The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

omg, I loved this episode. Rory ROCKS! And a kudos to Grandpa Gilmore. He was great. Plus, Christopher and Lorelai were fabulous together. I haven't been this enthusiastic about a GG ep since...uh, I can't actually remember. Quite possibly her Chilton graduation.

My one pet peeve...Lorelai and Sookie walk into Weston's and Lorelai says, "Hi, Sue, I'm here to pick up the cake." Signs receipt and then leaves...WITHOUT THE CAKE. I rewound it twice thinking I missed something. WTH was the cake???

Previews for the series finale look :thumbsup2: At least they're going out with a bang.

Tee hee - I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who caught the lack of "cake!" :rotfl:

This was a great episode but has made me incredibly melancholy - it's almost over - I can't believe that it's almost over!!! :sad1:

Tuesday nights will never be the same again! :confused3

Crap tastic, tonight was a new episode, wasn't it? Le grr!

Someone, quickly, please, PM me a summary! :) Stupid cleaning up of dorm and finals studying!

I noticed the cake thing too. I thought she said she was picking it up, but then she left with nothing. I thought Logan was kind of a jerk though. Next week will be sad, but I think its the perfect time for it to end.

.

Not only that, when she went to Luke's to get a coffee to go and a donut/muffin she left without the coffee and the donut bag. She went outside to take a call from Rory and didn't take the food that was on the counter with her.

I don't know if anyone else from So. CA posted but we didn't get to see it. There are fires threatening homes, the LA Zoo and the Griffith Observatory, so that's all that's on.:sad2:

I'm just disappointed that the final episode won't be the one that Amy Sherman Paladino had envisioned. I guess there wasn't enough time to work that out with the cancellation being so last minute.

I'm not surprised that Rory turned Logan down. It wouldn't have been in keeping with her character for her to run off and get married without taking on the journalism world first.

I also noticed Lorelai leaving Westons without the cake and Luke's without her coffee and doughnut/muffin. Don't they realize we diehards notice these things?

Diva of Dragons....I'm in the same boat! I guess we'll have to wait until reruns....sigh...

Me too. The problem is that there won't be any reruns on KTLA because the show was cancelled. They don't show repeats on cancelled shows. We will have to wait for the DVDs or ABC Family. If you are in So Cal, please send an email to the station manager at KTLA and let them know your disappointment in their decision. There are only 2 episodes left and it would not be fair of them to make us miss this one. I tried calling, but cannot get through. Maybe if enough people write in they will run and encore later this week. Here is the link:

This I can understand b/c she was upset. But the cake? Not so much.

Ok, by far, the best epsiode of the season...here's to next week and the previews had me dancin' in my living room :cool1: Chris was ok, but, Mal, just ok. They have a lot of cramming to do to finish up the series in one week though.

Summary (and spoilers from last night) for those who want it catch up:

First scene was the cake scene that irritated most of us with the invisible cake...Lorelai and Sookie rehashing the karaoke scene from last week. Lorelai says she needs to figure out what she wants.

Luke goes to Liz to buy earrings for Rory for graduation. He and Liz talk about the karaoke scene last week. Luke is like, giddy, for lack of a better word. Liz gives him the earrings as a gift for all the aggravation TJ has caused him, and then Luke decides to buy a necklace he likes "as a backup for Rory". Liz says yeah, right, and we all know it's for Lorelai.

Random scene with Paris and Doyle spackling and Rory taking pictures.

Lorelai goes into Lukes and Miss Patty and Babette start to talk to Lor about the karaoke. She gets flustered and says she was drunk and it "didn't mean anything". Luke overhears this and gets cranky and treats her badly. During this, Miss P and B want to know how to get to Yale since apparently the whole town wants to attend graduation. Lorelai says she'll see what she can do, and her phone rings. It's Rory telling her who the Yale speaker is going to be. Lor is on pins and needles waiting for Logan to ask Rory, which he hasn't done yet.

Town meeting where Kirk wants to sit in a clear box in the square a la David Blane. Townies say, "go for it". Then Lorelai tells Babette she can't get any more tickets for graduation and it becomes part of the agenda for the meeting. The town decides to hold a "re-enactment" of the graduation on the town square for all those who couldn't attend. Lorelai is overwhelmed but agrees to take careful note of all the pomp and circumstance so it can be as realistic as possible.

Party for Rory at the senior Gilmores. We see Lorelai and Christopher interact. They're cool. I love Christopher. David Sutliffe's facial expressions were fab this ep. Painful scene where Richard and Em serenade Rory. Truly, painful. Then Rory makes a speech to them and then Logan gets up and proposes to her in front of everyone. She pulls him outside and asks for time to think. Then she and Lor go on the horse/carriage ride Logan arranged for him and Rory. Rory wants Lor to tell her what to do. Lor refuses.

More spackling, just Rory alone in the apt. She tries on the ring. She smiles.

Lor goes for a walk, runs into Luke, and tells him that Logan asked to marry Rory. Luke is stunned; they have a conversation about it which evolves into a pseudo-conversation about them with slightly angry undercurrents. Luke goes in the diner to get Rory's present, looks at the necklace for Lor for a minute, deciding, and then shuts the drawer without giving it to her.

Yale graduation. Em spends the whole time alternating between complaining about the speaker and harranging Lor about Rory not saying "yes" immediately to Logan and want Lor to tell Rory what to do. Richard kicks butt in this scene, chastising Em and telling Lor he'll take all the pics, etc, and that she should enjoy the moment. She does. They cry.

Afterwards, Rory tells Logan no. She's not ready to be married. She assumes they'll continue on the way they have been. He says no. She gives him the ring. He says, "Goodbye, Rory" and walks away. **editor's note - I did not think Logan was a jerk here. I think this was such a good, realistic scene. I felt bad for him. And since I've hated him since day one, it had to have been a really good scene**

Scene with boxes. Lor and Rory are moving her out. Rory is visibly crushed by the Logan thing and says now what was supposed to be a happy day will forever be marred by this. She's right, and Logan was an *** to plan it this way. Lor tells her she did the right thing.

End Credits.

Previews for next week include a big, big party apparently planned solely by Luke and a KISS.

:rotfl2: I noticed the same thing!

I loved when Richard told Lorelai, "I'll note the time and I'll take the picture. You just enjoy the moment." And also when he got all testy with Emily for fussing about everything.

And who knew Rory and I have the same middle name? :lmao:

I was so glad she told Logan no and didn't back down when he told her it was all or nothing.

I'm so sad it's almost over. Lorelai and Rory feel like part of my family.

It was such a wonderful episode, but I was really disappointed with the quick break up with Logan. I am happy Rory said no, but geez, she seemed more upset about moving out of that crappy apartment. I loved Kirk in a box! I am gonna miss this show soooooo much!

So I wasn't the only one :confused3 :confused3 about the cake scene.

I'm sooo sad to see it end.

Oh, and Amy...I've watched VM the last two weeks just because I was too lazy to get up after GG...I don't know the plots, but that Piz guy is CUTE!

I'm wondering what they're planning with Piz on VM. He was also on Grey's Anatomy last week during Addison's segment in LA. If Addison gets her spin-off, he'll probably end up there.

I enjoyed last night's episode although I'm with all of you...I had a *** moment with the cake scene :rotfl:

I was actually really sad to see Rory and Logan's relationship come to an end. I liked him from the beginning (although my loyalties will forever lie with Jess :teeth:) and I felt bad for him when he and Rory parted ways.

As disappointed as I am that that next week will be the final episode ever, I feel like it will go out in a positive way.

JKanownik: you know come to think of it when the pre-empted GG for the BASKETBALL game....ggggrrrrr.....they showed the episode on the following Sat. I would have never known but my mom happened to be watching and called me. Maybe they'll do the same thing here? We can only hope.

Thanks for the link...I"ll be sending it out.
