The *OFFICIAL* HHN Review Thread

Well...you can't get into the park with S & S...you have to have a valid ticket or AP for admission into the park. But...the latest I would suggest is 4:30pm since they close at 5pm. You are really going to be cutting it close if you're leaving Disney at 3:45pm during that time of day. The traffic gets ugly in the afternoons.

We have the 7 day park ticket, so we are good. I would like to leave earlier also but we are getting a babysitter I just thought leaving at 3:45 would be o.k., maye I can tell them 15 minutes earlier.

Anytime between 4:30 and 5 should be fine. That's when we arrived the last two times last week. Both times they let us out early and we headed over to the soundstages where one or two houses should be open.
thanx, so they don't mind if u linger @ ur table? always hate to tie up table so they can't flip it, sounds like it's the norm during HHN though...guess we'll just have to order an extra pint (or 2) and tip well:)

so i can pace myself, what time did they let u out?

Fellow DISers here! We'll wave to you at Finnegans around 4:30 or so! Look for the family of three (Mom, Dad, and DS) with the crazy 13 year old who can't wait for HHN! (DS has been planning this for a year. I think by the time we get to Finnegan's he'll be completely out of control with excitement.)

Julie

ha! least somebody's kid will be excited; i'll have my 15 yo DS (he who isn't fond of scary stuff switched @ birth perhaps? told him to slap a smile on & deal lol)

keep those reviews coming:goodvibes

WOO HOO! We went last night... I miss it already!
Totally disappointed in the Bloody Mary house, it was one of the worst ones there and for an icon house, it should have been waaaaaayyyyyy better.

Top 3 in my opinion:
Tie for 1st: Body Collectors & Dead Exposure
2nd: The Hallow

Disappointed with Doomsday, thought that was going to be way better, too.
Creatures was nothing to write home about.
Finally, to Interstellar Terror (wuite possiby the worst house), "Event Horizon called! The want their movie back!" :lmao:

We hit all 8 houses, MIB, Simpsons, ROTM, Bill and Ted (which was also disappointing due to lame characters) and all scare zones and still had 15 mins left before the park closed - We all agreed it still got 2 thumbs up!:goodvibes

If you're doing S & S, you will be lead to Creatures first and then you could do Body Collectors and Interstellar Terror since they're all together.

So where would be the best place to stand in the S&S area so you would be near the folks who will lead you when they decide to open the houses? The difference could be a few hundred places in line. Or is it better to be back a bit and give the scareactors time to get into character?

Since you're going to be in the holding area, it won't matter where you stand. They release everyone in the holding area at the same time so it's a stream of people heading to the houses.

We went 10/3 and 10/4. We really enjoyed the scare zones this year and I was so glad they had more of them.

We did each house twice. Once before it was very crowded (but also still light out) and then once with our EP when it was dark. It was hard to go through Scary Tales and The Hallow when it was still light out, it was so dark in the house it was hard to see where you were going, Saturday night they added a little more light so you could see better.

I enjoyed all the houses. We tried to get each cast. We actually did IT twice because they were changing cast midway through and we wanted to catch Wolf again :thumbsup2

I looked all over for the ROF lanyard but never could find one. I had that problem a couple of years back as well.

I got mine from a lady in the holding area on opening night who was selling them for $5.00. Last year...the lanyards were available at Guest Services...I haven't checked to see if they are available through GS again.

saveFerris, the two parts with the narrow walls are pretty short. The only thing that might panic you is that you have a close line of people both in front of and behind you so you can't really run through. But other than that it goes pretty quickly.

Some of the other houses are very dark and disorienting (much of Dead Exposure is pitch black except for the strobes that keep popping on). The passages feel more narrow than they are because of that and because there are usually so many people in with you.

But you can see Exit signs everywhere if you look for them, and there are security people everywhere inside in case of emergency. Looking for the signs and reminding yourself of that might help.

keishashadow, you can linger as long as you want because they can't turn the table over anyway since the park is closed. They know that people go there to stay for HHN so they don't rush you at all. We've usually been let out around 6ish.

I figured it was, but why dont they give it credit like they gave to Doomsday??:confused3 ... besides that, I thought it was still a weak house

Event Horizon is a Paramount Studios film. While obviously Doomsday was a Universal flick - they prob are pushing dvd/bluray sales.

I would say Doomsday maze is a hit or miss most people. The variables can be the different actors at different, or if you've seen the film.

When did they get the camera fixed? Last I knew, it went down in June. I'm glad that its working again!
It had to be pretty recent because my DH, who is a lurker, had been complaining in June and watching it to see when it would start working again. He just told me it was up again yesterday when I said I wondered what the weather was like at USF while it was raining here in Kissimmee.

I'm driving up on 10/24 early so I should be in Orlando before 3pm. I only have HHN tickets so what would be the earliest we could possibly get in so I know when we should arrive?

Thanks!

the park opens at 6. be there about 5 so you can be up front at the gates.

Actually I think the posted opening time is 6:30, although they've been known to open a little early so best to be there as much ahead of time as possible.

I have waited at that gate before, trust me get there early!!!

DM seems peeps donn't look at this thread 1'st..
Alot of new threads popping up..

Thanks for the advice!
I asked you about it on another post so feel free to ignore that one. I am really excited but just concerned is all. I think I can handle the dark and narrow hallways because I've done other haunted houses that do that. Hope I can handle the curtains things!
Maybe I'll follow my husband in that one, hang on to him and close my eyes till we are through that section.
