**The Official January 2012 WDW Thread**

Today's the day- we leave for the airport in a little over an hour!

DH is much better. I, however, awoke with a sore throat. :sad1: I hope it ends up to be nothing of concern.

We're off to see the mouse regardless!

Hope you have a great trip! Get some vit c tabs and take 2x day, will help knock out the sore throat and keep you well over your trip!!

:woohoo: 13 days for us!!! OMG!! :dance3:

For any of you that are surprising your kids, how are you planning on doing it? I still haven't decided how we will tell them, but I know we will tell them the morning we leave. Both of them have said numerous times over the past couple weeks, out of the blue, "I wanna go back to Disney World!!" It has been SO HARD not to just blurt it out!

We are surprising our girls right after school...when they get off the bus we will be ready with the van windows decorated with mickey ears, "going to disney world", etc and the trunk will be open with disney balloons and a backpack full of disney goodies and trip "essentials" for each of them...and we will leave within a half hour after that! Getting so excited!

We do too. It feels good, IF you can feel good coming home that is. ;) Then, in our house, the suitcases explode and it takes weeks to clean again. At least it was clean when we came home.:) The only time it ever seems to be clean. When people are coming over and when we are leaving on vacation.

Yep, that's what I'm afraid of...all the work to be done AFTER the trip and then adding on Xmas stuff, too, might just do me in!

And yes, we, too, are the "company's coming over so we got to clean" people!

We took ours down yesterday. I grew up Catholic and never quite let go of the tradition of keeping everything decorated until Epiphany so it feels weird to have everything put away so early, but working around the trees and decor was getting in the way of sewing and packing.

Good for you to get it all done. I did 3 boxes, so lots more to do yet. I told DH my goal is 1-3 boxes a day, and this time I am organizing them and not just dumping everything any old place (like I did last year -- that was a mess to find everything this year). Lesson learned!:thumbsup2

:rotfl:

Oh my that is me to a T!!!! I will be cleaning my house on any given day and the first thing that comes out of my kid's mouths are "who is coming over?" :lmao:.

Add my name to the list too!:goodvibes

:rotfl2: Glad were not the only ones!!

:thumbsup2

Glad DH is feeling better...hope your throat feels better too. Besides the Vitamin C, sometimes my throat feels better if I just wrap a scarf around it. I do this at night in bed during the winter, too.

Can't wait to hear back how your trip went!!

Yay! I've been looking for information on this, but hadn't found anything. Do you have to register online for the tickets? I hope you have a great time!

Yeah, I have been anxiously waiting. The guy I spoke to yesterday said you could use the form for last year (boy that sounds weird), but you can fill one out at the window when you get your tickets. He said the new form probably wouldn't be available until sometime next week and of course we will be there next week.

I will probably call a couple of more times before we go, just to confirm.

Yay! We're finally down to single digits. 9 more days to go :banana::banana:. DS goes back to school today, so I can finish up my packing and cleaning in peace and quiet. And since DS wears uniforms to school, I can pretty much pack up all of his stuff now, without worrying about him needing to wear it before we leave.

After debating with myself much of the afternoon, I did end up doing online check-in. After I did the check-in, I called to ensure my requests were still noted on the reservation and they were. As Marshay pointed out, the worst they can do is not assign me a room based on those requests, and I can still politely ask if there's anything else available that meets my requests.

And add me to the list of those who ensure the house is spotless before leaving. It's bad enough having to come home from a trip, but I can't imagine having to come home from a trip and knowing you're coming home to a dirty house that needs to be cleaned. Plus our pet sitter stays at our house, so I have to make sure everything is cleaned.

PamelaASmith- I hope you feel better and have a great trip!
Tommygirl79- How exciting knowing you're going to have such an awesome suprise for your kids in a few hours! I bet you're exstatic!!! Have a wondeful trip!

I could clean for days and still come home to a mess, there is no telling what my cats will get into while we are gone, not to mention the litter that will be strewn around, other than that it shouldn't be too bad.

Ok, where can I go to get information on Sea World? There isn't much on the Sea World section of the board, at least not enough for me. Their website isn't very helpful. I just need to make the most of the day, because we have to be back at the MK before 7pm the day we go, which will probably be 1/12

:yay::yay:11 Days until we leave for Florida:yay::yay:

:woohoo::woohoo:12 Days until we set sail on our first cruise:woohoo::woohoo:

:banana:19 days until we are at Disney:banana::banana:

We're leaving on Sunday. I tried to start packing today. We've decided to go in just carry-ons. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE. I just needed to vent. But yeah, I have way too many clothes :/

There is absolutely no way I could go with just carry on. I haven't even packed many clothes and I already have 4 bags of one kind or another :scared1:

11 days until go time!!!
Tomorrow is online check -in day, but I really don't know if I should or not. Last year we had two villas at BLT with a request to be as close together as possible, but we still ended up on two separate floors and on complete opposite ends of the building. We did online check in then.

We have two villas booked and when we booked I put in a request to be at least on the same floor. So would you check in onsite or will it matter you think?

I've used online check the last 3 or 4 years, and we did get our request. Last year we requested joining rooms and got it. IDK. We drive up and stay offsite, then check in early befroe parks open. Don't know if that has anything to do with it???? I just love walking up, getting my package, dropping off luggage and heading out to the parks. Quick!

The girls are packed. They've gone through their lanyards and picked which pins they're bringing to trade.

That is exactly what I need to do! I have bought tons of pins, but never really traded. I plan on doing alot of chilling out at the parks and talking to CM. So pin trading sounds extra fun and a great way to start a conversation.

Hey all, live from the Grand Floridian! The room is AMAZING, I love it! Today we went to IOA, and the weather would have been fine except for the wind/shade which made it freezing We had a great day at DHS yesterday, riding TSM twice and doing everything that we wanted to do.

The Harry Potter ride was AMAZING, unlike anything I've ever seen. but it was quite the long wait, about 150 minutes when we went in there at 1:00 or so. It was worth it though! And we had a blast!

Tonight we had dinner from Gasparilla Grill, and watched the fireworks in our room. Tomorrow we head to Epcot.

Oooh, the first live report!! :cool1::banana:

Glad you had a great day. Can't imagine waiting over 2 hours for a ride -- you are dedicated!!

Have a great Epcot day tomorrow.

Please report back on crowds and what you are wearing (although I heard there is an unusual cold snap right now...) and anything else the rest of us should know!:goodvibes

Hi all!
We're here! It's quite cold. We had reservations at California Grill at 7:20 and decided to check out decorations at Grand Floridian and Cinderella'sHoliday Wish/lighting ceremony beforehand. Struck out at both. All decs down at GF, and no castle show. Quite disappointing since 5 different sources all listed the castle show as "on". We asked and found out the last show was actually last Sat, and tonight was the last night for castle lights. So at least we got to see those. Burnt a day's ticket for just that. Oh well. We were dressed nice for dinner, so we took advantage of lots of photo pass pics. Dinner at Cali Grill made up for the misses. We had the best table in the house, and during Wishes as well. Now we're back at OKW and headed to bed. Crowds were crazy at MK tonight. Couldn't move anywhere easily at all, and both DH and I noticed tons of non-English speaking tourists. Hope tomorrow's crowd est at HS is correct at just a "5"!
