Congrats on number 4, and enjoy a vaca away. For some reason people are intimidated when you ask them to watch four kids overnight so I wish I had gone away with DH for one last time before #4 came.

Is the trip or the pregnancy the secret?

LOL Totally! That is another reason I want to go now. I'm not sure grandma will be up to the task of 4 for several overnights.

The trip is the secret...sorry was. I said I wasn't good with keeping surprises. I told dh this afternoon. We added dining plus to our reservation. Kicking myself for not booking last week and getting the free dining. Ugh!

Hi all!

We told the kids about the trip on Christmas morning! DS and DD opened up each box and at one point- DS got to the fake plane tickets and looks at me and says, "Mom, are we going to DISNEY????" I told him he would have to wait till the last box to see. Finally (I swear it took them ages to open the presents) they got to the last box, opened the lid and TA DA- the big jumbo mickey and princess balloons floated to the ceiling, and he knew. He just smiled his head off and looked at me and DH in shock. My 2 yr old is still running around telling everyone- "We goin to Disney World! We seeing Mickey and Minnie." SO CUTE

The only surprising I have done with DS was in conjunction with our last cruise on the Magic in '08. We were always so sad to leave that last day, so I decided to add on a "bonus vacation" of 2 nights at our beloved Pop. At about midnight on our last night of the cruise, during our nightly ritual of chocolate milk & cookies on our balcony, I just quietly handed him the resort confirmation. Took him a minute to figure it out, then his eyes got all huge. It turned out to really be like a whole separate vacation, full of awesome memories, and I'm so glad I did it.

But that being said, I really enjoy he and I planning our trips together, you know? I missed that. He and I definitely have fun with the planning. Every Saturday night is "trip planning night", and we usually go grab a bite to eat somewhere and spread the Passporter and my charts and the rest of my Disney OCD paraphernalia out and tweak what needs to be tweaked. Part of the fun is reminiscing over stuff we did before, and plotting out our future fun. I don't think I would like planning out a whole trip all by myself.

If you at all interested in a mimi-meet at Pop, please go toss your thoughts in on the FB page under the discussions tab! And please don't feel left out if you're not at Pop -- anyone can do a meet. Please feel free to start your own discussion thread there for that -- or anything!

I've been working on my packing list -- lost my massive one when my computer died this summer. Keep thinking of things to add, which makes me nervous... I'm so used to just going off my main list, I've gotten used to not having to think of these things. Blerk. One thing I keep waffling on is bringing my laptop. I never have, because I would never pay those rates for internet access. But I have Tether now and can just hook my phone up to the laptop and use the 3G connection, so I'm thinking about bringing it.

For those of you who bring laptops, is it a bigger hassle than it's worth? I'm mainly thinking about the airport hassle. It's in a sleeve, then in a case, and having to take it out to turn it on or some such nonsense would not be a quick & easy thing. But I would like to bring it if I could. What are y'alls thoughts?

Also, I looked at booking a room for my sis for when we go at Pop, Feb 12-17, and it says it's sold out!!!!

That makes me super super nervous!!!! Anyone know why? I know there is the cheerleading competition but I didn't think they stayed at Pop.

Odd... When I go to the Disney site and put in those dates, it shows availablity (preferred only.) It looks like ASMo and Sports are full, but shows rooms open at Music and some of the mods. Didn't check deluxes. The predicted crowd numbers haven't jumped at all, and are still really low, so I'm not worried. Tons of things can affect resort availibilty, but have little to no impact on park crowds. I'm not worried, I love going that time of year.

That just made me spit coffee... lol. Thank you, definitely! It just caught me by surprise... I don't think I get told that very often, LOL.

Seriously, I wouldn't worry. We have been there in February with every manner of cheerleader and dance team, and once even had a lapse in sanity and stayed at ASMo at that time, and while the resort was packed the parks were wonderfully light. That being said... I *am* kinda concerned about the effect of free dining. It is unprecedented for them to offer it for this time of year, and I'm not sure how it's going to affect crowds.

But I have always found Touring Plans to be pretty darn accurate, so if they haven't hiked the crowd predictions up then I'm going to try to not worry about it. I'm still going to make touring plans, and if we don't end up needing them then that's awesome. We get a *lot* of use out of our hoppers, and our park plans for each day tend to be rather fluid. Makes it easier to respond to a situation, like if a park turns out to be more crowded than we thought it would.
