The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

LOL--I'm here. I'm babysitting a co-worker's dd while she's in a meeting. So, I'm busy watching Aladdin. Priorities, you know.

My power went out last night. At 7:00 and didn't come back on until 11:00. So, I ended up missing the end of my all-time favorite series. I was inconsolable. Did I hear someone say they were re-airing it? (I hope, I hope!) Because I really don't want to wait until this summer to see how it all ends.

omg, that totally SUCKS!

So you missed VM, too? At least that wasn't the finale. Oh, BTW...you've got me hooked now. I've got some catching up to do.

Yep, I've missed most of Veronica this year--I'm going to have to wait for the dvd's. I'm glad I got you hooked on it! Isn't it great?

Also, I was SO glad that the final episode was all about Lorelai and Rory instead of all about Lorelai and Luke.

I agree; excellent choice. Her wearing the necklace in the final scene w/ Luke in the background was a perfect choice.

Yeah, as another poster said, the final scene last night echoed the final scene from the very first episode with Lorelai and Rory at the diner talking and Luke in the background getting them coffee and food. A perfect ending I think :goodvibes

This is the first TV show I was upset about ending. I've been watching this show with my DD's since it started. My younger DD gets off the computer to watch it with me & my older DD who went away to college called afterwards to discuss it. Oh I'll miss GG and this special bond with my girls. :sad2:

Oh I agree with you! My older DD has been watching this show with me since the beginning. We've been known to quote lines at random. When she went off to college, we used to watch it and discuss it after. We watched the final episode together last night, and I was the first to shed the tears, she was right behind me!! This was the only show that I made a point of being home to watch, or else I taped it. I am going to miss it so much.:sad1:

And a standing ovation to Lauren Graham once again for being able to convey more with her looks and facial expressions than any classic, zany, Lorelei line.:)

Can someone explain to me why she never got an Emmy?!?:confused3

RIGHT ON!!!!:thumbsup2

I cried like a little girl watching it last night. I loved it, but I was so sad to see it end.

so glad it will be on Sunday night. DD had a concert a school so we missed it.

can't believe I missed the finale, they said it will be repeated on sunday so hopefully I will remember.

I remember sitting in my family room when I was 13 and watching this pilot. And becoming addicted. I loved this show.

I had to go to my parents house last night for something and ended up staying there to watch it.
Full circle, sitting alone and crying on that same couch in that family room.

It was so sad! I will miss that show SOO MUCH!

:thumbsup2 I just ordered Season 1 from Amazon!!

I didn't see the first 2-3 years...so I'll still be watching Gilmore Girls every Tues nite (sigh)

I agree with you both.

My DD and I watched together until she went off to college. Then she would call at 9 when it was over so we could discuss it. We have watched the finale separately but intend to watch it again together when she gets home.

This is such an injustice! I emailed the Television Academy for the first two years of the show to protest - it did no good. So, after the third year I emailed them and told them I'd never watch the Emmy Awards show again because they keep overlooking the performances and writing on The WB shows. BTVS never received any recognition, either.

Entertainment Weekly has written many, many articles about how Lauren Graham was snubbed by the Emmys. They also felt the writers should have received nominations, too.
