The Official DIS College Football Thread

Baylor Bears. We are 3-0 so far. A new record for us. However, we play Texas A&M this weekend. So, we'll see how long we last.

And nobody is beating USC this year. That team ought to be playing on Sundays instead of Saturdays. They could probably give a handfull of NFL teams all they could handle. Just scary good.

Will wonders never cease...wvrevy and I have something we can finally agree on.

They ARE scary good. And what right-minded female wouldn't want to root for Matt Leinart? :)

DS #2 is a sophmore at USC and we'll be heading to LA next week for Parents' weekend and the USC-Arizona game on Saturday! :cheer2: :cheer2:

2000 UT 43-17 a&m

All-time: UT 72-34-5 over a&m

Hook-'em!

The sofas need to be inside before 5pm tomorrow. I'm glad they've started expelling students that do that stupid stuff. And for all you outsiders, its not the whole town that burns furniture. It's about 2 or 3 blocks in a little place called Sunnyside. Its where they used to hold the infamous Block Parties. I hate it when sofa burning makes national news. :rotfl: After we won a big game a few years ago (can't remember who or if it was basketball or fb), our victory was overshadowed in the national news by the coverage of the sofa burning. Grrr!!!!!! I do not go downtown on a Saturday night after a home football game...crazy students! :teeth:

wvrevy, i'm sure you know but its Mylan Puskar Stadium now. Sounds stupid, huh? It will always be Mountaineer Field to me.
you take credit for that crapfest? we lost the game, you didn't win it. :)

A win is a win...
I agree with The Swamp. it sells out every home game, and your eardrums bleed afterward. the Orange Bowl is actually worse, but it doesn't sell out like The Swamp. I've actually seen the top of the Orange Bowl sway on a sold out night. that's flippin' scary.
Sorry, but it sways because the OB is a wreck, not because the people are excited. The OB is no where near as loud as the Swamp. No where close. It wouldn't be close even if they could fill it up. But no one wants to go to the games because if they filled it to capacity, it'd probably fall apart. Well, that and because no one cares and the stadium isn't even on campus.

BOOMER SOONER, BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,BOOMER SOONER,............ :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I can hardly wait for Saturdays game. I wish I could be there. My son plays on the field every game. Hes in the band.

plus, we'll give you one win in the last 7 meets. that's why we own you.

Yeah Canes Fan- I'll take that win. And the Canes did win six in a row, but let's not forget the five in a row FSU put on y'all before that!
Oh and BTW, 10-7

I did also want to ask one thing. Do they even play college football outside the state of Florida? Go Noles!

Yup... and this year there have already been many games better than that snoozefest you guys are talking about.

National Titles:

Miami: 5 (should be 7 or 8, let's be real) screw the BCS

FSU: 3

Gators.... 1

the road to the national title sometimes makes it's way through northern Florida. it usually doesn't. :earsboy:

The Hokies are going to embarass, humiliate and thoroughly horse-whip the 'Neers this weekend. Won't even be a close game. I heard the police are already making those psychos in WV take their furniture indoors...

We have a good record but really haven't played a team of substance yet. Poor, poor Duke Blue Devils. I witnessed that slaughter in person.

Definitely our arch-nemesis would be VA Tech, and they normally come out on top, this year I am sure will be no different. Now it's even worse as they are an ACC school.

Whaaa, whaaa, whaaaa . . .

God Bless Coach Tressel!!

KC :sunny:

1 - Nope, it's still Mountaineer Field. They just changed the name of the stadium, so now it's "Mountaineer Field at Mylan Puskar Stadium." Hey, when the guy donates well over 10 million dollars, ya' gotta be nice to him. :teeth: But it'll always be Mountaineer Field to me.

2 - The Orange Bowl is a pit. Worst stadium in which I've ever attended a game.

3 - BC could never finish higher than 4th in the Big East, and now suddenly they're world beaters in the ACC ? They already lost to F$U, and they'll probably lose three or four more to finish right in the middle of the pack...where they always will. BC athletics are over. They belong in the ACC about as much as they belong in the PAC10.

4 - Virginia Tech is the single most overrated school in the country. Just 'cause the kid's name is Vick, doesn't mean he's as good as his brother. Michael earned his reputation for winning. The only big win Marcus has to his credit is pleading out his statutory rape case into a contributing to the deliquency of a minor charge. :rotfl:

Memorial Stadium in Champaign, IL for an Illini game is the worst I've ever been to. the OB just has 'character'... ;) come on, we recruit our defense right out of jails, we need to keep them in their element. Coach Coker has said that games are won outside the OB as the opposing team's bus is driving up to the stadium. you've got to love that. but that's why college football is the greatest, the traditions and the rivalries. Raymond James Stadium is very nice, but it it doesn't have the 'feeling' that the OB, Doak, or Swamp has.

Let's see after this weekend. I'll be curious to see your post(s) after that. So there's NO school that is MORE overrated than VT, in the whole country? That's fine. And actually, a lot of good sportswriters disagree a lot with you about Marcus Vick. Most actually believe that at this stage of his career, he is much better than Mike. He has a better touch on the pass, he is just as quick, if not quicker, and he makes better decisions. His off-the-field antics aside (this is, I thought, about college football, not college life), he is leading a really great team really well this year, I think.

Let's talk Monday...
