I cannot wait tonight. My debate is to go to my boyfriends and try to make him watch or to cuddle up in my bed at home with ben & jerry to watch.
Isn't eating ice cream while watching a requirement??
Mine will be Haggen Daz Butter Pecan... why not really celebrate! :dance3:

I think ice cream is definitely a must. My choice will probably be brownie batter (I can't remember the real name) from Ben & Jerry's.

I saw an interview with Lauren Graham today where she said that they hadn't even discussed this being the last season of the show. I thought it was kind of decided this was the last one.

First, brownie batter? mmmmmmmmm!

Second, the orginal writers had pitched the show as a 7 season show, 3 years of high school and 4 years of university for Rory. With new writers though, who knows? Also, the actors contracts expire after this year (I believe) but if this new season goes well..... I kinda feel that this season will be it though. From the interviews I read, the actors have a real loyalty to the original writers.

Brownie batter!!!!! Oh it's like heaven on earth. Ben & Jerry's has another one that is brownie and cookie dough mixed. Also good.

I knew that the original writers were only on board for 7 seasons and I'm almost positive that their contracts end at the end of this year. But Lauren Graham said there had been no talk either way about whats going to happen. I just found it interesting that she didn't say we signed on for 7 season but we'll see where the new writers take it. But she did say she'd been emailing with Amy Sherman-Palladino, so I know she has a strong loyalty to them.

NNOOOOOOO!!!! I missed it - I missed it - I went to a PTA meeting and forgot to tape it - DANG!!! :sad1:

Please start discussing it amongest yourselves so I can get an idea of what happened.

Okay, I loved last night's episode. It seemed like Rory and Lorelai were so distant last year--I really missed their interaction. Rory was not acting like herself--it was like she and Rory didn't even know each other. This episode went back to their banter and I'm so glad about that.

I enjoyed the racquetball "game"--that's how I play racquetball--complete with the black eye. :rotfl2: The battery on the eye was hysterical. :thumbsup2 It scared the heck out of me when Kirk drove through the diner.

What I did not like was poor Luke driving off after Lorelai's confession and the previews showing Lorelai and Chris getting pretty cozy. :crazy2:

So, girlies, what did the rest of you think?? I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't be as good as previous years but I think it was better than last season.

I really liked last night's episode. :)

It was the old Rory and Lorelei we know and love.

I know I'm in the minority.....but I like Chris  and I can't wait to see what happens next week.
I didn't like Luke with Lorelei because both their characters became muted somehow when they were together. Apart they are back to the electric characters I like. JMO :)

Chris = :crazy2: (Sorry, Mal but c'mon) ;)

Liked that Rory & Lorelai are back to being Rory & Lorelai but I just can't stomach Lorelai with Chris. Sorry, I just can't. I don't really know how to explain it but she just seems to run to him when she doesn't know what to do...c'mon the woman is old enough to know better. I think it was great when Luke drove off - he should have!

Ok, Mal...your turn...by the way, when *do* you leave?

For those who missed it and didn't tape it go to: www.televisionwithoutpity.com
in a day or two they'll have a very in depth synapsis on their site.

I liked last night's episode!! I'm still undecided on the Luke or Chris battle. At first I loved L & L together, but after the whole April thing (well, first off I thought "jump the shark"!!)
I just didn't like what the writers were doing.

oh, and my ice cream was a caramel nutty cone. yum

Now, come on...what exactly did Chris do last night that made him :crazy2:?? He was about the only one who didn't drive me nuts last night. ;)

I don't know why Logan is waiting until Xmas to see Rory, considering he knows she has nothing going on this summer. I did like the rocket though. And I did like the Rory/Lor banter, but I am afraid of how that will be affected once Rory finds out what happened with Chris. I can't imagine she'll be pleased.

Best funny of the night goes to Paris, when she complained that Princeton only paid their tutors $20/hr and then offered Rory $15/hr to work for her.

I can't come up with anything to say about Luke/Lor...that whole storyline just seems so contrived to me. I think I agree with the poster who said they're more dynamic apart.

Reading this over, I guess I was just not really impressed with the ep. It was okay, but it made me want to drag out my Season 1 DVDs so I could watch some really good stuff.

Ok, now, you know I just have to argue for Luke right?

Cracked me up!!!

See, now that's what I think about Lor/Chris...more dynamic apart...seems too "set up" for me...Amy?

My favorite part was when Paris made the daughter AND mom take the apptitude test and said something like "I need to know how much of this is her fault and how much is your fault."

My ice cream, chocolate chip cookie dough with brownie chunks (had to make a special trip to the grocery store!)

I should have gone with the cookie dough AND brownie. I had just brownie.

As for the episode I really don't like Lorelai with Chris mostly because he's hurt her too much in the past. I was glad she told him it was just one night but I'm let down from the previews. I loved Logan giving Rory the rocket and am hopeful that she'll be seeing him sooner then we think.

Is it wrong to wish that this season we could just pretend the April story never happened and she'll be taken off the show? But as always I enjoyed the rest of the towns going ons, the girls playing racquetball was great and the rocket... I just loved the rocket.

I'm with you, MM. Sorry, Mal, I'll just never be a big Chris fan. If it ends up with Lorelai and Chris marrying at season's end--the whole, "After all these years, she ends up with her childhood sweetheart, Rory's dad, finally a real family" thing, I'll just gag. Too contrived. There's a reason the timing has never been right for the two of them--Chris just can't be counted on to be there when Lorelai needs him.

Oh my goodness! That scene killed me. I'm totally a Christopher girl, but I felt SO bad for Luke that whole time he was bumbling through the places they could go, the things he had packed or planned for their trip, etc....

I think the new writers are doing just fine! :thumbsup2 I completely agree that the Lorelai/Rory interaction was great. I do miss Logan and Rory though! I'm glad that he'll still be on so many shows. I was worried a bit last year!
