The *OFFICIAL* Grey's Anatomy Fan Thread!

I've read a couple of times here that Izzy had given a baby up for adoption. Somehow, I don't remember that? I must of missed something somewhere in the past...so I need help.

What season did we learn this in? Any idea what episode we learned this in? I want to go read up on this storyline. Thanks.

I don't know the exact episode, but its one where Izzy is counseling a young patient who is pregnant and tells her she gave up her baby for adoption. If I'm not mistaken, the mother of the pregnant girl is furious at Izzy for putting ideas in the girl's head. I don't know if we ever know for sure what the girl decides to do with her baby (as in give it up for adoption or keep it).

Anyone else feel like someone was sitting on their chest the whole show???

Meredith is the narrator so I cannot see the show going the way of Desparate Housewives where the narrator is a dead character and I can't imagine them changing the format of the show. They keep stating her body temp and people who are submerged in cold temperatures do go into a hibernation type coma thing and come out okay. Although on the show they have drawn it out so long that realistically a person most likely would not live but hey, it's tv land :confused3 I cried watching Derek go through watching his leading lady go through this trauma and wonder if maybe another wedding proposal isn't in the future??? Remember last week he promised he would always be her knight in shining armor! Not sure why bomb guy has popped up again but I agree that she will have a message from Denny when she comes back to the living. Not sure where they are heading with the George and Callie thing because I think he realizes that he really loves Meredith but she is with Derek so what would be in it for him to pine away for her :confused3 Kerev has really turned it around too....from McJerk to McSensitive!!! Sooo many thoughts, what a GREAT show!!!

I was on the edge of my seat this whole episode! Wow!

Looked to me like she let herself drown on purpose :confused3

Hey Carmen!

It did sorta look that way, but I felt it was more to do with the temp of the water and the weight of her clothes dragging her down, she did take a pretty good fall into the water too.

I just hope if Meredith has a message from Denny from the dead, its to tell Izzy to move on. If I never hear the name Denny again, it will be none too soon. They have milked that storyline, and Izzy's pain over losing a man she barely knew and never outside the hospital, entirely tooooooooo long.

I agree with those of you who were annoyed by Izzy telling George he made a mistake in marrying Callie. I thought that was an odd time to be lecturing her friend. Besides, I like Callie with George. I think they are perfect together. That whole "I believe" speech from Izzy would have been a lot more effective if she had left off the mentions of Denny and the mistakes George supposedly made.

I was on the edge of my seat this whole episode! Wow!
ditto!!
that had me hanging on every minute...... every word spoken..... out of every characters mouth .... from every scene ..... WONDERFUL!!
the best episode of the BEST show on TV :thumbsup2

I was too tired to watch last night so I taped it. I couldn't stand the wait so I started to watch this morning before work. BIG mistake! I couldn't tear myself away and i have red eyes now :rolleyes1

what a show!
Could Meredith not swim? I don't recall her hitting her head or anything...
No, but she was hit by the patient, hit hard enough to knock her into the water. Maybe she was stunned or something. At least, I hope thats the case as opposed to her drowning on purpose :confused3

Same here. I can't believe they would even consider it.

I do have to say that even though Meredith is one of their own, didn't it seem wierd that so many important people were assisting Meredith, and not doing surgeries on the hundreds of people who were injured in the accident....I thought it seemed a little far fetched, but then I thought maybe it was because they are the ones who are the closest to her...???:confused3 Did anyone else think the same thing?

I agree - all those other injured people and EVERYONE is trying to save her! It was a bit unrealistic... but hey, it was still a GREAT EPISODE and I cried and cried and cried...

LOVED seeing Denny - even if it was only in Heaven!

It did seem that way, but really there are alot more attendings then just those 5 throughout the hospital.

Okay, if Meredith sort of let herself drown on purpose... I can't really figure out why she's so depressed, really. I don't really like her as a character and wouldn't mind them killing her off, except for the fact that it would change the dynamics of the show and that might be a bad thing. But I definitely don't like her with McDreamy. I always wished he had stayed with Addison.

Why does Izzy hate Callie so much?

I don't think Meredith let herself drown.... when they showed her popping up in the water, they also kept showing her sneakers and clothes.... I think between the cold of the water and the weight of those clothes she only had a few minute before she went hypothermic.....

I think they will kill Meredith off I'm afraid.... Maybe do a voice over like in Desperate Housewives... They said in the previews it would be a devastating conclusion... I'm so sad trying to prepare myself for the inevitable :(

Wow, I agree with everyone who said they were on the edge of their seats

First of all, I highly doubt they will kill of Meredith. Too many fans would be angry.

When Meredith woke up and caught her breath in the room w/ Denny and the Bomb guy, did anyone think she was just having a dream and none of this really happened? Maybe I watch too many soap operas, but I really thought that. I hope they don't make the whole story a dream or something like that :sad2:

I thought it was very strange that all the Drs and interns were gathered around to see if Mer was okay. They are dealing w/ a majoy trauma situation in the rest of the hospital. I don't see how they can afford to have 4 interns just sitting around and crying. It seemed weird to me that they paged them all.

I cannot wait until next week :hyper:

I TOTALLY Agree with you!!! Every Denny episode was like beating a dead horse! I was almost shaking my head in disbelief that they found yet another way to bring him back :sad2: I don't think Mer. intentionally drowned, I agree that it wasn't portrayed in the best manner so it did look like it but I think it was the cold water & clothing weighing her down, etc., how else would Derek be able to come to her rescue :confused3

yes, i briefly thought that... and I wouldn't have liked it

Denny AND the hot bomb squad guy! I literally screamed and fell out of bed!

I don't think they'll kill Meredith off either - it is GREY'S Anatomy - but you never know with this show. They do some crazy things.

Loved the scene with Mark and Derek sitting in the hallway.

My thoughts on:

Izzie's lecture: Maybe she's in love with George. So far, it has been in a friendship sort of way, but maybe she'd like to have a shot at him and she can't have it with Callie in the way.

Denny: The spoiler sites said that he was coming back and not in a hokey way. What's not hokey about having Meredith in a semi-dead state talking to him? Blech! Too reminiscent of the first few episodes of The Sopranos last season. <yawn>

George & Callie: I think they're great together! I want to see that relationship last!

George & the little boy: YAY! He found him!

Meredith: I like what someone said about her mother dying and her getting to talk to her. Ellis crosses over and Meredith returns. Heck, if there has to be an unconscious story line, that's the best alternative, I think.

ITA with all of this. When they showed Meredith lying on that table without any tubes coming out of her and she sat up, I yelled at DH "don't even tell me this whole thing was a dream!" Then they showed cute bomb guy (couldn't figure out where I had seen him before, thanks!) and Denny and DH said she's dying. That's when I thought it's GREY'S Anatomy, how can they kill off Grey.

DH said before the show even started that he thinks that Ellis is getting ready to die. Maybe that is the devastating conclusion???? I cried and cried last night. I felt so sorry for Derek.

Christina just doesn't think sometimes before she speaks. I totally get what she was trying to tell Burke about Meredith being her person. That was who she was wanting to tell about the engagement. But talking about murdering someone??? WTH?

I was glad they brought Denny back. :goodvibes

I thought Izzie was EXTREMELY rude when she told George that he shouldn't have married Callie. I like them together. I think Callie really loves George also. Why wouldn't Izzie want them to be happy? She was just rude, rude, rude.

Can't wait until next week!

Please kill Meredith...She is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying... Maybe we can have the bomb guy come back in her place.

I think Denny is back for more than one episode. Maybe Meredith will stay in the unconscious state for a while and be with him and the bomb guy. I think the "devestating end" is that Meredith's mother will die and Meredith will not get to say good-bye, but she will see her where she is now and make peace. I'm sure Meredith will not die -- she'll be back. I have to say I'm sick of listening to her whine. I really do not care for her character. Hopefully, this near drowning will change things for her.

Also, bomb guy was the one who starred in "Early Edition."

OMG, I can't belive y'all are missing this!

Bomb Squad guy is back because Merideth will have someone to sleep with in the afterlife.:lmao:

Did y'all notice how Chirstina can't say the word "Friend" She kept refering to Merideth as "Her Person"

As far as George and Kallie...Leave them alone, let them get their grove on before George goes gay on the show.

It was a great show. I can't believe I'm as hooked as I am on this show.
