The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

There are so many things we hope to do this trip that we didn't do before. TSMM is one. And the way people here seem to feel about AK, is how we usually feel about Epcot so I am trying to approach it with new eyes.

When are you going Ron? And YES! I recommend switching since the groups stay at the all star resorts (However, they DO NOT stay as a group at Pop)[/QUO

We will be there Sunday feb 13 to Wed Feb 16 at wow. We then head down for a 10 day Caribbean cruise

I just reserved pirates and pals fireworks voyage, anyone do this before? And is it worth the money?

Thanks everyone

Thanks Disneyfirsttimer I think we might change to the contemporary we will have to see the cost difference

I heard the pirate and pals cruise is AWESOME!!! The contemporary will probably be a hefty price increase- but well worth it from what I heard- heck you could WALK to MK

How awesome!

Alli,

Thanks so much for posting that link for the cheerleaders schedule. That will help a ton in planning our park days!

I'm sad that you won't be there when we are and a potential meet-up. Oh well! Enjoy your nice, long trip! Lucky you!!!!

Beth

Well that just totally blows, the cheerleaders will be having a huge party at DHS on our DHS day (which we can't change because of Fantasmic and no park hoppers)

Ok, I spoke to soon. Lynne, where did you see the party listed that they are having? I can't seem to find it on the brochure. Does it list other days/parties they are having? Help!

Thanks!

Now I'm considering skipping AK as well . . . I can go to a zoo anytime close to home. We are very short on time and skipping AK would be awesome, we'd be able to do DTD, resort hop and hang out at the pool. :confused3

Ak is just more of a laid back park. If you look around at all the details of it I am certain that you will change your mind about this park. I think it is a park that you have to take your time in order to enjoy it. :cloud9:

The last time we were there we had lunch outside by KRR and we watched these monkeys just swinging all over, it was really amazing. The kids loved it as much as we did - the way they had it set up made it look like they were free roaming and just part of the way of life there. EE has so much detail in the waiting lines it is like an attraction on its own. We were able to find 3 hidden mickeys at AK as well.

The kids had so much fun in the dinosaur play park. It was a nice break from the rides for them. DH and I sat and had a snack while they played. popcorn:: It was a nice break from all the get up and go!

Please go there with an open mind. My husband wasn't a fan either until I really started to point out the amazing detail of this park. :flower3:

Beth- I know :( I will miss meeting everyone :(

D- I totally agree with you- we LOVED AK- it was one of our favorite parks! We weren't sure if we would enjoy it- but I am so glad we went. It was so nice to stroll around slowly and take in all the amazing atmosphere- the kids (1 and 4 at the time) were in heaven- they loved seeing the animals, playing around dino land, camp minnie mickey etc. We went in May when it was 80 plus degrees- and the heat wasnt as bad as I thought it would be in AK. Also- if you can swing it- try Boma! We thought it was one of the best restaurants we went to that trip.

We are going to try Boma and Yak and Yeti this trip! I can't wait - I have heard so many good things about Boma ad hopefully Yak and Yeti. :worship: We are have 8 day tickets, so we are going to each park twice.

Ak is out first stop when we get off the plane! Yahooo! I just can't wait! :cheer2:

D- you are going the same time as us! We will be there from Feb 2-Feb 11th!
What Day are you going to Yak and Yeti? Boma?

We arrive on the 2nd and AK has EMH so its open to 8pm. We are going to go there our first day since I heard evening hours at AK are amazing. - We should get there around 3ish and then we are eating at Yak and Yeti at 4pm and then staying at AK till 8pm to take advantage of the night hours. We are then going back to AK for a full day on Superbowl Sunday the 6th and having dinner at Boma.

Since our dates changed I have a few ADRs to cancel-

I have a Le Cellier for around 6pm for 4 people on Valentine's Day if anyone needs it- let me know and I can try to cancel it at a planned time so you can reserve it for yourself!

Alli, on that link you posted re: the cheerleaders, do you know where their schedule is listed? Lynne mentioned that they will be at DHS on a certain day. I'm anxious to try and figure this out!

Thanks! :goodvibes

I couldn't find the schedule either... I'm wanting to know when their special party at MK is!!

OH WOW :goodvibes- you are the first person I have found going at the same time as me!! :dance3:

We are planning on Ak on the 2nd -prob getting there are 3 as well... We have dinner at Yak and Yeti at 7:15. We will be back at Ak on Sat for breakfast at Tusker House at 9:05 and staying until until 5 :yay: then at Boma for dinner at 5:35. Superbowl Sunday we are going to MK because they have EMH. We do not have hoppers, so I will have to deal with a little crowd increases. Since we have 2 days :woohoo:at each park I am not too worried about missing things!

oh man- it ate my post

on the second page it says the party will be held Sunday (the 13th) at DHS
I assume the MK cheer night is going to be friday (the 11th)- but thats just a guess
(The week before there is a cheer night at MK and its on Fri)

If you can try to avoid MK on Friday night, and DHS on Saturday and Sunday thats what I would recommend- but if you cant, it shouldnt be too bad!

Forgot what else I typed :(

Danielle- FUNNY! We are going to Tusker at 8am on Sunday, and then Boma at 5:45pm. No hoppers for us either- here's what we are planning...

Wed 2nd- AK
Thurs 3rd- MK
Fri 4th- DHS
Sat 5th- MK
Sun 6th- AK
Mon 7th- EP
Tues 8th- MK
Wed 9th- DHS
Thur 10th- EP
Fri 11th- open..... decide on the spot where we want to spend our last day

I saw the schedule on the brochure, MK party on an unknown day and party at DHS on Sunday. I can't link now because I'm on my blackberry but it was a pdf link on the site that was posted. We are going feb 10 - 15.

Ron, we are staying at CR and it was a good price with 40% off (instead of free dining). We actually upgraded to a theme park view. So excited about being so close to MK.

We are gonna do am at AK (EMH) and then afternoon at DTD and resort hopping (dinner at Chef Mickey's)

Lynne- Dont quote me on that! Not entirely sure- hopefully it wont affect to much. Theme park view at CR sounds Amazing!!!

Made an ADR at Teppan Edo for Thurs the 10th, this will be OOP since we have no more dining credits. It looks so cool to see them do their thing right at the table!

Hi everyone

Well we change from all-stars to the contemporary resort for a discounted room price and deluxe dinning plan and with 5 people that should save some money.

I have already made my ADR's and at that time I was not on the dinning plan, will they be able to change my reservations to the dinning plan

Thanks everyone
