I really liked last night's episode. :)

It was the old Rory and Lorelei we know and love.

I know I'm in the minority.....but I like Chris  and I can't wait to see what happens next week.
I didn't like Luke with Lorelei because both their characters became muted somehow when they were together. Apart they are back to the electric characters I like. JMO :)

THAT'S IT!!!!!!!! I couldn't figure out why I so disliked the Lorelai/Luke relationship, but you've hit the nail on the head! For a while before they got together (and still if I watch reruns) I couldn't imagine them with anyone else, because they were so 'electric', as you put it. Then I hated them together! I think you're exactly right ::yes::

I loved last night's episode. I am TOTALLY a Lorelai/Chris fan, so I'll be psyched if they do end up married (and having another baby maybe?). I hated Lorelai and Luke together. Luke's character rubbed me the wrong way last year, and I think he should be written off now :rotfl: Actually, maybe he can go marry April's mother. Either way, he should get out of the way so Lorelai and Chris can finally get it together!!

I liked last night's episode -

I can't decide if I am a Christopher or Luke fan

I think Christopher has really grown in the past year or two - and I think Luke has been a total jerk - so as they are now - I prefer Christopher but if Luke truly stops being an *** - I would be okay with him!!

I loved how Lorelai told Suki last night that all she wanted was to be a passenger in Luke's car and he had locked the door and she was holding onto the bumper - that was the perfect description of how their life was last year!

I loved last night! Giggled, cringed and just had a great time watching! Felt like and "old" episode.

I can't stand Chris!!! For pete sake he knew Lorelei was hurting and took total advantage of the situation! Chris was never there for L in the past and is just totally selfish. (he is cute but in the relationship department...)
Luke I couldn't stand last season (I wish last season never happened was just awful!) Lorelei walking around in a stupor all of the time...she finally snapped out of it. I am glad she told Luke the truth and I'm glad Luke drove away....can't wait till I see Luke and Chris meet....hope it really happens!

The rocket thing..cute.

Hope they keep this up ALL season long!

I totally agree with this. Loralei and Christopher seem to be better together than L/Luke. Christopher really has grown up in the past couple years
I thought the rocket thing was really cheesy, but very cute. It ticked me off though that the ticket isn't until Christmas

I liked last night's episode!! I'm still undecided on the Luke or Chris battle. At first I loved L & L together, but after the whole April thing (well, first off I thought "jump the shark"!!)
I just didn't like what the writers were doing.
I so agree! As soon as April appeared and Luke didn't run to Lor telling her all about it I thought "Oh man the writers are gonna mess this up for them". The longer it went on the more I had to fight the desire to BOP Luke over the head!
I go back and forth about who she should end up with... they have both been immature, thoughtless, & selfish at times, and wonderful, romantic and perfect at others. :sad2: Por Lor.

As for Rory & Logan; I bet it turns out to be a misunderstanding. He thinks she doesn't want to come or she would have mentioned it before he left & she wondering why he wants to wait until Christmas. I hope they work on real communication between them. It would have been cool if Rory could have just said "Christmas!! I want to come tomorrow!"

To me the timing of everything seemed a little different in this episode. Did anyone else notice it?? It just seemed a bit "forced" and a hair too fast. Maybe I just got used to the slower pace of last season.

Oh, I am so glad they're back! Can't wait for next week!!

Me too! I had my heart set on Hagen Daz Butter Pecan but the store was out. :sad1:

I was flipping between this and Dancing with the Stars and I missed the entire rocket thing - could someone plese explain to me what happened. TIA.

To me, Loralei has chemisty with both Chris and Luke but the kind that is not love. She needs to find a man that completes her. JMHO

I thought things were going slower than they did with ASP writing. I also missed the obscure references that would be peppered through the show. But it was great to see Rory and Lorelei and their interactions (especially trying to find something for the swelling of the eye!).

I'm definitely a Luke fan, so it's going to be a challenge for me to watch the writers pull him and Lor. apart. However, I just have to remind myself that last year they pulled Rory and Lor. apart for a third of the season, and THAT was painful, so I must be patient!! Having the diner wrecked will give Luke a chance to "get out of Dodge" for a while and think things through about his future.

I love me some Paris! Her snark is the best.

Lauren Graham is an amazing actress. Somebody give that woman an Emmy!

Those two things aside, I really didn't like last night's episode. The timing was slow and either Alexis Bledel was playing Rory weird or Rory was written very badly. She didn't used to be that...stupid. My friends who watched with me noticed it too and we were all wondering if Rory was on drugs and it was going to be a big joke. It just wasn't normal Rory. It was forced. Somebody suggested that maybe the actress hated the script and it was showing.

If I had to choose between the two, I want Lorelei to end up with Christopher. She and Luke have no chemistry and Luke can be a complete prat sometimes. Christopher seems to have grown up, finally. I'd rather a better character be introduced for her, but if not, than Christopher.

The Taylor/Kirk/car subplot was really dumb. I liked the Sookie/Jackson/weed subplot from last season and the stoplight camera did not measure up to that!

Is Lauren Graham pregnant? Or does wardrobe just like dressing her really badly?

The rocket was a reference to an episode of the Twilight Zone Rory and Logan watched together. An astronaut meets the woman of his dreams right before launch and is faced with the dilemma of spending 40 years in suspended animation and coming back young while she is old. He comes back to Earth 40 years later as an old man (he did not go into suspended animation) only to find his girlfriend is young because she put herself into suspended animation so they could be together when he got back. Now the astronaut was 80 and his girl was much younger.

Logan loved this episode and said that was an example of true love, or something like that, and Rory thinks that is what the rocket ship symbolizes.

While I like Christopher, I don't want him to end up with Lorelai. I think the only reason he seems more stable now is because of the money he inherited from his Grandfather and the fact that he doesn't have to try and impress his Father any longer. He and Lorelai have a history and are so comfortable with each other because they have been in each other's lives for so long. Ever notice how they turn to each other only when things are screwed up?

Yes, Luke behaved like an idiot last season. However, Lorelai should have spoken up a lot sooner - I think that's why the chemistry between them seemed so off last season.

I enjoyed the episode and cant wait for tuesday!!! I wasn't expecting Luke to leave so fast I expected a little more "action" between them. I did love the rocket and how Rory spent so much time thinking about it. and the raquet ball was GREAT. that was original GG action at its best!!! and what was with the arm wrestling??

I don't know about the arm wrestling, but it led to some pretty hilarious Suki!! I loved the scene when she was rambling about her cooking giving her the edge! :rotfl:

I loved it too. I have to say and I can take the flames. I wish they would have brought these writers in sooner! (now I may take that back later in the season, but for now these 2 episodes made up for all of last season.

yeah, LUKE!
(just had to get that in there!)

I just finished watching -- had to tape it but couldn't go to bed until I watched!
Good episode.
I almost fell off the couch laughing at Lane's discription of sex & her first experience! OMGosh! And Rory "you really should try it again in a bed... yes the bed makes a big difference" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I thought that the interaction between L & L was pretty good... except Luke was acting a little to mature for Luke... did anyone else think that?? I loved when he punched Chris -- not that I like violence -- but it seemed like Luke. But going off to dinner with Liz & TJ -- No -- the old Luke would have been hiding out in his little room upstairs refusing to answer the phone, and MUCH MUCH more grumpy. Very grumpy!

Well, guess I'll call it a night... since I'm the last one up on all of DIS! :sad2:

Okay--here are my thoughts on last night's episode:

Did anyone else find it a little odd that Lorelai seemed so, well, normal after dropping the bombshell on Luke? I mean, last time they broke up, she took to her bed like a swoony Victorian lady--now she's making sushi and recreating Asia? Which I LOVED but still.

I do like the fact that Lorelai and Rory seem to have gone back to their old cameraderie. All you have to do is watch last season's episode at the Cape where they seemed like strangers and then last night's episode and it seemed so much more normal.

Loved the fact that Lane has recreated Mrs. Kim's life--had sex once, hated it, and got pregnant. :teeth: Kind of sad if I didn't think she'd change her mind eventually. And I loved that she thought it was some big conspiracy. :rotfl2:

Umm...here's my biggest question. In the commercials, who the heck were those teenage girls sitting around discussing the show? Pretty weird--they were also discussing Veronica Mars. They did make me laugh, though. One girl said, "I was like in totally the same situation as Luke and Lorelai." Really? Some guy has loved your from afar for 20ish years? :teeth:

I did not get to watch last night...my night was just insane and I taped it. But I will willingly read spoilers. I did hit the last 3 minutes, where Luke and Lorelai had a confrontation in the supermarket and then the previews for next week.

So, spoil it for me...I already got the jist of Lane (but...if not a bed, where? and only once the whole honeymoon??)...did Rory find out about Lor and Chris yet?
