Jax's dad died a few years ago. The same time Sam came to town. Both Sam and Jax were searching for some stupid card, it was supposed to be good luck to John (Jax's dad). Anyway, Jax didn't get the card and his dad died.

yep - just another one of Sam's stupid back-stories. I don't get why TBTB don't get that the character isn't working. She is supposed to be what...26? Is that what came out with the Alexis is her mother thing???

- The 'dead man's hand' cards during which it was her fault that Jax's dad died
- She killed her 'bio' mother in the fire
- Con-artist who had at least 3 husbands under aliases and killed 1 - Bill Monroe
- salvage diver/boat captain
- The mentally challenged brother who died in the virus thing
- her deceased daughter with Sonny

now she is a TV star

I get it is a soap and they are totally unbelievable but how much more are they going to shove this character down our throats???

which leads me to my next question - how do you feel about the current story-lines? I was reading SZ a bit and was interested by the responses.

I'm not 100% thrilled with anything on the show.

I'm watching Liz and Jason and Liz and Lucky.
I've been watching the whole Robin/Nik/Craig - Patrick/Emily mess which is odd because Nik and Emily are usually FF material for me.
As usual I'm FFing Sonny and Carly. I need a vomit smiley for them.
I'm also FFing Sonny and Jason. The whine too much.
I'm enjoying the 'teens' Spinelli, Lulu, Logan, Coop, Maxie, Milo - Dillion not so much anymore.
I really don't care about Lorenzo/Skye which is a shame. They aren't used enough in their own story and the war with Sonny is boring. I think I FF them a lot because they are in the Sonny/Mob sphere.
Alan/Tracy/Luke are pretty funny as are the rest of the Q's with Tracy but even that isn't really moving along.
I like Carly and Jax so I've been sorta watching but I don't like that she is still hung up on Sonny. I like Carly SO much better away from Sonny.
I totally FF Sam and Jason but I kinda like the Sam/Amelia stuff only because I want to see her totally destroy Sam. Of course knowing the IIC, Sam will come out looking great.

Poor Rick Hearst is totally getting screwed. I like him, the actor so much but the character is just a total loss. He needs a story that isn't mob related of him being horrible to Alexis. Speaking of Alexis, besides the continuing cancer story she isn't doing much else.

Ok I THINK I got everything. How does anyone else feel about the show?

She has been cast in a primetime show, so is off to other pastures.

They had some stuff about the actress that plays Courtney in recent SID issues, the cover was very misleading as it did imply she was coming back to GH. What it really said was that she had been cast in some other TV show, hence "Courtney is coming back to our screens" type blurb.

Surprise Couple: Craig & Alexis - You'll Never Guess What Happens!

Sonny - New Love


Mr. Craig seemed like too charismatic a character to write off the canvas and, as it turns out, GH agreed. The charming, viciously sadistic villain who engineered the MC hostage crisis, Mr. Craig, is none other than Jax's big brother, Jerry Jacks. Jax's troubled sibling, last seen in 1999, was originally played by Julian Stone.

Guza says "this actually works, believe it or not," he assures shocked skeptics. "I should take the blame for this, probably, but we have a long and nefarious history of playing with GH's past. We try very hard, as with Nikolas and Stefan to make it dovetail. This actually plays out and makes sense, including why Jax was gone traipsing around in Russia trying to track down his brother who's in trouble with the Russian mob."

Fans will undoubtedly question the fact that Stone's incarnation was mischievous, but not malicious, How could the Jerry we knew coldy toy with the lives of one-time acquaintances? Guza says "that the thing that has to be explained is buried in the past. God knows he was a troublemaker. God knows he was unpredictable. But he never seemed quite as heinous as Craig was. The thing that will be explained in time is what turned Jerry Jacks. You will hear why his appearance changed. We will deal with that in story and you will know why."

Okay, but considering how much mayhem he caused, how can James/Jerry maintain any kind of existence in town? Guza says "the first thing Craig did was go after Nikolas. He got leverage over Nikolas first, and used that to buy him some time. Down the line, he shifts his leverage to someone else and I promise you, ultimately, you will see why no one in Port Charles can touch him, for now. He will make himself untouchable in a very interesting way because Craig is always one step ahead of the game."


Nik Of Time
This week, time is running out for Nikolas, who is hours away from dying unless a counteragent can be found for the poison in his system. At Carly & Jax's wedding reception, Nik manages to steal some time with Em, who finally knows he's faking his romance with Robin because of Craig's manipulations. TC says " she was jusy relentless in not believing that he would leave her for Robin Scorpio, so she just kept after him until he finally couldn't lie anymore and just told her. So, they secretly arrange to meet at the wedding reception. Meanwhile, Mr. Craig, a.k.a. Jerry Jacks, runs into his mother, Jane, and she knows exactly who he is. Guza says "Let's say no matter how much one has done, a mother can always tell." Jerry asks her not to tell Jax, who then leaves for his honeymoon. Things take a turn for the worse when Jerry catches Nik answering his cell phone-and Jane is on the other end. TC says that "she's an older gal and sounds somewhat concerned and won't identify herself." Jerry comes in and sees Nik on his phone and is furious. He starts to walk out the door and Nik tackles him, trying to get it away from him. Then Nik injects him with what he thinks is the poison, but it turns out Jerry was just carrying saline in a syringe just to mess with Nik's mind. He's a tricky one." Nik rushes to GH and finds Em. He tells her that unless they counteract the poison, he'll be dead in five hours. That's when he explains to her what's been going on the past few months, so they immediately admit him to the hospital, and Robin and Patrick start to try and isolate the poison and find their own counteragent for him." While the docs struggle to find the counteragent, Em tries to keep Nik calm. An emotional Nik tells Em how much she means to him and asks Em to take care of Spencer if he doesn't make it. TC says "it's the 11th hour and there's no progress, so there's very little hope. He has to make immediate arrangements to take care of his son, as well as deal with the obvious inheritance involved. So he's sort of in a panic to do all of these things at once and say good bye at the same time." Robin and Patrick administer what they think is a counteragent, but Nik only gets worse. He pleads with the trio not to keep him on life support. "He doesn't want to spends month on end being kept alive by machines. Em implores Nik to fight for survival. She brings Spencer to GH so Nik can see him for what may be the last time. Nik then flatlines. TC admits he wasn't surprised to see it in the script. "I've flatlined many times on this show." While Pat and Robin work to save him, Jerry has a change of heart and decides he might need Nik after all. He heads to GH with the counteragent, but is pulled over by Lucky before he can get there. So, is this the end for Nik? The jury is out. TC says "Well, I'm near the end of my contract, so we're trying to figure out what's going on what that. I'm kind of in a holding pattern until that works itself out. I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. We just opened the door and we're working on it right now."

If our email inboxes, Mailbag and Internet message boards are any indication, fan are already on board for an Alexis/Jerry pairing. NLG says "I can't believe the response this has gotten. I've been reading posts about it on the Internet and people are really talking about it. And to be honest, up until now at least, there hasn't been anything overtly romantic about their scenes together. I think it's that she's been through such a year of misery between her husband's betrayal, her illness, losing custody of her daughter, that the fact that there is even the possibility of something new on the horizon , of something that can grow, it's very exciting. He's very cultured, very intelligent, so they're seemingly well matched in those aspects. And he's cute! It doesn't even matter that he's a terrorist [laughs]. He kills people? Eh...he's nice to her[laughs]." He's also her former brother-in-law. NLG says "Isn't that interesting? I don't know how they're going to explain why he's become so evil, but I think it's intriguing, especially considering the relationship that already exists between Jax and Alexis." As for Jerry poisoning Nik, NLG says "We were joking the other day that Craig was really shooting him up with a placebo [laughs]. Tyler said, 'Then I'm an idiot for getting all sick and acting like I'm dying.' I said, 'Well, you're just very affected by suggestion, that's all.' " But seriously, look for more scenes with this intriguing new duo. Guza says "Alexis has a surprising cross with Craig and don't assume that you'll guess the outcome from what you see."

I watched a couple of episodes of that American Heiress to see Alicia. It was awful... JMO! Kind of like a bad primetime soap...

Sonny finds a way to get over a honey-mooning Carly by finding a new lover this week: Amelia. It all begins when Amelia accidentally shows up at Sonny's door after she gets the wrong room number. Sonny invites her in for a drink. One thing leads to another, and they hit the sheets. Guza says that "Sonny is reeling. Jax and Carly's wedding has broken Sonny's heart." But is he really ready to move on? Guza says that "Sonny is going to be confronted with just that question," adding that Amelia won't be the only lady in Sonny's life. "There will be at least one new character in the summer and this character will be pivotal in Sonny's past. [As reported last issue, Megan Ward joins the show as Connie.] Sonny's going to have his hands full." For now, though, he's got his hands full with Amelia, who stays the night so they can resume their passion in the morning. Then, she tells him that no one can know about their tryst. Once they're apart, Sonny has Diane serve Amelia with an injunction to shut down production of Everyday Heroes. An angry Amelia confronts Sonny, and they have a romp on his desk. Amelia continues production on the show despite the injunction, and manages to get Sonny to lift it by week's end. But don't look for Amelia to get so distracted by Sonny that she'll forget her plot against Sam. Guza says "this is a different kind of vendetta. Amelia is in no way insane; she's not delusional in any way; she has a very specific agenda. But she will find out it's not as easy to carry out as she thought. The last thing Amelia wanted or anticipated was to get involved in any way with the people in Sam's life. She wanted to come in, set Sam up and destroy her. Now, she's getting a bit derailed, but she will still go through with her plan."

Just a little bit

Years ago, when Sonny 1st joined the show. I LOVED Sonny. I liked him with Stone, Robin and Brenda. Loved him with Luke and even Jason in the begining. I even liked Lilly! But now he is just sleezy. I mean how many woman is he going to get pregnant? And they all just SWOON for him, like he is some huge prize. Reese and Hannah, both FBI agents who tanked their careers because Sonny was so irresistible? Amelia has 2 encounters and a drink w/him and she is in his bed? She better watch out or Sonny's supersperm is gonna get her!

I also can not take Sonny and Carly round 3000 but unless they get Vanessa Marcil back they have to go w/that because it is the only pairing that works for MB. I always feel bad that the actresses get the blame for his failed pairings but he's the common demonator.

I also think he is laughable as a 'good guy' mobster. He doesn't strike me as the least bit intimidating or powerful.

I know what WAS appealing about Sonny but I don't know what still is.

Are you the poster that doesn't like Liz? I know there are a few here and there are a lot more out there. I really like the character but she is one of those love/hate ones too. Same with Robin. Maybe we should all post our like/dislike/indifferent lists, lol.

I think I pretty much agree w/you. I like LW's Carly well enough as long as she is away from Sonny. She reminds me more of Sarah Brown than Tamara Braun. LW's Ally was my fav on Loving/The City so I think I have a soft spot for the actress.

Sonny is pretty ick for me. I like his friendship w/Alexis. I still like Lulu but loved her last summer.

Like you I totally hate Sam. I think I hate her as much as I hated Courtney. I actually really liked Sam and Jason in the beginning but now I think that it was that I hated Courtney so much I liked Jason w/anyone else!

I'm enjoying Amelia but don't really love the temp recast. I don't like the new Stan either (didn't like him on PC) why does he always sound like he is talking in a stage whisper.

I love Epiphany and wish we'd see more of her and Kelly and Lanie.

They need some more guys that are Patrick's age.
