The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

I loved the ending! I think they had to show that big blow out because Luke was so serious about not keeping secrets. Now he has a pretty big one! And I just love the banter with Jackson and Sookie! They are ao cute!

DD and I watched the episode last night together and we were both bawling our eyes out and hugging at the end. Pretty cool when a tv show can make a 15 yo hug her mommy. :teeth: Hooray that Rory's back!

I loved the little girl who plays Luke's daughter. That bike helmet was hysterical. I can't understand why Lorelai would get upset with him about having a kid--it wasn't like he knew about her and just ignored her all these years. I think it could add some cute scenes with her interacting with Lorelai and Rory.

I flipped last night between this and Biggest Loser - not to worry, I have it TiVo'd but I can't wait to find out, sounds like this is definitely Luke's kid from what you are all saying.

Did he find out for sure? I saw her come in to the diner and say he was one of 3 she was testing.

Inquiring minds need to know! lol

Thanks :flower:

Yep, he went to the science fair. She had pictures of 3 men--2 had big X's through them and Luke had a big circle around his picture. There was a sign over the whole exhibit that said, "Who's Your Daddy?"

I have to run to a meeting in a sec, but I'll come back and weigh in. Really quickly: where the heck was this girl's MOM??? Is she completely unaware of all this goings on?

Zack cracked me up last night.

Still undecided about the Rory reunion, and the scene with Em on the plane.

More later!

I have to chime in that I LOVED last night's episode as well. I cried at the end too when Lor and Ror were hugging and when my daughter saw that I was crying, she came up and hugged me and that just made me cry even more!

Great episode - now can't wait to see what happens with Christopher and Luke's daughter!! :goodvibes

Now I wondered where the girl's mom was, too. I don't think she could be completely unaware if she gave the kid the names of three guys that COULD be her dad. And why wasn't she at the science fair?

Zack was annoying me and I loved it when Lorelai jumped him and suggested that he might consider paying back rent for using the garage as a rehearsal space. I did love when Lane was trying to avoid looking at Lorelai in Luke's so she wouldn't have to tell her that Rory was living with her. :teeth:

Exactly my thoughts. I really wonder how this thing is going to all play out.

I read somewhere that they just cast an actress to play the girls mom, so we should see her in the not too distant future.

Okay, anyone but me think that Luke totally overreacted to Christopher calling?

Well, after all that happened last time with Lorelai omitting the fact that she'd been with Christopher when his dad died and then he found out about it later and Christopher was such a twit, I can see where he's coming from. Particularly since she guiltily jumped for the answering machine when she saw Luke walk into the room. I did love the "not fighting in front of company" that blew up into that huge argument!

And what's all this about Christopher having millions of dollars now and wanting to "take care" of Lorelai and Rory? Seriously, would you take money from your ex? I'd say go ahead and share it with Rory but I don't want the money myself. It just seemed really weird to me.

I wouldn't take it for myself (especially if I was involved with someone else), but I'd tell Rory to go for it. I am assuming that he got the money from the estate of his dad...guess we'll find out next week.

I forgot about the Lorelai drinking with Christopher all night thing. Now having remembered it, I understand the reaction more.

My favorite scene of the night was Jackson asking if it was all his fault and Sookie replying, "Yes, dear, it was."

Oh my! Thank you.

HUH?? Did I miss something? Did Christopher say something about having money on the machine? I must have missed that!

Or was that on a preview for next weeks show?

Well, I finally watched it (my vcr is finicky) and I didn't like any of the stuff with Luke and the girl. It seemed unrealistic to me because like someone else mentioned where was the mom? Also, this kid rode her bike so presumably she lives nearby yet had never inquired before? If some kid told your dh (assuming most of us are women ;) ) that he might be her father, wouldn't your dh's first question be either 1)What is your name? or 2)What is your mother's name? Would he just casually show up at the school 2 days later? Come on. Dumb, really dumb.

The previews were that Christopher has million, 10s of millions (I think that was his phrase) and they showed a Thanksgiving scene and said Luke feels guilty for keeping a big secret. Again, I just don't think Luke would sit on that information for a week. The Science fair was supposed to be 11/18, so a week later, he hadn't looked up the mom? Told Lor? Nothing? I don't know why they felt the need to add in this kid anyway so my view is pretty negative so far. Also, IF they wanted to add a kid, why not a boy?

OTOH, I really liked the scene between Lor and Emily on the plane. I thought it was very touching of Lor to reach out to her mom who really was in the wrong. Now, if Rory only dumps Logan, all will be right in her world, lol.

I agree, didn't like the whole scene with Lukes daughter. Very unrealistic.
And the fact that we didn't see the mother or anything, and this child just shows up out of the blue. On a bike. Weird.

I also think it would have added a new dimension if the child would have been a boy. Someone for Luke to fish and camp with and all that......

If he hadn't paid child support all those years, heck yeah I'd take it. Put it right into a retirement fund. Otherwise, probably not.

Although now if Chris gives Rory money for college, she can also pay the grandparents back. Wonder what kind of twist that will bring. Another scene like when Lorelei paid them back for Chilton???

Any speculations on what Emily's role in planning the L/L wedding will be?

Luke and the daughter thing...not really likeing it. Why didn't the woman tell him about the girl if she lives right there? Finally glad Rory and Lorelai are back together. Can't stand Christopher. SO and I were on the couch when she hit the answering machine to shut him up and I giggled - total girl thing to do! Can't wait to see next weeks ep. Not sure where this is going to take them but has anyone read TV Guide? Tons of info in there from the producer!

That was one of the best episodes all season (IMO). The Luke daughter thing is hard to believe since she apparently lives so close, however she does have some of Lukes gruff personality (and I LOVE the bike helmet). I am happy Rory is home, but surprised she was welcomed back so open heartedly so quickly. And I think it will be interesting to see what happens to YALE since Rory left the grandparents house with out telling them, and they are the ones who pay for YALE!!! maybe Christophers money is coming at a good time.

I think this whole thing with Rory and Emily will bring Lor and her mom closer together again. (IMO)
