiled and said, this is the best day ever mom! Then he went back to eating his mickey bar and watching the monkeys. It was in that moment I realized how magical Disney really was. It's also the moment I think my son became a Disney addict!!!

Love this story...thanks for starting my day off so happy!

Both your stories made me cry. Thank you both for sharing! And also thank you to the others that have shared too. :thumbsup2
I almost never cry, but there are tears streaming down my face for both of you right now. I lost a parent this year too, and I'm so sorry for your families' losses.

PrincessSuzanne & Kazooie01, I cried at both of your stories. I'm sorry for your losses, and I'm so glad that the CMs you encountered were able to be there for you.

Our favorite "pixie dust" moment was when we were meeting family that live in Florida at our hotel and going to AK together. It was our first day in the parks and we were so excited to be there. But when the bus pulled up to AK, I searched everywhere for our PHs and realized I forgot to grab them from our luggage. I was so upset that - 1. we would have to wait for the next bus to come from our resort to take us back, 2. I just screwed up all our planning for the day, and 3. I made our family get up so early and drive because we just had to be there at rope drop. Well our bus driver overheard me and told DH and me to get back on the bus so he could take us to our resort to get our PHs, even though he was scheduled to go somewhere else. He posted "Special" on the sign and we had a magical bus ride with just the 3 of us!! He joked and told us stories and cheered me up. It was so nice of him to do that and it's something I will never forget!!:wizard:

We had a really nice bus driver do something like that one morning, and it was really nice. I think we were at WL and had a breakfast at one of the monorail resorts, so we hoped on the MK bus and then we were going to transfer to the monorail to get off at whichever resort it was, we went to get off and he said wait a minute, I am going right past there, I will just drop you off. I thought that was really nice of him.

Sorry I made some of your cry. I love all of these stories. We sometimes get carried away with the lines, with this or that being closed down, refurbishments, and what’s being built or what’s not being built. Stories like this are what Disney is all about, the reason why Joni and I fell in love with Disney in the first place.

Joni left a “Just in Case” letter that I found on our computer after she passed. It instructed that I promise to follow through with her plans for us to become DVC members, and it outlined how some of her Life Insurance was to be used for that to guarantee the children “Would always have Disney” because it was their “special place with Mommy and Daddy.” She would probably kill me for making such a fuss over what she did for us, but it just shows what Disney meant to her and still means to us. I wish everyone a Pixie Dust moment.:thumbsup2

Joining in!!!!

I am checking into to begin working for The Mouse on the Spring 2012 College Program on January 16th!!!

My mom, sister, and I will be going down January 12th for a Pre Check-In Celebration Trip, and my mom and sister will stay down there until the 18th!!!!

So excited!

My Pixie Dust moment was walking into Main Street Disneyland with our 3 girls back in 2009. My husband turned to me and said "remember when we said we would come back with our kids". That's all he had to say.

In 1992 DH and I had stopped over in Disneyland on our way back from a European backpacking trip. I suspected I was pregnant but it was very early. Anyway I was a little worried about going on some rides but DH kept saying "don't worry that's only if you're really pregnant". Here's a photo of us on Splash Mountain in 1992 DH and me are up the back.

We had a ball and vowed we would be back with our kids.

Fast forward to 2009 and as we walk down Main Street DH reminds me of that vow. I tear up silently behind my sunglasses.

Here we all are in 2009:

 That's so sweet. I know she's still enjoying the trips you are taking the children on. :littleangel:

:yay: Woohoo! Sounds awesome! Do you know what area you'll be in?

Ok, we hit double digits today, only 99 more days until I am checking in at BWI. We may leave home the afternoon before though.

YAY!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1: We're just a few days behind you.

New Question of The Day (or maybe it should be weekend or week, since it's slow in here sometimes?)
What Are You Doing This Month To Prepare For Your January Disney Trip?

For us, it will be buying plane tickets. We haven't bought them yet and they're just now slowly dropping, so hoping to find a good deal and buy!!! I'm also going to keep checking the rental car prices and hope for a drop, although I'm not expecting to see that until about the beginning of December.

I'm going to take that question as the month of October. We will probably be booking the trip and also buying our plane tickets as we havent done either yet :scared1: We're waiting on money that we are using for the trip to come in before we book. I'm getting a little nervous that we wont get all the ADRS we wanna get since its such a last minute trip. It will still be a good trip even if we dont. :yay:

What Are You Doing This Month To Prepare For Your January Disney Trip?

Things to accomplish this month:
1. Pay for my DxDP
2. Pay off Universal Portion of Trip
3. Have a couple more movie nights (Monsters Inc, Tower of Terror, The Mummy, and Haunted Manison are in the Que)
4. Work on the autograph book pages as well as the reveal plane books for the kids

What Are You Doing This Month To Prepare For Your January Disney Trip?

My wife and I are going to have a dinner date one night of our trip. We booked to eat in France on Wednesday night but will continue to keep trying for a spot at Le Cellier. I figured it doesn't hurt to keep trying if somebody cancels. Otherwise the rest of our ADRs are booked.

I booked the Boardwalk Inn yesterday using the Disney Visa discount (35%)!

Just need to reserve a car service and we will be all set.

What Are You Doing This Month To Prepare For Your January Disney Trip?

I think this month will be a quite time for me as far as Disney planning goes. We have our air tickets we have all accommodation booked and probably won't pay it off until December. We have our ADR's and I have made a park itinerary.

I still have to get Universal tickets and organise car hire but that can wait. So October is looking pretty quite for Disney planning.

I might think about our 10 days in Honolulu and look to booking a day tour to the Big Island. I don't want to overthink Honolulu as that is supposed to be the laid back part of our trip. But I do want to go do a Big Island tour.

QOTWeekend: We need to get with the other family we are going with and discuss logistics of driving.

I need to check out Universal tickets - maybe through Costco.

I want to get over to the DISign board and check out ideas.

For us, it is just watching my ticker slowly creep down to 0 and saving up for our trip :goodvibes
