The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

MM, I hope you're feeling better soon! I've had a nasty cold myself and although I'm feeling better, my co-workers keep telling me I look awful and I should go home. Umm....thanks! :rotfl2:

I think my favorite part of last night episode was Lorelai pretending to talk to Emily's answering machine. That was hysterical.

I was glad things didn't work out with the swim instructor. I was getting irate on Lorelai's behalf when she kept touching him during the swim class. Ick.

I still like the way things are going with Chris. I think they have more chemistry and always have. That being said, I enjoy the Luke-April story line better when Lorelai isn't part of the issues. Go Chris (even if he was trying too hard at family weekend). Poor Rory!

My cable system has decided not to carry the new CW. Leaving me Gilmore Girl-less. Help! A brief synopsis of last night's show would be greatly appreciated. TIA :thumbsup2

Sure--you all give a holler if I forget anything!

Lorelai is preparing to go to Paris by listening to a French tape and learning how to speak English with a French accent. Her plan is to tell the French that she was really from Marseilles but her parents were killed in a "tragique" accident and her adopted parents refused to let her speak French but she kept the accent to remind her of her homeland.

Lorelai and Christopher decided to attend Parents Weekend at Yale. (Even though Lorelai insisted it was for lame parents whose kids didn't want to see them the rest of the year and had to go to a college sanctioned event.) There were lots of jokes about the provost--which Lorelai thinks sounds like something you'd request more of at the deli. :teeth: When they arrived, they found Emily and Richard there and discovered that they'd been attending every year without Lorelai's knowledge. Lorelai was then annoyed that they were taking Rory out for dinner and they got stuck with an inferior lunch with her. :teeth: So they took Rory and her friends to lunch at the restaurant that Emily said they were taking her to for dinner--which apparently has "creme brulee to die for." :teeth:

Except the people Chris invited weren't friends, they were people that worked at the paper. They all drank too much and when a big anti-war demonstration on campus broke out, they were all too tipsy to do much good at the paper meaning Rory had to work all night. She got back at them by telling Emily & Richard that Chris & Lorelai would meet them for dinner--at the same restaurant where they had lunch. Chris was feeling badly for missing out on a lot of Rory's life which is why he kind of went overboard with the lunch--even inviting these people for a ski weekend. I was so annoyed when he kept saying things like, "You TOTALLY need to come skiing with us." How OLD is he again? 23?

Let's see--April is still staying with Luke. Luke picked her up from swim practice and agreed to go out with her swim coach. The coach picked the restaurant and turns out she's a vegan which was too healthy even for Luke. It was a pretty uncomfortable date (thank heavens.) Lane babysat for April and it really cracked me up when she was showing off her 7 letter words to use for Boggle.

Sookie received a free basket of veggies from a rival grower and made the best ratatouille ever--the whole time feeling like she was cheating on Jackson. :teeth: Michel is preparing for Lorelai's vacation and wants to be in charge and have everyone refer to him as "Captain."

Previews show Lorelai & Chris in Paris and the episode title is "The Proposal." Where's that throwing up smilie when I need it?

Okay--what'd I forget, girls?

Thanks NMAmy. This thread is my Gilmore Girl life line ;)

You're very welcome! You need to look for a new cable company or a dish or something. :teeth: I'd have had a hissy fit if I was missing GG! It's pretty much the only show I'm really dedicated to.

Can I just say that I am really not that into this season for some reason. I don't know, I just really don't care anymore. I think it's the writing however, Lorelai "leaving the message" for her mother was classic! :rotfl:

I LOVE this show can I join in? I started watching this with my daughters. I am so hooked have all the seasons. NMAmyThat was the best synopsis
I have ever read. I was cracking up. :rotfl:

5 eps behind and counting... Thanks for the summary!

Good heavens, Mal, you need to get busy with those episodes! Or you could just wait for the dvd's next year :teeth: but I really miss hearing your take on the episodes. So I guess you can't just wait. Sorry, pal.

Of course you can join in!

And I'm glad you enjoyed my not so instant replay. :teeth:

I love to watch this with my 16 yo dd, too. She's been watching with me right along. I just wish she was as well behaved as Rory was at 16. :teeth: She keeps telling me she's not a fictional character but life would be a lot easier if she were!

I am hoping to be able to catch up this weekend...it's just hard to get in any TV time these days...but I'm gonna try!

It WAS the only show I am dedicated too. :furious: Would love to get a new cable company- however- I live in a rural area. Yup! One and only cable company around here :sad2:
I will just have to depend on updates from y'all :thumbsup2 Thanks again.

Remember what that well behaved Rory at 16 did at the end of seasons 4 & 5!

Same here. It's like the new writers are trying to "force" the quirkiness and it's just coming off as pathetic. My best friend and I were totally addicted to GG for years, and now neither of us can watch anymore. She bailed before I did -- I watched the first 15 minutes of last night and then gave up. So sad. I wish they'd come up with enough money to get the Palladinos to stay on for one last season and give the show the send-off it deserved.

Just watched it.... I love Lor and Chris together. They are so cute! :lovestruc

Swimming instructor--lame!

Luke telling Kirk he is lucky to have Lulu who would even put up with him--funny!

Wonder how much that lunch set Christopher back!!??

OMG......Lorelie made a HUGE mistake. :guilty:

I agree. But it would be so much easier to hate Christopher if he wasn't so frickin cute! :teeth:

It's hard because I have always been a huge Luke/Lorelai supporter. But lately I've really been softening up to the idea of Chris and Lor as a couple. Now I guess I have no choice, I HAVE to get used to them being together :headache:
