DIS Dads The Official DisDads Prayer and Praise Thread

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Had a health scare last week. I'm 27 and experienced severe chest pain. Ended up being Acute Pericarditis. I'm doing fine, but looking at yet another medical bill from 2019. Here's hoping I can financially turn around and do better both in my physical health and mental health in 2020

Thanks. She isn't in as much pain so the meds are working and I think the stone may pass soon.

Prayers that they get you better and that the financial strain eases. Hopefully it was just a viral trigger, but check with your physician to make sure there are no underlying causes they are missing.

SWMBO has mostly healed up. A couple more pills to keep her peeing and make sure it stays acidic. Follow up in three months with the "Stone Specialist" to see if there are any lifestyle changes she can make that will help prevent further stones. Still has one left but it isn't moving.

Prayers for our nation right now amidst this alleged pandemic. Either it's a serious threat, and we are doing a terrible job at social distancing. Or, it's not a serious threat and we have overhyped it. In comparison, 1.6 million people died of tuberculosis in 2017.

Praying for everyone,

Praying. I saw a report that 6 out of 7 cases are undetected. We really won't know how bad this is until it is all over and they can compare mortality to actual infection rates. It is really the fear of the unknown. Probably less than 25% of the people I work with got a flu shot though it is free yet there are approximately 30,000-60,000 deaths from the flu annually. Be well everyone.

I read an article that South Korea was testing 20,000 people a day. So far, the death rate was .4%, which was close to the latest released rate from Wuhan. If everyone in the USA caught COVID19, then that would be 1.3 million deaths. You're right, we won't know until all the smoke clears. The Social Distancing was a good idea, but the panic and hoarding that the media has caused is inexcusable.

Happy Divine Mercy Sunday. Outside the Catholic Church, that may not mean much. Google Divine Mercy or St Faustina for more information. It is truly a special day - for liturgy and devotion to join together.

Got some bad news today, the cancer has returned. So another surgery and another round of treatments, 2020 sure sucks.
