Saw this from a poster on the Intercot site, which kind of disputes other rumors about the Free Dining, but it works for me! We are already booked for August 8 - 15 and have the dining plan, I would gladly give up the AAA discount for Free Dining. Here's the post I saw:

Hello, good news, we just booked our trip to DW from 9-14-07 to 9-22-07 because the FREE DDP will be offered at that time. We received a AAA newsletter in the mail today and it advertises the Stay, play and Dine promotion from Aug. 5 to Oct. 3 2007. Our DW reservationist told us that if we booked today we would be eligible for the FREE dining promo, we just have to call back and have it added because it is not in their system yet. He told us it will be coming up in a few days to a week. We booked the Pop Century/ 9 days/ 8 nights/ Standard room/ All tickets with park hopper option and water park and more option for 2 adults and 2 children( age 9 and 12) and FREE DDP and free magical express for $1955.80. WOW what a deal!

We'll know soon I hope!

I have booked for September and have already paid for the trip and the dining option. Just because I have done that, Disney will either not offer the free dining or it will pick another month to do it. Same thing happened last year when I went in June. They had extended SWW's for the last couple of years and then I pick the week after the planned ending of it so they stopped it on time so I would miss it. I'm still praying but it doesn't look good.

Hey Bubba73, you can cancel up to 45 days before without penalty. Why can't you just rebook when/if free dining comes up and cancel your old reservation?

I made my AAA reservations yesterday and they called thier main office about free dining with no information. I think they would know if there was a flyer. Seems some agent wanted to make a sale ....

They have already listed a September Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining on the Disney TA site according to another site and a copy of the page was included. I also was able to get a peak at it too. The default check in date is 8/26/07.

You can't book anything as of now but they are getting ready to launch the special. You can try any dates but it says that they are outside of the range of the package.

having this show up so early on the TA site would be really early for a start date for bookings on 4/12 or for even 04/07. This would be way in advance if it started on 04/07 so I bet it will be sooner.

This won't help me and I am still keeping my fingers crossed for some type of discount for a little earlier in August, specifically starting on the 15th.

As I noted in the other thread about this - I would be mightily surprised if free dining were to start as suggested several posts back.. on August 5th.

August 26th is a far more likely date in my book.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the "Disney TA site" and how do I look at it?

Disney travel agent website. You need to be an authorized travel agent to get into it.

I am also booked through AAA and I gave pre-authorization to my TA to do anything possible with my reservation in order to get free dining. I haven't heard a thing from her about this. I did copy the above posting and e-mailed it to her, so we'll see what she says about it.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but with the understanding that the PP's TA wanted to make a sale (of course), wouldn't they still have to honor the quoted price? It isn't clear to me how they could book the PP's trip at the quoted price if it were not free dining?

Maybe the TA in question just priced the whole trip without dining then quoted that price to poster.

I guess it's possible the TA could've just booked the trip w/o dining and told the PP that the dining would be added later as FREE. It seems like that would be quite unethical - bait and switch type thing? I don't know. Unless this person is completely confused about what he is getting, or somebody is deliberately trying to get people worked up, I don't see how a TA could quote a price that includes free dining and then not honor it.

I just had my husband call to ask if free dining was available yet and the CRANKY CM (and I guess I can't blame her with all the calls she must be getting) said "not yet." Just thought I would try because its now April 1st.

However, and I know this reaching for straws, but I just logged on to the Disney Visa (Chase) website, and went to look at current Disney promotions, and that site said "unavailable, check back later". Now, it has said that before, and come back with nothing, but maybe this time it will come back tomorrow with free dining offer????

Is it possible to get an additional discount with AAA along with the free dining plan? I thought it was one or the other.
