The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

35 days- Starting to pack today I think-

bathing suits (wishful thinking), hats, sunglasses, crocs, lanyards, activity things for the kids, I could go on and on

Just found out that we are able to participate in a Pop fridge swap- SUPER excited about that!

Joining this thread  !

We are going from 1/29/11 - 2/5/11 and staying at CBR in a Pirate Room. We are also doing a Wishes Dessert Party on 1/31/11 and the "Welcome to the Love Magical Pin Event" on 2/5/11.

Anyone else doing the pin event?

I don't know how or why people go to WDW during this week... I was just looking at Lines and the current wait for TSM is THREE HOURS. :faint: Even it's a small world is 40 minutes -- I can't ever remember waiting more than maybe 5 minutes for that one. Love going in February!! :goodvibes

43 more days for us!!!!

 :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:

Unfortunately that may be close to our reality for President's week; TP only has it one point lower on the overwall crowd scale from this week. Oh well, we'll just have to make do. I'm hoping for good weather like we had in '07 and '09 so we can have more restful poolside time.

We're watching Alice in Wonderland, the animated one - and having a tea party as part of our countdown fun.

We rented two other movies from the library too, aristocats and pinocchio.

Gina - your question is what ride do you wish they hadn't changed and my answer is :confused3 I don't know since I don't really have enough trips under my belt to do a lot of comparing....

I took a virtual DVC tour last night for $25. Not interested in buying right now and I am pretty sure he knew that because it was the laziest sales pitch I ever received. Who cares, I am getting a $25 GC!! :rotfl2:

we made a list a while back of all the Disney movies that could be referenced in the parks so we could start watching them and it is MUCH longer than I expected. I want to say like 30-40! The original plan was to watch 1 or 2 per week but we're going to have to speed it up if we want to see them all, lol. I had bought a ton of the classics when I was pg. with my first but he never got into them so some were still unopened. The biggest problem is trying to get DD3 and DS7 to agree on a movie. :sad2:

how did you do that, can you give us the info?

I got an email from disney destinations that said "A gift for your family for your upcoming vacation" in the subject line and the phone number was in there.

to be honest though he never asked for a code or anything so I don't know if anyone could call and ask for the virtual tour with a 25 card?

Just joining this thread. My DH and I made a quick decision (about 2 weeks ago) to head down to February 6th - 12th. We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Can't wait!!!

What kind of crocs do you have? I was thinking about getting a pair, but I hate to pay the shipping and then end up sending them back (more shipping) if I don't like them. We're about 41 days out and if I get new shoes, I HAVE to start breaking them in.

Did you all buy trip insurance (those of you in "snow" states, that is!) for your Feb trip?

I am thinking that I probably should do that. I have a quote from insuremytrip.com since I already paid Disney in full and can't add trip insurance to a paid package.

Have you tried Zappos.com? free shipping both ways. Great service. Great selection.

We drive so we will find a way to get down there. I'll leave a day early if I have to :thumbsup2

I always get trip insurance, even with no snow. It's so ridiculously cheap for the peace of mind... and if one of us, or one of my immediate family, got sick and we had to cancel, I wouldn't be in a $$ panic. I go through Travel Insured, their Trip Protector Lite plan is just right for our needs. $53 for DS and I both. Worth it to me!

crocs- I have a mary jane style- There has got to be a code somewhere for free shipping- let me check around for you. I just got my 2 kids 2 pairs of new crocs with 2 jibbitz each for $23 total the other night!!!!

Trip insurance- we didnt buy it. I should have though- for piece of mind

Disney Family Movie Night- I love the thread on the family board with ideas for disney theme nights. We decided to do at least one a week (on Saturdays) with our little ones until the trip. This saturday? I better think fast. Next Saturday is easy- we are taking the kids to see Toy Story on Ice- so we will go to the show (11am), color toy story pics, make pizza planet pizza, and watch TS3- wahoo!

If the crowd scale is so high President's week, why was I able to get ADRs last week so easily, less than 60 days out? For example, CRT had plenty of available choices pretty much every day, I thought that was so strange. Or perhaps people are finally refusing to pay such a ridiculous price for breakfast? Anyway, hoping that the crowds aren't too wild, but I'm sure glad I know about touring plans/strategies now!

You can buy travel insurance right up until you leave, though. I always get mine when I make final payment. Not through Disney, of course, but I would never pay what they want anyway for the same coverage!

Forgot to add earlier the other main reason I get travel insurance -- luggage coverage. It's no secret that "Delta" really does seem to stand for Don't Expect Luggage To Arrive... I learned that the hard way a few trips ago when my main suitcase went missing for a day and a half. I didn't have insurance at that time, but sure wish I had! I would have at least gotten some money back for my aggravation.

why don't you get the ins. thru Disney - because it's more $$$? I never bought trip insurance before but I didn't think the $1xx we paid for 4 of us was too bad. Of course I have no idea what it even covers, lol. I should probably look into that. :rolleyes1

Yes, because of the $$$. It's the same coverage you can get yourself, only more money. It's not a giant difference for just the two of us -- around $15 -- but if I didn't save every dollar I could wherever possible, we'd never make it to WDW in the first place. :) And I'm cheap by nature, lol. :thumbsup2
