**The Official January 2012 WDW Thread**

Oh you guys are so smart :) I knew I came to the right place to ask about foods to bring

Good call on the canned soups and such and frozen waffles is a great one too. Lots of great tips. I will be keeping this thread handy as I make my list lol

the crock pot is a smart idea too :)

thanks guys.

I can't WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:goodvibes:goodvibes:grouphug::grouphug:

I totally understand what you are saying! It isn't selfish to want to have a very special trip with your family remembering trips past and creating new memories! Praying for the absolute best to come for you and your family!
:goodvibes:grouphug: Thank you.

Thanks :grouphug:
AHH I just saw this now. I'm so sorry! This is just such a bummer. I totally understand why you're feeling crappy, as I would be sad, too. Hopefully she can still make it with you guys. If they can't, all you can do is look at the positives and focus on those so the trip is still a good time, you know? I know it's super disappointing but fingers crossed it works out so they can come with you and experience Disney with your DD the way you experienced it growing up.

Either way, lots of hugs for you as it's never fun to be bummed out about that kind of stuff.

:grouphug: Thanks, Dani. If my grandparents do get to come I'm worried that my grandmother will be stressed out thinking about my Great-grandmother back at home. Hopefully it'll all work out.

What park will you be in each day?

I'm sure some of us are bound to be in the same park on the same day...let's keep a lookout for each other!

My sweet DH gave me a WDW trip for Christmas! Our first with just the two of us! I'm SO excited!! Staying at the Contemporary with a MK view!! I usually take a year to plan my WDW trips...so this is slightly freaking me out that we leave in just a few weeks. And I'm not going to lie....I've already started packing! ;) So thankful I found this thread! So much to plan. It is making it easier reading everyone else's posts!

What park will you be in each day?[/SIZE

Usually I have every day planned, but this trip is a little less structured. The family wanted a little more flexibility. We like to park hop as well, so figure we'll move around a bit.

Jan 3 arrival, MK evening only
Jan 4 HS, Downtown Disney in the evening
Jan 5 either AK or MK
Jan 6 EP
Jan 7 MK (DH is also running the half)
Jan 8 either AK or MK
Jan 9 EP
Jan 10 HS (leave mid day) :sad1:

I have a question to post as well. What about restaurants? What does everyone have planned?

Jan 3 California Grill (DH's favorite, just booked tonight! A time finally opened up!)
Jan 4 Sci-Fi Diner and Paradiso 37
Jan 5 Sanaa
Jan 6 Marrakesh
Jan 7 Narcoossee's
Jan 8 Yachtsman Steakhouse
Jan 9 Teppan Edo

Good Question!

We are trying a lot of new places this time and returning to two favorites. The rest of the meals will be CS, in our DVC room or we may try for a walk-up.

1/20 - Garden Grove dinner *new*
1/21 - H&V Breakfast *new*
1/24 - CRT lunch
1/25 - T-Rex lunch *new*
1/26 - Garden View Tea in afternoon

We have never been to any of those. Guess that means more trips to WDW in our future! ;). We also try and hit new restaurants each trip. California Grill and Sanaa are repeats for us because they are favorites. All the others on our list are new for us.

Your restaurants look yummy! You have quite a few I want to try!!! But I have picky, picky boys so unless I'm alone, something like Sanaa or Marrakesh would probably never fly :(

Here's our line-up:
Jan 12: We get in late, so we'll probably just grab fast food on the way to the resort.
Jan 13: Le Cellier Lunch
Jan 14: Kona Cafe Dinner
Jan 15: Crystal Palace Breakfast* (we've done dinner, but not BF);
Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner*
Jan 16: Ohana Dinner*
Jan 17: Sci Fi Dinner*
Jan 18: T-Rex Late Lunch/Early Dinner (new to me; not DH or DS)
Jan 19: Tusker House Breakfast
Jan 20: Captain's Grill*
Jan 21: Via Napoli*
Jan 22: Boma Breakfast*
Jan 23: Ohana Breakfast
Jan 24: Kona Cafe Dinner
Jan 25: Tony's Town Square*
Jan 26: Cape May Breakfast*

We have lots of new places to try (the *'s) and a few old favorites. Kona is twice because DH loves it so much and DS loves Ohana breakfast with Stitch.

I also really want to try to make it to flame tree bbq for counter service at AK and try that and try WPE breakfast because I hear great things about both of those. But we'll see where we end up hungry for our counter service credits.

Yeah, it's amazing that no matter how many times I've been to WDW (over 30), I still have new restaurants to try. This trip we decided to really try for some new places, hence the 3 new ones.

I love Cali Grill...such yummy food -- perfect date night for us but alas, no grandparents going with us on this trip.

I wanted to try Sanaa in May when we stayed at AKV but then we chose Boma instead. Next time we'll do Sanaa. Glad you liked it!

ooh, yummy!! I used to do the Tonga Toast, which I still enjoy but then I tried The Samoan and haven't gone back to TT since. It is wonderfully delicious, esp if you plan a late breakfast...since The Samoan is almost like eating lunch!

I will be there from January 28-Feb 1st.

It was originally supposed to be just me and my 13 year old son. But my mother and brother got so swept up in our planning talk that I ended up adding them to our reservation.

We will be staying at Pop Century. My brother is the only person in our group who has ever stayed there. Four of us in a room. It should be interesting.

My mom and brother are very big planners. I'm a bit more relaxed, but I'm considering changing my ways this time. Maybe I should plan down to the minute and order of rides. Thoughts?

I will be taking *cough* sick days *cough* for this trip. Pray I don't get caught. LOL.

We tried breakfast on our last trip at Kona. It was good and the Tonga toast was good, but really sweet. DH & I just aren't big breakfast people, so we just add a few breakfasts thoughout the course of our trip so DS is happy. DH loves dinner there though. The teryaki steak and Kona Kone are his favorite and I agreed to it twice as there are a few things on the menu I want to try and it always seems to be fairly quiet and relaxing. Plus, since we upgraded DS to an adult for this trip, he's looking forward to having his own Kona Kone and not sharing with dad :)
