Not happy about the latest closure update! Main Street Electric Parade will not be showing while we are there Add this to Thunder Mountain, Dumbo, Fantasmic, and Kali River Rapids and I am pissed! I am still paying the full price to be there....they should stagger the closings more so you don't miss out on half the park! How can you truly experience Disney when the classics are closed?! Disney without BTMRR and Dumbo is just not fair. And now the one thing I remember from my young trips (electric parade) will not be either.

It's official! Everything is now booked for our upcoming trip! Room and dining reservations were set up months ago and I just booked a special tour for the Steam Trains at Magic Kingdom! So all is set!

Now if the next 2 months and 9 days would pass more quickly!

According to Robo on the boards, this is the most accurate calendar, and it'll be updated as we near our trip.

We just booked for Jan 28 to Feb 4!!! YAHOO so excited to be back!!

Not happy to see what is closed we never even thought to look before we booked! We were looking forward to seeing Fantasmic since with the kids they could not handle the wait times so we just avoided it

My daughter(7) is taking a glass-half-full approach to all the closures/refurbs.

No MSEP? That's okay....it was going to interfere with the Disney Junior Dance Party, so we'll go to that instead.

No BTMR? That's okay, she'll get to ride(for the first time) Everest, Splash Mountain, and Space Mountain.

No Dumbo? That's okay, because according to her, Magic Carpets and Triceratops Spin are the exact same ride.

No Fantasmic? That's okay...when she was 3, it scared her to death, and she hasn't wanted to see it since.

No Kali? That's okay....she didn't want to get that wet anyway.

I appreciate her approach. I'm way more bummed out about these refurbs/closures than she is. Now, if Snow White is closed(as rumored possible), that will be a hard one to spin. But so far, she's keeping a good outlook on things.

This is our 1st trip coming up, so I'll fill you in on what I've read about the experience.

Pirates League is located in MK, beside Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Your kid(s), or even adults, can be transformed into a pirate! You receive an official pirate name, you choose a make-up look (my son likes the one with the scar on the face & scruffy look), a bandana, sword, etc. The price also includes a portrait afterwards. You can read the specifics on the WDW website, search by Pirates League. It also has a quick video preview to give you a better idea. The price is $29.95, I believe. Reservations are not required but recommended.

Just a FYI when we were there in Sept, it cost for the Picture afterwards. But my kids LOVED Pirates League, and there is a Pirate parade later in the afternoon for them all.

Can anybody tell me how the crowds will be during the 10th-17th? I know we're leaving right before Presidents day and expect the crowds to get heavier towards the end of our trip.

Good luck I saw that the Cheer comp was at this time but not sure what it adds to the parks!

Really wanted to do a Mardi Gras trip next year but the kids need oral surgery. Have fun guys!!

I feel for you we did this a few years ago, and it was a expensive experince, pretty much cost the same amount as a family trip to WDW!

The official name is the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party. It is held in the restaurant that never seems to be open that is between Tomorrowland and the castle. It starts about an hour before fireworks are scheduled for that day. Our reservation says for 7:10pm. It is just desserts, desserts and more desserts followed by the fireworks, which you should be able to see from your table. I believe that we prepaid $25 per person.

This will be the first time that we have done the dessert party so I can't really say much more. My DH just heard unlimited desserts and said "Sign us up!"

Not last minute, it's been planned for months. You should be fine, since it restarts on 2/13 and it looks like you are arriving after that.

That is the trade off to go during slower times. They aren't going to close the most popular rides during the busiest times. They have more people to spread around on rides, so they need all the rides open to reduce wait times on other rides. When attendance is lower they will do most of the upgrades and refurbishing. I'm sad that I won't be able to ride BTMR, but I understand it's the trade off for having less crowds to deal with.

Got one last year for upgrade to POFQ or SS suites from ASMo for FREE, but didn't see it for a week and when I called they were all out of rooms!!
This year I'm checking my e-mail multiple times a day!!!

Unrelated question....what happened to my signature?? When I check it on my control panel it shows my little list with dates and hotels I've stayed in the past, but when I post on the threads it's not there!!

We were uncertain if we'd need to cancel our trip because I've been very sick and my disability payments are only 80% of my salary, and we didn't think at first if we should spend money on a trip when I'm earning less. But then realized this is the perfect time to take a family vacation, as I'm finally starting to see some light in a possible recovery. Our son needs this family time, and is really anticipating Discovery Cove as well as Disney.

You probably ran out of space. You have a limited number of lines for your signature, so you probably used them all with the other things you have (which it looks like since you have a lot already) so they won't show up.
