The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

but those dates don't work for us either. August 21-28th. We would lose any savings if we did a split ressie for the last 2 days because of the whole ticket issue. ETA: Actually this wouldn't even work if it's going to be a 3 night minimum again!

We are paying for the dining though as we think it is worth it. We had it free for the past 2 years and it was great. I hope they come out with something that all the rest of us with "in between" dates can use.

Looks like I'll be at POR with you-8/20 to 8/30. I booked with AAA and paid for dining as I don't want to stay anywhere else with my family of 5. I'm somewhat hopeful that there will some kind of offer for our dates but I'm happy with what I've got booked for now. I'm hoping that the crowds will be lower.

So if Disney announces free dining in Sept (please please please) I will want to book our trip right away. The only problem is airfare is still too high, can I add that later without having to change my entire trip? TIA!

I hate the wait. Any ideas on announcement (if any)? Do they normally announce on a Sunday? April 1st is this Sunday.

Surely somebody knows a CM that knows something!?

:confused3 :

I know several CM's in fact. And either they are playing coy (possibly) or they genuinely do not know (more probable..)

Remember. Patience is a virtue!

Do you have to book the entire trip through Disney to get free dining? (meaning airfare) Also, does anyone know if you can purchase everything seperately to get the free dining or must we purchase the magic your way package? I looked on Disney's site to see what is included in the magic your way package but I couldn't find any info and it appears to be more expensive to purchase the package. Thanks for your help!

Rumor has it that the announcement will be made on April 14th for date
8/26 - 9/22.

I need it to start on 8/24.

Heres hoping they alter their plans.

You need to book your PACKAGE through WDTC - you can book your air however/wherever you like. You do have to purchse the package - but those that have anual passes (or whatever) just have to buy 1 day park passes on the package. As long as you are on the same reservation (14 day max) you then have dining for the length of your stay. Room only does not qualify for the free dining.

Thanks Robin! Do you know if there are any extras in the package or is it just your room and tickets?

Packages are rooms and tickets, and then can include dining if its added.

If you do an online quote, check what default room view they are giving you, as well as what kind of ticket. They usually quote you a preferred room view (at least at Pop Cent.), and tickets that have parkhopping and water parks, and are for a day longer than your hotel nights. You can manually adjust all of that to get a more accurate price. :)

When booking a package the following is included:

Special Features

I'm waiting with bated breath too, because I'd like to book our September trip. I am not falling into the hype of booking early, and then cancelling and rebooking. I'm hoping for Pop Century, but if we have to tweak the resort choice, then we can do that.

Here's hoping the announcement is soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:  :yay:

I am so new to all of this. I have been to Disney twice - just did the MK in June, 2002, and did MK and Epcot in January, 2007. Did not do the DDP either time.

I am now in the process of trying to plan a trip for me, my mom and my sister. We are trying to plan for the week of 8/25-8/30. How in the world does the free dining work? I know no one knows yet if Disney is going to offer it. I'm just wondering how it works if they do decide to offer it? Is it only for Disney Visa card holders or is it for any average Joe Schmoe who plans a package through Disney?

Free dining will definitely not be the deal breaker for us as to whether we go or not, but it would cetainly be icing on the cake!! ;)

I Just Found Out That The Tom Joyner Family Reunion That Is Usally Held At Disney From Aug30 To Sept3 Is Being Held At Gaylord Palms This Year, that's At Lot Of Open Rooms At Csr
